Was very satisfied and shocked by their workflow. There was a line but we were seated very quickly. All of our food came within 10min. It was packed it there was only 1-2 servers on our side but our server Oscar was still able to check up on us frequently . Immediately when we were done with a plate, the busser was quick to grab . Sushi 4/5, I will say I've had better but everything was solid, ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE. Crazy 50% deal, especially since everything is getting more expensive!

I haven't been back here in years just because there's so many sushi places to choose from, but I'm glad I revisited because I forgot how good it was! We were a bit intimidated because it looked crowded when we first got there, but the restaurant is so large and we were seated within 5 minutes. It's a pretty dimly lit restaurant and it feels like a rave every time there's a birthday because they play really loud music with lights lol. Our servers were all very nice and grabbed our things very quickly when we asked for them! For the food, we started with the garlic edamame, chicken cutlet, and grilled salmon belly. They were all super well-made! The edamame and grilled salmon belly were seasoned very well, and the chicken cutlet was crispy but still juicy. Of course my favorite part was the sushi. Their nigiri prices are unbeatable for the quality and how thick the fish cuts are. My favorites were the bluefin tuna and the yellowtail belly, but everything was super fresh and delicious! It was so good that I'm literally going to go back in a few days with my other friend!

I travel all the time for this place. Not sure if the 50% off is just a marketing tactic but either way Im genuinely always satisfied after every visit. The staff are attentive, the bussers are always pre-bussing and the atmosphere is lively, it can be a bit too dark for older crowds. If your dining in anytime after 7pm, be sure to make reservations. Sometimes the wait line be out the door. They have another location off of Newport but in my opinion that location is not as good and much much smaller. My favorite appetizer is the Fried Jalepenos and my "go-2" rolls are the Green Goblin and the Baked Cheesy Carroll.

The menu and wasabi with soy sauce. Where is the low sodium soy sauce?

Ambiance ~ 4.5 if I want a quiet space, I won't come here. It's fun and uplifting Food ~ 4.4 excellent flavor and served quickly; would be nice to have sauce without sugar and low in sodium. Parking ~ 5.0 easy to access I'd come back from time to time. I won't be a weekly regular, though.

Yum! Love Sake2Me forever. Went on Mother's day so there was a bit of a wait and sushi wasn't as fresh as previous visits but the rolls were super good.

Slow service, no draft beer. Premium blue fin looked and tasted like standard tuna. Good jumbo scallop and Oc mango no rice. The interior is nice but service was subpar

Another great meal at S2M Sushi in Tustin. There is always a wait on weekends but it's well worth it. The 50% off the sushi and rolls is awesome! Servers are very attentive and you will leave extremely full. They play crazy DJ birthday music for those who are celebrating their special day!!! Definitely worth a stop in if you are around the area. Kampai !

Awesome experience great spot to get sushi. Definitely will be back again.

Great experience. Will definitely be back. The Ezekiel nigori tier 1. I recommend there red bean cream sandwich. The service is fast and the seat there is extensive and with vs x1 minimal wait time. And the great ambiance is awesome. Had a blast

I recently visited Sake 2 Me and it turned out to be a really solid find. I started with a sashimi selection featuring tuna, salmon, and yellowtail, and each one was fresh, clean-tasting, and nicely cut. The tuna was especially smooth, while the yellowtail had that perfect buttery texture you hope for. We also tried a few different sushi rolls, and they were well-balanced--not overloaded with sauces, but flavorful enough to stand out. The ingredients tasted fresh, and the presentation was thoughtful without being overly fussy. Their hand rolls are also amazing. They are packed with fish and flavor. To finish things off, we had strawberry mochi for dessert. It was soft, chewy, and just sweet enough, a refreshing way to wrap up the meal. Overall, great quality seafood, well-made rolls, and a simple but satisfying dessert. Definitely a place worth revisiting. The service was great. They were helpful, and they brought the food pretty quickly. they played great music and they turned off the lights and throw the DJ lights on when it's somebody's birthday.

Great sushi. I should come here more because the sushi is just great and well priced. I love it

We surprisingly got seated really quick even tho we were 4th in the waitlist. It's super busy here and plenty of seating, but crammed. The servers were nice but since there's limited room, they're sometimes up in your personal space trying to help other tables lol. This place is a great bang for your buck! The rolls are hugggeee with generous slices of fish. All of our food hit home, the only minor complaint I had was that some rolls were too saucy but that's honestly a personal preference. Come hungry!

