I used to love going to Sconehenge, until an encounter I had there with an employee named Rochelle Arucan. Upon inquiring further, she is the "Operations Manager" and has no direct retail role at the store. I was meeting a person there to sell them an iPad 9th Gen that I had listed on Facebook Marketplace. While I was waiting I decided to get a latte and a berry scone. The transaction was fine. And the food was fine. However, Rochelle came up to me and began interrogating me. She was invasive and rude. I asked her what her role was there. And I told her that I'd prefer to take my business elsewhere and couldn't support a business with an employee that was so rude. I'll meet to sell my iPad elsewhere, which is exactly what I did. Sconehenge really needs to reconsider their employment of Rochelle. read more

We were four in our party and our experience was mixed (mostly negative). My friend enjoyed her 'scoffle'' although it was pretty small. I didn't care for the biscuit breakfast sandwich and neither did my husband. And my other friend thought his eggs had a weird aftertaste. Service was slow but granted, it was pretty busy. I've gotten takeout twice here during the pandemic - I first heard about it because someone on Nextdoor recommended their breakfast burritos. Ordering is easy online, and pickup is at their door. And breakfast burritos are what I ordered! They are HUGE, tasty, and come with an amazing roasted tomato salsa. After adding hash browns and a meat, it comes to $10.5, and it lasts me 1.5 meals. The first time I got bacon, and honestly I felt disappointed at how little bacon I got. Today I ordered it with chorizo, and there was a very generous amount of chorizo...so go with chorizo! I only wish I had more salsa - I'll be sure to ask for an extra next time. And of course you have to try a scone - they are super light and fluffy. It doesn't seem like the online ordering system allows me to choose the scone, so I think (?) I get whatever they feel like giving me. read more

This place is underrated and deserves more attention. The location is on a quieter area where there isn't too much foot traffic. But it's a nice easy walk and also lots of street parking. The food is incredible and feels healthy for breakfast. Well the orders we chose anyways. Coffee is rather pricey though and getting an alternative milk was an extra $2 so my latte with added syrup ended up being $7+ . The service was fast and friendly. I think the best way to enjoy a Sconehenge scone is to heat it up for 10 seconds so it's nice and soft. The only place I've ever gotten their scones is from Whole Foods, so I was super excited to make the trek all the way from San Jose to get some fresh Sconehenge scones straight from the source! There's only one scone of the day that's "fresh". If you order any of the other flavors, they literally just pop one out of the bag and put it on a plate. :( The scone of the day is bigger than the usual bagged kind and was good, but it wasn't straight out of the oven or anything so wasn't particularly delicious. Maybe I could have asked for them to heat it for a few seconds but kind of feels rude. So turns out that this cafe isn't really focused on the scones. They sell a full cafe menu and everything is reasonably priced. We also got a chorizo egg scramble that was tasty. It also wasn't busy for Sunday brunch. Would recommend coming for a solid brunch meal, but not necessarily because you're looking to eat some delicious Sconehenge scones. Might as well just get that from the grocery store. read more

Good, solid, dependable, basic breakfast food. I ordered the eggs benedict, everything was hot, hash browns could have been crispier but that always seems to be true anywhere I go. Hubs ordered Huevos Revueltos, which was very spicy and delicious. Restaurant and restrooms were clean and bright. There was a beautiful selection of pastries of which we did not partake. I didn't like the fact that we were served on paper plates but with labor shortages, I'll give that a pass. The other neg was serving jelly in bulk jars with a spoon - just too unsanitary for me, especially these days. We've driven by this place so many times, and never given it a try! Sconehenge did not disappointment. I'm have been buying galettes from this bakery for years. I found a square of gelatin in my galette this last time. The ingredients do not include gelatin (which is a pork product). We are a halal family and I was really surprised. I called and was told "sorry it should have been melted first". I said that is not the point. Gelatin is not listed as an ingredient. The first time I encountered Sconehenge was 3 years ago at an event where they were offering samples of their signature pastries. There were dozens of caterers and restaurants peddling their wares, but I kept coming back to Sconehenge over and over again throughout the night. I think I was their number one fan. And to this day, I'm still their number one fan. Since I don't live too close to Berkeley, I don't frequent their storefront often. But when I'm in the area during the day, I have to stop by and pick up some scones. I usually get a package of blueberry or mixed berry for myself, while my wife swears by the crystalized ginger and lemon ones. Thankfully, Sconehenge sells their wares in several local markets throughout the Bay Area. If I see them anywhere, I can't help but purchase them. Sconehenge has always been a favorite of mine as a local. Their brunch is always solid and scones are so delish. You really can't go wrong here; there's something for everyone! Portions are large, leaving you stuffed at the end of your meal. They've recently opened their outdoor dining space- about 8 tables for 2. Perfect for a brunch date. Really solid breakfast burrito here. It's obviously really fresh but basically only comes with scrambled eggs, melty cheese, and specks of green Anaheim chilies...but you can add hash brown and bacon -- which I did and completely recommend! Going back to the basics is nice sometimes and, indeed, all the components are individually well-cooked and tasty, but I just can't imagine this being anywhere near as satisfying without at least one upgrade (and I really wasn't given much bacon; $8 vs $12). read more

