    Chicken Mumbo

Early on a Friday evening..good crowd but not packed. Fairly 'spirited' would be hard to have a convo. Seated right away and got food and drink in play. Ordered chicken Mumbo pizza.... Detroit ish style. Had a side of chopped jalapenos...almost a garidina feel. Service.was good. Food prep time felt long. Give it a go!

Stopped in on a Friday night in Navy Yard. They have a large enclosed patio that is warm and inviting. Both the main restaurant and patio are loud environments though. Our server was efficient. Ordered a small half pepperoni and half meatball Detroit style pizza. The crust was perfectly crisp and chewy. Plenty of cheese for a good pull. Both sides of the pizza had good flavor. There weren't as many meatball pieces as I expected but the other half was loaded with pepperoni. There's a nice variety of menu items.

I absolutely love Scarlet Oak. It is one of Washington, DC's true hidden gems. A part of me wants to keep it all to myself, but here is another gift from your fairy foodie godmother because I believe in sharing joy through great food. From the moment you walk in, the restaurant looks gorgeous, smells incredible, and somehow there is rarely a wait. In DC, that feels like winning the lottery. The vibe is relaxed, the music is just right, and the staff moves with purpose and friendliness every single time. Let us talk about the drinks. They are elite. They are dangerous in the best way. And the guava lemonade? That is not just a drink, it is an experience. Trust me like you trust your GPS. I ordered the Cobb salad, and it was fresh, colorful, and full of flavor. Then the wings arrived... and let me tell you, those wings will have you planning your next visit before you even finish the first plate. You will strongly consider ordering another batch to go, just for the car ride home. If you want delicious food, unforgettable drinks, a chill atmosphere, and a place that never disappoints, Scarlet Oak is absolutely the move. Run, do not walk.

I came here for a happy hour and it was a pleasant surprise! I came here upon opening at 4pm. Happy hour was only available at the bar and some high top seats. We were quickly served some water. The ambiance is great. It became full as we stayed at the place longer and they had plenty of seats everywhere. My friend and I shared the Detroit style cheese pizza and risotto balls. The risotto balls we're okay - I definitely have had better. The Detroit style cheese pizza was absolutely wonderful though! We ended up getting a second order. They service it with ranch and a great spicy pickle relish. I would definitely go back again!

As friends who hadn't seen each other in a while, we stopped by Scarlet Oak to catch up over drinks and a few snacks. It was a gorgeous evening, perfect for sitting outside and enjoying the weather. Although we just missed the Happy Hour window, we still had a great time. The food and drinks hit the spot, and the company made it even better.

Chill spot to go for drinks and food. Staff is pretty friendly. I recommend ordering the salad. They come in a HUGE bowl. My friends and I were pretty shocked lol. They also make excellent espresso martinis.

I've lived near this place for years and for some reason never tried it until today! Went during their brunch, there are great bottomless options that you can choose from. The food was really great and fresh and filling, the service was also great. Everything came out quickly & our server kept the drinks coming and checking in. The ambiance is also nice, there's an option for covered outdoor dining, indoor dining and also sitting at the bar. Would definitely go again, this may be a new staple!

Food was good, service was pretty good and the overall experience was in line for the price. Was a little disappointed they ran out of Diet Coke or so I was told and then saw an employee carrying Diet Coke a few minutes later.

Nice all around American food restaurant. Pizza, pasta, ribs and many salads and appetizers. We tried all and they were great. Server was excellent, large beer and wine selection. Nice outdoor dining too. Most highly recommended!

This place is AMAZING! The food is incredible! The service is amazing! The only downside: it is so incredibly loud... I don't know if it's the acoustics in this building or what but it sounds like everyone is yelling... it is difficult to have a conversation at a table. Apparently it's a Wednesday thing because it's half off bottles of wine (that's what our server said). But I would definitely come back here! The food is so good! Where it's late we're going to sidecar, but there was no indoor seating and it was raining so we went next door since they served the same pizza and it was so worth it! Highly recommend!

Experience here was terrible. The hostess was very cold, and didn't say much to us at all when we arrived. Our server was friendly and quick to take our order. Food was the worst of all -- 3 different pasta dishes, all flavorless, pasta was either severely overcooked or super undercooked. Sauces all tasted like water and lacked seasoning. Would not recommended. I didn't see online, but there's also a 20% service fee added to every bill, which isn't considered a gratuity. Not at all worth it. The server waived the bill, which was a nice gesture.

Great service! We sat outside and the waiter offered my dog a water dish right away and was very attentive throughout our dining experience. I ordered the cheeseburger with fries. It was good but I wish it only had 1 patty instead of 2. I would rate it a 7 out of 10.

I just want to make people aware that is restaurant is serving food under 4 different restaurant names which i find to be extremely weird. Early bird sells breakfast burritos, which apparently you can only normally get to go but get in restaurant at "scarlet oak" on Saturday and Sunday. They also appear to be serving sushi which is under a different nameand pizza under a different name "side door pizza."Overall, it's just a bit weird to serve 3 different foods under 4 restaurant names, almost like a ghost kitchen. I tried out early bird burrito from early bird take out and it was 3/5. The early bird latte wasn't great. Overall, would not return.

