My husband and I went to the restaurant with another couple. First time for all of us! It's a very unique dining experience~~the menu offers a French side and a Vietnamese side. The menu is pretty extensive on both sides. We chose from the price fixed menu getting an app, entree and dessert. I chose the French while everyone else chose from the Vietnamese side. Well three years have gone by since I last wrote a review for Saigon Paris. The food is excellent and consistent. It is lovingly prepared by the Vietnamese chef who was classically . The steak Diane is excellent. Be prepared at table side. The other steak offerings are equally delicious. I have always enjoyed my meals at Saigon Paris. Please don't overlook this Restaurant. Dining tables set fine, dining with a touch of a rose usually. The atmosphere of the interior is to reflect a Paris restaurant. The staff are equally friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. We went on Easter Sunday and had a reservation although it wasn't crowded enough to need one. Breakfast and lunch options were available so some of us breakfast while other had lunch. We all enjoyed our food. Lemongrass chicken, bbq pork and beef, and a type of pho were ordered for lunch. Another person had a traditional eggs , meat, and French toast breakfast. I had the Eggs Benedict with crab cake (instead of ham). It was excellent (although the English muffin need to be toasted longer because it was chewy). The side of potatoes was cooked perfectly. Vietnamese coffees is very good but order it immediately because it takes a while to drip brew. Nice interior. Classy but not pretentious. Attentive waitstaff. Good portion sizes and great value. The Greeter-waiter said "oh that is not our just get rid of it."so I left it outside of their front door. Very rude..Ambiance was great ,quiet, white table cloths no loud music. Had soup and salad. Soup did not have much flavor crab corn chowder. The waiter the only one there he is also bussing table did not clear the table before giving us our main course. My salad plate was still on the table and he asked me to pick it up. I said" usually you would clear the table before serving the next course". "HE says I am busy". I am thinking to busy to do your job properly.Well that is your job and he had walked by our table numerous times with out clearing my plate. The restaurant only had 7 tables....My meal the bbq pork and beef had little flavor. The best part was the sauce but not much of it. The pad thai was excellent. the other seafood dish was good. Dessert. The chocolate cake was dry and the tiramisu was still frozen and not good.Skip the inexpensive dessert.The only drinks 2 for one before 6 was the cheap wine.Would I go back . My husband and I were staying at a nearby hotel and decided to try the Saigon Paris for dinner as we were staying at a nearby hotel. The first thing that struck me was the lovely ambience - a bit formal but not pretentious. Linen table cloths, fresh roses, and a pianist softly playing in the background created a pleasant atmosphere. The menu was half Vietnamese and half French. I ordered the seafood pho and my husband had the sizzling rice with shrimp, salmon and scallops. Both meals came with salads and fresh dinner rolls. The food was delicious! Our entire bill, including a couple of soft drinks only came to $45. A pretty good deal considering the top notch quality of our meals coupled with the entertainment. First impressions, I wanted to run. There seemed to be no one in the parking lot on a Sunday Afternoon, but their reviews kept me walking in the door. When you walk inside, it feels almost like a scene in the twilight zone or the setting of a movie during the luncheon of a funeral. The walls are green and yellow, the booths are upholstered with a floral pattern, no service, and their music is faint seems a little awkward. After being seated you get over the awkwardness slightly. Their menu is expansive, almost overwhelming. I had to just take the recommendation of our server. They have everything from breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I ordered the lemon grass chicken and was surprised when our waiter dropped off soup, I didn't know it came with soup! It tasted like chicken noodle. I enjoyed it. The lemongrass chicken dish was a cutler seasoned and laid on top of vermicelli noodles and layered on top of ice berg lettuce. I was so confused when I saw no sauce and I thought the lemon drop soup was actually supposed to be put on the food. Good thing I was mistaken, the dressing came out. I was relieved when the neighboring table asked the waiter how to properly eat their meal, at least I wasn't the only one who felt challenged. Eating the dish itself I appreciated that it was a huge portion. Overall, I did not vibe with the whole experience. My family loved the pho though, so when we come back I will probably give it a go. read more

