Check in on yelp for a free waffle cone with ice cream! Scoops La Jolla is conveniently located in the middle of LJ shores. Street parking is nearby, but it's best if you're already at the beach or walking distance. Shakes, coffee, crepes, and delicious ice cream. I like their vegan oat churros & fudge, but as a dairy free milkshake. The line mighr be out the door but it's worth the wait and they have a lot of patio seating. read more

We stopped in for dessert after dinner in La Jolla and had a great experience. Our kids were pretty indecisive, and the staff was amazing offering samples, and eventually getting them their ice cream. The ice cream is great, we had several flavors and all were good. The interior is also very cool: my wife loved the hombre with some intentionally misplaced tiles, and the general aesthetic was very cool. Great place to stop. read more

Awesome variety of tried & true ice cream flavors & unique ones too! They also serve shakes, crepes, & coffee. Shoutout to the ladies who let us indecisive girls try many samples! If you're in La Jolla shores you have to stop by Scoops!! They have a Honey Comb flavored ice cream that tastes amazing in their freshly made waffle cone. They have a couple of vegan flavors and a vegan waffle cone which is pretty cool! They have a restroom inside and a large outdoor seating. There's a bunch of street parking around the neighborhoods nearby so you'll always find a spot even if it's crowded. It's so nice to sit out during sunset or night time when all the lights are turned on. They also serve bird rock coffee!! The only unfortunate part was the lady serving the ice cream just seemed annoyed when we asked to try a flavor for the first time. Which is was annoying, because they had a bunch of new flavors and there was no one else in line behind us. read more

Can you say YUM?! I have never had such delicious strawberry ice cream. And I know what you're thinking, "STRAWBERRY??! Out of all their amazing flavors you got strawberry?" The answer is, "No, I didn't, but my 6 year old did and it was FANTASTIC!" We also got the brown sugar cookie dough and if they don't have that flavor in heaven, I don't want in. It is delectable. An ice cream lovers paradise! This place was so good! I was visiting with a friend and we decided to grab ice cream. We didn't check out this place before so we had no idea what was on the menu and I was so impressed. They had a large assortment of a lot of ice cream flavors and a lot of different options. You could have your ice cream/dessert. You could get a classic ice cream, scoop or cone, a shake, and even an açai bowl. There were many toppings and fun ways to customize your dessert. Everything looked and smelled really good. I was so happy to see vegan ice cream options. And not just one, there were 3 with a seasonal special too! I got the oat chocolate chip cookie dough which was 10/10! One of the best vegan ice cream experiences I have had in a long time. I would definitely get again. The inside of the store is mainly just to place your order, pay, and get your ice cream. If your order takes long they have you wait outside or around and we'll call it over speaker to avoid build up of people waiting inside. They have a lot of outdoor seating as well, which is really nice especially since you're so close to the beach and can just watch the sunset if you happen to be there and evening. Otherwise there isn't seating inside and you were just take your ice cream to go. The service is also super nice and friendly. They give out samples if you needed to try a flavor too so you don't need to feel pressured to just pick one flavor that you might already know. Would highly recommend you stop by if you're in the area I'm looking for a fun summer ice cream spot in San Diego! read more

During one of my recent sunset beach visits, we happened to take a walk down the main drag near the beach. It's a street full of small shops and intimate restaurants. As an aside, I'd recommend this because it brings about some beach town nostalgia without all the gross aspects of the OB clientele or similar. While walking, we found this fun little ice cream shop while heading back to the beach and we knew it was instant heaven. Upon walking in, the shop is quaint and fun. "The Sweet Life" is the light up sign on the wall and it fits this business perfectly! They have classic, vegan, and sorbet options. This is in addition to other menu items we did not try, like Crepes, Coffee, Tea & a lot of other drink options. We got 2 waffle cones. They're always our favorites and this was no exception. You can taste any flavors that you want. We did a split scoop with Earl Grey Tea & Sweet & Salty Caramel Cookie. In one word it was "DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-LICIOUS" read more

I went with the smallest - enough to try and enough to tease me to come back again! FYI, if you c heck-in with yelp you get a free scoop. Their menu has regular flavors, special flavors, but some of the regular flavors may fall off to make room. I went with a regular flavor although it's not guaranteed it will always be offered. PLANET EARTH - Almond Ameratto ice cream, matcha, and blue spirulina (blue-green algae). Not only does it look like a lick-able cold Planet Earth, it definitely tastes "earthy". Scoops is a great place to stop on your way to the beach. While they have ice cream, they also have a variety of coffee options (Bird Rock Coffee Roasters) for those who want to caffeinate. They are walking distance (if you don't mind a mind a bit of trek) to the beach where you can enjoy your treat and the views! read more