Considering the food consistently misses the mark, I'm not surprised I found a piece of cardboard in my salad.

First off: this is no longer the Moon Rabbit restaurant. I never remembered the name. Only the…read morelocation. And the bunny logo. That restaurant moved to Penn Quarter a year ago and it's been about 4 years since I last went. I didn't even think I was in a new restaurant until I couldn't find the gold rabbit logo. The interior of the two restaurants is similar enough and having rolls with salmon roe topping your honey miso butter is not far off from what you might have found eating a fried chicken dish with a subtle Vietnamese twist at Moon Rabbit. The concept of WillowSong is nothing new: farm-to-table. But the flavors are beyond what we could of expected! The waiter explained how the chefs source their food from farms within a certain geographical radius. I definitely recommend a visit here for a special dinner that will leave you wanting to come back. The house made milk bread was served piping hot. The aroma - as I picked one roll up - was so indicative of bread you knew you were going to enjoy. The honey miso butter was not typical, and I loved it. It had a citrusy aftertaste and was not too sweet. I didn't eat the salmon roe - mentioned earlier topping the honey miso butter - but it was an interesting juxtaposition. The Squid Ink Oricchiette - black elbow pasta - was lovely. I asked the waiter, "Which is more popular here, the sea bass or the oricchiette?" He confidently said that if he had to choose, it would be the oricchiette and the Yelp reviews say the same. There was an inherent subtle heat and the jumbo lump crab meat was tasty. The squid ink pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the tomato jus herb crumble was well-seasoned. The micro greens garnish added such a nice, crisp crunch. The citrus olive oil ricotta - underneath of the pasta - had a good balancing effect. The grilled maple citrus pork chop - when featured - is a not-to-miss! The flavors were divine. You got the sweetness of the maple sauce and a really nice sear with the char-grilled aftertaste. Just the kind of flavor I look for. Cutting into the pork chop was easy as it was so tender. All of the herb and vegetable flavors in the charred gratin (Swiss chard simmered in a creamy garlic sauce) really came together for something delightful. The Swiss chard was cooked well, yet had a good crunch with a definite farm-to-table flavor, straight from the garden. We were here on a weekend night. A rowdier after-9pm crowd formed for a televised game. I've seen it much busier here on weeknights at Moon Rabbit, before 9pm, and the waiter said the crowds here are similar. I liked that it was more bustling on the boardwalk and calmer inside of this restaurant, before the sporting event crowd around the bar. There are so many restaurants to choose from at the Wharf, and many of them are packed and touristy. When you step inside of WillowSong, there is no crowding and the environment is calm. I would next like to try the Hamache Tartar. It is made with chili oil, preserved lemon, scallion, cashew, Eva's Garden mouse melon, serrano and cilantro. The staff said the breakfasts at WillowSong are very popular and are from 9am to 1pm. Cornmeal pancakes? Hello. Look at the Yelp photos to see the breakfast offering deliciousness at WillowSong. If the birthday dessert that we enjoyed was any indication, I would have to believe him. It was a chocolate brownie-like pastry with granola and graham crust, flowers and fruit. The dark chocolate ganache was decadent. This was a hazelnut dessert which I would have never ordered because I find the flavor overpowering. They kindly surprised us by bringing out a dessert they chose, with a lit candle and singing. I was so glad that the hazelnut flavor was subtle and that it did not taste like a Nutella dessert. The birthday dessert was subtlety-flavored with hazelnut but chocolatey and rich, otherwise. I think there was oatmeal or granola in it. This was a decadent experience. Love that the restaurant has margaritas and sangrias on draught. In the sangria you can find: mango purée, white wine, apple brandy and soda water. Would love to try, next time. As much as I love the Vietnamese fusion fare at Moon Rabbit, I was equally as delighted with the more global dining experience at WillowSong. And the lovely, warm service.

On Sundays, they only offer their bottomless brunch which has a selection of appetizers, entrée and deserts. We really liked their apps special call outs were sugar bacon, deviled eggs and spinach artichoke dip. The loaded nachos were nice too. Entrée portions were huge. Fried chicken a bit too oily and some what bland. Maryland crab cakes missed the mark. Deserts were small portions of ice-cream with brownie and cake. We started with the steak nachos, and while the steak itself was really good, the nachos overall were a little below average. They just didn't have the flavor or balance I was hoping for. We also ordered the fish and chips, but they were very heavy and greasy, to the point where we decided not to finish them. For drinks, I had a margarita that was overly sour and not very enjoyable. My husband had an IPA on draft and said that was really good, so the beer selection may be the better route here. Unfortunately, the service was also not great, which made the overall experience feel a bit underwhelming. I could see this being an okay place to watch a game or grab a beer, but based on our visit, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back for the food or cocktails.

The honey drizzle on top took them to another level, and the creamy green dipping sauce paired perfectly with the wings in my opinion. I also had the maple Caesar salad.
