Love this place! I been here a few times, and I love it. It seems to be more crowded each time, which is "meh", but at least they will stay in business with all the customers. I have been only at lunch times, and service is prompt, they give you water refills without asking which I love, and the general feel of the place is peaceful. The servers are polite, and never rush you or make you feel uncomfortable. The pho is excellent to me, and the don't skimp on the sprouts, limes, etc. Ps. If you are a fan of coffee, make sure you get the iced coffee.Vietnamese iced coffee is SOOOO good, and Saigon's is great! read more

From first visit it was good. After the next few visits the service was horrible and there was arguing in where we wanted to be seated comfortably and it was not even busy, my husband and I were the only ones there. Not that long after the menu has been pretty much all around removed. All of our favorite choices were removed from the menu and they did not compensate for what we lost. read more

I just went here on a whim tonight with my family, and even before I have completely digested I felt the strong urge to Yelp about it. There weren't that many people inside which really is a shame. There are so many pho places in the Torrance area that are owned by Koreans that it's so refreshing to find a place that's a little closer to real Vietnamese food. I was with my dad and my uncle, who's a total foodie and has been to Vietnam several times. He couldn't stop raving about the food! My apologies for not knowing the Vietnamese names for all these dishes, but we ordered #7 (the rolls with the BBQ meat mentioned in another review), a shrimp salad, #22 (vermicelli with a whole mix of stuff), their special fried rice, and their Saigon Specialty Pho. These were mostly the ones that had photos on the menu, so we figured they were the house specialties. All of it was delicious! I have never had amazingly fantastic dreamy Vietnamese food, so I think for me, that just doesn't exist. But this was pretty damn close to it. We also got the Thai Iced Tea, which I recommend if you like sweet drinks. So breakdown of what we ate: #7 (rice paper rolls): Decent size; takes more than just the normal 3 bites to finish. I liked how they used the meat rather than the shrimp. It gives it a lot more flavor. Shrimp salad: Finely cut lettuce, carrots, onions, shrimp and I think peanuts. Decent, much better than the salads in normal Asian joints. #22 Vermicelli with a lot of different stuff: Also finely cut, good balance of flavors, with flavored meat, veggies, and an egg roll. It's like the pho noodle, but it doesn't have soup. You just mix it up with the sauce and eat it cold. But it's good! Saigon specialty pho: I love how they don't use MSG!!! Afterwards my mouth doesn't get that gross tingly feeling and I'm not drinking a gallon of water. Fried rice: Good balance of flavors and had these yummy little sausage things that remind me of Taiwanese sausages. Yumyum. Overall, I liked the place. It wasn't greasy, it looked like it was women cooks (I think that's why it tastes so good ;)), and the place is clean. It's not spectacular looking, but it's nice and bright so I know they're not trying to hide the dirt found in most legit Asian restaurants. Good stuff. read more

Had the Hawaiian combo thing, it was just alright; not mind blowing. And the same goes for the warm green tea I had. The one thing I liked was the sticky rice and the sweet sauce..but not sure if that is very hard to mess up. Service was pretty good; even caught part of the Laker game although the kid that seats you is kinda reserved. Have visited three times since moving into Olde Torrane and officially our new go-to Pho Restaurant. Family owned and operated, with delicious broth and great sauce options on every table. You can't go wrong with the #1 which is a combo of all their meats, my preference is the brisket and beef ball pho. Their small would be more than sufficient for most eaters and their BBQ Pork and BBQ Shrimp spring rolls are must haves! read more

Forewarning, the vegetarian pho is a psuedo-lie- the broth isn't vegetarian! My friend and I were looking for vegan options, and this place looked promising. She ended up having to get the vegetarian fried rice with no eggs- it came with a very scarce assortment of vegetables, sadly. I got the BBQ pork vermicelli noodles, which was... Meh. Combine that with the sketchy characters in the parking lot who greeted us with requests for money, I'm not really that impressed. (Granted, the parking lot peeps weren't associated with the restaurant, but it didn't lend one to feel comfortable) But the service was polite and timely, so yay for that! read more

Good Pho, not bad. Nice light style soup with very little oil. The flavor was not as deep as I'd like though. The addition of the hoisin sauce didn't help as I expected but no biggie. Noodles are ordinary and average and on the soft side. There were plenty of large meat slices to go with each scoop of noodles. The large size was plenty large enough for me. The service was friendly and the atmosphere relaxed and quiet. In short, strangely average, seems nothing really stood out but that's not necessarily a bad thing. 7/6/08 I said good Pho earlier this year, and It is a clean and light looking Pho without all the grease but overall it's just too mild for my taste. For this type of soup the addition of sauces normally help but it didn't help and just didn't do it for me. Strangely bland is my revised comment. read more