Very happy to have a cool scoop of ice cream after eating rolled tacos next door. Any flavor that we ordered over each of 4 days was delicious and was not freezer burned or boring. The ladies working the store were working hard and knew their roles - making cones, making crepes, scooping ice cream, making espresso for my Affogatos! The did a good job of everything. The only thing that needed a little work in my opinion was the pandanus crepe - it needed more pandanus - and maybe some chunks of mango! (People taste mango with sticky rice, but the rice is flavored with pandanus) - this crepe was mostly just sweet and you had to search for the pandanus. Thats fine, next day i had a nutella crepe and all was GREAT with the world. I appreciate them giving the pandanus extract a try - maybe more? Just my suggestion. This cannot bring my opinion of this place down. Also, they have a clean restroom. a bonus! Clean! read more

Really solid ice cream spot in the la Jolla area! It's in this really cute small shopping/restaurant area and they have outdoor seating. Lots of different unique flavors to choose from. Ice cream was creamy and good consistency. They have health conscious vegan friendly flavors as well and the ability to make milkshakes. Line may look long but it moves fast! My friends introduced me to Scoops and I'm hooked. The line was long but was surprisingly processed quite quickly even though each customer was patiently attended to. There is a wide variety of ice cream flavors and there are crepes too! I got a scoop of earl grey and enjoyed it. There are tables in the front of the shop and when I was there the street was closed to cars so I felt safe sitting there. Great place to sit and enjoy a cold treat! read more

It's a blue almond and matcha swirl The flavor is not strong on matcha which I wish it was, but despite this, it's a unique flavor combo and very nice. It is on the sweeter side for me too but not that bad. The texture was smooth and creamy which I enjoyed. At the time of my visit, if you checked in on Yelp, you can get it in a waffle cone for no extra charge! I believe a scoop is shy of $6 -- service -- sweet and patient! We were tasting and deciding and trying to also load up our yelp pages, and they didn't show an ounce of impatience or frustration with us. We stopped in here after dining nearby. A crepe just sounded sooooo good. I asked the guy behind the counter for a recommendation and he suggested the blackberry, sage, goat cheese crepe drizzled with honey and a side of homemade whipped cream. Oh My Gosh!!! Everyone needs to go try this amazing crepe! It was the perfect combo of flavors. Not over the top sweet but an excellent compliment of flavors. Bottom Line: Good quality I've crean with tons of ice cream choices, regular and vegan, lots of options, and it's even fun to look at. A bit pricey for sizes but it's enough ice cream to enjoy. The Good: tons of choices, quick service, a fun part of La Jolla, close to the shore. My boyfriend and I stopped in tonight 10/1/22 around 8pm. There was a line but it moved quick. We got a single scoop cookies and cream and my boyfriend got a cookies and cream milk shake. Both together ran us about $15 not including a tip. I'd say they have to work on their allergen procedure a little bit though. Stopped by on a lovely summer evening for some ice cream and it was a delicious surprise. The shop itself is tiny but their flavors pack a punch and are so creamy. You can tell it's homemade and great quality. They even have a back door exit that you walk through an alley with a beautiful mural. Wow oh wow. We were in the mood for some ice cream and found this location via Yelp. It was also very convenient that it was close to the beach so we were able to go for a stroll along the beach after ice cream. They had lots of unique flavors and some options for crêpes, which is good if not everybody in your group likes ice cream. There was a very long wait. This place seems to be very popular and I can understand why because the chocolate ice cream that I got was super delicious. Everybody in our group loved what they got. read more

