Friends have raved about Saki so my expectations were high, but the food did not quite measure up. Some of the maki were over-seasoned and needlessly complicated: eel sauce and tobiko were everywhere. We almost missed this place because it hides behind the pizza restaurant, but it was delicious! If you order 2 sushi rolls they bring them out on a mini sushi boat and it looks amazing. They definitely get 5 stars for presentation. The only reason I am giving them 4 stars is because their prices are rather steep, just like anything in P-town! The food at this place is simply to die for. Hands down the best sushi I've ever had. It's a little hard to find (my boyfriend and I walked right by it the first time) but the interior is very sheek and modern complete with what I called "elevator techno music". We were sat upstairs in the loft area which I recommend, although the lounge couches on the main floor by the bar looked super comfortable. For our appetizer we got the dumplings which is Saki's version of potstickers. I've had a lot of potstickers since they are my boyfriends favorite appetizer, and we both agreed that they were hands down the best we had ever had. For dinner we split vegetable tempura , spicy crab sushi, and fried lobster sushi which was one of specials of the day. Each was heavenly and I highly recommend each of them. The only reason why I gave Saki four stars instead of five was because our waiter was really off that night. He never came back to take another drink order even though I had asked, served me a drink that was meant for the table next to us, and never offered us dessert. That being said, I will definitely be returning to Saki, hopefully sooner than later! I'd love to be able to give it the five stars it deserves. read more

Best dining experience in Provincetown! Saki is the embodiment of great food, amazing atmosphere( converted Methodist church) and a staff that truly is hand picked by the best and conscientious general manager. The food was delicious. Very fresh tasting and presented beautifully on the plate. The servers were a tad bit over friendly. My friend and I felt like we couldn't get a moment alone. Usually, attentive servers are a must. It was just too much. The food came out quickly but we felt as though we were being rushed. Food and service were first-rate, and the atmosphere was exquisite. The server helped me pick some sake to with my meal, and it was the first time I've ever truly enjoyed the stuff. The sushi rolls themselves were both delicious and works of art. Our chicken lollipops were tasty and attracted a number of comments from fellow diners. Despite a few comments here about it being expensive, I didn't find it egregiously so considering the town this is in....and sushi, which tends to the pricey side to begin with. I have eaten a lot of sushi and this is the best sushi I have ever had. It is fresh and tasty. Try the seaweed salad for an appetizer - it is also amazing. The setting is an old church with high ceilings and gives a distinct open, warm and welcoming feeling. I try to go at least twice a year when I visit P'town. Was formerly the dance floor of the Euro, converted a few years ago into Saki. Great decor. If you can, get a table on the balcony above the main floor, it will be a little more intimate and not have as busy a feeling, and gives a nice view of all the action below. Food is excellent, by far the best sushi I have had on the Cape (definitely holds its own against the good NY and DC sushi houses). Fish is extremely fresh; typically I split one of the chef's selections (38 or 54 pieces, depending on which size you order) with a friend, and am always very pleased with the assortment. They also have a variety of pan-Asian (mostly Thai) cooked dishes for those who can't/don't eat uncooked fish. Cocktails quite good as well -- love the Passionate Tamarind. read more

Absolutely delicious! I visited for the first time ever the other day after living in town my whole life. I wish I'd gone sooner! I ordered the miso soup, veggie gyoza and white dragon sushi. SO GOOD! I fell in love at the first bite. The atmosphere is fun and friendly and the food is awesome! I honestly can't say whether or not I thought it was pricy, as I have very little sushi experience, but the price did not deter me from ordering as much as I did, nor will it stop me from returning. Arriving in Provincetown for our annual week there we tried Saki for takeout. It was about 5pm on a pouring Sunday and we didn't want to hassle with parking and walking in the rain. With the exception of the "Dancing" makimoto roll our order was bland and of supermarket quality. The restaurant looked interesting with its soaring ceiling height and huge capacity, but sadly the food did not live up to expectations. $37 for 3 rolls. The BEST sushi place in Provincetown. The atmosphere is great and it can get very busy. My favorites are the Spider Roll and the Lady Bug. The bartenders are always friendly and make a great drink. I'd suggest sitting at the sushi bar or the cocktail bar. LOVE Janet the hostess. People can linger at tables because the place is so good, so expect a wait if you have a reservation for that table to finish up. read more

I frequent sushi restaurants and this was by far the worst. It was outrageously over-priced for what it was; the sushi was good but $81 for 5 maki rolls that could have been a lot better. Overpriced food aside, the service was almost non-existent. Upon arrival, we were told by the hostess that a table was available and it just needed to be cleaned off, but then a man who appeared to be the head waiter told us we could only sit at the bar. Then, just as we were sitting at the bar, the hostess told us that we did in fact have a table. Clearly there was a lack of communication on their part. After this whole table confusion was over we waited at least ten minutes (probably longer) for someone to even come over to our table. After finally placing our food and drink orders (which we placed simultaneously due to the fact that it took so long for our waiter to make an appearance) the plate runner came over with food that wasn't ours twice, only to apologize and tell us that the system wasn't working, before our food ever came out. As this was all going on, I watched the plate runner go back and argue with the hostess over the fact that the system wasn't working. All-in-all a horrible experience and a complete waste of a large sum of money. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Worst service and over-priced food I've ever had the misfortune of experiencing. read more

We went to Saki for my future sister-in-law's bachelorette dinner and the staff was super accommodating and lovely. The food came in waves and, I think despite the fact that we were all uncomfortably full before finishing our dinners, all 11 of us enjoyed it. The highlight for me was the dragon maki, and the avocado maki was really good as well. A lot of folks ordered the Pad See Ew entree, and it was pretty good! Full of veggies but a little sweeter than I'm used to. My constructive criticism for the chefs is to cut the sashimi thinner for the rainbow maki, and arrange the fish differently on top of the roll. It was wonky and hard to eat. It wasn't the best sushi I've ever had, but it was good, and the ambience was really cool in the restaurant. We learned that it's in a converted church (some of the wood on the tables and counters was taken from the beams and floorboards of the old church before renovation) so it has a very temple-like feel. Try it out next time you're in the mood for good food! read more

The waiter got our drinks order wrong, but we liked him anyway (even though he was somewhat distracted by some good looking guys that came in). Simply put, Saki is one of the best sushi restaurants I've ever eaten at. After living just outside of NYC for the last 12 years, I've eaten at quite a few. Great Sushi, great service and really cool space, a definite must for any sushi fan. I had my doubts about a sushi restaurant in Ptown but was really pleasantly surprised. The hostess and waitstaff were great and super outgoing/friendly. The seaweed salad was fresh and delicious (hard item to find done right) and the sushi/sashimi were tasty and fresh. My companion has a gluten allergy (Celiac disease). We informed the server and were told that there were only three items on the whole menu that she could eat. (The manager even told us that they couldn't guarantee that the sashimi would be gluten free because of the possibility of cross-contamination, and then later came back and said that it would be ok.) We ordered all three dishes and at least one was made incorrectly. My companion came down with a severe gluten attack as we were leaving the restaurant. Went here on a rainy night last Friday. The staff was still able to accomodate everyone, even though they lost a lot of deck space due to the rain. We had two different types of sushi and they were amazing. Delicious, fresh, yummy! Also ordered two pizzas, which were also great. Great place to bring the kids (ours are teens), great people watching spot (probably the best in Ptown!). Very reasonable prices, the only "complaint" is the wine list....very limited. Was surprised they did not carry any of the wines from Truro Vineyards. Maybe next year! We loved it though!! read more
