A = Amazingly large menu, showcasing their specialties - anything chili relleno related - fresh seafood, delicious fried and grilled options - all of which are delicious! We opted for the fish tacos (with a side of rice and beans) along with the Chicken Tacos - which were flavorful but the juices made for a wet tortilla - boo. L = Lovable libations galore! A wonderful selection of house margaritas (flavored and OG), palomas, beers on tap and bottled, wines by the bottle or glass and an impressive selection of tequila! O = OMG salsa - with complimentary chips that are to die for. Seriously so delicious! In fact, we took a tub home! Also - the rellano appetizer is A MUST. M = MUST make reservations! While this spot has been down south for a while, it's a popular destination and A MUST to make reservations for brunch, lunch or dinner! I walk in at 11:30am, restaurant about half full. I'm a solo diner, I was told to sit at the bar or wait 15-20 minutes for a table. Quick glance I see many open tables. What am I waiting for? Reservations at noon? Was it my work uniform? Food smelled good and the ambiance is (how should I put this?) fancy. I travel all over Colorado for work and have tried many tacos from many restaurants. There are a lot of other options within a 5 min drive. Adios! read more

La Loma has a wonderful atmosphere with a great view from nearly every table. But we go to La Loma because the food is always very high quality, fresh, well-prepared and delicious. We are never disappointed. Today, we had an additional reason to provide a positive review: our server Jacob, who quite honestly was one of the best servers we have ever had anywhere. He was prompt, pleasant, provided detailed recommendations and knew the menu with details that probably only the cooking staff knew as well. So I ordered online and wasn't very happy. I called asked some question about the kids meal. When you go to order online for kids meals, it doesn't give protein option. I called asked and she told me to write the protein I wanted in the comment section. I did what she said, but there was no protein. I was babysitting a 8 year girl. She was terrifying after seeing there was no chicken in her quesadilla. I was so sacred. Part of a good restaurant is also having a good online order system. If you need to choose a protein, have that option. Now on to my food, the chicken tortilla soup. So salty. So salty. The chicken was kinda rubbery but it wasn't terrible. Disturbed by Our Experience at La Loma I'm writing to share a truly horrid experience we had at La Loma. One of my close friends flew into Colorado with her fiancé to celebrate their recent engagement. I made a reservation 20 days in advance to ensure we had a special evening (see attached for proof). What should have been a night of joy and celebration quickly devolved into an upsetting and racially charged situation -- one that left us shocked, violated, and deeply disappointed in the way management handled it. Dinner started out fine -- until dessert. Red Flag #1: An older Caucasian woman approached our table and told us, "You guys need to go pick up the check with your server because we have a 7:30pm flight to catch." We were stunned. We hadn't even ordered dessert yet. For context, our group was predominantly Asian with a few Caucasian guests. Her tone and approach were intrusive and condescending, and completely unprovoked. Red Flag #2: Another woman -- Caucasian, wearing a green dress -- suddenly stood right next to our table, leaning against the wall, and just stared at us while we ate. It was incredibly invasive and made us feel uncomfortable and watched. Red Flag #3: Three older Caucasian men from the same group began hovering near our table -- specifically around my 1-year-old daughter -- in a way that felt intentionally intimidating. At that point, I was overwhelmed and deeply disturbed. I approached the manager, Zach, and told him I felt surrounded and unsafe, especially with strangers looming around my toddler. Zach's response was shocking: "I can't do anything about this. I'm really sorry they're harassing you. I don't know if you know this about Castle Rock, but people behave like this. It's happened many times here, and you're not the first ones." He dismissed the behavior as "normal." Let me be clear: it is not normal for a group of older men to surround a 1-year-old child. That is not acceptable under any circumstances. Red Flag #4: The woman in the green dress then verbally attacked us, approaching our table and yelling, "You guys are horrible." We had done nothing to provoke any of this. We had a reservation, and there were plenty of empty tables. Yet we were being targeted. Red Flag #5: Despite knowing about the conflict, the host chose to seat their group directly in front of us. Why? Management