This place is really cute and quaint. It's a good idea to make a reservation, especially if you have a bigger party. The food was also really good. I got the asada tacos with beans and rice. Very good and the steak was seasoned well. I knocked off a star because although the band is lovely, they play most of the night which leads to having to yell to hold a conversation. My friend does not like mole at all, but she tried her husband's mole enchiladas and said they were amazing. My husband loved his regular enchiladas (tip: if you want cheese in your enchiladas you have to ask for it). I loved my grilled fish tacos so everyone at our table was more than satisfied. I came to this restaurant with my dad and sister and had an amazing dinner! The staff is very friendly and came by frequently to make sure we had everything we needed and were doing fine. The food was delicious! I love empanadas, and these were some of the best that I've had. I also had the queso fundido which was my favorite thing of the night. I mean, how can you go wrong with a big pot of melted cheese and chorizo!? Unfortunately my husband couldn't make it to dinner but I brought him home some of the chicken wings, which he'll eat anytime any day. He really enjoyed them and mentioned that they definitely had a kick to them but weren't overly spicy. The drinks were also very enjoyable. I ended up getting the Sabor Sunrise, which was very tasty! Wow!! Amazing! We were out visiting family and decided to try it out. Excellent interior decoration and ambiance. Wonderful staff. So welcoming, treat you like a loved one. The drinks from mango margaritas to homemade horchata to the cafe de olla were made to perfection. Great flavor. The food was excellent. Chile rellano was so good. Huge. Everything from the texture of the outside of the rellano to the cheese stuffed inside with a red mole and green tomatillo sauce splitting with more flavors. With homemade corn tortillas. It gets 4 stars because it was too pricey compared to other restaurants like Juancho's, el Torito, and Elvira's in Upland. The food was pretty ok. Personally i don't like side of the white rice with veggies mexican style. Yellow spanish rice tastes better. We had the Asada plate, Carnitas plate, queso fundido w chorizo, sopes, and mini tortas appetizer. The Asada was great w grilled nopal underneath. The Carnitas were kind of dry and lacked salt. The queso fundido was served in a baby pan... lol. Looked like a kids dish. Over all it was good, but everything needed salt. The Asada plate I think was $21.00, Carnitas plate like 20.00. I tried this place a few weeks ago and honestly I've been craving it everyday since. The food is so fresh and tastes amazing. When I came the first time, I tried a few of the appetizers such as the mini tamales and mini tortas, and all of them were great. Today I tried the Mole plate and it did not disappoint! Yummm! The flavors were so on point and delicious! Everything from the mole, rice, beans, and especially the freshly made tortillas was amazing! The servers are also very kind and will offer suggestions if needed. I learned that everything is organic in the restaurant which is so important to me and is very rare. The restaurants atmosphere is inviting and bright, I love it and will definitely be back to try more! P.s this is an authentic Mexican restaurant so do not be surprised that they don't serve chips and salsa, and they don't have burritos. Both of those are not authentically Mexican. Also, this isn't fast food so it does take a while for your food to be made but it's worth it. read more

Went last night (Friday Mariachi night) for 1st time. Mariachis were definitely a nice touch & why I chose this restaurant, being there are tons of great Mexican restaurants around! First know, this is more of a gourmet Mexican than your traditional Mexican food, and is pretty pricey!! Everything we ordered was very good & tasty. I was disappointed they did not serve complimentary chips & salsa :( I did not love their traditional Margarita- small for the price & taste was just not there for me- maybe a flavored one would have been better, but just switched to beer in case. Service was o.k. Waitress was polite & attentive, maybe too attentive at times! Maybe it was just me, but it felt a little pushy/rushed to get us to order entrees as we were still waiting for our appetizers & then as we were eating our appetizers and then again & again. So all in all, it was a nice evening, mariachis & nicely set up outside- something different! I may or may not be back. I would love to try some of the entrees on menu, especially Mole entrees & the desserts looked delicious, but if I am just craving Mexican food & a good Margarita, I definitely would go elsewhere! read more

