We had a great experience here! It's a great place to grab drinks & lunch after laying out at the beach. The champagne sangria is a must! Order the pitcher, it ended up being the best value. The lobster roll was good, it's the cold style with mayo (wished it was the hot style with butter!) but it was tasty. The mayo was very light and the bun was toasted which made it delish! We also had the grill chix sandwich which was good, fries are tasty. The DJ played good music too. Let me jump right in and let everyone know why I'm giving Sandbar all five stars, for me it was the atmosphere that encapsulated what the Sunshine State is all about. Kicking it near the beach with fun cocktails and music to just relax and soak in the luxury's of life. Entered with a group of other Irish people also working over in Florida and greeted by some lovely staff, so we took are seats and ordered some grub. Most of the group just went with the Sliders w/cheese & applewood bacon, I'll admit it hit all the right spots for me. The bar also offers the great game of cornhole which was plenty of fun, may of also had me in a better mood after crushing one of the other guys in a game. All in all, it was a very enjoyable experience and I'd definitely recommend the spot to anybody visiting the area of Delray Beach. read more

Very sad to say that my family had a terrible experience at the Sand Bar today. It was the one place we were looking forward to going to on our weekend in Del Ray. Finally got there this morning. Had a great table with a fantastic view of the ocean and a very nice waitres. My husband and I ordered our drinks and appetizer while we waited for our son to join us. Unfortunately, when our 21 year old son arrived he was turned away because his ID was a temp license. He had two other forms of ID that also showed he was 21. But he wasn't allowed in. We had to cash out and leave before our food arrived. To the old man who wouldn't let him in, despite THREE forms of ID, I hope you are the owner. If not, you should be fired!!! read more

This place is a great off the beach type of bar to go to. Great seating to relax, great atmosphere, and their conk appetizers satisfied my SO. As I was told (I don't eat them) the smaller the conk, the more meat and less fried batter. I ordered the chips and salsa (only thing gluten free). The salsa was amazing and I wanted to lick the bowl. As a beach bar, this was exactly the experience I expected and wanted. Nothing fancy, but fun. I was told that it can be crazy busy Friday and Saturday afternoons, so we decided to skip those days. My SO and I will definitely be returning on our next visit. read more

Definitely can see a reason to not give this place a lot of stars, but for what it is, a bar, near the beach, with scantily dressed waitresses, and big TVs...it's fine. Don't order any food, and if you do, stick with the fried items or whatever is the absolute easiest for them to make. Food is definitely not good. This place is consistent. Drinks are fine (stick to the beers, unless you want an overly sugary drink), but they're overpriced. This is Delray, not Ft Lauderdale or Miami - and a bottled beer is $6. Being from SF, this is normal for me, but everyone else notices how expensive it is. The peel shrimp are great - I'd recommend those. The other food is mediocre. This could be a perfect place to relax after the beach with a few drinks and snacks. When it first opened, we really enjoyed it. Now, however, they have the worst DJ. The music is "club" music which is not appropriate for a mixed crowd during the day. If they played music that everyone could enjoy, I'm sure people would stay and drink more! Some friends and I recently went to Sandbar because we were more dressed for the beach than for a nice restaurant. Dress code is casual to say the least. The young waitresses are forced to wear skimpy 2 piece bathing suits to serve our food! Yuck! While the men who worked there wore T shirts & jeans. SEXIST. First there weren't enough waitresses & they were running ragged. When I asked about the young women's 'bathing suit uniform' the manager said " They knew what they were getting into when they signed up." How about the men wear short shorts & tank tops, I asked. ' No, the manager said, they're hairy. She should be fired. Her attitude was arrogant & neanderthal. The drinks were watered down & food was so-so. Go elsewhere. read more

Strong drinks and beachy pub fare. I enjoyed the pina colada (with an extra floater!), mahi sandwich, and the peel n eat shrimp... which were particularly fresh. This isn't five star dining, but would you expect it to be with a name like Sandbar? Think beach bar (sand and all), but across the street from the ocean. Came here last night(Saturday night) for the first time. I have to say it was pretty great. Every night they have some type of special & Saturday nights it's a 48oz pitcher of your choice of alcohol & it was only 20$. Great deal for some yummy drinks. The place is beach themed & is right on the beach. The place is sandy all around so it's not the place to come dressy. It's more of a bathing suit or casual attire for this place. They have good music playing & a lot of people dance. There is also corn hole to play & it was really fun playing with people. Definitely will come again. read more

I would not recommend going to this place. I came here with co-workers and my boss and the waitress overcharged myself and everyone in the party. Then when we went to ask for the manager, to resolve the issue, the manager and staff treated us very rudely and put their hands on two members of our party. One of these being a 60+ year old gentleman. I then called the General Manager to let him know about the situation, and we received the same disrespect. This is a reoccurring issue here with customers being overcharged, duplicate charges. It is also a reoccurring issue that the staff treats their customers with disrespect and hostility. I was able to try my first lobster roll here. I didn't know at the time that u can order it cold or hot sominjus took it cold but next time I'll try it hot. The drink I ordered wasn't very strong. Maybe it was jus early and they have a light hand when they pour but the drink was still good. The food was great and service very friendly. Plus the waitresses r in bikinis and thts never. So glad my friend and I stumbled into this place! We came here while on vacation in Delray when it began to storm and we had to leave the beach. The employees here were kind and welcoming, and there is a fairly large drink selection. We did not try to food, but the drinks were strong and reasonably priced. Kara was our server both times we came in, and she was absolutely amazing. She was bubbly, friendly and always making sure that our drinks were full! Even during a thunderstorm with downpours she will still running around making sure everyone was taken care of. Very good service! Can't wait to return during my future vacations. read more

Food is what you would expect from a bar "on the beach" which is actually across the street from the beach, complete with sand flooring. Service is slow, but our waitress was nice and attentive after we finally got someone to serve us. My first time here, started at the bar with my friends. We loved the drink menu, so many options and the bartender Angelina was so helpful about telling us which drinks were good! Was very fun even though it was super busy! We ended up staying and moving to a table. Our food came out correctly and good.
