One of the best burgers in town. Fantastic sandwiches, both warm and cold. Also on their menu are several breakfast options! Didn't try the salads but they looked delicious. Lots of draft beer and sodas. Place has an interesting decor as well as being spotless. If you're out this way, well worth giving this place a try, you won't be disappointed! I'll be going back especially since it's in our neighborhood. read more

I ordered through DoorDash - PeeWee, Smashburger, potato salad... they were all excellent. I mention the DoorDash / takeout because I only ever use those options in total emergencies... reason being that there is always a ton of plastic trash and that makes me feel crappy, no matter how good the food is. NOT HERE!! The bags and containers were all paper. I love that - truly. It matters. Only a plastic lid on the potato salad. If I am really wanting takeout, this will absolutely weigh in. read more

Searched for a sandwich spot near Parkrose High School. Decided to try sandy O's. The sandwiches were delicious. And huge. Shared a pastrami with my mother in law. Plenty for the two of us. As a West side resident, I didn't think I'd ever be trying out Sandy O's - or, at least, not anytime soon. Luckily for me, a friend recently moved to the neighborhood, so I had the opportunity to check out the new burger-and-sandwich spot from the fine folks behind Laurelhurst Market - so you know it's gonna be good meatin'. We were not disappointed. Although the joint looks kind of like a used tire shop from the outside, it's kitschy-Western on the inside, with a pinball machine and a couple of arcade games to keep you occupied while you wait for your food. While empty when we came in in the early evening, the place soon filled up with folks picking up to-go orders or dining in. I was craving an Italian-style hoagie so I went for the Italian Necktie. My friend opted for the High on the Hog sandwich. There was also a chili special that I was sorely tempted by, and regret not ordering - next time! The hoagie was delicious, striking the perfect balance between savory-meaty and zesty-vinegary with the addition of thinly-sliced pickled onions atop needle-thin shredded lettuce. It absolutely hit the spot. I also tried my friend's sando, also mighty tasty, with the delightfully garlicky broccolini topping the flavorful pork. I wouldn't have thought to top a sandwich with broccolini, but it works! What really took the experience over the top was the service. When the counter guy overheard that my friend is a teacher, he comped him a beer in light of the current strike. Later, when we asked to exchange some smaller coins for a quarter in order to play the arcade games, a different employee simply handed us a handful of quarters from his own pocket. Kind, welcoming, and generous people make the world go 'round, and ensure that we'll be back to try more sandwiches, burgers, and that dang chili! read more

Quaint hole in the wall barn wood industrial joint is a bit cold but functional. The parking situation is awkward but what isn't in PDX. The service was casual and personal, even though we were there 45 minutes before close they gave no sign of it putting them off, as some places and people do. The smash burgers were very good, the french dips were tasty and the batter fry's were fine, I prefer a less seasoned fry but they did the trick. My only problem was with the chili on my burger. It wasn't a typical chili, a bit of a different spice was used and I wished I had asked, but it wasn't bad, just not what I expected. Give it a shot, we will be back when in the area... read more

