    Chai!

Beautiful decor and a bright, lively atmosphere. I had a chai and it was pleasant. I'm sure I spoke with every server on duty because they were so friendly and checking on us and asking how we were doing. Love their mission to support a local school with all proceeds and how it aligns with the Unbound Library, a community library, which is the pop up event we attended there. We will be back to visit and dine again!

When it comes to a quick sandwich spot you really can't get any better than this. The staff and ambiance were both excellent as well. We ordered two sandwiches that had perfectly crispy bread, great fillings and flavorful sauces. I mean when you put a bunch of well seasoned proteins between two slices of bread with a bunch of cheese, you can't end up with anything that isn't delicious. What keeps this from a 5 is that it is not anything unique. Regardless, they make great sandwiches and I will definitely be back to try more of them Shoutout to Zo for explaining what we ordered and for being the creator of the monthly Jerk Chicken sandwich

Ruthie's Cafe is one of those places that makes you feel good the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, and the staff are genuinely friendly. The food is excellent especially the grilled cheese sandwiches, which are easily some of the best in Dallas. Everything tastes fresh and well prepared, and the menu has great options for breakfast and lunch.

So this WAS a combo meal. Grilled chicken sausage, egg and cheese sandwich. To the right. Hot tomato soup with bits of tomato and onion.

Cloudy day. So where do I head? Straight to Ruthie's for a warm rich and thicc tomato soup with bits of tomato and onion. Only to be partnered with a grilled chicken sausage, egg and cheese sandwich. Imagine a golden crust. Don't forget the unlimited soda refills. $14. *Inconceivable*

The BEST grilled sandwiches in South Dallas. And OMG! The tomatoes basil soup is dangerously delicious with just a small hint of something spicy. Hat's off to the chef, Zo!

Where Comfort Meets Conscious Eating TL;DR: A cozy café serving up health-conscious breakfast sandwiches on their legendary bread--flavorful, satisfying, and surprisingly affordable. Healthy breakfast spots can be hit or miss. Too often, you're left with something that tastes like regret wrapped in whole wheat. But Ruthie's Café? They've cracked the code. Their chicken sausage, scrambled egg, and cheese sandwich--stacked on that famous bread from their food truck days--is proof that healthy can still mean deliciously melty. Of course, I had to revisit an old flame: the grilled cheese that first made me fall for Ruthie's back when they were slinging sandwiches at Klyde Warren Park. Spoiler alert: it's still as gooey and glorious as ever. The space itself? Minimalist, but in a welcoming way--high ceilings, big glass windows, and a "come hang out" kind of vibe. Whether you're settling into the laptop-friendly corner or hosting a group in the conference room, there's a spot that feels just right. The Unexpected Perk The prices. Somehow, they're just as reasonable--if not better--than when they were a food truck. I randomly wandered in while running errands and now have their brisket cheese sandwich bookmarked for my next visit. The Flipside The coffee? Let's just say it exists. Not terrible, but definitely not the star of the show. Think more "standard drip" than "carefully curated roast." Basically, it's the sidekick to the cheese sandwich, not the main act. Pro Tips * Skip the street parking stress--there's a lot in the back. * The patio is prime real estate for overcast days or when you want to feel fancy eating a cheese sandwich outdoors. * If you're planning a group gathering, the conference room seems reservable. * Breakfast is served all day! Don't let the TV screens showing lunch options fool you--grab a laminated menu at the counter for the real deal. * The coffee is molten when served. Give it a minute unless you enjoy burning your taste buds off. Final Thoughts Ruthie's Café nails the trifecta: solid food, fair prices, and thoughtful little details (like eco-friendly utensils). Whether you're here for the bread, the cheese, or just the easygoing vibe, it's the kind of place you'll want in your regular rotation. Because life's too short for bad bread--or forgettable cheese sandwiches.

    Sausage, egg and cheese sandwich

Zo, the chef, at Ruthie's made my sausage, egg and cheese sandwich to perfection. He came out and make sure of the type of cheese I wanted as well as wanting to see if my sausage was well done.

RUN! Do not walk to Ruthie's and order the Power Bowl! OMG! Chef Dre made the fluffiest eggs I've ever had! So good!

I told them I want the order to go, but I'm gonna sit down and eat some of my food in the restaurant like first I take half of my food home with me and only eat half in the restaurant. So this place checked all the boxes for me. It was super cute inside they have outdoor seating. It was clean cute decor TV with a soccer game going and lots of different kinds of choices on the menu everything from a country club chicken wrap to uncle Poly's chicken with mozzarella in a sandwich. I got the country club wrap with a moonshine unsweetened tea and it really hit the spot for me it was delicious. It was fresh and it was a nice serving. I will be back.

You must mix it before taking a bite, it's a baked loaded potato in a mini cup. Delish. I was craving fries and sweet potato fries they were more like chips to me q little on the crispy side. We ordered the turkey bacon avocado as well as the Paulie and they were both delicious. The freshest and most yummy sandwiches. Can't wait to come try some more yummy things

Normally, I don't consider people from St. Louis to be credible deli evaluators, but I was desperate and made the hour drive to Grapevine. We got there at 11:15 and the line was nearly to the door. Within 30 minutes, it was well out into the street. That was a promising sign. The sandwich menu covered the entire wall over the counter. Lots of non-New-York sandwiches like Cubans, gyros, etc, but over in the left corner were the classic Ruebens and pastramis. I went for the latter. A REAL NY deli usually has a few soups like split pea and chicken noodle and matzoh. No soups. Bummer. They had a half dozen sides - 3 kinds of potato salads and a few slaws. I went with the German potato salad. The drink option was spartan - they tossed a styrofoam cup at me and pointed to the soda fountain. The pastrami sandwich was OK for Texas. A SUPER pastrami sandwich on hard rye can get me moaning like Meg Ryan in "When Harry Met Sally" -- only I don't have to fake it. The German potato salad was watery and bland - I should have gone with the mustard potato salad. Turnaround was on the slow side. Napkins = paper towel roll on table. Flimsy plasticware. The overall vibe was affordable utilitarian. I'll give the sandwich a 4, everything else a 3. Next time I'll drive the extra half hour to Cindi's.

No signage, no menus. No tables, no nothing. After a while someone came to the window and advised we could order on our phones. I mean, I guess if it's just a food delivery/to-go place or something it make sense...but someone somewhere needs to do better at explaining to their patrons what you're supposed to do here. We ordered and waited in our car. They don't give you anything to alert us so we just kept going back in to check on the food. I'm not sure what I expected but I thought maybe there would be some tables or something? They didn't even have trash cans outside. The food was just ok. The cheese sauce was the best part. Super cheesy and ooey gooey. We didn't finish the sandwich as it was soggy (even though we ate it immediately) and lacking bulgogi flavor of any kind. The macaroni was decent enough. Based on the whole "food delivery pick up and not a restaurant" I would not be back. I mean...is this the future of eating out? I'm not impressed.
