Grabbed a mushroom slice it was a little cheese but the sauce and the crust are still really good. The mushrooms although Being the canned weren't so watery that they made the slice feel wet and damp. I been coming here for years. It's def traditional nyc style pizza

Great slices in East Harlem. Counter service. Cash only. Included garlic rolls (come in 4 ct) in addition to the bacon ranch chicken slice and the pepperoni /sausage/onion slice. Bacon ranch was not greasy at all and ingredients portion was strong. Pepperoni crust was perfectly crisp and easily foldable along with plentiful toppings. Right off the #6 subway line at 115th.

Basically, everyone knows that New York City has the best pizza and that's because of the water. I have had many pizzas around New York City and they're all great. However, I decided to try this one out and it's actually awesome. I have to preface all this because my father was a chef at some of the top Italian restaurants here in New York City, and my beloved is a Mi Michelin Star trained chef in French and Italian cuisine and actually had her own Italian restaurant up in Provincetown for 20 years, so I have a sense of what taste when you say something tastes good. We ordered two pies, one more difficult than the next I believe. The first. Fresh Mozzarella Pizza with basil with fresh mozzarella cheese. It had a thin crust, and yet perfect to the bite. Then I asked for Supreme Deluxe Pie which is with mushrooms, pepperoni, sausage, peppers, onions and olives. I requested that after the pie comes out for them to put an extra layer of cheese, and have it melt by itself. This pie is hard to do because you have many different textures from the onions, the green peppers, the olives and the thin, sliced sausage and pepperoni. Then when you add the two layers of cheese with a thin sauce and becomes amazing and perfect. This is why I consider this pizza place, not just great but completely awesome. We will definitely be going back to them again and again.

Thank you Bronx for this little local pizza gem! It gave us a great slice of heaven! We were able to get the full NY experience as we took it to to go to enjoy!

I have been coming to Sam's for years. Hands down, best pizza around. They give you a nice big slice for $3. Others may cost the same, but their sauce isn't that good, the crust isn't as thick, or the slice isn't as big. No other pizzeria compares.

Pizza so good I had to take a few bites before taking a picture.

Stopped here to grab a quick bite before class and I was in and out in less than 2 minutes. On a sunny fall day, it was nice that the had the door and side open so lots of a cool breeze was coming in. I was greeted really nicely by someone behind the counter and luckily they had just pulled a cheese pizza out of the over (Winner!). The pizza was hot and cheesy and super delicious. I added my usual garlic, oregano, and crushed peepers to add some kick to it and couldn't even wait before I was taking bites (hence the half eaten pizza picture, sorry!). Definitely will be back again when I'm craving pizza before class. Only $2.50 for a plain slice.

I came to this place years ago and it was okay, not bad, not great. Fresh and always ready to eat in a short time. The service is always quick, and friendly as well. Not much has changed other than the prices and the quality. The slice was very fluffy with sparse sauce and cheese. It looked as if my slice was trimmed at one side which was odd. The flavor is about the same but that texture you associate with NYC is slipping away. Locals seem to still like it, the orders are coming in frequently as I sit an people watch out the window. Will I come back. Idk maybe if I'm as hungry as I was a few minutes ago. But 2.75.... I really gotta contemplate.

It was oddly a Sunday and we were actually walking a few blocks to meet others for dinner, but I came across this place and couldn't help but stop for a slice...as a snack! And I'm glad I did! it restored my faith in NY pizza, reminded me that NY pizza could never taste like any normal NY pizza even if they said it was NY pizza, but this was definitely NY PIZZA! We got a slice of pepperoni and a slice of Margherita and it just melted in my mouth. The flavors, the perfection of the thin crust, the seasoning -- I wish I lived much closer! We also got garlic knots which were awesome also! I enjoyed the sitting at the counter experience and having an ice cold coke with my slice. It was the best snack before my next dinner meal and I cannot complain at all! This is definitely one of my favorite pizza places in NY!