I noticed from the photos that the portions are huge but we still ordered our own dishes. I went with the Huevos Revueltos, which was scrambled eggs with peppers, tomatoes, onions, and tortilla chips. It came with Mexican beans and rice. Of course I had to get a scone- the special was blueberry and strawberry. My bf got the morning pancake special, which included eggs and meat side (he got chorizo) for $7.95 before 11am. Our server was really nice and brought some salsa, which was a smoky chipotle. I would have preferred a salsa verde but I got full before I decided to ask. Overall the food was good- I really liked the homestyle quality of the beans and rice. The eggs were a bit bland, but the salsa elevated it. The pancakes were decent too. I had a little higher expectation for the scone. I like my scone to be warm, crumbly with that yummy melt in your mouth buttery taste. This one was ok, just lacked flavor and was cold. Theirs is the best scones I've had and the only English scones I can find in the Bay Area! I learned this location is a full-fledged brunch place and not just the bakery, so there's a big menu. It helps to get familiar with the menu online first before stopping by. We had hair in our orange juice, the floor was a mess, and there was food all over my seat. 3 stars for my visit today, 5 stars for my visit on Thanksgiving, so an average of 4 stars. They were open on Thanksgiving which is so great! I was their first customer of the day and there was only one other customer during my meal. The food was hot and delicious, orange juice was freshly squeezed, and it was a perfect meal overall. Today, on my most recent visit, my omelette and toppings came out lukewarm, they gave me half the normal portion hash browns, the pancake didn't have its usual fluffiness, and the orange juice tasted very diluted. I was able to notice the differences very well having been there just two days prior. Surprisingly, I prefer their pancakes much more than their scones (quick note that the scone comes out cold, so maybe you can ask your waiter to heat it up). The pancakes are large, fluffy, and delicious. Also, make sure to ask for their hot sauce, it's delicious and goes well with the eggs! I'll still dine here in the future, but I hope the food quality stays consistent with each visit. read more

YAAAS. I love the name of this place! It's so clever heheh. Their scones are amazing. Moist and crisp and ahhh. I tried some of my friend's banana pecan scone, and it was pretty heavenly. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros, and oh my goodness this should go on the list of perfect hangover foods. As I wrapped my beans and rice and egg and tomato stuffs in my flour tortilla, I wished I was hungover, so I could enjoy the meal even more. LOL. Regardless of my physical state, I thoroughly enjoyed my food. The flour tortilla was soft and fluffy, and I just want to wrap myself in it. :3 The egg and salsa were delicious, and omg the cheese just topped it all off. I actually forgot that the dish had egg in it, so when I dug in and saw the yellow runny yolk wash over my plate, I was genuinely surprised and could not be more excited!! This place is almost always busy so be prepared to wait a little bit and for it to be a bit louder. They do have quite a quick turnover and the whole staff is so sweet! I asked them if they could make me chilaquiles even though it wasn't on the menu. I didn't want to be that jerk, but saw they had all of the ingredients to make it and just thought I'd ask. They were so kind and were very excited to make the dish and have done it before. They are quick to respond, provide excellent food, and are just the right amount of attentive. We saw this place had a tofu scram and also did breakfast burritos so we figured what the heck, why not ask them to turn the scram into a burrito we could eat in the car. Well, let me tell you this thing was BOMB and exactly what we were looking for. We let em know we were vegan so they cooked it the tofu/zucchini/mushrooms and hash browns in oil instead of butter and viola quick vegan breakfast burrito on the fly!
