Saltgrass Steak House has always had good food for me. I have been here several times and have had my steaks cooked perfect medium rare all the time. The sides aren't always as good but I usually don't pay attention to the sides until my steak is gone. By then I tend to be less critical about them. I have had mushy rice before and baked potato not so loaded, but again those aren't really stressed upon. What does stick out more is the service here. Some meals come with really good service, some comes with almost no service. Our last visit was the latter. We were patient and understanding of the situation but it just seemed like our server was new or that he was very forgetful. It took a while to get our drinks and food. He would bring out every drink but 1. And forgot a side also. Though the evening was a social one where we talked and ate slowly, it is awkward to have but 1 drink in front of us. Covid may have a role in the bad service but it is not like they were full. Hoping to have better service in our next visit. read more

I have been here several times for business lunches and meeting up with friends. I really enjoy the steak and have had the prime rib and several of their other steaks. The issue is I always tend to have very average sides. I have tried many different ones but none have been great. The service has been mixed depending on the server. I have had one that was awesome but then the next time I come in a get very mediocre service even though the place was fairly empty. So you can certainly count on getting a great steak but the other factors that make a restaurant good to great just dont seem to be there. read more

Me and my best friend were really curious to try this restaurant since we both live in the area. We walked in, a hosts immediately greeted us and offered us a tablet. We got to choose our tablet since the restaurant was not that busy that night. We ordered drinks, and for our surprised they brought a big piece of bread and cream and salad. No, we didn't ordered it and hopefully we weren't charged for. After that we, we ordered the food, we got Shrimp, steak and chicken. Ugh we added Macaroni and cheese. That is like a homemade and awesome Macaroni and cheese . The steak and chicken portions were big enough and delicious for two people . Also, my friend got two glasses of wine and I got a margarita. I was there with friends on Saturday for a late lunch an there were not very many people there. I decided to order the dinner portion of the chicken fried steak, as my friend indicated it was fabulous. Along with it came a salad and I also chose the mashed potatoes, which were loaded. The portions were huge and I definitely had enough for two more meals, which I like, as this was rather pricey. The chicken fried steak was very tasty, not tough or over fried, with the gravy on the side. The loaded mashed potatoes were very tasty. I also appreciated the nice large Caesar salad with tomato's and grated Real Cheese Slices. They also make their dressings in house and the Caesar was dressing was delicious. We decided on Cheesecake for dessert, which was a Nice Large Slice, unlike some restaurants who bring you a tiny sliver for a ginormous price. They make their desserts in house, as well and the cheesecake was Fabulously Delicious. Very smooth and creamy, just how I like my cheesecake The waiter was very helpful and would return frequently, to make sure our needs were met. We were seated at 4:45 pm. We ordered our food and it took forever for it to come out. I sat facing the kitchen so I could see when it came out. When the food got to our table my friend's steak was cold, the baked potato was not done, and my cheeseburger was still bleeding. We notified the manager, and he immediately took our plates and placed a new order. Again, we waited for a long time for our second order to arrive. Looking at the kitchen, the staff was not doing their job but rather paying attention to the football game that was on at the bar. DONT recommend this place. It's bio is more impressive than the service and staff I have encountered. I brought my family here last night. My husband and I had stopped in nearly two weeks prior to observe what kind of place it was we sat in the bar, I had tea he had a Manhattan. They made his drink perfectly. I was disappointed to only be served Lipton black tea in a mug. But the staff that night was interactive and caring. It was full of stockshow families and the plates being served were of perfectly charred looking steaks and sides seemingly fresh. We had two staff members ask if we were being cared for and our male waitstaff was engaging even though we were drinks only. Tonight, it was the opposite. The waitress we had, was robotic, seemingly over her job. We had literally placed our backsides in the chairs and she came, said hi, plopped menus in front of us said her name quickly, then asked if we knew what we wanted. We responded nicely to try to reset the pace, we just have sat down and haven't looked yet at our options and stated she sure looked busy. She said not really and then left. My husband and I are foodies. We both also work in serving our communities through our careers. We get that people can have bad days and show cranky and rude but we are super easy to serve. There is a process. A greeting, be interested if we are new or returning, notify us if there is a special or change in your menu near the end of the work day, maybe let us know what you are most famous