I was super excited to try this place after how many good reviews it has already. We went on a Sunday for lunch (around noon) and were seated immediately. The booth was clean and comfortable, and the art on the walls in the restaurant is quite pretty. Our server was very nice as well. Lunch for All You Care To Eat is $18.99 per person. If one person at the table wants that, then everyone has to do it. Here's what I ordered... Avocado Salad: a nice start! Dressing didn't have much flavor besides a light sesame flavor, but the avocado was ripe and fresh. Tamago Nigiri: Good! It's sweetened cooked egg over rice. They wrapped it with some Nori, which I picked off because I don't like seaweed. Tempura Shrimp: Freshly fried. The batter was a bit thicker than other places I've had it, and the shrimp wasn't as good, but overall it was still pretty good. Gyoza: Meh... Was just okay. Beef Udon/Soba: This bowl is huge for all you can eat. So make sure you have room in your tummy for it! The beef broth was actually really delicious! It had the noodles which were nice and chewy, tiny pieces of beef, a couple broccoli, and some mushrooms. Yam Tempura: fried sweet Potato! It was delicious! Yakitori: this is a chicken skewer. It was surprisingly good! It had a nice flavor and wasn't dry! Tuna Nigiri (3 pieces): so here's where they docked stars for me. I ordered 1 piece at first with the tamago, and that piece was great! To finish the meal, I ordered 2 more pieces. Both of these pieces were not cut well. I couldn't bite them in half or chew them completely due to white lines of something (idk if it was a tendon, or muscle or what, but some part of the fish that was in the meat). The server didn't ask us if we wanted anything else before bringing the check, even though we weren't anywhere near the time limit. Overall, it was good value for the cost. I like how they have lots of non-fish items included in the ayce for those who don't like or want fish. There isn't much I would recommend on the menu unless you were going for unlimited gyoza, seaweed salad or something that isn't sushi. $30 a person you're better off going to a regular sushi restaurant and getting two nice rolls. Saw an ad for this place, decided to check it out with my GF. For the price and basic rolls, definitely worth the money. But for myself I like more variety and specialty rolls. Like I stated before very basic rolls, but price point is correct. They do offer alot of different varieties of plates to try and appetizers. I do think the portion sizes for them are great. Amazing!!! My family and I, 5 of us total. Our first time to ever eat at a Sushi buffet in Arizona and they did not disappoint. Everything we ordered was freshly made and perfectly prepared. Our server was very helpful on educating us on how the ordering with their menu's work and explained the difference between the lunch menu and dinner menu. We weren't left with any doubt on ordering our dishes. Not only did our server tend to us, but the team work and attention to our table was outstanding. Loved this place when it first opened (I usually HATE reviews that start like that!) but things have changed... For an all-you-can-eat place, price is good. But they have changed the shrimp that they use, and it's NOT good. Both the tempura shrimp (by the piece) and the shrimp that is used in rolls, is pencil thin, over-battered and over-fried (dry and hard - not crispy), and the shrimp has NOT been cleaned before being battered (the vein is still there - that's shrimp poop!) So many of the rolls are dependent on tempura shrimp that it makes ordering very difficult. As a side note... another reviewer said that they ordered one piece at a time, 30 times. Unnecessary: if you want more than one piece of something, you just write down the number of pieces that you want on the order slip. If you want to order more, just fill out another slip. read more

However, a lot of the specialty rolls were shrimp tempura which kind of sucks because you go to eat sushi to get the raw fish and not the cheap deep fried stuff. I got the two rolls on the menu that were the only ones with raw fish. You can still get so much food by paying $27 per person and I think it's worth it for as many appetizers, salads, soups, sashimi, hand/cut rolls, and specialty rolls. I am very disappointed in the overall decline in this little restaurant. I was so excited to have this place open near me. There are not too many all you can eat sushi places on the east side. The first time I went, everything was great. The staff was extremely friendly. The restaurant itself was very clean, and the food quality was good. They've been open for a while now and I've tried them twice recently and I've been disappointed both times. I understand that when you serve an all you can eat menu you need to save where you can but loading your sushi rolls with a pound of rice is crazy. Also, it seems like the two women that sit in the front by the doors are extremely judgmental and rude. I didn't even have an experience with them personally, but I could see it the whole time I was sitting there both times. They're not friendly, they're not nice, and they don't look happy. Sakura Sushi is chef's kiss for affordable and tasty AYCE sushi in the heart of Mesa (my geography might be off sorry). Ambiance wise, I would definitely give this place 10/10. I love the art on the walls and the sushi bar is a nice focal point. The AYCE component is pretty worthwhile. All the rolls are good and the appetizers are plentiful. You can also get stir fried udon and yakitori and tempura. I couldn't remember what rolls I had (we had a lot) but they were all really good. Just don't get only spicy salmon as a filling cause it gets redundant LOL. Please not: left over food will be charged at the manager's discretion. We probably had like 2.5 whole rolls (16 pieces?) left and we got charged for $8 which is totally respectable. We were too glutinous. read more

We placed our order and we only received 3/7 rolls and 4/16 appetizers. There is a 2 hour limit. In the two hours we did not receive our order and we were charged the full bill. Horrible service.