The service at this facility leaves a great deal to be desired. I was there last night with a group of friends, we arrived at 5:30pm, the salads were served at 7:25pm and the entrée at 7:50pm. This was a one man show, Schuyler, was the waiter, bartender, cashier and possibly worked in the kitchen too. At my table, we ordered wine and the pours were not equal, one glass has much more than the other! And because we were a group they include 20% gratuity and an additional charge for paying with a credit card. Needless to say, we are not going back to this joint! read more

More like a 3 /2 star as I'd definitely go back to try again. Although the address is listed as on 41, the actual entrance is around the back. And then the restaurant is much bigger inside than it first appears. The place is charmingly decorated with flowers everywhere including a real red rose on each table. There are french paintings and floral wallpaper and period era lamps, etc. At the entrance is a fish tank with 3 huge koi. There are two sides to the menu -- one French and one Vietnamese. You can mix them if you wish. And for lunch there are separate lunch specials. The black board mentioned a beef stew special as well. Could that have been beef bourguignon dummed down for Ft Myers? The menu is large. You may want to read through it as not everything is grouped as you'd expect. In the middle is a bahn mi (sandwich) that sounded intriguing with pate, but you might miss it. I opted for their soup of the day (french side) which was crab bisque. Very creamy with bits of crab in it, it got better with a touch of salt. I followed that with a prawn appetizer (from the Vietnamese menu). It turned out to be 6 large shrimp lightly curried with a slit in each. A piece of very tender sugar cane was threaded through them, so three of the shrimp were on each "skewer". The shrimp were tasty and you could chew on the sugar cane to extract all its sweetness. On the side of the dish were some slices of tomatoes and a couple cuke slices and some lettuce which I mixed together as a side "salad" topped with the dipping sauce that I used as dressing. My husband ordered a Vietnamese pork dish -- unlike what we've had before, the pork was strip slices of grilled ham and there was also grilled beef in the dish. This lunch special entree came with an egg drop soup that he said was very good. We looked at their dessert menu just for future. Several things jumped out, including a Bananas Foster dish, but we figured it would be a little rich/much for lunch. Our server told us later that the chef makes the caramel flan (our other possible choice) and creme brûlée himself and that they are excellent. Prices were very reasonable so even those on a budget would do fine here for lunch. Well definitely be back when next in the neighborhood. read more

The only thing this place has going for it is Carol the pianist that plays Friday and Saturday nights. My server Skyler was too busy on his cell phone the entire time he served me. Put your phone away and stay off it while your at work unless it's work related. If so do it away from customers. Quoting Borat and cussing loud enough for customers to hear you isnt admirable. Neither is telling another server that their food is up in the window and to run it, apparently Skyler needs to learn a little something called teamwork. You're too busy on your phone to help your co worker run food? Because there were about 4 checks open at the time and 3 servers. But I over heard plenty of bitching about how dead it was. FIRE HIM AND HIRE AND TRAIN A REAL STAFF. The food is mediocre. The lettuce in my salad tasted fresh but nothing else wow'd me. The decor is out of date. The menu is convoluted. I am under the impression it is supposed to be a fusion of French and Vietnamese but there are Italian dishes on the menu. Why?! The menu is WAYYY too big. No restaurant needs over 100 items in the menu. Do a few things and do them right, stop over exerting yourself for crap no one wants and no one orders. Gordon Ramsay would shit his pants if he walked in this place. The atmosphere is terrible. Am I in an 80s Italian restaurant? Am I at Flea Masters? It definitely doesn't feel Vietnamese or like a French Bistro. This place needs a serious beer overhaul as far as decor goes. Dim lighting so you can't see what you're eating. IVY WALLPAPER. Seriously? Like I said, Carol the pianist is probably the only reason why anyone comes back to this place. As the name suggests a Vietnamese and French scratch kitchen. My wife and I went all Asian (in part because of price of the French). Her beef pho had a complex, savory flavor with notes of cinnamon. My bun bo hue had decent spice, tender noodles and tons of umami. Decor is a bit of train wreck, acoustics were bad and service was slow. One guy working hospitality, waiting tables and clearing. For two months, I went Pho-less and it is getting depressing now. Four of us went in Bell Tower Shops area, this is a