The services is always great and walls are packed with plenty to look at. This location in particular is always clean and busy so you know it is good. Outdoor seating where we could bring our puppy, and 3. Close to the hotel right off the highway. We found it all, and a lot of traveling dog owners seemed to find it as well! I made the mistake of not understanding the kind of restaurant this place was. I incorrectly thought it was a tavern like an inn kind of restaurant. I was happily wrong. This is a place of legends. It is attached to a gold course. Many famous people have been through and left signed autographs etc. the ambiance is cozy, upscale, warm and very relaxing. The service was excellent. I brought a champagne for dinner and the service was helpful with bottle service. We both had the ribeyes and they were absolute perfection. The entire meal was lovely and we had a very sweet server who took great care of us. He was actually celebrating his birthday exactly the same day as my dinner partner so that was a lot of fun. i really enjoyed the lighting, dark wood and table arrangements. we stopped by after arriving in savannah for dinner. service was slow but our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and offered menu favorites. although there were not an excessive number of people in the restaurant it did an unusual amount of time to receive our meal. i had the burger, which was average and fries. my burger was warm and fries were not. it had to have been sitting in the kitchen before being served. food is ok but overpriced based on quality. read more

Though the menu does not call out the grilled onions, there are grilled onions on this burger along with bacon, tomato, lettuce, and crumbled blue cheese. If you are trying to avoid a lot of bun, just know that this burger comes with "a lot of bun"! The bun is good, there's just a lot of it. The accompanying fries were good. Had a trip planned for Hilton Head Island, but got a hotel in Pooler for a better deal. Sam Snead's was about 5 minutes from our hotel and after skimming the menu, we decided it was the place to try for dinner. Service was PHENOMENAL! Everyone was so kind and happy to assist. Our waitress, Darlene, was such a sweetheart and a delight to work with. The restaurant had a nice, relaxing atmosphere and would be a great place to grab a drink after work. It wasn't too noisy, and you could hear conversation at your table just fine! The food and drinks were also to die for. We had the Slammin Sammy Shrimp as an appetizer (not pictured because we scarfed it down so quick) and it was probably the best thing I have ever tasted. We had diner between customers and work colleagues. The place has a nice cozy pub/restaurant atmosphere and the waitress are professional in answering our questions. The place was really full in the evening which made the place lively and the hygiene was good too. However I must say the food is at pub level. I ordered the shrimps Savannah served with pasta and tomatoes bits. I must say the pasta were not or good quality, the shrimps over cooked and the red wine all too sweet. I just want to say what a wonderful night we had at Sam Sneads Savannah tonite. We travel from Florida to New Jersey to visit our kids and always stop at The Hyatt Place next door and go to Sam's for dinner. Our waitress, Olena, was over the top in making our dinner really memorable. She was just the sweetest, most kindest server we ever encountered. She really made our night!! What a great employee she is for Sam's and I just wanted to let everyone know what kind of people work there. We can't wait to return on our trip back home to Sam's and hopefully we will have Olena wait on us again.We will definitely be asking for her and will always keep this place on our list to hit on the way up to NJ and back to FL. This place was recommended to me from some one during work. It is close to the airport where I am staying. I sat at the bar since I was just one. But I wasn't Sri king so that was a bummer. There looked like there was a lot of good beer on tap. I got the cheese burger. I asked for medium well but it was well well and the bun was better burnt so I did not love the burger. The bar area was packed with patrons....except for one narrow seat so I grabbed it. I had already perused the menu at my hotel since I was in the mood for a burger and noticed they had one. Although this is a steakhouse, it's prices are similar to Texas Roadhouse, just a lot classier on the inside. I ordered the hole in 1 burger with a loaded baked potato for only $1.50 upcharge. The burger uses a fresh beef patty, cooked to your liking and mine was a perfect medium rare. I The patty was machine formed and a decent burger. Potato was pretty standard. The only thing I didn't like was some of the bacon bits were hard as a rock, and I couldn't chew them. By the time I was half way through my meal, the bar area had almost all but cleared out, so it became a lot quieter.
