My son had some tenders and my husband and I did the avocado toast. Food was right on point. My husband and I had the best lavender oat milk lattes ever at the cafe. Who I assume to be the owner and the cook came out and chatted with us. He was very kind and nice. After we left, my daughter realized she left something behind. We called the restaurant and it wasn't inside, but the owner went out of his way to go check the parking lot in front. He found her things. That was super kind of him. It's good to support minority-owned businesses in the neighborhood, especially those with such kind and welcoming service. The menu has an eclectic variety of American and Asian choices, and from the limited experience I've had, I would describe it as the comfort food, "diner version" of these dishes. I had the turkey melt hot panini on sourdough. It wasn't a ciabatta roll shape but seemed more like sliced sourdough, pressed to a crisp -- warm, toasty, golden outside where it looked almost like a giant Ruffles potato chip, and still bready inside. Regular diner turkey-cheese-lettuce-tomato-mustard-mayo filling -- I asked for no onions and it was just the way I ordered it. The yakisoba with shrimp came out steaming hot with plenty of shrimp and a mild taste. Not as intensely flavored as more traditional yakisoba places, but the portion was large. The hot cocoa was comforting warmth on a rainy day. But I should have known I should not order hot cocoa anywhere because over the years I have started not liking sweet things so much. If you like the sweetness of hot cocoa you would probably love this. If you can't decide what food you are in the mood for (or if everyone in your family wants something different), you should be able to find something here. Just don't expect traditional preparations of the food, it may be customized to appeal to local tastes. Located in a nondescript strip mall in north Torrance, just south of Alondra Park. We drive by here all of the time and finally had time to give them a try today. The service is friendly and quick. The menu is enormous. There is something for everyone. We had avocado toast, dragon fried rice and chicken masala for breakfast. Then washed it down with a vanilla iced coffee. Julius puts a lot of care and love into the restaurant. We came here this past Sunday and this place is a hidden gem!! My boyfriend ordered a strawberry slush and the breakfast panini with bacon. I ordered a medium (I know my picture says large but that was the only option) hot chocolate with the Banging Chicken dish. We split the two curry puffs and they were amazing, as well. The portions are generous and you can tell the owners love food! Everything was so flavorful and we were super happy the entire time. The hype is real! I drive by this place almost every day and finally decided to Yelp it. Even with all these 5 star reviews I was still skeptical because I hate change. But we gave it a try and had probably one of the best breakfasts we've ever had. No joke. The vanilla latte rivals Urth Cafe IYKYK. We had the Dragon Fried Rice and Breakfast Panini with bacon and avocado. 10/10 Service is 20/10. It was obvious that Julius cares about the good quality very much. Came in with my husband and daughter on 07/05/24 at around 10am. Upon arrival we were welcomed by our host. He was extremely welcoming, nice and attentive. The restaurant has a cozy vibe, something like a mom & pop shop. My daughter ordered the breakfast Bagel and a Boba Tea, my partner ordered the French Toast Combo & Hot Chocolate, and I ordered the Waffle Breakfast Combo. I can honestly say all of our food was really good with a homey taste, somewhat like mommas cooking! Waffles were on point, bagel was really soft & toasted and French toast was just right. Visited today for the first time on a recommendation from the folks at Baskin Robin (Nextdoor). We ordered 2 breakfast paninis - they were delicious! AND we got a pancake breakfast. I was in search of pad thai in the south bay. I have tried out a lot of different places, but none of it was worthy of a second time. I dont know how I found this place but I'm so glad I did! The pad thai (I think they refer to it as dragon noodles) was sooooo delicious!! This spot is definitely my go to place. Not only is their dish delicious, but service is also outstanding! During my second time ordering the gentleman on the phone recognized my voice and knew exactly what I ordered the previous time. He even remembered my address! They have FREE delivery which is unheard of these days. I think the actual owner delivers the food. He is always so kind, respectful and polite. I really want to try the other dishes on the menu after reading the wonderful reviews, but I love their pad thai so much that I cant get myself to order anything else YET lol. I've never been to the actual restaurant because I always order delivery so I cant say anything about the establishment. Once Covid is over I'll definitely go and visit. What caught my eye was the pictures of their food outside which is always a plus to visually see what they offer and the acai bowl picture sign is what sold me. Finally have a spot close to work to do my acai bowl runs. Didn't catch the gentleman's name that I was speaking with while waiting for my order but he was approachable and totally friendly! I tried its breakfast sandwich, princess noodles, and empress chicken. The sandwich was pretty basic. Princess noodles was healthy (very little oil) but was on the plain side. Empress chicken had tasty sauce, but the rice didn't taste completely well done (slightly a little hard). The most that I enjoyed was the Thai iced tea. Very good brewed tea taste. My wife wanted to try someplace different so I looked at my Yelp bucket list and mentioned the Sausalido. The family agreed after taking a look at Yelp so we ordered the Banging Chicken, Banging Beef, Dragon Noodles w/shrimp, and Sweet Herb Shrimp. One thing that caught all of us by surprise was the level of heat due to the spices. Not to say that the food wasn't tasty, just hotter than we expected. Everyone except myself ordered light spice while I ordered medium. I'm no prude when it comes to spicy food but this was out of the ordinary. My other "beef" LOL was the Banging Beef was chewy rather than tender. Everyone else was happy with their orders other than wishing the heat had been knocked down a notch. We also ordered mango smoothies which were fruity and flavorful. They've got a diverse menu so I'm looking forward to trying their breakfast items or sandwiches. I'm willing to give the Asian dishes another go but I'll have to request they go easy on the heat. Also, I'll be skipping the Banging Beef. read more