Refer to pictures for food | menu. My family and I decided this place for the first time ~ (4.5/5 star) + The ambiance is okay, pick your day and time wisely to avoid waiting. We were lucky enough there was no waiting time + our server KIM was splendid in explaining the process and recommending us their popular dishes. She was very attentive with our requests and did her best with service. + Their AYCE with substantial varieties that my family enjoyed + food tasted great. - service had quite a bit of lag in terms of food prep. - their soda menu isn't refillable, it's individual cans. - no condiments on the table (soy sauce/vinegar), had to be requested. Overall, we had a positive experience. Will def. be back.

This has been my go to place!! I love to eat in and especially take out. They're so quick. Perfect for a date, quick lunch, dinner, any casual occasion really. Food: * Yuzu Salmon Roll: my go to. I've ordered this around 8-10 times now perfect if you like citrus, tang, and umami * Mexican Roll: good to fill you up. Classic roll with a hint of spice * BSCR: yummy scallops. a lot more scallops than I expected. rich flavor. very filling! if you're looking for a full meal in one roll, this is your order! Service: Attentive staff. I've always had good experiences here. Ambiance: I like the wood look. It feels cozy like a cabin. We got sat in a booth and it felt really intimate, I liked it.

Sake 2 Me Sushi Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Sake 2 Me Sushi

    Is it ayce?

No, but the rolls are 50% off so it pays off!

    Is that ayce restaurant?

No! They used to be I'm pretty sure but got rid of it a couple months ago!

Do they still have 50% off promotions?

Yes, they do. Unfortunately, their quality has gone down the drain along with service. I don't recommend them.

Is tip automatically applied to the bill? If so, how many people needs to be in the party?

I went last time with eight and it was added @ 18%

Do you tell the servers it's your birthday so they could sing to you?

Yeah just tell them. They have a cool blackout and EDM music jam that is really fun

    When will AYCE return?

My understanding is they are not going back anytime soon. Personally I love this system as you get half off and only pay for what you order.

Is it all you can eat again?

Sadly all you can eat is no longer available.

    Can you make reservations?

No I don't think they take reservations. It's a first come first served basis.

Is all you can eat back?

No. But it is 50% off

Are they open on Christmas (12/25/21)?

Yes they are open. I remember seeing a notice that they were open when I stopped in a few weeks ago. I am not sure of the hours though. I would call them to confirm.

    Is it AYCE again?

    Not yet

Are they open on New Year's Day? How much notice is needed for party platters?

Best bet to call them to make sure, lot of places their opening and closing and holiday schedule are not the same due to pandemic. They might give you information in detail if they are open or not .

Do they offer tuna belly or salmon belly sushi?

Yes, just recently added to our menu

Is the 50% off only for to go order? What about eating dine in?

50% also applies to dine in! There are some items that aren't but most are.

    When is AYCE coming back!!!?

Hopefully when everyone quits lagging it and gets vaccinated. 'Til then, 50% ain't too bad for takeout!

    Is the 50% still going?

Yes, and you can order online on their website.

Any word on when (if ever) they will bring back the all-you-can-eat option, now that all the state capacity restrictions have been lifted?

I talked to the owner yesterday and there are no plans to bring back all you can eat. He has many specials, 3 rolls for the price of 2. It comes out to about the same amount of food/price.

Are you planning to bring back AYCE? Confused as to why this location isn't offering AYCE but other location is :(

My opinion, don't think so. They're making more money with half off sushi, full price on appetizers, and anything else that's not sushi.

What is the larget party for ayce sushi at the moment?

Thank you for your interest in us! I am afraid to tell you that we are not serving AYCE at the moment. Instead of AYCE, we are offering 50% OFF on all orders of Sushi / Rolls…

Did you include AYCE on your menu yet?

Sorry, we are not serving AYCE yet. Instead of it, we are offering 50% OFF all orders of Sushi/Rolls/Handrolls. Thank you!