for.... not a peep. She wanted us to order, eat, and pay. So we did. We were new here. We watched another table get the process. While we waited for our food that we were hoping was going to be amazing the manager was going to every table near is that had been waiting before we sat, apologizing for lack of food available and offering substitutes or to make food himself (but stating it wouldn't be great) By 730pm they were out of mashed potatoes, prime rib "worth serving" and Brussel sprouts. Our salad came quickly, not even half way through our salad, came our steaks. This was really my snap. Timing. I paid $40-$50 per person and I don't want to be rushed thru my dinner. As a guest in your establishment, I don't want to choose between my conversation and settling into the dining experience or to be force fed. We ordered a filet-med., strip and ribeye med. rare. All meat was nearly rare. The ribeye was barely warmed thru. the waitress, served the food asked how it looked and left. She never came back except to drop her check and asked how things were. We stated the veggies were mushy and salty. The meat was under done. Not asking before if we were satisfied with our cook on the meat or needed/wanted something else. The bulk of staff at 805p were cleaning the floors, some sitting at tables and trying to do the end of shift work while patrons in a half full restaurant were sitting and still eating. I've been here about five or six times total. Every time I come the hostess is very nice and welcoming, the service is always good, and the food is on point! I've eaten at the bar and had a great bar service, and even in the dining room with equally good service. The ambience and decor are what you would expect. It's worth noting that if you come after 530 there will likely be a wait especially on the weekends. But, they do call aheads! The steak tacos are awesome! My mom loves the sweet tea, it's one of the only places out west you can actually get a good sweet tea. It's a steak place, so you should get some beef, and the ribs are totally worth it! We usually order from here...or dine in at least 3-4 times a month. Each time over the past 6 months the service here has turned to dirt. Tonight they handed half our order to a Grubhub driver....and left it in his hands to explain why half the order was missing...........these a-holes charged $11.00 for 3-20oz bottles of soda....that they dont even keep on hand, yet its on there menu ??....how dumb can that be at said obvious profit margins (but I guess your profits even more when you charge $11.00 for something you do not provide at all....right ??) Then when you call there...you get some smart mouthed young gal, go figure (thats rude)....asking YOU to call Grubhub and resolve your problem with them??....and wait to get any refund ....typical no accountability for lousy service at this place.....not smart losing a customer that (use to) spend about $500 a month there ....it WAS NOT Grubhubs fault you carry no bottled pop that you have on your menu Salt Grass.....and it was not Grubhubs fault that half of what we ordered was not even there..... ....apparently you have some employees that either can not read.... are just plain dumb, or simply do not care....(Probably all three is our guess) read more

Went to Saltgrass for lunch today. Everything was perfect. The food was fantastic and the service was right on target. Our server was Andrea. She made sure everything was to our liking. The manager was very interested in knowing if everything was done right. We are Select Club Members and our wonderful experience today is why. My husband and I ate here tonight for the first time and it exceeded our expectations! We arrived around 5:30pm and were told there would be a 15-20 minute wait but we found a table in the bar so we snagged it. After a couple minutes of looking through the drink menu we were greeted by one of the bartenders/severs, Richard, and he was very friendly and enthusiastic! He took our drink and appetizer order right away, recommending the Range Rattlers (Jumbo jalapeños, shrimp, Jack cheese, cilantro, ranch dressing) so we ordered those. We got our drinks first, the Tropical Sangria and Texas Tea which were both good and another server dropped off their beer bread which was very soft and warm. Richard came back to take our dinner order and our appetizer arrived about 10-15 minutes later covered in yummy fried onions. It was a good choice! Next, he brought out my wedge salad and my husband's chicken tortilla soup. Both were delicious! The soup was light but flavorful and my salad was crisp and fresh. About 20 minutes later our main dishes came out. I had the Smothered Strip, cooked medium, topped with caramelized onions and mushrooms. It was perfect! Didn't even need to add steak sauce. My husband had the 12 oz prime rib and garlic mashed potatoes. His was cooked medium rare and had a lot of flavor! The mashed potatoes were fluffy and SO good! We couldn't even finish our food so have leftovers for tomorrow. We ordered the Carrot Cake to go and it is a MUST! Very moist and again, yummy flavors. They give you a good size portion for what you pay, in my opinion. They were really busy tonight because of the Stock Show but Richard never left us hanging and was very friendly, attentive and helpful. We will definitely be back! read more

