From the looks of it, thought it was going to be too rich for me, but it all blends together in the perfect bite and I found myself polishing off the meat. Egg was a little over cooked but amazing dish. BBQ Shrimp and Grits (4.5/5) A generous portion of BBQ shrimp atop a half plate of rich, yummy grits. It's quite saucy, and the flavor or rosemary was strong (a bit too strong for me). Yet the shrimp and grits come together so well. Comes with a buttermilk biscuit (generous portions as well) Shrimp Boogaloo Benedict (5/5) A poached egg and fried green tomato slice on top of a half biscuit (yet again!). There is always a wait, so you may as well count the drive time to the restaurant. I like the Ruby Slipper drink, but it's very sweet. My fiancée loves the three little pigs omelette and he gets it every time we go there. The omelette comes with fruit and a biscuit with a creamy honey butter. At least I think it's honey. Whatever it is, it's perfect on a flaky biscuit! I like to switch up, but the Migos is delicious. I like some of the Benedict dishes, but they sometimes come a little cooler than I would like because the restaurant stays busy. MOST IMPORTANTLY - you should get the pig candy bacon. It's often a side choice but you can order a la carte. It's bacon broiled with brown sugar, and it's the best sweet-and-salty combo in the culinary world. Arrived and checked in with the hostess. She took my phone number and said we'll text you. It's about a 25 minute wait. So we waited, after 35 minutes I went to check on where we were on the list. The hostess said she didn't see me on the list, and she did remember me. She said which one of the three of us (hostesses) did I talk with. Since I didn't get a name or remember who I spoke with, she said I could be put on the waiting list and the wait is about 90 minutes. So basically she called me a liar. Since I didn't know who I spoke with and they didn't seem to remember me. They assumed I was lying. So if you're getting placed on the wait list here, maybe a selfie with the hostess so you can prove it. Even better don't give your business to a business that calls it's customers liar's. read more

Didn't want to wait here for too long so we checked in on yelp in advance. However we got here in a rush and ended up sitting at the bar even though the wait wasn't long. We tried both the peacemaker, option of two different eggs Benedict's and the banana foster French toast. My only issue with the Benedict's were the eggs weren't runny even though they both had delicious flavors. Additionally, the bread it's served on could have been toasted. I got one with bacon and tomato flavored hollandaise and the fried chicken eggs Benedict. I would definitely order again if the eggs were runny. Of the two, I would probably pick the first with the bacon. The banana foster french toast was a favorite, great flavor and not too overwhelmingly sweet. It took nearly an hour after ordering to be served on a weekend afternoon; our waitress only checked in about half an hour after we'd ordered. When the food was served, items were missing, one order was wrong, an egg dish was served cold... but some things were hot. It seemed like they'd forgotten about making half our meals for a while or something... They remade the cold meal and said they'd take off the things they forgot, but seemed more annoyed than apologetic. Our bill was wrong too but they did fix it. As for the food -- 3/5. For my first eats ever in New Orleans I could be happier. We came in for a lunch meeting at the suggestion of our local employee and he was spot on. What a great place, I loved the decor and every staff person I interacted with was happy, cheerful and beyond polite. I got the biscuits and gravy.....well cause old habits die hard and HOLY cow that some of the best B&Gs I've ever had. Our first day in New Orleans this time. Our daughter suggested we go here for brunch. There were five of us, including her boyfriend Andrew. The decor is somewhat diner'ish. I think I remember there was counter seating but don't recall for sure. We were seated at a table right away. I tell you, in Chicago at brunch, there are waits just about everywhere. It was nice being able to take a table immediately. Their menu is different. Everything looked so good. I ended up getting The Costa Rican. This was an egg dish with Gallo pinto (slow-cooked black beans & rice) over a warm tomato salsa, spicy chorizo, crispy plantains & avocado. It was very filling and quite good. Came here for breakfast with my bf, grandma and sister on a little family trip to NOLA before COVID came and stopped everything. The wait was a little long wait, about 35 mins. One of our favorite stops during our time in New Orleans. Came highly recommended and didn't disappoint. Our server Eliza was very attentive and accommodating. Visiting the city & heard about this place through word of mouth. Did the peacemaker, where you can mix & match 2 Benedict's. Chose the corn beef & shrimp boogaloo. Portions are big & biscuit is thick. So the shrimp boogaloo comes with 4 pieces of shrimp. Sounds a little bit, but there is so much flavor! I don't prefer tomatoes but the sauce is tomato base & it comes with a fried green tomato. So delicious! The corn beef is made in-house so you won't get that cheap hash. Let me start off by saying this place was AMAZING from the minute we added ourselves to the waiting list to the time we left!!! Prior to going we wanted to grab something good to eat so a guy we met suggested to hit up Ruby Slipper which was located 2.5 blocks from where we was staying. The name alone catch my attention then i checked it on Yelp and was like let's go which we did. Upon arrival, the server took our name and put on the waiting list which we were told would be around 10-15 min. Not so bad esp since there was a lot of people and we expected it would be a longer wait. After 2-3 min a lady came with a cute menu in the shape of a red slipper and asked us if we would like a drink while we wait. Wow! What a way to start off because back home that doesn't happen lol. We decided to get the Morning Margarita On the rocks with a Sugared rim, mmmm what an excellent choice because it was sweet, strong and perfect. You had an option to either get a regular or double shot. Finally, after 14 minutes, we were greeted again and then seated. Jasmine and Ambereal were so nice and such a pleasure to speak to, they made us feel at home and we didn't even seat or ordered our food. They both had a great attitude and were very welcoming. We decided to sit at the area and we were blessed to have Jerry as our waiter. He gave us great suggestions as well as taught us some great things and fun facts about New Orleans as well as some history of the restaurant itself. You definitely get your monies worth here. As we were about to pay the bill, i remembered i had an offer of free French sticks which i in fact ordered. He also recommended the Gulf Fish St. Peter, which is one of their specialties. It includes gulf fish atop a grit cake with fresh veggies and a skewer of grilled shrimp. ...and because it's New Orleans, it's topped with a creole hollandaise. Heard great reviews about this place but it wasn't all that. They have interesting choices for benedicts, the crawfish one was good. The blood Mary wasn't that great. Some of us found it hard to finish. My husband enjoyed his mimosa flight. There wasn't a wait when we went around 1030am but our server wasn't that great. He spilled a drink on me but def not a big deal as accidents happen, just happy it was me and not someone else in my group. Wasn't really attentive and kept forgetting to bring us things where we had to get up and search for it ourselves. Definitely did not tell us that certain things cost extra. The service was wonderful but the food feels like it's gone a hit downhill. The side potatoes are literally just plain potatoes, no seasoning, no onions, nothing.... They're as bland as bland can be The breakfast tacos remain my favorite thing on the menu but even they're a little bland these days.
