I really like bbq and i keep an eye out for new places...i was happy to see S.B.H. bbq open on pelham road. I know preparing all the different types of meats is a long, hard & time consuming process that is not cheap. i'm willing & prepared to pay for good meat like this. I liked their food it was good not great. What really turned me off was the pricing of their sides $3.10 for 17 krinkle cut fries (i counted). They were not homemade or special fries in any way, likely frozen food service fries cooked there. Keeping it in perspective Publix sells a 5lb bag of Potatoes for $2.99. Same with their beans $3.10 for 2x4x2 inch paper tray of beans which were good but they serve what amounted to 2 or 3 bites of beans. It was good food but i won't go back because of the pricing on items that don't cost much to make. I paid $16.93 for a Brisket sandwich fries, beans & water at lunch...their food is not nearly as good as Smokin Pig or Smoke on the Water neither of which are cheap places but I never been there and felt like I didn't get what a paid for. First time. I didn't realize smoked ribs could be juicy. These are. Good smoke ring but not too heavy on smoke taste. Really the best ribs around that I've tried. The mac and cheese is so-so, with more like a cheese sauce than cheese. I want to come back to try the pulled pork and brisket. Brisket was good but I didn't care for their sausage. My issue was the costs. I got the brisket dinner plate which advertised 1/2 lb of brisket for $15. What I got was 2 slices. Stopped for a late lunch on a road trip. We had the Judges Plate, Pulled Pork Sandwich, brisket sandwich, SOB beans, Mac & Cheese, and coleslaw. Absolutely the best bbq we have ever had. The meat is good that it doesn't need sauce, but the house made bbq sauces are so good that you will want to use them anyway. Sides were all delicious and service was quick and friendly. Added bonus is proximity to I85 if you need to pick one go for brisket or ribs they are a master class in meat. read more

All the food here is delicious and we recommend this restaurant for BBQ in Greenville. We've tried the pulled pork, beef brisket, smoked turkey and smoked wings. All were really delicious! Also we had the coleslaw, mac n cheese and banana pudding and everything was great! The only issue is the food is so good that on a recent Friday evening we had to stand in line for half an hour to get into the restaurant to pick up our takeout order that we had called into the restaurant and paid for by credit card over the phone. We also got food here on Super Bowl Sunday and for some reason they were not answering their phones (probably too busy). We decided to just go and order food to go at the restaurant and when we arrived (around 4:00) we were the only customers there. They were so nice to us they even carried our large takeout order to the car for us! Make sure if you go here to know that they have a self-serve BBQ sauce bar in the back. If you are getting takeout, you need to go get your sauces yourself or you won't get any. But overall SBH BBQ has excellent smoked food/BBQ and we recommend you try it! read more

This is competition BBQ that is cooked daily. Warning, if you simply compare this place to others solely on price you will be disappointed. This isn't cheap BBQ, heart and soul is put into this food daily. They cook a certain amount of food daily and when they run out they close. Love this!!! Twice I've eaten the pork sandwich and let me tell you it comes with a heaping pile of pork on your bun. I have only been to this place twice and only had the brisket here so my rating is for the brisket only. Can't wait to try other menu items though if they are anywhere near as good as the brisket. I have posted brisket reviews for other BBQ shops in town but I've finally found the top dog and it's not even close; this place is it! They seemingly do everything right here, which is why they rightfully claim to serve competition-level brisket. Brisket is a cheap cut but all the BBQ places charge about $20/pound for it. Why? Because of all the love that goes into doing it low and slow, rendering out the fat and turning that tough cut into tender, yummy goodness. There is nobody in town that does this better in my opinion, and I have tried them all. They cook it just right so you end up with a nice smoke ring but it's neither under or overcooked. They slice it across the grain as you are supposed to do and I was told they don't even use injections, with is a big plus for me since I'm trying to avoid excess sugars and phosphates. Yet it's still nice and juicy with great meaty flavor, properly seasoned and pulls apart perfectly as brisket is supposed to. They don't put it in the fridge and warm it up in the microwave like at least one place in town does (which is a crime for brisket lovers). I came around 3pm on a Saturday and around 6pm on a Wednesday and on both trips received the same, fresh high-quality cuts. If you love great brisket, you definitely need to try this joint! read more

This is my second time stopping in to place for a to-go order. The first time I had five people at my home waiting for dinner. When I brought it in I had ordered a quart size container of slaw which was not included in my to go bag but did not know until I got home. We were upset that there was no sides for dinner to go with our barbecue but we just chalked it up to a bad mistake. To go orders should be reviewed by the restaurant to make sure they got it right before you leave. Here I am about 30 days later and give them a second try I stopped in to get a to go order for myself and my wife. I placed my order and they verbally confirmed what I had ordered. I also placed an order for a side that they also reconfirmed that I had ordered. When I got home my wife's meal was not included in the bag nor was the side order included. I called back to the restaurant and Erin said she was sorry. I told her two strikes was all they got and I was going to place a Review and would never return to the restaurant. This place came to me recommended by a friend. I would never take another chance on these guys again. They have very unusual operating hours and the last three times I've been in this restaurant they were out of at least two things on the menu (out of ribs - really?). I will not be returning to this restaurant ever. I do not recommend them. I don't know how anyone can stay in business operating the way they do. I guess we can keep an eye on this place and will see them out of business like a lot of other places. During Covid you should try a little harder. I started to buy ribeye steaks at the grocery store for dinner tonight and now I wish I had. As a final note I would like to comment that the food here is priced extremely high in comparison to any other barbecue restaurant I've been to.
