came here for the first time ever after having had many other steakhouses. the steaks are good, service is fantastic, and I love that the food is serving on HOT plates to keep food hot. my pet peeve is when they bring out all the food at once and the first dish that was cooked is cold from the wait, and Ruth's Chris has defeated that by serving everything on hot plates. our server Alan was so funny. he was attentive for the most part except for forgetting to open our wine bottle, but other than that we had a good time with him. I have to minus one star because it's so pricey. like, outrageous. sides are ala carte from the entrees and even though it's a shareable portion for a decently large group, it really adds up. it's hard to decline the sides though and honestly they weren't stunning so I don't see the cost justification. overall still had a great dinner experience and would recommend at least one visit in your lifetime. read more

We had a fantastic time at Ruth's for the first time in over 20 years. We started with happy hour on the lanai, where we tried the mushrooms stuffed with crabmeat. We somehow got our reservation time confused and arrived early. The staff said they would accommodate us anyway. We were so thankful as we'd taken a Lyft to this location and were hungry. This was my first time at a Ruth Chris Steak House. I absolutely loved the ambiance of the restaurant. They had placed red rose petals and beads around the candle at our table as we were there to celebrate our Mom's birthday and also her retirement. We got the large seafood tower which was absolutely incredible! Lobster, crab, shrimp, ahi tuna.... all so amazingly fresh!!! Our steaks were all cooked to order and perfection! The sides were perfect compliments to the steak. We did the sizzling prime time which include a starter, an entree, a side and dessert. They brought Mom a beautiful chocolate strawberry flambé for her birthday. I had the bread pudding which was warm and delicious. Always enjoy dining at Ruth's Chris Steak House Honolulu at Waterfront Plaza. The location is easy to get to and there are plenty of parking spaces available in the validated parking lot. Came here for a birthday celebration and didn't want to start off with the stress of going into Waikiki during the peak driving time and having to wait for the valet parking attendants. Our waiter, David, is very friendly and made us feel very special and welcomed. He was attentive and gave us top notch service. Came for 2 people's birthdays today. We have been coming here quite often but today was nothing like we've experienced before. We got very salty steaks, could not even eat 1/3 of it. There was almost 30 mins wait times between the dishes, Took about 3 hours from the appetizer to the coffee, very slow services. Sorry, our server... he was very good but we paid $1720 for the entire dishes and this was NOT what we expect. I came for dinner to meet one of my girlfriends after my bar exam. I was mentally fried and in desperate need of a night of luxury and friendship. We had a bottle of wine and the steak and lobster prix fixe dinner menu. We shared a couple of desserts. Dinner was not rushed, dinner was amazingly delicious, the service was top-notch. From the service to the food everything was amazing, we went back in May for our anniversary as we do every year. Big shoutout to Tracy, Nick, JC, Puka and Aristotle they made the night so special for us. I had the filet with the blackened scallops one of the best dishes I've ever had, the Steaks were cooked to our exact preferences, it was nice and quiet only thing we will probably request a booth for our next time in but overall it was such a nice experience from service, to the dishes and the desserts were really delicious. The world food travelers attended another wine dinner at Ruth's Chris (One Waterfront); this time Champagnes from Veuve Clicquot and Moet & Chandon. Hurrah, I love Champagnes! The amuse bouche was a petite scallop crudo with Asian pear relish and a passion fruit vinaigrette. It was served with a flute of Moet & Chandon Imperial ($60btl). The scallop was sliced into three pieces and the dressing gave it a fresh, clean taste. The first course was Roasted Parsnip Soup with miniature croutons and a turmeric foam. It was paired with Veuve Clicquot Brut ($70btl). The soup was creamy and somewhat sweet and the brut matched well. The second course was Prime Skirt Steak with smashed Rosemary Red Potatoes and a soy & ginger chimichurri, paired with Veuve Clicquot Rosé ($80btl). The slices of meat were flavorful and very tender ... I loved it. I didn't see the Rosé matching the beef but it did. The main course was filet mignon with blue crab; served with Potatoes Anna and Asparagus Frites. It was paired with the stunning Veuve Clicquot La Grande Dame, 2015 ($224btl). I was full so I put the filet aside and just consumed the crab. The La Grande Dame was sublime! Dessert was a coconut cake with roasted pineapple cream filling, a brulée of pineapple and a passion fruit coulis. I don't usually partake in the dessert course but the cake was moist and went well with a cup of coffee. This was the final wine dinner of 2023 and arguably the best. Kudos to the winemakers and the staff of Ruth's Chris. We had lots to take home; I rarely make it through all of the courses due to my wanting to savor the wines. Final thoughts: We enjoy these wine dinners at Ruth Chris; they're an outstanding value because four glasses of these Champagnes would cost more than $100. For $155, it's a "steal". I'll give this dinner 5 stars for the food, wine and service. read more