perfect opportunity to have my Pho fix and satisfy my craving. So, we went to Saigon Paris Bistro for lunch. We did not have any wine or beer but merely hot tea, Arnold Palmer and a Vietnamese Iced Coffee. I have the beef Pho - a Vietnamese noodle soup with slices of flank steak and beef meat balls with a side of bean sprouts, basil, and sliced Jalapeno pepper. A tray of Siracha, Hoisin and fish sauces were not need as the broth is beef based and very tasty. Instant gratification as soon I put the spoon and the chop sticks in the bowl! Wife ordered Hanoi noodle - vermicelli noodle covered with grilled pork skewers and fried spring rolls. Others ordered the Vietnamese grilled pork and beef over vermicelli noodle and two spring rolls. While the last one ordered the Stir-Fried Seafood - Shrimp, calamari, scallops with a mixed vegetable medley and a side of steamed rice. They were all delicious and filling. My boyfriend and I got takeout from this Bistro last night. I already knew it was going to be a good experience from the moment I called to place the order. The man who answered was so polite; usually you'd think that's a given but this was a kind politeness I hadn't heard from someone in the service industry in quite some time. My boyfriend went in to pick up the food and said the restaurant was so cute and clean and that next time we're definitely going in to eat so we can experience everything. Okay onto the food! I got the chicken pho and my boyfriend got the Pho Tai. Everything was packaged so securely in our takeout bag. The pho was AMAZING. You can tell the broth was brewed with actual medicinal herbs (clove, coriander, etc); I could smell the clove as soon as I opened the container. I've had a lot of pho in my day that I would eat just cuz I was hungry (I mean that's what you do with food lol) but I've never had pho that felt actually gut healing like this. 100/10 would recommend this place to anyone looking for kind folks serving traditional pho. Fabulous food. French, Italian, Vietnamese - this place has it ALL! This is an unassuming gem hidden next to the Bell Tower Shops off Highway 41 and Daniel Parkway. Two of us dined - we shared the Scallops Marbella appetizer and both of us switched from forks to spoons to enjoy the first-rate sauce! Crazy delicious! I had the Steak Diane prepared table-side and, not only was it tender and perfect, it was the best I've had! My dining companion had Pho with rare beef and was happy as a lark. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed; the service attentive. Believe it or not, this place is like a chameleon... it serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. I've had lunch there and never been disappointed. This was my first time having dinner and I'll admit, I was skeptical. Even as I submit this write-up I'm planning my next visit! The coconut curry is to die for. If you think it tastes like the typical turmeric flavored curry you will be wrong. Not too sweet. And the heat after a moment or two is just right. I had the sea bass wrapped in banana leaf. It was outstanding. Tender and moist. My friend had an outstanding piece of prime rib. I went here because John D had given it such a great review. He did a great job in letting us know just how good the food is here. I have not gone for breakfast yet, so I cant comment on those prices and the quality, but if the food is anything like dinner I will be a fan. Our server was wonderful and our wine was fantastic. Excellent beef pho and Vietnamese iced coffee. Comparable to the pho I've had on Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City. Very authentic. I'll be back just for these two items. This is said the be french and Vietnamese food but its not a fusion as I had expected but 2 very separate menus. The location is nice inside but it can be a challenge to find the front door. Where you park is actually on the side of the restaurant. Once inside it took the hostess several minutes to find menus and get us seated. I took the time to look at thier fish tank...they have some crazy big fish in there. Once seated we got drinks and bread. The drink glasses for the tea and water were like 8oz and there isn't a water crafe left at the table so that was a bit of a pain. We didn't order anything I thought was too difficult but it took an hour for the food to show up. I will say mine was delicious; I had the chicken dejon with a small lump if smashed red potatoes and roasted Califlower mixed with other veggies. My mom had the shrimp dejon, both of these were off the french menu. My dad and brother ordered Vietnamese, dad's being shrimp. He said his was acceptable but he much more preferred mom's dish if shrimp. My brother got something that was a plate of mixed seafood. While good he said he was disappointed in the overall temperature of the dish saying he felt like it had been let to get cold. Overall we all agreed that the French nenu was the better of the two.