VERY delicious! We are from California so we've never heard of Saltgrass before. I got the gulf coast centercut and shrimp. Mouthwatering delicious. The grilled shrimp was seasoned and cooked to perfection, shrimp is normally hit or miss at restaurants so I was very pleased. My start was cooked perfectly, didn't even need A1! The garlic mashed potatoes were so creamy and delicious. My fiancé got the smothered steak (can't remember which steak) with the Mac n cheese and baked potato soup. He said that he never had better baked potato soup. He devoured his steak and said the Mac n cheese was delicious. The restaurant was extremely busy yet the service was great! Would be a better review if the manager had been a bit brighter. Ean or Elton or Elliot something like that. A friend and I had dinner the other night, my friend was in from California on business and left card behind I called before restaurant was supposed to be closed, no one answered. My friend had to be in New Mexico early next morning and would not be able to grab card since restaurant doesnt open very early. Next day I called to see if card was there it was and I can understand I am not name on card, however I was there when card was left behind, and knew the name on card. Also asked if my friend could email a pic of his i.d. with name matching name on card giving permission for card to be given to me I was told no. So now my friend is gonna have to cancel card get a new card, and deal with any accounts that are set up for auto withdrawal. I mean to me logic says chances are that if I didnt know card holder how did i know it was left there? And how would i know someone with exact same name not a common name at all, and how would they be able to email a pic of there id and signature and my name allowing me to pick up card. My second negative experience with this restaurant. The first one was after hours misrepresented online verses what they really are. Will not return for a third negative experience. Given that my friend does a very important job in the medical industry and is 1 of maybe 30 that do what he does so he doesnt have alot of extra time to deal with something that if looked at logically could be handled with a 2 minutes email. The manager was a bit of a snot. We received a gift certificate for our 25th anniversary, so we thought we would reserve a booth ahead of time and go a little early. The hostess took us to a booth, but there was one in a corner next to it which we preferred that the hostess said we could have. After the waiter brought the menus, we told him it was our 25th. No big deal to them; the manager arrived and coldly made us move, stating that the corner booth had been requested by someone else. We sheepishly acquiesced. The food was good except that my wife's farmed Salmon Oscar was a bit dry and fishy with 3 miniscule pieces of crab on top. They must have been running low on crabmeat. Needless to say, it was aggravating that the corner booth remained empty until our desert arrived and the hostess asked the couple if it would be okay. It didn't sound as if they had reserved it. Even casual restaurants will make an effort to comp a desert or drink for such a special occasion, but not Saltgrass. They were more interested in suggesting how much we should tip than making a simple, kind gesture after rudely making us senior citizens move from the booth on our 25th anniversary. They get 4 stars for decent food, excellent wait staff and good ambience, but they should at least acknowledge special occasions. read more

I had a terrible dinner experience at the location in Parker. My steak came out undercooked. However, the problem was that it was so tough we could not eat it and had to send it back. Someone came over and offered to cook me another steak but informed me that if I chose the same cut it would alsl be tough. This person did offer to bring me another cut of steak but at this point I had loss my appetite for steak. This was my favorite steak restaurant but I will not return. First timer (writing a review on Yelp, and going to this establishment) here - so please bear with me as most of this may seem a bit nitpicky. I apologize for not providing pictures as evidence of all of the things that were wrong with our experience --- it was about halfway through our experience that I decided that I'd dive head first into this Yelp Review thing. A good friend of mine recommended that I check this place out, so my girlfriend and I decided to saunter in at about 3pm on a Saturday afternoon (05/06/2017). First impression: Taking a look around as we walked in, the atmosphere was that of similar Steakhouse chains; however I would say that this was a nicer version of Their biggest competitor (no peanuts all over the damn floor, heck yeah - AND - not nearly as congested). Seating: We were seated in a less than ideal area - not only were we placed along the bannister closest to the entrance of the kitchen, in a small booth for two - we were in the closest seats to the kitchen, Which posed a handful of problems in and of itself. Firstly - the staff at this location (not sure if this is a common practice at ALL Saltgrass Locations, but it is definitely taken advantage of here) utilize the bannister to house various things (water Re-filling jug, Napkin holders, trays with silverware,etc). It's a bit distracting having someone walk within a foot or two of you every 2 minutes to grab stuff off the bannister. The only PRO of this seating arrangement was that my girlfriend was able to visibly monitor when meals pop up on the counter versus when they're actually taken