This is such a beautiful restaurant, but unfortunately the food doesn't match up. We had the happy hour and my husband described it as glorified Taco Bell- no authenticity to the food. We ordered the appetizer platter and happy hour tacos which were so plain and bland with no creativity. Chicken fajita nachos were listed on our platter and apparently that is just a crispy triangle with chicken in it and they called that nachos- very deceiving. I've been twice now and both times, I left happy and impressed. This last time my coworkers and I sat in the enclosed patio area - with the amazing views. We called ahead and made reservations with this request - likely not absolutely needed, but you know, just in case. Our waiter was great and brought out water, chips and salsa right as we were sitting down. Our party arrived in waves but he didn't mind, he was there, watching in the background. We went in for dinner last night since we had never been. The service was terrible. When we got there we were told it was about a 25 minute wait. We were seated within 15 minutes which was great. We sat in the middle room which was freezing but we waited a good 10 minutes before anyone came to see us. We went through a couple baskets of chips & salsa because our waitress never came to take our food order. By the time we ordered, our food took over 30 minutes and by this point, the restaurant was clearly not busy. We spent more time waiting for service and to receive our food then it took us to eat. Horrible experience last night ! Our favorite restaurant for many years has went downhill. Servers are inexperienced & have no knowledge in this industry!!! Our family has owned restaurants for 32 years in Colorado, so we are very knowledgeable in this industry! For the price point & experience your clientele expect knowledge, prompt service ! Which fell below average on this visit by far . We had to pile up our own dishes all throughout the 4 hour dinner of 20 + ppl we had attending from all across the front range area . We had to ask for water, drinks & someone to clear the table several times . It was a bit embarrassing that we chose our favorite place & had such an inexperienced waiter & assistant. Supervisors were walking the floor just to keep turning tables. They had no contact with the customers nor did they care to check on any tables . Maybe, this should be included in your duties ?? The servers were not busy , in fact the restaurant wasn't busy . They had time to chat by the bar while we walked up and ordered our own drinks throughout the evening. This should have been a red flag There were plenty of staff with different job titles observing & still no assistance or direction was given . It was an epic failure in the service area for sure. More mature staff with a passion for this industry need to be incorporated on your floor !!!! Do better !!! Until then we are gonna take our business elsewhere. read more

The Saturday night we went happened to be the same evening as a local high school's homecoming, so the restaurant was packed! It didn't take us long, however, to find out why they are so popular... This would be my recommendation for food & drinks: Apps & Beverages: Start with a round of margaritas & the Mini Chile Rellenos for an appetizer (I honestly could just have ordered the Chile Rellenos for a meal - they are AMAZING) Main Course: If you're okay with leftovers, order the Shrimp Fajitas, Chicken Fajitas or Pacifica Grilled Shrimp. The Tacos Dorados were okay. No one at our table ordered Grandma's Green Chile as a main meal, but I dream about doing so at least once a week. We all loved it so much with our app, that we had to have a side with our main meals. Aside from the food/drinks, the views from this place are stunning. Traditionally they aren't served with just chicken, tortilla and sauce. The extras should be the for free. I didn't realize I had to pay extra for the normal freebies. Met up with a friend and decided to eat here. It's pretty inside. Make a reservation because they can get busy. With a reservation we didn't have time to warm ourselves by the warming station in the waiting area. A host walked us back to our table at once. Jordan was our server and he was excellent. Polite, personable and attentive. We both had mimosas but they were meh. The orange juice seemed off in taste. The grilled shrimp salad I had was tasty. The shrimp grilled to perfection and large in size. I loved it. The salad was fine. She had quesadillas which she said were ok. She preferred my salad. We were sat in the enclosed patio. The view was beautiful but the patio could use more heating. It was cold especially with people walking in and out to see the view. I would come again and for a nice occasion. Wanted some good mexican food. Seems like everything near us is so mediocre. Stumbled on Savina's through a Facebook post. It was very busy at 12:00 on Sunday so instead of waiting for a table we sat at the bar. Charlie and Josh were the best bartenders. They were very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. We had chili rellenos and chicken enchiladas smothered with their awesome green chili. Everything was very tasty with just the right amount of spice. I am very particular about Mexican food and Savina's did not disappoint, and the house margaritas were very good also. La Loma has been on my radar for awhile and we finally got the chance to visit the Castle Rock location. The only thing memorable with our experience were the scenic views outside but I wouldn't go back and eat here. I judge a Mexican restaurant by their enchiladas personally and this place gave me some of the worst I've had in a while. Especially the sauce on them, awful. Crunchy taco was just alright, chips and salsa were nothing special and the guacamole was a poor example of what actual guacamole actually tastes like. I saw one of the business owners reply to a review that their guacamole as well as all of their salsas and sauces are made in house daily and that they have first priority with their premier food vendor on avocados giving them some of the best produce in the state. Sure didn't taste like it, I've had better guacamole from grocery stores. There is no way that's premier or first priority, sorry not sorry to say it. Also my partner barely ate any of her taco salad it was so disappointing. But hey there's plenty of parking in the lot so that's a plus am I right? La Loma just didn't wow me enough to want to go back to try any other menu items or their drinks. Also- if this supposed to be classified as "Tex-Mex" like it is here on Yelp..it is FAR from it. First, I have to say the location on this restaurant is TOPS! The scenic view and potential atmosphere is great! Atmosphere: The restaurant is very clean (including the restrooms), except one location - the service station in the south east corner. The decor, lighting, and large panoramic windows all around make for a great dining experience, should you get that. Unfortunately, we were sat at this lonely little table right next to the service station where we had to look at and smell the dirty dish water and service supplies. We commented about it when we were sat, but the hostess said that we couldn't be seated anywhere else. However, after being seated, we looked around and noticed a couple other tables available in MUCH better locations than where we were. The location of our table should not have had a table there at all! You don't sit customers next to your dirtiest location in the dinning area. Especially when you own a location as nice as this one. Food: The food is excellent and you get plenty of it for the price. We were definitely pleased with the quality and quantity for the value. I had the double burritos, and my partner had the Carne Guisada. We both enjoyed the taste of our meals. Service: The service has something left to be desired here. Majority of the staff look like they can't wait to go home and don't seem to care about customer satisfaction at all. When you work in the service industry, you should be there because you enjoy providing a service to people, not act like it's a terrible chore your parents told you to do. The hostess had no compassion for where we were being seated and the waitress had a 'I'm too busy for you' impression. The only person we saw that actually had a good and proper attitude was the guy in the grey suit who brought our food to us. We even heard the wait staff arguing with each other in the corner, something about who's tougher/stronger, or something. Either way, something customers should never hear. We arrived around 11am to a restaurant that seemed prepared for the upcoming rush. The restaurant was bright and clean. Kyle introduced himself asking if we wanted anything to drink. We started with the Cadillac Margaritas. They were delicious, prompting us to have one more. We settled on the combination fajita platter for two. The chicken and steak were juicy and tender. It was mostly iceberg lettuce with minimal tiny bits of pineapple and mango. The chicken was overcooked and there were 3 small pieces of avocado. There was minimal dressing added to the lettuce. I would give it 1 star. This dish needs to be revisited from the head chef. The service is always good and the building is impressive. Next time back to the chicken fajitas. read more
