I ordered a chicken parmesan hoagie and fries. Not only did it take almost an hour but the sandwich was cold and slimy when it got to my house. I have been ordering pizza from here for almost 20 years and have noticed the quality and consistency slowly declining over the last few years as well as the bad attitudes and incorrect orders. Tonight was the last straw for me, after waiting almost 2 hours for my pie it finally arrived and was literally inedible. I don't know if there's been an ownership change over the last two months, but the quality has slipped substantially. In the last 5 days, I have called to order Chicken Francaise at 9 o'clock, only to be told they were out of chicken. When I ordered the next night, they did have chicken, but it was the worst I ever got from Sal's. Tonight, I ordered a plain pizza and mozzarella sticks, a very simple order. I ordered at 8 o'clock and was told it would take 15 minutes. When I called again at 9 to cancel my order, I was told the guy was walking out now with it. Ridiculous. Anytime a restaurant runs out of chicken, it's not a good sign. When their deliveries take more than 4 times the stated delivery time, there's serious problems. read more

We're fans! The pizza looked, smelled and tasted like how pizza from my childhood. Perfect blend of cheese and sauce, and flavor and consistency of the dough was perfect. Buffalo wings were absolutely terrific, and would definitely recommend. There's nothing worse than ordering wings, and being disappointed. I rolled the dice, and hit the jackpot! It doesnt look like much, BUT Sals is THE best place for pizza and Italian dishes in town. Just classic, quality Italian food and nothing else. They have never let me down in anything Ive ordered. There are plenty of other places on town, but none compare with Sals. Sals, I stick with you. Good luck always! read more

If you go other places it seems you always have to say, "extra cheese" to get that fair layer that's thicker then the crust and binds to the sauce. Sal's is a good honest pie. The pepperoni is excellent but the sausage is mundane. The wings are crispy and just hot enough to not want for more. read more

DO NOT go to this pizzeria. Worst experience I've ever had at a pizzeria. I work right up the road from this pizzeria so I figured I would call for delivery and give it a shot. I ordered the penne vodka with chicken and then I asked him if I could swap the salad out for a soup and then I asked if it would be an extra charge and his reply was "I'm not sure if I'm going to charge you for the soup or not... um ok? it gets worse, so I wait 20 mins for the food (fine) as the guy pulls up he was all sweaty and had the receipt hanging from his mouth then put it down in front of me (while it was drenched in saliva mind you because it was not raining) and asked me to sign so, I was kind, signed it and gave him a decent tip. I opened the bag, no spoon for the soup (cool, ill find a way to eat my soup with a plastic fork I have at work), no fork for the pasta, no napkins, no butter for the bread and the vodka penne had prosciutto in it. Now don't you think you should specify on your menu (that I now have ripped up so no one can order from our salon)?!. What if I was allergic or just couldn't eat meat. SPECIFY its courteous. So I called the pizzeria back because I was very annoyed at that point and I told him everything and his response to my was yeah, most penne vodka comes with prosciutto so I started to get nasty and said that well all the previous restaurants I ordered from must have been the handful that didn't have prosciutto and he OK'd me so I told him that I would no longer be ordering from there anymore and he said ok and hung up. He didn't even OFFER to drive up A BLOCK and bring me a spoon? fork? even napkins? nope nothing. I was very peeved off and they won't be getting business from here anymore. I'm not a meat eater so I had to throw my $18 worth of (bland food anyway) in the garbage and the soup tasted like water so I tossed that too maybe I was better off with the salad cause you cant really screw up lettuce right? unless you work at sal's I guess. I totally do not recommend this place. This is my first review ever written on Yelp but I really do not want anyone else to go through the headache BELIEVE ME. Disgusting. My suggestion would be Sabrina's (next to sals on rt 130) or perhaps manninos in hightstown (their portions are huge for a great price). Do yourself the favor do not eat here. read more

Poor service and owner was very rude when I explained the delivery order was not correct. Food is ok as long as you don't get the wings but certainly not good enough to put up with poor service and rude treatment of customers. Sal's is the first place we ever ordered from after moving to the area. The food is consistently good. Very good NY style pizza. Awesome (and HUGE) cheesesteaks, chicken cheesesteaks and meatball parm subs. Pasta dishes are very good as well. We've never had an issue ordering from Sal's in almost 15 years of dealing with them. Definitely one of my favorite places to go. I love this place! My boyfriend introduced me to the place in 2002,a and we have been loyal customers ever since. The food is AMAZING, and the service is exemplary. Even when one orders in the restaurant, one will not have to wait long at all. I have never seen such a team of competent, friendly, hardworking people in my life. I'd also say the prices are very reasonable, and even if they were outrageous, it would be well worth it. Great pizza, great service and the owner is friendly. I am glad that this place is under new ownership...last owner was rude most of the time. Only other advise- stick with the pizza the pasta is nothing special and costly. The same with the salads. read more
