You have to try for yourself if you love pizza and sandwiches hahaha I kept seeing this restaurant's sandwiches ALL over my feed on both IG and TikTok and I just had to try! Parking is either street or the adjacent neighborhood, I recommend the neighborhood and walking down to the restaurant (just a 5 min walk)! There was a line out the door on Memorial Day Monday, but it went pretty fast, and my partner and I got our food in about 15 minutes. What really caught my attention was the Vestaboard they used to display customer names for the orders - it caught mine and so many others' attention as it was so unique and fun lol. I didn't get the name of the girls working the counter but they were so sweet and took our order efficiently. Stopped by Sandough and ordered the Straccetti sandwich with skirt steak, garlic aioli, caramelized red onions, provolone, arugula, and parmesan. The filling itself was delicious. The steak was cooked well, the onions added sweetness, the arugula brought a nice peppery freshness, and overall the flavors worked really well together. My only issue was that the bread-to-filling ratio felt a little off. Most bites were a bit dry because there was so much bread compared to the filling. I would have loved a little more sauce, and maybe a stronger acidic element to brighten everything up. The ingredients were all there, but I just wanted a little more balance. Overall, I'd give it an 8/10. One thing to note: these sandwiches are MESSY. Quite a bit of oil leaked out of mine while eating, and my friend's meatball sandwich basically exploded out the other end on the first bite. I went at 11am on a Saturday. Waited about 17 mins for my sandwich. The wait aside, the sandwich was delicious. I got the verde and really loved it. Very nice touch on the pizza bread for the sandwiches! I ended up trying Chicken Milanese sandwich. The pizza bread was slightly crispy on the outside and perfect pillowy on the inside. The chicken was freshly fried, covered by bread crumbs, melted cheese and their special sauce. It tasted pretty good, was juicy but I felt that it needed a bit more of their sauce for additional flavor, so I got a side of it. The design of the place is contemporary-industrial, with an exposed brick wall and some cool industrial light fixtures. The customer service was very welcoming and efficient. Saw this place in a YouTube short and it looked amazing. We ordered the Pastrami and it did not disappoint. The bread is baked fresh and the pastrami is juicy! Came in about 20 minutes after opening, and we were probably only the third group there. We were excited to try the three sandwiches we ordered, so we definitely didn't expect an almost 40-minute wait, especially before the lunch rush had even started. Thankfully they had WiFi, but the wait still felt unreasonable considering there were only one or two parties ahead of us. As we waited, it became pretty clear that online orders were being prioritized over dine-in customers. Once the food arrived, the sandwiches were good overall. We had ordered the Parma, Pastrami and the Chicken Milanese. However, the Chicken Milanese was noticeably dry and barely had any sauce. When I asked for extra sauce, I was told I would need to buy it. I mentioned that, given the excessive wait, it seemed reasonable to provide some sauce free of charge, but I was again told no by the lady working the kitchen. I even showed the video comment where Chef Frankie Guerrero addresses this exact issue and that was dismissed too. At that point, I asked if Chef Frankie Guerrero was there so I could speak to him directly. Only then did they finally give me a small container of sauce but without answering the question. The whole interaction felt unnecessary and uncomfortable, especially since the sauce itself is not even listed on the menu. That said, the place has a nice vibe and a lot of potential. The front staff was friendly, but the woman working in the kitchen came across as unnecessarily rude and dismissive. I would give the Chicken Milanese a 6 out of 10. The Funghi sandwich was much better. It was cheesy, rich, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. It had a good balance and was definitely worth ordering. I would give the Funghi an 8 out of 10. The pastrami sandwich was the best of the three. It had great flavor, richness, melted cheese, and worked perfectly with the toasted bread. I would give the pastrami a 9 out of 10. If they offered an option to add sauerkraut, it would take the sandwich to the next level. The place is very busy, so expect a long wait. It took about 45 minutes to get the food. Seating is also an issue. Some large tables were being used by only one person, while larger parties had to stand without a place to sit. I'm being generous with the 4 because this place really has the potential. Concept is fantastic. Like many reviewers, my sandwich took over an hour. I was told 50 minutes, but more like 70. I think their biggest issue is finding a way to build out the kitchen to meet demand. Regardless, the bread is good and it almost looks like fresh Napolitan dough- yet it doesn't quite reach that excellent level of fresh baked. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be from the pictures and my love of quality sourdough ferments. I had the meatball which was good, but not great and could've used a little something extra in the flavor and filling department. I'd be interested to try more, the pastrami looked great. What makes a good sandwich? It's the bread obviously. Sandough got that down. They just need to get their system down. I waited 30 minutes for two sandwiches and people that ordered after me got their order before me. I would have waited longer if I didn't say anything. I was talking to one of the guys that was finishing the sandwiches and he mentioned that DoorDash is bombarding them. They should only use DoorDash when they're not busy during the lunch hour. They should turn it off. Take care of the customers that are in your restaurant. I ordered the pastrami and the mortadella sandwich and the flavors were great so as far as the food it's a 4 1/2 to 5 Star restaurant but the service needs a lot of help. I definitely will go back, but I will definitely will wait until they're a little bit more seasoned as far as service goes. I like this place but I don't get the hype. It was a cool spot. A lot of love and care went into designing the interior, but it was still just a sandwich. The flavors were good, but the portion was small relative to the price. If you spend $20 on a sandwich, you shouldn't still be hungry after. I had the prosciutto sandwich and half the Nutella sandwich and left hungry. For me, the biggest thing that could up the experience was the dough. Our dough was really tough and hard to bite into. I felt like I had to really rip it with my teeth just to get a bite out of it, which made it unenjoyable to eat.
