So, about 6 weeks later and we are getting our car back for the 4th time from Sanborn. Hopefully, the a/c will be working this time. The first two times they tried something and it didn't work. The third visit they diagnosed it and had to wait for part to come in, which is understandable. We took it back and they had it for a week to fix it, no problem. And since our first visit the communication has improved. However, it was very frustrating to be charged another $100 warranty deductible when they are still servicing the same issue. Even if they had to order another part, it would seem that part should've been ordered the first time. Why are we penalized for them not diagnosing that originally? What's their motivation to do a job correctly if they are going to continue to charge customers when they fail to fix the car on the first visit? It's poor customer service. If the a/c doesn't work this time, will we be charged another $100 when they try and fix it next time? read more

I am a big fan of small businesses and try to support them every way I can, but the attitude of the man driving the Mercedes S63 with dealer plates is horrible. Lighting does strike twice. The customer care service I received at Sanborn Chevy was above and be on great. Aaron the service Guru started everything followed by the repairman that worked on my car. The parts person open up the waiting room for me. I was there on a Saturday morning, who wants to work on a Saturday. The people at Sanborn Chevy did not mind working on a Saturday, if they did it did not showed.. I will also mention the young lady cashier she was wonderful too. One of the worst service experiences I've had with a car. DO NOT TAKE your vehicle here for service. First I started off by taking my car in early Saturday morning at 8. Cory and I went over what was wrong with the car and stated he only had 1 tech there and might not be able to get to it today Saturday exactly at 8am. The service was for Spark plugs and new ignition coils with a intake gasket because they had too. Well $1300 later I agreed and Cory stated Jason would follow up with me on Monday. I waited till Monday at 1 pm to call and when I did a rude young lady answered and asked how she could help I explained I was curious about my car and needed an update. After being on hold for a couple minutes she responds 'they'll call you later this afternoon, is there any other inquiries about your car?' She failed to let me know the service department closes at 5 Monday through Friday my car wouldn't be available till Tuesday. I'm not upset about the cost of the service. At a 'dealership' I would expect extreme customer service and decency Especially for a $1300 tab. Never going here again. You have been warned they do not care about your service!!! Update from Tuesday. Cory called me about 10:30am and let me know he was off on Monday and that was the reason there was no response from the service team. Unfortunately they could not solve the problem with the check engine light. Upon further investigation they found that the cylinder has low compression. I asked if this was common and he responded not usually. This is the reason there was no compression test done upon removal of the spark plugs the first time. He stated that to 'find' the root of the problem or some of the main causes it would require another $1400 of evaluation time. I asked so if I said yes to this it would be up to $2700 for them to figure out the problem but not fixing it yet. $2700?, 2 days of missed work and 1 headache later I am disappointed. The moment we drove up they were very welcoming but not pressuring in any way. We were interested in a newer used vehicle on the lot and the price was right. They were straight shooters, none of this back and forth like at other dealerships. Took my car in because the check engine light was on Sanborn called me back and said it has to do something with the sensor, but if we work on your car we can't promise you that's the problem, i'm thinking we'll what's the point of you taking my money if you can fix the problem so I had no choice. I needed to get my car fixed. He told me it will be done in a week because they are short on workers, never got a call back. I called them back within the five days and they said oh yeah, your car is ready to be picked up. Picked up my car and two days later i was having the same issue, I called them back and told them the issue was never fixed, I talk to the same person who took my information down the first time, he then told me, oh! it could be something else wrong with it, it could be blah blah blah We're gonna have to charge you another 700 to fix the problem. Scammers! I was thinking in my head. I kept my cool. Sanborn just wants your money, that's the problem with these mechanic shops, my brother-in-law took his car a year later and they ran the same game on him. They need to try harder if they want to remain a Chevrolet dealer. I wanted to like Sanborn, I really did. I decided to give them a chance to earn my business from Chase Chevrolet. Unfortunately for them, they failed. My sales person was David, and honestly it was your typical 90s era dealership from the start. He came out was very friendly, we talked and found a vehicle I could see myself buying... for the right price and right trade value. The test drive went very well, we talked about the car and about life. Then back at the dealership, things went south... as is expected from your typical 90s era dealership experience. Here at Sanborn they are not very up to date in terms of facility or technology. Sales offices are equipped with a calculator and paper, and not much else. A far cry from the computer equipped sales offices of Chase or communal computer stations at Kuni Chevrolet. Anyway, we played the typical waiting game, but I wouldn't have any of it, so I'd get up and walk around the showroom while he'd be talking to his sales/finance manager. We worked some basic numbers, and when he came back I tried to steer the direction of the conversation towards the trade. Now, for reference prior to this I had just been at Chase and they had appraised my car already while we crunched some initial basic numbers. When David came back and we started to talk about my trade, he said that their guy couldn't appraise my car unless he had a solid commitment from me. And of course I can't even give him a shaky commitment until I know what they're giving me for my trade. So, we were in a loop for a while. Then he asked that typical high pressure sales person rant about how the dealership was desperate to sell a car to impress GM (apparently GM tried to cancel the contract once already during the 2009 bankruptcy). He also said that the dealership was going to bend over backwards to sell this car to me. And then he asks the question "What can we do to get you to buy this car today?" I told him, to get my car appraised, give me an offer, and I would discuss it with my family. This is where it really went downhill. Apparently, it's not okay for a potential buyer to talk over the purchase of a $20,000+ item with his family whether it be a spouse, parents, etc. He told me something along the lines of "You need to grow up and make your own decision for yourself". Well excuse me for wanting to involve my family. That's the quickest way to turn off a potential customer in my opinion. Honestly I was insulted by his insinuation that I wasn't being a mature adult by wanting to go home and discuss this with my family. This should have not been a problem. Chase did it for me, and they had no problem with me not buying the car the same day or wanting to talk it over with the family. That's when I decided to leave for good. Long story short. This is your typical small town dealership. It's operation is small town and can't compare to real GM operations like Chase or Kuni. They haven't even remodeled the dealership to match corporate standards. How can they expect GM to have confidence in them to sell their vehicles. It's a shame too, because the family members I wanted to talk to are actually going to be buying an Equinox or Traverse within the next year. I will not be recommending Sanborn Chevrolet to them, nor will I be recommending it to other friends or extended family. Sadly, it's just another GM dealership I can't recommend. They do nothing to help General Motors in this post bankruptcy world. If anything they are hurting GM's image here in the central valley. That's not good because this is still GM territory. They need to either step up their game or they need to step aside. I'll give them 2 stars for the fact that they had good inventory and the fact that they're a Chevrolet dealership and I'm a Chevy/GM guy at heart. read more