Full of Portland nostalgia and the smell from the parking lot was heavenly the roasted hog permeated the air drawing us in. The sandwiches were delicious, my favorite was HOTH the broccolini slaw on my sandwich it just popped the flavors out even more. I could eat this as a salad it was so good. From the owners of Laurelhurst Market, this new deli serves high quality sandwiches and smash burgers. The meat is high quality and you can taste the difference. Once I saw pastrami on the menu, I had to get the Reuben. The pastrami is smoked in house. Piled on rye with Swiss cheese and sauerkraut, grilled so the cheese gets all melted and goey, this sandwich hit the spot! Very filling and for me, I saved half for dinner that night. My friend ordered the double smash burger and raved about the quality of meat and the caramelization from the technique. Inside is casual, a great family vibe. Service is fast and friendly. This place was awesome! Staff was really nice and helpful. My partner and I ordered a breakfast sandwich and a breakfast burrito, both with bacon. I had the burrito and it was SO GOOD! fresh ingredients that were seasoned nicely. The hot sauce/salsa that came with the burrito was the star of the show. That stuff was so good! My partner really enjoyed his sandwich as well. We tried the potato salad after reading another review. The flavor was good, pretty celery forward. The texture was a bit odd, but overall it was tasted and we finished it all. The ambiance was nice, it was quiet with some good soft soul/rock music playing. The decor was nice too. We ordered sandwiches to be delivered and they were decadently delicious. I got the burger with brisket and bbq sauce, pimento cheese spread. Didn't want the fries that they usually add to the burger (why do people want this!?) so I requested that they exclude them. My husband got the healthier option of a turkey sandwich. Both were on good buns and very tasty. Think about sharing a sandwich because they are substantial. Good place! read more

Had the High on the Hog with a salad and oh boy! The sauce was flavorful! The broccoli was chopped and cooked to perfection, was soft not hard. The salad was way more evolved than I thought it would be. Highly recommend. Playing great music and super clean. Great service! Their smash burgers are up and above? The battered fries are exquisite, thin and crisp. The coleslaw is tangy and bbq spice forward. Different than I have had before and likable. Same with the potato salad. The prices are more than fair. The ambience is pretty basic and low key which isn't an issue as the burgers are so great! read more

Wow been wanting to try this place and it was a disappointment! Service is just at the counter where you order and pick up your food. We ordered the Pee Wee and High on the Hod sandwich's. Pee Wee, their version of Reuben did not like the secret sauce or gardieniere veggies and sandwich was greasy. Finally! A wonderful place to eat in Parkrose!! My friend and I visited this restaurant on Oct 10th, 2024. The joint was jumping and customers were placing orders and being served. A clean, friendly and open vibe. Easy menu to read, fast service and superb food. I ordered the small smash burger and it did not disappoint. The fries were hot and excellent as well with TONS of flavor. My friend ordered the Rueben and said it was one of the better ones she has ever eaten. The owner was very hospitable and really a warm, genuine person. The ONLY reason I did not give a 5 star review is that there is no booth or soft seating. I have a back injury and can only sit on softer surfaces. Hard chairs increase my pain so I usually avoid places without a choice. read more

The house smoked five-spice pulled pork was AHHHmazing. The pork was deeply flavorful, the sesame slaw was crunchy and added balance, and the chili-garlic BBQ sauce was the perfect way to bring it all together, flavorful without being overpowering. The thing about sandwiches is, you can have the best filling in the world, but it all hangs on the bread. I'm happy to say that their bread was incredible, delicately chewy, nice loft, but not too much bread. The German potato salad was piquant and flavorful, just what I hoped. For a side, they gave a generous portion. I was fairly stuffed, but managed a couple more bites in honor of Dolly. Now is the time when I tell you I'm not even a sandwich fan. Yes, I eat them, but I don't crave them. I can't wait to return and bring my lobster because he LOVES a sandwich. I tried the secret sauce and it was totally worth the extra cost. The battered fries were also really good - I could eat a whole basket of those! The double holy smokes smash burger was super filling, but the flavors clashed a little bit. I can't really explain it, but something was off. The restrooms were spotless and had cool coded locks. I hope they can keep them that clean. They also had pinball and other games, plus TVs for watching sports. As for parking, it's on the right side of the street. The sandwich I ordered, along with the French fries, were truly delicious. Every ingredient was fresh, and the bread was outstanding. In my view, dining options are limited in that part of Portland, making this place a delightful discovery. The restaurant boasts a comfortable, decent-sized interior with plenty of seating. There is no mustard, no pickles, no ham, and not a single drop of melted Swiss cheese binding anything together. This is not a Cuban sandwich. It is a pulled pork slider on a dinner roll. And it would have been a pretty decent one on that merit.