I am not Vietnamese, however I do enjoy a great bowl of PHO. This place does not disappointing a little naive white girl like Me! My good friend recommended we check this place out and I am so glad we did! The inside is larger than it looks from the outside and the server's attend to you promptly. The menu could be considered large and overwhelming but a hell of a selection it is! Vermicelli and Pho are my fav's. They have great prices and they give you the choice of 2 sized bowls. We both got 2 bowls of shrimp PHO and an appetizer of spring rolls. All together the bill was around $16. It is loud for being such a small place and they don't mind kids running all over the place which is kind of a downer. I tend to gravitate towards hole in the wall places for a more intimate experience and I can't do that while kids are crawling all over the floor :p the food is fresh and delivered promptly after placing an order. the attendants are very handy if any need arises. the small parking lot is shared with a Mexican food place so you need to watch where you're driving and you may need to wait a minute or two for parking All in All I am very happy and am proud to call this place on of my "Spots" read more

Customer service is fairly well here depending on when you come. If you stop by while they're busy, they won't be as quick as usual (which is to be expected seeing as the place was completely full when we went). If you go when there aren't many people there, they are on point with making sure you're taken care of. The food is great! I've had the pho and a rice dish and my mom had the egg rolls. Whenever I come here everyone in my party loves their food. I prefer this place to Pho King Way so if you live in the area and don't mind the traffic to get to it, it's well worth it! My first Vietnames restaurant experience and it was soooooooooooooo good!!! I went there for lunch after reading about it on this website. I had the BBQ pork vermicelli. Yummy! A lot of food for under $7.00. My co-worker had the vegetarian pho and loved it. We also shared the 4 piece BBQ pork spring roll. I couldn't even finish that but took it to go and enjoyed it as an afternoon snack later on. Service was good. Restaurant was clean. I'd go back anytime. There pho isn't even that great. Not impressed at all broth was pretty much blahhhhh. Bland af. And this place looks pretty run down it's kind of an eye sore. This place is roughly a 20-30 minute drive every time regardless of traffic. Every single time I come down here I always enjoy the food. I've been coming here irregularly for roughly 6-7 years now and every time it has not disappointed me. There is TV if eating alone although it can be entertaining with another guest as well. Service is relatively quick and overall great experience every time. I usually order some kind of Pho (Obviously). I've seen this place for a long time and had intended on trying it. I was craving some Pho tonight, so I thought I'd go ahead and give it a shot. The atmosphere is a bit stale and old looking; not quite a "hole in the wall" - more like a diner converted into a family restaurant with cheap green paint and cheesy decor. But ambiance is the least of things I'm looking for in a Pho place. The staff is very friendly, and it took very little time for my food to arrive. I had the Thit Nuong Cuou (BBQ Pork roll) to start with. It was really good... and the pork was fresh tasting. Next, I had the Pho Tai, the large size. The soup base tasted great, and there were plenty of sprouts, jalapeno, lime and Thai Basil to go along with it (not to mention the Sriracha aplenty with some Hoisin). They definitely gave a lot of the vermicelli noodles, and they were a great consistency. My only complaint was the thin steak. Like most Pho places I've been, it was really low grade quality. I have yet to find a Pho place that has decent rare thin sliced steak. All in all, I enjoyed Saigon Bistro. It's not GREAT, but it's a decent meal and as good as most Pho places I've been to lately. The pros: Friendly staff, prompt service, and mostly decent food. The cons: the area. It's pretty sketchy near Carson and Western, and it's not easy to access this place unless you're headed west on Carson. read more

Of the limited Vietnamese places in the area, this one is among the best. The restaurant is clean and comfortable. There are plenty of tables in this bright space. The service staff is friendly and welcoming. This location carries one of the largest menu selections for Vietnamese in the area. The food has a decent quality. The large bowls of pho come with a good amount of noodles and meat. The herbs, spirits and jalapeno slices are fresh. The rice dishes tend to be a little skimpy on the meat. I live nearby and never tried this place. So I gave it a try after the reviews. And as an avid food lover. Their pho is not good at all. This broth might be tasty for whites but for those who knows their pho avoid the pho. I've had both their pho and chicken pho.. they use the same broth and the oyster sauce is fake.
