Ordered a turkey club since I had time to wait for my concert in Fenway. Staff is disinterested in providing a high level of customer service. After 25 minutes of no action I asked for the status, the chick in the front leaves then comes back and says " he is working on it now" so clearly it took my double check for them to make my food otherwise I might be sitting there forever. Sandwich was mostly bread and mayonnaise. In fairness maybe I should've gotten pizza, or better yet, just walked down the street to Popeyes. Came to Sal's, like I often due when the sox are in town, for a slice. The service is overall ok. Sometimes you have friendlier help that you can have a conversation or a laugh with, sometimes it's strictly business. Today it seemed as if the whole place was being run by younger individuals who really didn't care. A few times while I was waiting the phone just kept ringing with 4 people behind the counter. Ordered my pizza and asked that it was cut in half. When my pizza came out, they didn't bother to cut it. Not the end of the world. 2slices came out and I asked that mine was cut and if I could have it in a bag. The kid grabs the cutter and the other guy asked that he change the channel to nesn (why it wasn't done before the game started is something I don't understand as I can't remember any time I was there and the game wasn't on). Instead of cutting my pizza and putting in a bag, I had to listen to them go back and forth on what NESN was. What really got me is when it was finally figured out the kid cut my slice and put it in a bag and I held my hand out to take it. Instead he puts it on the counter and spins/ slides it to me. About the worst slice I've ever had- and for $6.25. Both sides of the oversized slice had massive bubbles in them. Guy have me the worst slice of a new pie. Staff completely doesn't care. Would've been better going into the game and buying the junk in there. read more

Was that the Boston Marathon after party at Fenway Park. Came here to get calzones. My friend and I both had calzones. They were huge. Very tasty. The pizza's here look really good as well. We both said if we run Boston again next year we'll come back and try the pizza. Coming from Houston, you don't see hole in the wall pizza places quite like this. The employee told us papa johns....then dominos. I am a NE native....I do not eat at those places for good pizza. I am in town from Dallas and was in search of good pizza. My family and I ate here while going to a red Sox game, and while our experience was modest, it was not perfect by any means. For 4 slices of pizza and 4 drinks, it was 38 dollars (ridiculous) but nonetheless, pretty damn tasty. The bathroom situation was pretty bad, considering it was one person at a time, and seemingly everybody taking a dump that day. I work right outside this location, big fan of Sals from Hampton Beach so I was excited at first. After a few visits: - The pizza isn't the worst I've had, but for the price it's not very good compared to other area options. - The service is not great. Don't believe me? Try calling in and you'll believe me after hearing their tone. In my experience here, every staff member has been rude. - The only reason I'd give one star is for the cheap pitchers ($7). If you are looking for a place that has half the things on their menu available then Sals is for you. This place place is run like a machine that had never been oiled. Whoever does their inventory should be fired. They never have half of their menu items and it's filthy in there. Arrived here at 11 when it opened. Watch as pizza pie after pizza pie were pulled out of the oven and sliced up for slices. So many different combination to choose. But you learn quickly just pick one because the slices are a quarter of a pie and to big for 2 . Today's choice was pepperoni and onion. Delicious, and the staff is great too read more

Totally appalled!!! This was the closest place to our hotel. Ordered a pizza to go. The cashier who helped us had a bottle of bathroom cleaner in her hand as she took my order- should've been my first clue. Requested add pineapple. Sat down with boyfriend. The 2 young workers sat and bullshitted with the cook in his office while our pizza cooked. They were all swearing and laughing having a great time with their backs turned to customers. The place was dirty. 30 minutes later my boyfriend asks the status of our pizza- cook says "oh shit" runs to the oven and says he would make us a new one if too crispy. Wow!! I wasn't willing to wait another 30 minutes and listen to their unprofessional behavior. He apologized and gave me $6 back for the additional topping of pineapple. Terrible service - you politely give your order for the woman to yell it back to you! We heard amazing reviews about this place (we drove over 800 miles for the weekend) .. Just to have most likely the worst experience! We walked away with the incorrect order, after waiting over 50 minutes - thankfully with giggles after the entire experience. The woman yelled out our simple order of cheese pizza and we simply said "yep!" To which she responded, loudly and increasingly rudely in front of a large crowd; "holy, EASY!".. We said "sorry!" (again, sorry.......) And the cashier pointed at me and said "she looks scared!".. The entire situation caused a notable scene in which other customers who had raved about the pizza while we were in line apologized for the servers rude tone! Which in turn made us feel awkward for the restaurant...... Boston has been nothing but beautiful, clean, welcoming, friendly, and polite.. Hands down an amazing weekend with nothing but positive reviews but this restaurant, no doubt.. Was a total letdown. Cheers to Boston, sadly a throw down to Sals! read more