Pizza is ready in 15 minutes, which in my case was less time for me to walk from hotel and pick it up. This location had two storefronts- one for pizza by the slice and the other for the full pie. Full pie line is shorter though still formidable. Line by the slice stretches around the corner. Pizza itself is all right. Toppings are pretty average and crust is chewy as it should be. Little bit too hard on my opinion. As a tourist - it was a must try. However - I wouldn't do it again.

The arancini was a standout: perfectly crisp on the outside, creamy inside, and served with a rich, delicious sauce that tied it all together. We ended on the tiramisu, which was absolutely worth saving room. It was light, flavorful, and a perfect finish to the meal. What really elevated the experience, though, was the staff. Everyone was genuinely kind and helpful--especially notable for New York--and it made the whole evening feel relaxed and welcoming. A small heads-up: it's a bit tricky to find, so give yourself extra time. That said, the hidden, underground subway setting is part of the charm and makes the whole experience feel unique. I'd love to see more restaurants creatively use these kinds of spaces in the future.

To start with the good: the arancini were perfectly passable, and the Sicilian pie was enjoyed by all. I would describe it as more of a Detroit style actually, with a super crispy crust and nice textural contrast. On the other hand, we did not enjoy the seasonal vegetable pie or the nepo pie. I generally really like this sort of no-cheese, umami-heavy pizza, but the nepo was so salty! I'm not sure what specific ingredient was missing, but missing it was. My hopes for a recreation of the rossa pie I enjoyed at Farina prior to their closure were dashed. As for the vegetable pie, the vegetables tasted like the frozen veggies one might find in what was once marketed as a "TV dinner". It was a shame, since the sauce of the white pie was otherwise pretty good.

RIGHT BY THE DOOR. Do people not realize that putting a bar near a door on a freezing cold night benefits no one? Good thing I did not order alcohol or I would have froze to death. Seriously, none of the pies stood out in grand memory. All I can think of is, well, nothing. Nothing positive anyway. The names of the pies are funny, and the staff is friendly, but besides that, the quality of the food for lack of a better word, dare I say it, sucks. Hoping to salvage the meal, I ordered their Chicken Parmesan. It was the Hail Mary pass that unfortunately did not connect. The cutlets are overcooked and dry, and the red sauce cooked with it has minimal tomato flavor. At least the spaghetti is cooked to a nice al dente and mellow garlic butter flavor, but like the sauce cooked in, it is also minimal. Part of the problem I feel is they are trying to go for a vibe that has a New York and modern feel. It does not work. Stay true to one or the other. Or at least look at other business models. I will use another pizzeria in Bushwick that exemplifies it perfectly. It is a hipster pizzeria in a hipster neighborhood. Through balance, it creates an ambiance both welcoming and warm without losing any of its Bushwick character. It does this by not beating you over the head with hipster vibes, just enough to let you know that you are in Bushwick. The band Franz Ferdinand was playing as I was wrapping up. Rather than take the pizza out, I suggest you throw it out. Overall pizza rating: 1.7/5

The first thing you notice is the main bar wall, with its exposed centuries-old brick that has survived every bit of chaos this city could throw at it. It's subtly backlit from with a warm, amber glow that highlights every single historic groove and imperfection, making the whole room look like it's breathing. I have to say the centerpiece of the entire narrow room is the bar itself, and let me tell you, it is an absolute stunner of a contrast. Instead of the usual dark, sticky tavern wood, they've dropped in a long, continuous slab of pristine, elegantly smooth white stone. It glows under the soft lighting like a block of polished marble. There are no strobe lights and no obnoxious, skull-rattling bass in this joint. Instead, the room is wrapped in a blanket of incredibly chill music that matches the pulse of the room perfectly. It's just loud enough to drown out the noise in your own head, but quiet enough that you don't have to scream over the smooth white counter to be heard. People aren't here to be seen on TikTok; they're here to disappear for an hour or three. You slide into a chair, order a proper Old Fashioned from a bartender who doesn't rush the pour, and watch the ice melt against the amber-lit brick. It's the ultimate underground exhale--a perfect, narrow slice of peace in a city that never shuts up. Cheers!
