I give this a 5 for the ambiance! The food is nothing to get excited about. This place has sand everywhere and it is across the street from the beach! What more can you ask for? They have the music pumping and sports on the tvs! It's a great place. :)

My favorite place to go after the beach. Great Fish and Chips and Mahi Mahi Sandwich! I love the vibe, can spend time there for hours. Took friends and family in separate times and they all loved it.

The bar

Typical beach bar vibe and menu with a nice view of the ocean. I ordered the mahi tacos ($17). Unfortunately, they used tortillas not much bigger than silver dollars with the stuff piled on top. Impossible to pick up and eat like normal fish tacos. They were saucy, further adding to the impossibllity if eating them as one should eat a taco. The fish was either overcooked or it wasn't mahi. Tasty, slightly spicy, and acceptable, but not awesome. My only complaint about the drink options is that the choices are limited to the sweet cocktails and frozen concoctions and industrial beers on tap. Though typical for a beach bar, it would be nice to offer a few craft beer options. Overall, it's a good place to have a Bud Light, a pina colada, and some conch fritters with an ocean view.

Lava flow

The lava flow was really good. It tastes really fresh and the strawberry at the bottom made it really good. The pretzels bites were hot and soft, the cheese does have a little kick. The service was ok seemed like they are short staffed. The view and breeze off the ocean is why we live in Florida!

Lobster roll

Such a cute spot, right off the beach! Perfect place to grab drinks after a long day in the sun. The vibes were great, and the atmosphere was exactly what you'd want from a beachside bar. The food was average bar fare--nothing mind-blowing but still hit the spot. Overall, a solid choice for a laid-back drink.

Conch fritters

Been here a few times and we always get the conch fritters. Delicious every single time. The service is good and the vibe is chill. We'll be back!

The husband-and-wife owners are clearly hands-on... stopping by tables, checking in with guests, and keeping a watchful eye on everything. It's obvious they care and truly want you to have a great time here. I called for a reservation and it was basically sold out... when they said they could take me at 5pm, I grabbed it. Was actually perfect as I was heading over to see the tennis tournament after dinner. On arrival, the place was empty. As expected, when we left, it was completely full. A half bottle of Sonoma-Cutrer Chardonnay was perfect with my lobster. The wine list isn't extensive, but it's well chosen and fairly priced. The food was excellent across the board. A special of Scallops, Crab Cake, topped with Shrimp over Vegetables was fantastic. My guest enjoyed the Clams Oreganata. I loved my Baked Stuffed Lobster (stuffed with crab), served with amazing Mashed Potatoes... and bonus points for a real hand towel after the lobster. Of course, I had to try the key lime pie... very good. Now I understand why this casual, unassuming spot is so popular... it hits on every note. I noticed a bunch of regulars dining at the bar, which looked perfect to me. The bar is walk-in only... so next time I don't have dinner plans, I'll remember I can just walk in and try for a seat. I'm sure I'll see two familiar faces... the owners, Anthony and Christine. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I recently came back with a friend for oysters, clams, and drinks, and we sat at the bar for the evening. The oysters, clams, and mussels were absolutely delicious. I originally ordered a Grey Goose martini before realizing they only serve beer and wine, so I switched to a Chardonnay, which was great. The experience was nostalgic in the best way. I know the ownership has changed since I first came here, but I was so happy to hear the cook is still the same! It really brought back memories. We had a fun night overall -- although I may have slightly annoyed the bartender by asking her to take photos of us (they didn't come out too well under the lighting). Before we left, another server kindly helped us take a few away from the lights, and those turned out much better. All in all, I'm really glad I came back to give J and J's another whirl. The food was fresh and delicious, the atmosphere was warm and nostalgic, and it reminded me why I loved this place to begin with. You should give it a try too!

I had been to Mussel Beach years earlier and remembered how good the mussels were at that time so I asked my boyfriend if he would like to try it. I ordered mussels steamed in butter, garlic, white wine and lemon - How could they be bad??? They arrived in a large pot with toasted bread for dipping . I enjoyed every bite. They were fresh and tasty!! Although my boyfriend chose a cheeseburger vs mussels, I got what i set out for and I was not disappointed. The mussels are prepared many different ways. I have thoughts-- Visiting from California, I came here for the grouper. Having had the octopus appetizer, I think they should offer the white bean and spinach that the octopus came on for the grouper. I'd say do it blackened. Apparently this is what Joe eats at lunch when I suggested it. So maybe just put it on the menu? Anyways, order that. The service was spectacular and Joe was knowledgeable. He did say he had a vested interest, so you'd expect that. I'll be back, but if you're coming for the first time, and live out of state, take it from me (a prior restaurant owner), order the fish medium. Don't be disappointed. Also, I can't wait to return to see what's been improved.

If you're ordering it as it's intended ( for an appetizer... ) share with a large group. When I went, we were just a party of two so we pretty much filled up on it, but it was so good. No one was complaining! In terms of entrées, their eggs that come with this cheesy hash brown casserole is so good. Strawberry and cream basil French toast also really good... to me, it probably didn't need the basil, as that can be a bit bitter- although it sounded great but I didn't love it... But still a really good dish. However, what happened to me there was the waitress dropped a drink on the floor which splashed up all over me. She right away got me some napkins to clean myself off and while I wasn't thrilled, it happens, whatever. I didn't think too much of it. And ended up, taking off our appetizer from the Bill which I thought was very nice of her. And after this last visit, I will be passing on any future visits. We had a 6:30 pm reservation for 5 on a recent Saturday Night. That afternoon we asked if we can add one more person (so 6 in total) and were told we'd need to arrive at 6:15 pm. Logistically, that makes zero sense. The extra table seat wouldn't be a problem, and adding 15 minutes for the kitchen for 1 extra meal? But, ok. We arrived to a nearly empty restaurant at 6:15. We are catching up, looking at the menus and within 10 minutes the owner is hovering over us asking for our orders. We ask for another few minutes -- we hadn't even gotten our drinks. He tells us we have 2 hours so we have to hurry. Look, I live down the block from Le Sorrelle. I pass it night after night, and yes, it's has its nights where it is party central. People love to host family events there. But most of the time, this place is sorely wanting for business. And while perhaps Le Sorrelle did fill up after we left, there was plenty of seating when we did slip out, well in advance of our 2-hour limit. As for the food -- I can only speak to what I ordered. A Caesar salad and Pizza Margherita. Both were awful. And I'm really not just saying that because of the restaurant experience that night. I previously had pizza at Le Sorrelle (albeit, years ago now) and it was quite good. Perhaps the cheese pizza would have been. As for a good Caesar salad, run, don't walk to Segreto Italia. Actually, just go to Segreto Italia, because Chris, Joey and Chip will treat you like gold and you'll have an overall outstanding experience.