I've been here a bunch of times but for some reason I have never written a review for here so this will be on my last time here in April. We were celebrating my husbands birthday so my in laws always take us here to celebrate. We always get the private room which is nice so it's more private. I am not a big steak fan so I always get the gumbo and some kind of appetizer. This time I tried the veal osso buco ravioli. We also got calamari for everyone to share. Their calamari is so good! It was so tender, probably the best I've ever had. The gumbo was good as usual and the ravioli was really good. I'd definitely recommend trying it out. 10/26/25 @ 4:15p - 4.5 but 5 stars for overall experience. First time at this location. Inquired about an e-gift card. Louis, the manager, stepped up quickly to check/confirm it was good to use. Exemplary service by David, Kalae, and other staff (good teamwork). Water refilled and staff checked on us numerous times. The manager also stopped by to greet and see how we were doing and made his way to other tables. Filet mignon (11 oz.) medium rare cooked to perfection and so tender. The 16 oz. Ribeye was thinner than the picture on the website and seasoned on the salty side (a thicker cut would have compensated for it). The sweet potato casserole was absolutely delicious with the pecan crumble on top. Sweet like a dessert and took some home to eat with vanilla ice cream. The chocolate sin cake was rich and decadent. The crème brûlée did not disappoint and tasted like a roasted marshmallow with the crispy crust on top. Both paired well with a cup of coffee. Our bill showed a suggested tip calculation based on the total after tax, as noted on the receipt. As I overlooked this, I left a 22.5% tip which was well deserved and, hopefully, shared by servers/staff. The hostess also answered the phone promptly because my validated parking ticket did not register correctly, resulting in a $12 charge even though we were well below the 3.5 hour time limit. She directed me to press the button for the attendant, who honored the validated ticket so we could leave. This Ruth Chris Honolulu location is efficiently run and definitely worth a return visit. read more

Unfortunately, I walked into the Restaurant Row location on a Tuesday when they opened at 4 p.m. I was hoping to catch part of a basketball game in the lounge. The host said I could have a seat at the bar. I searched for a seat, pulled a chair, and asked the bartender if he could show the game. Rather than greeting me and letting me know if the game would be available, he first says, " You can't sit here; the seats with napkins are reserved." Feeling awkward, I apologize. There is no way for me to know that, being that almost every seat had a white napkin in front of it. The only seats I was permitted to sit at were pushed off to the corners of the bar. Very dismissive. Oh well, it is what it is. First rule: greet your customers, be polite, point them to a seat, and make them feel welcome. The vibe was intrusive, and saving 5-6 center seats at the bar with napkins for individuals not present was odd. It's the first place I've seen the majority of center barstools reserved in an empty restaurant. I was looking at bar etiquette and industry standards. While reserving seats in a restaurant is expected, holding seats for people not yet present is impractical for a bar, as it can create a "no-go zone" for other patrons, and discourage walk-in customers, creating an exclusive rather than welcoming environment. I'm here to talk about my experience. My friend and I went here last night. We got our hair done, our makeup done down to the dress we wore to the heels. We were looking I can say. Tell me why these people sat us all the way down the hallway where the bathroom was? Our waiter was great the food ans drinks were good. None of that was a problem. Mind you this was our first time there. And everyone else who was sat down this bathroom hallway along side us wasn't really dressed up. They were in slippers, shirts or polo shirts. Is it because of my tattoos? Is it because they were visible? That they hide us in that bathroom hallway? My friend and I try to make the most of it. We've been going to all these fancy steak places for birthdays recently. And usually I'm not a steak kind of person but these places are making me change my mind. We came here for my mom's birthday. The food here was delicious. Definitely on the top for steak places. Most of us got the prime time special. Prime time special needs to be seated by 6:00pm for the specials. You get a meat, a side, and a dessert. I got the petite filet, mashed potatoes, and ice cream. It was nice too that they had a kids menu too so my daughter got a meal her size. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The meat was cooked perfect. No one complained about it being chewy or overcooked. And despite having the prime time special, it was still a lot of food. We took home leftovers. The sides were also very delicious. We also got to try the lobster Mac and cheese and it was very rich and cheesy. Very good meal with family. We love Ruth Chris steak house! We have visited many locations and on our most recent visit enjoyed a beautiful dinner here. Everyone was very accommodating and we were able to enjoy the three course set menu value served earlier in the evening. It allowed two of us to have a salad, a steak and dessert all for a very reasonable price. My husband splurged on a very large ribeye and was extremely happy with the quality and taste! The service is also spot on. Staff are friendly and attentive, but also give you space to enjoy your meal. Pollyanna served us tonight, and she was excellent! If you like a good quality steak, nice atmosphere, and want an overall good experience, Ruth's Chris is the place to go! It's not the cheapest place to eat, but it's also not outrageous. For 1 appetizer, 2 large entrees, 2 sides, 2 beers, and 1 dessert, our total was about $225 plus tax, and we went home with leftovers. It's not an everyday restaurant (for my current budget), but in my opinion, it's well worth the splurge, especially for a special occasion. I've decided I'm a fan of this location because it's easy to find, there's lots of parking, and they validate. The area is also less hectic than Waikiki, which is nice. I believe they do take walk-ins, but with all Ruth's Chris locations, I highly recommend making reservations at least a few days in advance, or more if your party is larger. Reservations (for groups under 6 people) are especially easy online since they use OpenTable, but if your group is larger, you'll have to call, which is almost as easy. I'm a big fan of their filet and garlic mashed potatoes, but I discovered I really enjoy the (lobster) mac and cheese. We got it without lobster, and it was still stellar! They also had poke on special tonight, and I'm glad we ordered it because it was excellent! The flavors were superb and the fish was very fresh. You can't go wrong on their menu overall though - they have a solid set of options to choose from. We'll definitely be coming back again for the next birthday dinner! read more

My Bf & I celebrated our anniversary here. It was our first time & they did NOT disappoint!! The food was so good! We got the porterhouse steak & shared it because it was huge!
