I stopped on inside on my way from coming to the city and I had this placed bookmarked to try out for so long. The cookies were very big and fulfilling and they are definitely super sweet. The staff was very helpful with describing all the different flavors and how eaach tasted. They were 2 for 6$ which js pretty moderate but expensive for a cookie. They were good for what it was worth and they have some type of reward program when you make purchases there. I don't think I'll come back but it was nice to try. read more

I was so excited to finally visit this place in person after having tried their cookies from a friend. But I was so disappointed to find such a limited selection - only about 8 flavor options and none of them were really calling for me. Of the ones I tried, the peanut butter was the best because of the peanut butter chips and the peanut butter frosting. But the s'mores brownie was a total fail - the graham cracker crust was so dry that it crumbled to pieces AND it had zero flavor. The brownie was also dry and didn't have enough chocolate chips for my taste. Now I'm nervous to give this place another try. I guess I know now just to pass if nothing looks particularly exciting. I am on a quest to try all the best chocolate chip cookies in NYC.  So naturally Mr. Zachary "Schmackary" Schmahl's Schmackary's in the Theater District was on my list of shops to visit. I purchased The Classic ($3.25) which was a chocolate chip with the semi-sweet variety of chocolate and a touch of sea salt. The sea salt was well done, not too much and subtle. The cookie was tender but not flimsy. And the sweetness level was appropriate. Personally, I thought dark chocolate would really cause me to give it a standing ovation but semi-sweet was good too, and they sure didn't skimp on the quantity of said chocolate.   Schmackary's is teeny but still has a couple of stools at a counter in case you want to eat your sweets in-house. Seems like crowds come and go like ocean waves; it was jam-packed when I arrived and roomier when I left. There were almost too many cookie options to choose from including frosted ones, and there were beverages for sale too. Service was efficient yet friendly. Verdict: Definitely worth trying, especially pre- or post-Broadway show! read more

YUM. These cookies are made fresh and the flavors are so fun to try. I like how they offer deals when you buy more cookies. The hours are now extended so they close at 11pm. If you come around 10:30pm, they offer buy one get one free if they have a lot of cookies left. I really LOVED the hummingbird cookie because the pineapple made it very moist and the cream cheese frosting was the best way to tie all the flavors together. The yogi bare was like a cowgirl cookie but slightly on the drier side. The cookie n cream and the funfetti cookies were both extremely sweet and decadent but some of the best selling flavors. Definitely a different kind of cookie than levain but worth a try if you are in the Times Square area!! read more

My favorite cookie place in New York City! It's a relatively small storefront that's always packed, but Schmackary's has such great variety of cookies that it's always worth a visit. There's a cookie for everyone! They have their common cookies out year round, but frequently offer seasonal cookies. Their Halloween cookies, though I missed the window, looked absolutely adorable. As a bonus, they now ship cookies around the country! I'm excited to enjoy cookies from Schmackary's without having to venture into the city. read more

Have to say I'm a big fan. I saw a YouTube video featuring this place and I've wanted to try it ever since. I love their style of cookie - big, slightly firm, chewy. They have several different flavors to choose from, including special seasonal flavors. If you go this holiday season, I highly recommend getting the Dirty Peppermint. This had to be my favorite cookie out of the handful I tried. The Eggnog was not good - highly do not recommend. The Funfetti seems to be the most popular cookie here. I definitely recommend trying this one as well. I love the texture of the frosting they put on top of the cookie. I also enjoyed the Caramel Apple and Cookie Butter cookies. The establishment is cozy and quaint. I think getting a box of these for someone is such a good gift idea! Definitely one of my new favorite cookie places in NYC. read more