Intro: I'm going to have to say Yelp reviews let me down this time. The family and I were looking to try something new today and based on the reviews and presentation of the pictures, we were excited to give Sabor a Mí a shot. Which if I'm being honest that's more than the tequila they serve in their margaritas; pun intended, but I'm not kidding. Drinks: I saw the owner replied to one of a few reviews referring to the drinks tasting like syrup and that they use to be better in the past. Owner said the ex-bartender would serve too much alcohol and night explain why he no longer works there. This also may explain why their yelp rating is soo high. Everything tastes a little better with a good margarita in hand. Unfortunately, for my wife and I, this was not the case. To the Food: For Appetizer we had the chips and guacamole which comes with chicharrón (fried pork grinds). I have to be fair it was actually pretty good and something different you normally don't see on a menu. So, nice touch there. My wife ordered the Carnitas but was let down to find out they didn't have any besides being listed on the menu. Instead she had the Cochinita Pibil, the first thing she said was it's too salty, which coming from my wife means it's pretty salty because she tends to usually add salt to her food. I ordered the mole poblano, I did really like the mole but the boneless chicken served with it felt a little rough. Not sure if it was the way it was cooked or just the quality of the chicken itself. Either Way, I feel like it had the potential be a great dish, but instead it was just okay... Not bad but not great. My wife brought up, the rice had a different taste, it looks like they put fresh dill in their rice but not 100%, my rice was smothered with mole and when we asked the food server what was in the rice, she was honest and said no idea. Once upon a time I was a food server at a Mexican chain restaurant and we had to know at least the obvious ingredients in the food we were serving. I'll skip the kid's food, because it's hard to screw that up. The service: I don't think our food server was trying to be rude; that's me giving her the benefit of the doubt.. However, I will say that when you're taking an order, it's not nice when the food server leaves your table mid order to attend another guest without even saying excuse me, I'll be right back or something to that effect. This happened 3 times when we were trying to complete our dinner order. Every time she'd make her way back to our table, she'd ask if we were ready to order, every time we'd start to speak, she'd walkaway to attend another table that was waiving her down. Maybe she was new at her job, but as a guest, you start to feel as though maybe you're not viewed as a valued customer when you're treated this way... I'll be honest, you try to ignore the fact that you're the only Latinos in there that aren't actually working but it's a little hard to, when this happened on three separate occasions. Once, she finally took my wife and my order, she asked what the kids are having, completely forgetting she had written that down during her first visit to our table. Justifying 2 stars: The food wasn't awful, in fact certain portions were good, and there's plenty of room for improving. There's potential. If I had to rate the food itself, I'd probably give it a solid 3,. The drinks are not worth the price, as others have eluded to; it's hard to taste anything more than the syrup.. maybe hire the old bartender back? Seriously, sometimes good drinks can add a star or two to your Yelp rating. And then there's the service we received, which solidified my 2stars. I understand the restaurant business isn't easy and more so when you're not a big chain restaurant. Sometimes your prices have to be a little higher to stay a float, I support that and don't mind for a great experience. I likely won't be back since our experience fell short of that but I wish this establishment the best of luck. read more

First and last time! We live down the block and wanted authentic Mexican food for 5 de mayo we arrived at 2pm on Sunday brunch was promoted until 3pm. We where seated in the far right corner and given 3 menu's 1. Brunch menu 2. 5 de mayo specials 3. Regular menu. approximately 4 minutes after a group was seated right next to us there was no privacy to speak we heard their who conversation about the canelo fight the night before. As the waited came to our tables she advised they where no longer serving brunch so she can only take orders from the regular menu. I asked for 4 Horchatas and she complained she would have to hand make it they they where out... and then said it was fine that she would make some... as if they won't be serving horchata at a Mexican restaurant for the remainder of the day... The menu has more of an appetizer selection then entree, the entree are basic. When we asked for beverage refills again we where not told there where no refills for horchata and she complained that they where out. So we ordered sodas. We received out food no utilities given. Food was bland! Nothing to make it stand out from other Mexican restaurants My husband asked for water the waiter walked away with no response. When we where ready to go the waited questioned why I ordered a side of avocado and no eat it?!?! As if I'm not paying for it! The tab! Out total was 132 for 3 kids meal 2 burritos and 1 fajitas with a michelada and mimosa! A 18% tip was automatically added adding to 163 with tax! This place was really good 6 months ago, now this place is going downhill! To start there drinks are all syrup!! The tequila was served on the side!