to their table. Ordering Food: Overall, the interaction with our waitress was pleasant. She may not have been the quickest (we weren't in a hurry - but since we were conveniently placed near the kitchen - we could see when orders came up. Our salads were up for about 10 minutes before the waitress grabbed them and brought them to our table), or most attentive - but she was super friendly. Housekeeping: I had to excuse myself so I could watch my hands - although a night restroom, all three waste bins (one large wastebin on the floor next to the door, and the two countertop waste bins) were overflowing with paper towels. Drinks & Food: The bread and butter that they bring out is similar to what similar chain steakhouses offer. Definitely comparable to what you've gotten elsewhere. I was feeling wild - so I ordered the Texas Tea (which is apparently a Long Island with a splash of Tequila). Hands down the best drink I've ever had. Quenched my thirst, and got me F****D UP! That's a W in my book. The CAESAR salads were amazing (when we finally got them). Like -- probably the best I've had in a very long time (the salad and Texas Tea had me super excited for everything else.......) I ordered the Surf & Turf (12oz Ribeye with Grilled Shrimp) with Broccoli as my side. The steak (although a bit flat, I mean... what do you expect for $26?) was grilled to perfection and had a great taste. The grilled shrimp was packed with flavor, but I did notice that they were NOT de-veined. So I had to cut around the source. The broccoli was very obviously microwaved and was rubbery and had burn marks. The Misses ordered the Gulf Coast Steak & Shrimp. Her order seemed to be alright. The steak was grilled to perfection, the fries were amazing - the butterfly shrimp left a lot to be desired (but again, what do you expect for a $25 plate?). No real complaints in her end other than the shrimp. After much deliberation, we decided on a nice 3 star review --- AND ONLY because I couldn't give this restaurant 2.8 stars (come on Yelp! Get with it). As I mentioned earlier - I've never done a review on yelp, but if I had - I'd say that my experience at places like Chili's, Applebee's, etc would typically fall around 2.5. So let that sink in. Overall -- a decent experience, I guess. For 2/3 the price, better service and BETTER FOOD I would have rather stepped on a few peanuts. read more

Last minute dinner decision. Ordered a beer and a ribeye. Opted for an upgrade on the veggies to Brussel sprouts, wrong decision; totally not worth it. Veggies were overcooked and there was too much sauce. Can't really go wrong with a ribeye. It was nicely cut, perfectly cooked to Medium as requested and lightly seasoned to taste the quality of the beef. 3 out of 5 stars. Nothing fantastic....basic and it definitely satisfied my craving. The place wasn't even that crowded, but our waitress did not do a very good job. Took forever to bring drinks, salads, food.....could have mentioned it, but hell, we all have bad days. This could have been one of those for her. Despite the slow service, she was friendly and otherwise, no complaints. I rated this review 3 stars because I've been spoiled with Ruth's Chris steakhouse and Sterling's steakhouse. The filtet we ordered was cooked to perfection, and was seasoned accordingly. However, I'm simple, and I like just salt and pepper, too much season takes away from the natural flavors. With that being said, the steak we ordered was pretty good for being a large corporation food chain. A lot better than Outback, Texas Roadhouse steakhouses. I had high hopes for this restaurant only because the prices are high and I would think the service would match. Very very disappointed. We were served dried up hard bread and was told it must have been cooked to long. Then we were served soup which mine had hair in it I brought it to the waitress attention. She said oh I'm sorry can I get you something else. Normally they say let me get the manager no that never happened. Steaks are 40 dollars at least the ones we ordered were neither one of them came out as requested. Once again the waitress chuckled and said that aside from the few hiccups we experienced hope everything was ok. Never will I refer anyone to this restaurant here in Parker Colorado. My wife and I were going out for dinner with another couple. They were bored with Red Lobster and one friend doesn't like Outback, so we took a chance on this restaurant. It was a pleasant surprise. The dining area is one big room, but with the Covid-19 concern seating was limited so the noise level wasn't overbearing. The staff was friendly and our waitress was very attentive and checked on us regularly. Our steaks were cooked exactly as how we ordered them and the Texas toast was great. Texas toast was a regular with all steak restaurants in the past but it is rare to find it now. But Saltgrass got it right. The salads were generous with lots of dressing. My baked potato was a bit overcooked and dry, but still good. My one complaint was the bar. I ordered a double whiskey sour. All bars give you a bit of a break on the price when you order a double but this bartender charged me for two whiskey sours. Shame on him and Saltgrass for ripping customers off this way. Overall we enjoyed our food, the atmosphere, the service, and the price was average for most mid range restaurants. When we go again I will probably stick with water, pop, or one glass of wine since the bar is so expensive. read more