was aware of the tension and had the opportunity to de-escalate the situation -- but they did the opposite. Red Flag #6: By this point, our evening was ruined. Their group sat laughing, pointing, and staring at us throughout dessert. I felt compelled to take a video to document the behavior (see attached). Red Flag #7: When we finally got up to leave, their entire table clapped at us mockingly. We responded with the middle finger -- not our proudest moment, but we were harassed to a breaking point. Final Thoughts: La Loma's management utterly failed in their responsibility to protect their guests. They allowed harassment to continue unchecked and took no meaningful steps to resolve the issue. When conflict arises between guests, it is the duty of staff to create space, give warnings, and if necessary, refuse service to the instigators. None of that happened. I don't want a comp. I don't want anything in return. What I do want is accountability. If the restaurant truly has video footage of the incident, I would welcome them sharing it publicly. Let people see what actually happened -- and how your team chose to handle it. This was an example of passive racism and poor leadership. It's 2025, and we are still experiencing this. I was at La Loma Castle Rock with my girlfriend Gigi and our family to celebrate a special moment. What should've been a joyful dinner turned into one of the most uncomfortable experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. A large group of patrons began harassing us--hovering around our table, making passive-aggressive remarks, glaring at our family, even mocking our kids as they ate churros. One woman came back to confront us directly, called us "horrible people," and filmed us as we tried to walk out. This was blatant harassment with clear racial undertones. The issue wasn't just the patrons--it was the staff's complete inaction. We told them what was happening and were essentially met with, "this kind of thing happens here." No intervention. No apology. Nothing. What made it worse was the follow-up. I called the restaurant later to calmly ask if they'd be willing to offer anything to make it right--a lunch, a gesture, some understanding. Instead, the man on the phone accused us of calling them racist (which we absolutely did not), said our review damaged their reputation, and told us we're no longer welcome. To be clear: we never attacked the staff. In fact, we felt bad for them--especially the servers who seemed caught in the middle. The issue was how management chose to do nothing while a hostile group openly harassed our family. It wasn't racism from the staff--it was a failure to protect their guests from it. Formerly La Loma. We love this place. I wouldn't say food is outstanding, although the mini chili rellenos are so good along with the green chili. The ambience is outstanding and the views are incredible. My wife and I love coming to Savina's in the winter when it is snowing so we can watch the snow fall. Great for sunset also. Visiting the area for the first time and my local friend recommended this place. First off, it is highly recommended that you have a reservation here - it sure does get busy! She was able to get a 4:45pm reservation on a Saturday We were seated in a few minutes in their patio area. It has a lovely view of Castle Rock. They promptly brought chips and salsa for us while we decided on our order. The food was amazing and so flavorful. My only regret was finishing off my whole plate plus having dessert. The food is average, nothing especial about it. the chimichangas were soft but we really liked the steak Fajitas. FYI, we had one of the best tasting tortillas here and they make in the house. The problem is attitude of the front hosts that really throughs us off every time we go here. Few calls I had with them in numerous times and physical encounters were all terrible. La Loma is starting to slip. Been going here since it opened in CRock. This use to be my favorite Restaraunt. Used to have the strongest drinks and the freshest food. It's changed...... The drinks no longer have discernible alcohol in them. They are weak and more sugary and syrupy than alcohol. This is the number one sign a Restaraunt has gotten cheap and is slipping. Gross. Compare that to the first year when the Restaraunt opened, it's a huge, noticeable difference. Some of their dishes are overcooked and under seasoned. The fish tacos have zero taste. Zero seasoning. We went there on our 15th Anniversary and without a reservation they were able to seat us (party of two). We heard the view is amazing but it was too dark to tell. