I love the interior of this place as it's clean and has an open layout. They have your typical Vietnamese dishes but at a better price. I highly recommend the Vermicelli noodles with Shrimp, beef , and egg rolls ($10.25) or filet mignon pho ($10.75 - comes in one size) Their meat is very flavorful and their broth is to die for! They do have happy hour every single day 3-6:30pm and their beer prices range from $2.75-$5.25 during that time. Otherwise their beers range from $3-$6.50 so cheap nonetheless. I'm a big fan of how open their restaurant is and their customer service. They seem to have a lot of regulars and it's not hard to see why. read more

My son was craving pho. We usually go to a different pho place in hb that turned out to be closed today for renovation. So we came in here bc this place is literally around the corner from where we live. My son was starving so he finished his bowl of pho in 10 min lol. He said it was yummy but very little meat. We also ordered fried beef over rice. Same with this dish -man, lots of onions but very little meat for the dish priced at over $16. Small in size for the price and one of the most poorly executed fried Calamari I've had. Batter was soft, not crispy at all and still seemed somewhat thick (not a dust of crispiness). Pork and egg roll vermicelli (bun)- 4/5 stars. Meat and egg rolls were tasty, but definitely can pay less for comparable meal elsewhere nearby with more flavor in the sauce. I am visiting my sister from San Francisco and she treated me to eat at Saigon District 'House of Noodles & Grill' located in Huntington Beach. 5- STAR: First time for both of us at this lovely and extremely clean restaurant with a cozy vibe and good music!! 5- STAR: We ordered appetizers of Grilled chicken skewers - very tasty For dinner, we ordered: Grilled Chicken Pho and a Grilled Salmon Salad -yummy, delicious and super tasty! Drinks: My sister order a coke and I ordered a Honey Ginger Hot Tea - it was so delicious that I ordered a 2nd cup of that great tasting hot tea! 5- STAR: Service was outstanding! I was in the area and decided to order bun bo hue to go. The lady on the phone came off passive aggressive when I asked her what came with the soup since some places are different. We decided to place an order anyways because there are great yelp reviews. When we got there, the cashier helping us was very nice and had great customer service which is the reason why I gave this place another star. Bun bo hue was $14 a bowl and it was pretty bland and lacked a lot of flavor. It was definitely not worth it and was over priced. The portion was also pretty small. It was pretty disappointing! I asked for napkins for party of 7, and they brought out 2 pieces; I had to ask again for 3 more pieces. They never came to serve, but put an automatic service charge of 18% to our bill. I'm not really sure what to say or do with this place. New, nice interior, interesting menu ... The restaurant website states they are originally from Texas. The placement of this spot in the OC is a bit tough since Little Saigon is not far from here. Alright, so the menu has a lot of things, like pasta, hamburger, the churro basket (which I still need to try). Pho: A bit salty. The broth was a bit darker, maybe not filtered as thoroughly compared to other Pho restaurants? There was also a strong five spice and/or anise flavor in there. If this place is from Texas, I'm surprised this type of broth would appeal since it could be almost medicinal to some people (my friend would be one of them). Vermicelli: was fine but the fish sauce. Not very fishy at all. So you have an herb, driven beef soup for the pho which tastes pretty Asian ... Then you have the lightest fish sauce which kind of defeats the purpose of a Vietnamese spot. Heck sometimes when you go to a Vietnamese restaurant they will have the smelly, tasty fish sauce at the table for you to drown your happiness (and nostrils) with. The food was not bad. It definitely did not satisfy any of our cravings for Vietnamese food. Will I be back? Probably to try that churro basket with ice cream. That's about it. read more

Ok, so Wifey and I are always looking (hoping) to find a good food joint within our sphere of habitation. You know. Close to home. We found one. Lo and behold, Saigon District pops up in a location notorious for failed food joints that had met the above criteria. For whatever reason, the location is almost as sketchy for restaurants as the Southeast corner of Beach and Adams (either you get that one; or you don't) They've actually been here for a while. But, for us, they fell into the dreaded "we pass by the place everyday, we'll eventually try it, but never did" category. You know the one. Anyway. We finally checked it out and shame on us for not trying it sooner. First off, it's real clean inside. Now, I know you're probably thinking, "Uh yeah, restaurants are supposed to be clean." My response? - "I'm used to Bolsa when it comes to Vietnamese restaurants." One time, whilst at a Bolsa joint, I caught some movement from the rear kitchen area. Upon further inspection, I swear I glimpsed a water buffalo. No lie. The owners/staff are really nice and welcoming here. You can tell they have pride in their establishment and genuinely want you to enjoy your meal. Since this was our first time here, we put ourselves into the hands of the owners when ordering and went with their recommendations. Their menu is quite extensive with a pretty wide variety. We got/shared the tom yum soup, garlic rice with shrimp and eggrolls for an app. All were real good. We also had one of their imported beers. Czechvar, billed as the "last Czech Lager" (it says so right on the menu). Not sure exactly what that means, but since it was the "last," we didn't wanna miss out. We had two, in fact, just to make sure. Maybe being the "last" had something to do with the German Purity Laws being oppressive and stifling. Excellent beer btw. We will definitely get the pho next time since that is the true measure of any Vietnamese place. If you are new to Vietnamese food and wanna get your feet wet instead of plunging right into the deep end of Little Saigon (let's hear it Bolsa and Magnolia), this is a good place. And btw, Little Saigon is not the place to dive headfirst into. You will get hurt. There are other things on the menu here to ease you into the whole Asian cuisine thing as well. We will be back. Well, obviously my last review had me craving pho...and I had to head down to the OC this weekend, so decided to check this place out! It's tucked into a shopping plaza, right on a main road--super easy to find. The restaurant was fairly empty, but I went at an off time (330-ish.) Plenty of seating, with booths, tables, and bar choices. The menu is quite large and my server (I believe the manager) was super knowlegable about food allergies. I settled on The Filet Mignon Pho (meat on the side) and the Spring Rolls. The broth in the pho was super delicate--definitely one of the better pho's I've had. Noodles do start out a bit stiff, but loosened up and were delicious. All the sides are there--mint, lime, etc. Wine and beer selection--super cheap prices. Chicken looked like steamed in yellow food coloring just like the fried rice. People thought I ordered curry rice. I didn't notice any garlic...maybe they're too subtle. Is the food good? YES! Did I break the bank feeding my family of 6? NO! Is the staff friendly? YESS! Angela is super nice, full of positive energy and very pretty! Even a few guys came out from the back to top off our waters without us ever needing to ask. (And not that it matters to me, though it might to you, they spoke English very very well) Inside was very clean and very spacious with plenty of booth seating and table seating. I had no trouble navigating through the restaurant in my wheelchair. Accessibility was not an issue. I didn't use the restroom so I cannot comment or rate on that. Best Pho restaurant we've had.
