Duck with cucumber salad in the foreground
    April A.

We drove 45 minutes to try royal kitchen and it was worth it. We wanted duck and the last few places we had it did not turn out well so we decided on royal kitchen. The duck was amazing and carved table side. The rest of the food we ordered (a lot lol) was fantastic as well. It's simple inside and you order from an iPad which seemed weird at first but it's nice to see pictures of the food before you order. This place really reminded me of the Chinese restaurants of my youth in the 70s. Super friendly Chinese family running the operation and it shows in the food. We will definitely be back!

The food was great. Service was amazing. The waitress was super kind and very positive. The ambiance was traditional, a place that focuses more on the food than the restaurant. Other than that, I'd come back again.

We went on Thanksgiving so maybe that's why service was so spotty. We got a good mix of dishes like peaking duck with the baos, chasu baos, scallion pancakes, beef stir fry noodles, spicy clams, got the stir fry duck bones and combination fried rice. The duck is actually really good. The baos aren't that great but the pancakes are pretty solid. The scallion pancakes are just okay (lowkey TJ scallion pancakes are better). Chasu buns are probably the worst ones I've had. The dough isn't cooked all the way and the meat isn't super flavorful. Beef stir fry was so so, kinda missing was depth of flavor/spice. Chile oil doesn't save it. Spicy clams were okay. The clams themselves were super tasty but I wasn't a fan of the sauce. Fried rice is okay and duck bones flavor is decent but a little too salty. Plain rice was dry. Overall not bad but wouldn't return. The baos, duck sauce with the scallion and cucumber (needed more scallions and more cucumber) were 10 dollars and 5 dollars (respectively) extra which is criminal. Duck should come with all the fixings. The duck bones stir fry was another 10.

The place is clean and spacious, and service is decent. However, very Overpriced dishes compared to its portion. $43.99 for a small dry pot frog leg, not worth it at all. The beijing roast duck is just so-so, the meat is kinda dry and lean. It also lacks flavor, all the flavor comes from the sauce on the side. I will probably not drive 30 minutes to dine there again.

Pepper sauce beef tenderloin (super tough not beef tenderloin)

The place is new and clean but the table were not wiped down properly. Very limited Din Sum options. The one we did order were not eddible. (Frozen and re-heated but was not all the way) We ended up only taking a bite and leaving the rest un-touched. At over $6 a dim sum dish I expected to at least be able to eat it. We also order the tenderloin beef with pepper sauce which tasted ok. The sauce was good but the beef was definitely not tenderloin. It was tough and chew. low quality meat soaked in baking soda to tender. Definitely do not recommend this over priced spot.

Local Beijing-er here! I would give it as the best pecking duck I ever had in the states. Truly authentic 北京人认证目前全美最好吃的烤鸭,才58一只,虽然要等他们现烤,但真的很值得。太地道了,大伯大婶也都是老北京,人很实在,强推爱吃烤鸭的姐妹来!

We came to try the peking duck and it was good!!!!pork pao bun's bread was so soft and served warm. Braised Pork belly had tender pork and had the five spice flavor. Lastly we had the yangzou fried rice which to me was just regular fried rice because it had spam in it and was missing the flovor compared to others i have tried. Then the shrimp fried rice was something i could have had by itself because of a smokey flavor.

The only place I will go in DFW area for Peking Duck from now until I keel over. It is beyond delicious and they do it right. They cut it in front of you, and serve the first few skin pieces with sugar. SO GOOD. The duck always has the right proportions of crispy skin to fat to meat. You also get the option to do what you want with the duck bones-- either duck soup (which is SO good and comforting and makes a great leftover meal if you pair with vermicelli), seasoned bones, or just take the bones home. We always get the Roselle tea (herbal and a little sweet, flavor is great). We love the fish fillets with tofu in chili oil. And for my favorite dessert, I recommend the Tianjiu. So good! We come maybe twice a month at this point and I bring all my friends.

I placed my order, but the team here seems really disorganized...even spacey. I wound out up waiting 15 minutes for the most disappointing nachos I've ever had. I remember having nachos at the dollar theaters in the 80's and 90's, and that would've been a massive upgrade from the dish I was served. Never confuse vegan with healthy, the two are not mutually exclusive, so when you are eating nachos from here being in the saltiest most basic chips, do not be surprised. They are just the base to the monstrosity that is Vegan Vibrationz nachos. While there was definitely care in assembling the nachos, the flavors were just not great and the time it took to get the nachos was just ridiculous. The main binder was a slightly spicy sauce squirted on some lettuce and tomato with beans. I really think my order was forgotten and then when I was inquiring about it over and over, they finally assembled the nachos. Overall, not the best experience and the nachos were blah. I love the idea of a vegan place to eat at Legacy Food Hall, but the food and the service here missed the mark.

I asked for the most popular item and they served me the Crunchwrap. This has plantbased meat with taco seasoning and a sauce that is either tahini or thinned almond butter styled. It's fairly tasty. I can't say it's my favorite like other Yelpers but again I am just happy for the plantbased option. Like all the Hall, be prepared to overspend.

We had several people who had dietary restrictions and allergies and while they were able to find items to eat the limited menu option because of a large party did make it more challenging. For my main entrée I had the steak frites. The steak was cooked decently. I do wish there was a little bit more seasoning on it. The french fries were a miss for me as they are cooked in a fry cooker and just don't have the same flavor that regular fries too. I understand the concept for this place is healthy eating but the fries just didn't have that crunch to them and tasted soggy. Our server was delightful and I enjoyed how attentive she was.

I will say the pasta was in oddly short pieces so don't expect to twirl your noodles on your fork! The chicken was well cooked and seasoned with a nice crust. The raw tomato addition didn't do too much for me but I didn't mind it overall. The soda fountain is an adorable tap that boasted drinks like cola, sparkling lemonade, cream soda, root beer and more. I'm not usually a fan of off brand cola but this one was great, if not a little watery for my taste. My pasta dish overall was $15.50, which was a great price for the amount I received.
