Had a wonderful long weekend staying at the newly renovated Sheraton SD Marina Resort. The restaurant Rumorosa has a cool vibe that is right next to the Marina. The view is amazing and the service and quality of the dishes did not fall short. The breakfast buffet is a well presented and covers all boxes. You can tell someone with passion and skill is doing a job well done. I dined here all weekend long, had music on Friday and Saturday night. I would highly recommend dining here if in the area or even if you live local and looking for a weekend brunch spot. Will be back again soon! read more

This place needs to put a little more effort into their menu. Ordered nachos with chicken. Chicken was server as a single chicken breast over a mound of tortilla chips. 4 or 5 little jalapeños and a side of sauce. Saddest nachos I've ever seen. Ordered table Caesar salad and stake to share. All of us were under the impression it would be made table side, nope. This place most of what you expect for hotel restaurant that serves all day. We had dinner and breakfast. In both case the servers were excellent. Friendly and efficient. At dinner we shared a Caesar salad. Asked for dressing on the side but came drenched with dressing. Dressing not typical Caesar and not as good either. Chips and queso wasn't too good either. Chips covered with sweet paprika kind of topping. The queso was watery and lacked cheese flavor. We split the chicken. Came as airline cut. Cooked properly and tasted pretty good. Wine by the glass outrageously priced. If you're having more than one glass better to get a bottle. Breakfast was outstanding with wonderful fruit and pastries. Lox on the continental menu which we enjoy. Eggs cooked to order perfectly done. Ambiance weird. Looks like a try at retro look but doesn't come across well. Rumorosa never disappoints. I have eaten breakfast here three mornings in a row. The food was excellent; it was cooked to perfection. When I inquired about the croissants being quite stale, before you know it, I was served three croissants right out of the oven. Victor, my server, went above and beyond the call of duty not only for me, but for all his guests in his area. He always "checked in" with each guest to see if all was good and if they needed anything more. Rumorosa is so very lucky to have him on their staff!! The food and ambiance were both excellent. The hostess was exceptional. I did not get her name but she was a charming African American woman working on 6/26/24 at 8:00 PM. I had the pleasure of being served by Marco. From the moment I sat down Marco provided outstanding service that greatly enhanced my dining experience. Marco greeted me with a warm smile and a calming voice. He checked in regularly to ensure I was enjoying my meal and to see if there was anything else I needed. Marco provided an excellent recommendation for dessert that suited my taste perfectly. His friendly demeanor and professional attitude made me feel valued and well-cared-for throughout my dining experience. Marco and the hostess exemplifies what excellent customer service should be. The food was subpar and extremely over priced. The service was decent but the server only came by once to refill my water which was annoying after a long trip to arrive at the hotel. The ambiance was severely ruined by performer who sang the worst songs on guitar I had ever heard. read more

We made the mistake of eating at Rumorosa on Mother's Day. We ordered Salmon for $44 and Beef Shortrib for $48. The Salmon plate consisted mostly of tasteless white rice and two tiny pieces of salmon and a small wedge of grapefruit and orange. The Shortrib was silver dollar sized on a bed of bland mashed potatoes. This was one of the worst restaurant experiences we've had and we eat out quite a bit. Do yourself a favor, if you have to eat here, order from the bar menu. read more

Absolutely loved our experience here! We stopped by for cocktails before a concert at Petco Park. Pablo, the bartender, crafted the most amazing mezcal drink, his twist on a Paloma. My boyfriend tried the Vallecito, which was delicious. The atmosphere was fantastic with a lovely view of the marina. read more
