The wife and I decided to try this place out for lunch today. The place was packed (which is a good thing) but we were sat immediately. It took a few minutes before they took our order and another 5 minutes or so before our drinks were delivered. I ordered the beef ball pho and my wife ordered the chicken pho. Both came out very quickly and both were extremely tasty. In fact, I ended up polishing off what she couldn't finish. We ended the meal with some hot Vietnamese coffee, which hit the spot. The food was great, but the employees said maybe 4 words to us the entire time we were there. Better customer service would have earned a 5th star from me. Enjoy! read more

Been here more than a handful of times and it's good. The menu seems to be more extensive than way back when it first opened. Keeps busy for the location. I recommend the place if you like pho, bun or the french inspired sandwiches. Nothing mind blowing about the place and portions are to be expected, but a perfect goto when you just don't want to cook and you don't want to think to deep about your meal. Honestly, what keeps me frequenting this place from time to time is just its close proximity to me. If I'm craving a good bowl of pho & am willing to drive out farther, I'll usually forgo this place & hop on the freeway. However, if I'm desperate enough, I'll settle for here. Bowls of pho here are a tad pricier than many pho restaurants in general, and the regular-sized servings are not as large compared to those of other establishments. The broth definitely has a beefier, meatier quality to it, which might not suit those who prefer pho soups that taste "cleaner" or more herbal. The soup here lacks too much flavor in my opinion, so I always have to resort to throwing in veggies & black pepper.... I find that this restaurant's veggies (beansprouts, basil, onions, etc.) are of pretty good quality though! They never fail to add a flavorful kick to what would have been an otherwise sub-par bowl of pho.That, in addition to their beef stew with rice noodle, are this place's redeeming factors. read more

Saigon Noodle House is a pretty good deal for the money. I like to get the pho with the roasted chicken on the side, which is super tasty. Service here is not that great though, so don't expect to get drink refills even when the place is empty. read more

The first time we went there in 11/2009, it was OK but nothing special. The 2nd time we went there (3/10/2010) was a different story. The Pho broth was tasteless. It's almost like water. There was not much meat in my Pho #12. The grilled pork in my wife's vermicelli #52 had a lot of chewy/inedible tendons. The one in Diamond Bar is much better than this one. Guest and I had Pho Tai Nam and Pho Bac Biet, and split an order of spring rolls. Pho broth was weak and not tasty. Not much meat, and average amount of noodles. Spring roll order (2) has 2 small shrimp. Peanut sauce was generic. Service was slow and had to remind about spring rolls. Not horrible, just not good. Will try another place next time. Favorite is Pho Bac (Barranca in Irvine) or Pho 79 (Brookhurst/Hazard). Best place for spring rolls and Banh Mi is Dakao also at Brookhurst/Hazard. read more

THE Only reason why I give it a four star was because it was my first time trying the Pho-Shizzle Soup which had meat, thin noodles, baisel on a stem which I toe up and smacked in the soup, OH and some other green shit. My lady had the Flied Lice with Shrimp. I told her hey try some of this shizzo right here in the bottle and she was like "daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn that shizzo right there in that bottle is yuuuuuummmy!" This place is good, although I've only got the spring rolls there. The dining area is a bit bigger than your average hole in the wall pho spot. Its also nice too with wood floors. Very CLEAN! went here after a long day moving out of my apt. in orange, ca... i was looking for some pho on the way back... my roommate followed me to this place, when we were on our way back home towards the 60 fwy... i recall another restaurant belonging to this chain in Diamond Bar, but this was nothing like it. The interior was very contemporary. Compared to the one in DB, this didn't have some random ass paintings and mirrors... This had nice lighting, furniture, and some flat screen tvs... However, the booth's seats were sorta hard, like it had no cushion or something. The pho was actually pretty good... Broth was as good as it gets for fast food... I got the 9 dollar special which included a regular bowl of pho with rare steak and brisket, egg rolls, and a drink. Not bad at all... I don't know if I'd drive here from Chino Hills since I now live closer to the DB location, but I recommend this to the locals of Placentia as this is a diamond in the rough... read more