Evidently they don't like selling cars. Went here for a specific car. I already had the approval letter, two of them from two different companies. After the test drive the deal fell apart in financing. They somehow could not find anyone to finance me and refused to accept either of the other two loans I brought in. They had no alternatives and just said they couldn't make it work. I went to Kuni in Sacramento who had no problem finding a loan. And they were willing to offer me a fair price for my trade, not the low ball offer sanborn tried. My friend bought a car here so I went here as well. I should've realized it was a mistake as after my friend bought er car the sales guy took her number from the file and kept texting her and not always about the car. They took my car, changed my oil and filter, and performed a thorough vehicle inspection. They also gave me a complimentary car wash. We live a ways out in gold country, mandatory we've had to use this horrible place 5 times for a NEW CAR bought in late 14. I think they hire offshore to train their "service professionals", it's almost as if they can't speak English even though most of them are sitting back in their chairs doing nothing they will still not attend to your problem for as long as they can get away with it not only that they try not to honor warranties so that they some sort of cash payment. After the 5th time we've dealt with them we found out that every time they should have offered us a rental car instead they tried to charge us every time this is coming from the daughter of a 35-year GM retiree I think this time your quote professional service is going to land you in a little bit deeper water than you have expected. They are always so polite here even when someone ATTEMPTS to be rude or demanding! A WOMAN came in swearing she had an appointment to have her oil changed. The staff politely said it is FIRST COME FIRST SERVE policy at their service station. I too came in to have my oil changed and am immediately greeted. There is complimentary coffee, two vending machines, a television, magazines and two restrooms for customers in the waiting area. I've never had to wait more than 30 minutes and compared to other oil changing shops Sanborn's is reasonably priced for my Tahoe. I'll continue to be a patron here for all the noted reason above! read more

I called on 4/10 at 10am and made an appointment with Maurice for 4/11 at 9:30. 9:30 came and went and not even a phone call to let me know they had no intention on coming. I called and spoke with Sam who said there were no notes indicating the contact. He repeatedly asked how to spell my name and phone number.