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. We love that there were Mexican classics as well as elevated dishes. The price points were great. The margarita was yummy. Beautiful place, terrible handling of harassment and racism. We came here with a party of nine -- a mix of family and friends, mostly Asian -- to celebrate a recent engagement. While waiting for dessert -- churros for the kids at our table -- we were harassed by a similarly sized group of white patrons. They stood near our table, glared, made passive-aggressive remarks, and repeatedly pressured us to leave. Even after being seated elsewhere, one of them came back to confront us directly, calling us "horrible people" for not vacating quickly enough. They filmed us and applauded mockingly when we stood to walk outside. It was blatantly entitled and racially charged behavior. The worst part? The restaurant staff did nothing. When we brought it up, we were told that "this kind of thing happens here" -- essentially acknowledging the racism but taking no action to stop it. There was no intervention, no apology, and no accountability. This was the first day of a special trip for some of our guests who had just flown in. What should have been a joyful, celebratory evening turned into an upsetting and deeply disappointing experience. We will not be returning, and we cannot recommend this restaurant -- not because of the food, but because of the failure to protect their guests from harassment. New years dinner with a great view. The ambiance was very classy with hanging lights and candles on the table. Good for a date night or business meeting. Food: it's tex mex for sure. The flavor profiles were mild. The rice was good, little flavor, refried beans didn't have enough salt or fat to my liking. The tacos were big. The portion size of the plate was great. Just enough to get full. The carnitas was the winner from all three meats. The steak taco lacked flavor. It was seasoned on the lighter side. However, we need to remember we are in Colorado and the palate here is different. They had a Serrano sauce that was amazing! Had little heat but it definitely enhanced the taste. Please make sure to get the sauce! The guacamole was very good. It wasn't over powered in ingredients and had a very nice avocado taste. The queso was good too! Drinks: we all had an El Jefe Margarita. It was actually good. The lime/tequila ratio was perfect. You know there was a good amount of tequila in it too. I'd recommend this drink! Service: Jesse was our server for the evening. What a professional. He was so descriptive and knowledgeable about the menu. He didn't overwhelm with too much information but great key points to each plate. He was attentive and our drinks were never empty. This was my first time here and he made a great impression! He's very patient with his guests and will take the time to describe the collection of tequila (there's a lot!) that they have. Rating: I give it a 4 because of the flavor profiles not hitting the mark. The service was a 5 for sure! Ambiance was a 5 too! It's something to try down in Castle Rock. It's in my radar now! I'm giving this a 3 star and first want to say check in is great, the service was incredible, exactly what you expect for a nicer type restaurant. Our server Tom was fantastic. Now for the bad. The food is subpar, the green chili sauce tastes like green chilis were dumped out of a can, heated up and thrown on a plate with some pork. The chili rellanos were good and crispy, the salsa tastes a little like tomato paste, the chicken enchiladas are actually decent and honestly the food is way overpriced, but I believe you're paying for the ambiance. Lastly, the spicy margarita has zero spice, but the quality was good. Wish their green chili sauce was like the original La Lomas back in the day, but that recipe is long gone:( read more

Service was terrible. We got seated and someone other than our server got our drink order. Our drinks took about 15 minutes to get to us. Sunny (our server) came by and took our appetizer order but abruptly walked away and we didn't see her again for 20+ minutes. I finally flagged down a manager (I believe) after we'd been sitting there for 30 minutes without water or had our dinner order taken. He took our orders and promptly brought me a second drink which was nice. Sunny did check in once while we were eating and then disappeared again for 20 or so minutes. It was my birthday so we were wanting dessert, but we only had so much time as we had to be somewhere. Sunny finally comes over and we order dessert. What happened next? You guessed it, she disappeared. We had to wait to get the check and then wait some more to get our card back. The table next to us had to flag her down for more drinks and to give their order as well. Overall, the food was decent. It seemed like with each of my margaritas I just kept getting more ice, so 3 $16 margaritas ended up being equivalent to 1 margarita elsewhere.