the pho here was pretty crappy and service wasn't all that great either. they mixed up the orders for our table. i think the guy brought out a Large #16 for my friend and said it was Large #12(my order) and i already dumped all the bean sprouts, peppers and leaves in there and started eating it and so we ended up eating each other's Pho instead of the ones we ordered for the first 2 of us who got the bowls. it didn't really satisfy my hunger either even though I got a large bowl. they hella skimped on the amount of meat in the Pho as well. the girls ended up not finishing their pho bowls...but lo and behold...I was still hungry so I ended up finishing their pho for them. by this time, the soup was lukewarm and they didn't put the peppers in the pho. that was a mistake because the soup tasted like crap without the peppers. oh yeah, we came here after a heavy night of drinking in hopes of curing our hangovers...but we actually all felt WORST after eating the crappy Pho from this place read more

Stopped by Saigon Noodle House for a late lunch yesterday with a few friends. I was surprised how many people eat at 2pm! They have a great lunch special - Pho Tai Chin + Egg Roll + Soft Drink for $9.50!! You can upgrade the egg rolls to spring rolls for an additional $2 and upgrade the soft drink to Vietnamese iced coffee for $1. Not sure if the waiter came up with those prices on the fly... but it sounded pretty reasonable to me! The pho broth is great and the meat was very fresh and tender. My ultimate test for pho restaurants is whether or not it makes me super parched afterwards... Saigon Noodle House passed, so I guess it's pretty good in my book. read more

They use breast meat for their chicken pho which disappoints me a little because I love my Vietnamese chicken noodle soup made with a whole chicken . They have dumplings for appetizers :) read more

They've newly remodeled so it's updated its decor and made it a little more "intimate" with low lighting and some slightly secluded booths and tables. The food quality has seemed to improve a little too. The charbroiled pork is very flavorful and a more generous helping from what we remember. My husband tried the golden fried chicken with fried rice which he said he would get again. The chicken pho is very satisfying and a favorite for my 3-year-old. The egg rolls were good, but a smaller order than what we're used to at other pho restaurants, it's actually 3 medium egg rolls cut in half. I wasn't a huge fan. From the start, Noodle House didn't imply Pho to me, so i was disappointed by the selection. Not that Pho is bad, it just wasn't what I wanted (ramen). My friend ordered a bbq pork plate and there were literally like 4 tiny strips of pork and a scoop of rice... (not worth $7)... never seen her so pissed about her food. This place isn't for everybody, but if you can appreciate the culture of Vietnamese food and have a palate for the distinctive flavors of fish sauce, shrimp paste, soy sauce, rice, and fresh herbs such as ginger, mint, and lemon grass, then this place is for you. All of the food is very fresh and authentic. They have a wide variety of options and I love to order the spring rolls with the peanut dipping sauce and the pho. Pho was mediocre. Service was horrible. Took the waitress about 10 minutes to finally take our order in an empty restaurant. She didn't write any of the order down. We asked for 2 sodas and had to remind her twice to bring them. Why not just write the order down and remember it?? Hmm. The second time we reminded her to get us our drinks, we asked politely for extra limes. I knew damn well we weren't getting those limes. I overheard another couple in the restaurant ask her for lemons also, and guess what? They def did not get those lemons. The waitress then sat down and proceeded to eat at her own table. People walked in and waited to be seated, and she told them to take a seat with her mouth full. It was not a good experience at all, especially because she literally has one job. So far, the best pho restaurant we've found in the fullerton/placentia area. But still not quite comprable to our favorite in Rowland Heights. Prices seem fair for orange county. A good variety of rice, pho, and bun dishes on the menu. Recently remodeled with some big flatscreen (?) TV's. Pho Noodle Bowl: Pretty delicious. Good amount of noodle + meat. Rice Dish: A good portion of rice & meat. Beef & pork cooked just the right way, soft, chewy, and some crunchiness on the edges. Coffee: I can't remember.... but I believe it came in a tall glass filled with ice. Still... can't find the a place nearby that serves viet coffee that drips into a cup for you to pour yourself into a glass. read more