This place nickel and dimes customers for everything. We were charged $6 just to add cucumber to a roll, $4 to add gobo, and even an extra charge to add lemon. The biggest issue wasn't even the prices, it was that our waiter never mentioned any of these upcharges when we ordered. If you're going to charge premium prices for simple additions, customers deserve to be told beforehand. We've eaten at countless sushi restaurants over the years, and we've never been charged these kinds of fees for basic add-ons, especially without any warning. It felt deceptive and left a terrible impression. Restaurants don't lose customers over a few dollars. They lose them when customers feel misled. Transparent pricing builds trust. Hidden charges destroy it. We won't be coming back, and unfortunately, we can't recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an honest dining experience.

The curry was aromatic and came as a silky, soup-like consistency that coated each udon noodle nicely. It had a deep umami flavor. The udon was the ideal texture - thick and chewy. As for the beef, it was very tender. We shared a crunchy roll on the side. It was cut into 8 pieces. Every piece was super crispy and delicious. He double checked for us and main server hadn't sent our order to the kitchen. We had already waited 25 minutes in addition after placing our order. Our order came out very quickly after the realization. Unfortunately the lemon salmon sushi roll that came out seemed incredibly rushed. The roll wasn't tucked in so each piece we grabbed broke apart. The fried squid legs were good. The udon texture was good, but by the time our food came out, we weren't in the best mood. All the waiting and lack of service ruined our appetite. The 2nd server gave us a bag of salted noodle toppings to-go as a solace for the bad service? Our tradition for our anniversaries…read moreis typically going to an Omakase, and since moving to SoCal, it was a tough choice on which to land on, and I'm delighted we decided on Kuramoto. Chef Taiki is a powerhouse. Every dish is thoughtfully created, with such balance and flair! And he has a great sense of humour and commands his counter with such cheeky finesse. The setting is intimate, nicely airconditioned and comfortable seating for an Omakase experience.

The parking lot is small but I never had an issue finding parking when visiting businesses in this plaza. I made reservations for my cousin's birthday about a month prior through Tock. I was charged $100/person deposit to make the reservation. This is refunded on the day of your visit. I know they allow for lunch walk ins, but I believe reservations are required for dinner since they are a small intimate sushi restaurant and the chefs need to prepare some of these ingredients ahead of time. We arrived 10 minute prior to reservation time as instructed and we were seated towards the center of the sushi bar. In theory this would typically be one of the best seats in the house at any other sushi restaurant, but with the counter top being so high, I didn't really get to see any of the prep. Comparing this component to other restaurants in this price range. Also I felt like the chefs could have been more engaging... once again, just comparing it to similar experiences in this price range. At the time of our visit, the Kuramoto Omakase Menu ($220/person) composed of sashimi, starter, appetizer, 9 pieces of chef choice nigiri, interlude, specialty, featured, and then conclusion. We started off with a caviar tin with an assortment of fish eggs and some uni. This was one of the best bites of the night. Next was the chawanmushi, very delicate, contains oyster, shitake mushroom, gingo nuts, and shiso leaf. For the appetizer, we had a bite of karasume soba with mullet fish egg and quail egg. It was light and delicate. The quail egg really tied all the flavors together. Then for the nigiri, we had seabream with yuzu skin, kinmedai, amberjack with red yuzu, ocean trout, black cod with black truffle, stripejack with pickled wasabi and poprice, toro with uni miso, hokkaido uni with caviar, and ocean perch seared. The black cod with black truffle was one of my favorite bites. The interlude was a uni rice with unagi. I actually don't like how the uni was so mixed into the rice. The taste was less distinct than if I had the uni on its' own. I ate the unigi and tried to salvage the bits of uni I saw but at this point I was getting full and could not eat all this rice. Their specialty was a wagyu wellington. The name was more impressive than the execution. It visually looks like a handheld pot pie. To make it heavier they put it on a bed of potatoes. As I took my first bite, there was no "wagyu" There was very little filling. I think they can adjust the size of the pastry dough to fit the amount of wagyu they used instead of a huge piece of pastry dough with light filling. The savory items conclude with their featured dish, which was a Japanese dashi soup. For the dessert, or the conclusion, we had a shiso granita made with plum wine and white wine. My cousin's birthday, and other celebrations, were acknowledged with a candle lit dessert. I want to extend my thanks to Megume-san who took great care of us the whole night by refilling my hot tea, and clearing our space expeditiously. She was so sweet she even got a cup of hot tea for the road. Interactions with her made us feel like valued guests. Our meal was mostly enjoyable and my cousin had an amazing birthday celebration. I was just disappointed in the lack of showmanship for a meal in this price range.