I don't get the hype for these cookies. They are very greasy and overpriced. Don't get me wrong the cookies were okay but honestly ridiculously overpriced for a cookie. I got the pina colada cookie and it was very sweet and actually had a strong pina colada flavor but the greasiness and you would sit there wondering why you got this cookie. They also have very low inventory. On the bright side, I did find something I love here. It was the Belvoir elderflower and rose lemonade cocktail. Omg- first time trying Schmackarys and honestly it's the best dessert to bring over to cheer someone up, get back together from a break up, the best "I'm sorry" cookie. This is a way to a girls (or guys) heart! Must try if you are in the area. They also deliver from Yelp and the service is super fast. There is a delivery fee, but it's totally worth it! This place has been on my radar for a while so I made a point to try it this past weekend and I'm glad I did. When I arrived I perused the menu a bit and ultimately decided on the cookies n cream, funfetti and cookie dough. I quickly dug in taking a piece of each and they were magical. All of them so chewy and delicious. My favorite was the cookie dough and the cookies n cream a very close second. They are a decent size and priced reasonably. We had these cookies brought to the office by one of our clients in celebration of my Boss' birthday. My favorite flavors is the Cookies and Cream and the Red Velvet. I've passed by this place many times to see a long line waiting outside. Finally got a chance to try it. Cookies were 2 for $6 so me and friend both got one. My friend got the chocolate chip cookie and I got the cookie butter one. I was originally torn between the two so let my friend have the chocolate chip one. Tbh I thought the cookie butter meant butter cookie... turns out it's not quite?? It's something super sweet. I love how the outside texture has some sort of crunchy shell. I discovered this place after craving something sweet after watching a Broadway play. I braved the line in the cold. It must be good for people to wait in the cold for this. I came back for the 2nd time to try their cookies and it was a disappointment. I had the chocolate explosion and let me tell you, it's spicy. I think they didn't wash the spatula clean and use it on the cookie mix. It was my first time having spicy cookie. My love for cookie slowly disappear after having the "spicy cookie". I thought I was imagining it but my boyfriend said it was spicy too. I love cookie and really wanted it to taste good but it was a disappointment. The coffee was fairly strong, which I liked for that morning, and I tried an everything scone for the first time. Cookies here are yummy, but they are decadent. I like rich desserts, but I can't do more than one cookie here and even one is a lot. Most are soft and covered in icing. Really flavorful but sweet. My fav flavors are cookies and cream and funfetti. There are a few seats inside, but I wouldn't count on getting one since there are only a few and this place is popular. Passed by this shop randomly and immediately became a fan! There is something retro here that I like. At first, I thought the price per cookie was on a pricey side but it is honestly very worth it! I actually ended up eating the two chocolate chip cookies that I bought here the next day and it still tasted so fresh! I popped it in the microwave for less than 10 seconds and I got a gooey chocolate chips, soft center, and a little bit of a crunch around the edges. After 4 failed attempts to find a dessert place, me and my bestie bumped into this little shop. Upon all the great reviews we were still hesitant to try them. Upon walking in it was very small. Not that it matters but, I could only image if it were busy... we would be standing outside freezing. All to say they were SO HARD, so DRY, so NOT WORTH ANYONE'S MONEY AT ALL!!! I bought 3 cookies and a hot cocoa for $15.50 ... I instantly wanted my money back. Another thing I really disliked was the fact that when I was waiting for my hot chocolate one of the employees was watching me the entire time while having a very loud convo in the back. Saw me take a bite of my cookie and immediately asked "are you staying orrr...." In a very snarky sarcastic way. Its worrisome I discovered this place- it's too delicious and too close to where I live. Ever since I discovered this cookie place, I've been going every week. They have a different list of flavors every time I go, so its been fun trying new flavors I haven't had yet. Obviously their classic chocolate chip is amazing- great balance of sweetness with a pinch of salt that really highlights the flavors. My personal favorite so far was funfetti. Also, their maple bacon cookie pairs amazing with some vanilla ice cream. Cookies are freshly made and warm and gooey when you buy them from the store. I bought a dozen assorted cookies to take to a housewarming party. Everybody loved the cookies! I only got to try the classic (chocolate chip with sea salt) and peanut butter ones. Both were delicious! The cookies are large, chewy, and soft. Schmackary's has a cute little storefront. There are a few tables to sit at. Staff is very friendly too. Apparently, they always have rotating flavors so I got to remember to drop by again the next time I'm near Times Square! I like the name of this place, and the cookies are pretty good too. My Airbnb host recommended this place saying it was started by a Broadway actor. I bought her 2, a box of 6 to take home, and 2 to eat right then and there with my friend. The total: around $20 The chocolate chip and funfetti were the best. They're priced at $2.75/cookie. Pricey, but the more you buy, the cheaper they get. Buy a box of 6, and it comes down to $2 each. Overall, pretty good. I had Levain 2 years ago, and they are both good. Obsessed with this cookie spot! They're pretty large in size and there's a wide variety of flavors, so wide that they actually rotate through flavors on a day to day basis. You can check what flavors they will have the day you visit by checking their website. I went twice within a week. The first time, I tried the carrot cake cookie. It was perfection. So moist, flavorful, slightly crunchy at the edges and soft and chewy on the inside. I also tried the dirty leprechaun which was a dark chocolate cookie with mint! I want to eat every flavor they have so I guess I'll just have to come back to NYC lol. My second visit I grabbed 6 cookies to go to take home with me. They come in a cute box.