Ah, classic La Jolla. I've missed the experience of having dinner around here then getting ice cream and walking along the beach. It was a liiittle too cold the day I went, so my friends and I sat on their outdoor patio and chatted away. Got a scoop of peanut butter honey swirl, which was tasty. A sweet aromatic ice cream shop located on your walk to the shore with sweet workers. The store is small but once you get your ice cream, you can exit out the back to an alley where they have a painted background of kids enjoying ice cream for your photo ops. They had a variety of options to choose from ice cream and sherbets and coffee. They even had vegan options. I had the brown sugar cookie dough and it was heavenly! The brown sugar adds a nice sweet flavor profile that is a bit toasty, different than your typical cookie dough. They had nice chunks of cookie dough in the ice cream. It was $5.50 for a single scoop which didn't feel super big compared to some other ice cream places, but for the taste, I'd recommend you check it out. Pretty small ice cream shop but big on flavor! Asked the person helping me what was most popular and she said honeycomb and the brown sugar cookie dough. Both flavors were absolutely delicious but I ended up choosing honeycomb since it was lighter. Side note, I believe all their ice cream is from Van Leeuwen so nothing is made in house. There are many different shops in San Diego that make their own ice cream and I will have the say they do taste better but Scoops La Jolla is in a nice location and the flavors are great so no complaints. It satisfies my sweet tooth! Perfect dessert to walk around with at the beach since it's only a few blocks away. It's a nice treat to pair with a beautiful sunset! Also love the Yelp check in for the free waffle cone. That is definitely going to keep me coming back more. read more

BEST. ICE. CREAM. EVER. It's high quality - so rich and creamy. I ordered two scoops - the honeycomb and brown sugar. I think they messed up and gave me something other than brown sugar, but I wasn't mad about it because the flavor they gave was also very good. You have to try the honeycomb flavor, it is has crunchy pieces of honeycomb and it's just so so good. I could have this every single day, but I know my waistline wouldn't be happy about it. I can't wait to try all the other flavors. I also have been here a few times for crepes! I've only tried the berries and cream, and it is very delicious - especially the sweet cream cheese filling! However, it is kind of pricey for it just being a simple crepe. But, I'll still probably order it from time to time when I want to treat myself. The coffee here is my favorite in the area! I have tried coffee from all the restaurants / cafes in the area and think Scoops has the most delicious coffee. Overall, I give this place a 10/10! read more

What a cute spot by the beach! We were craving some coffee and a snack and this was the ideal shop tucked in a street of other eateries. I initially ordered the seasonal strawberry match latte and didn't care much for it. It felt very watered down and bland. Ended up giving that to a friend and got a latte with their cinnamon bun syrup instead and it was perfect! The drink felt like a warm hug and was the perfect combination of sweet and rich without being too overpowering. read more

Came in for an after dinner dessert. Was really interested in ice cream and coffee but saw that they had old fashioned milk shake. So I got a chocolate malt milkshake like the ones I had as a kid. Wife just had coffee. the shake was great. it was just like I remembered. The downside was that I said Yes to the whipped cream but they were out when the drink came out. But I was pretty sure I paid extra and was not asked if I wanted the $$ back. probably would have just said add it to the tip if they did. read more

Make sure to come early as parking can be a bit tricky, especially if you want to park closer to the farmers' market. Once you get parked though, everything is a breeze. They even have tables and chairs around for people to eat at. There's also a playground for families who have little ones! I could never go to a farmers' market and leave without fresh flowers, so of course I had to pick up some from Hidalgo Flowers. They always have the most colorful and stunning arrangements, and for a decent price too. This time, I got a bunch with the prettiest sunflowers. We also picked up the sweetest and reddest strawberries from this one vendor. I highly regret not getting their name, but I will definitely be on the hunt for them the minute we go back. We got a cup of strawberries with some dark chocolate sauce from Strawberries and Chocolate. That was sooo good! We devoured it so quickly, we didn't even get to take a picture of it. One of the standouts for me was the Pork Sisig Rice from Baryo Eats. It was AHHHHMAZING!! It's the best kind of pork sisig that I love to eat--the taste was so good and nostalgic, it took me back to my college days back in the Philippines! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We also got some Paella from Driana Catering/Taste of Spain. It was so flavorful and the rice was cooked to perfection. We were just sad they ran out of shrimp by the time we got some, so we were left with chicken only. Lastly, we had some of the watermelon and the cucumber lemonade refreshers, and the chicken and pork tamales from Gourmet Tamales. They were so good, we even took some home for later! Before, it was located at UCSD's Town Square, which I thought was pretty inaccessible for non-students. Now, it's located at the Epstein Family Amphitheatre, which is conveniently located next to the UCSD Central Campus Trolley Station and the Gilman Parking Structure. It's a really beautiful setup, with plenty of outdoor seating, whether you want to sit at the lawn, the various tables and chairs, or even the amphiteatre seating itself. There were a few vendors that have usually set up at the market, including House of Bao, Bubbas Hawaiian Snack Shack, Belinda's Familia, Seb Panini and a Sambusa place. I think it's a pretty good lineup, but I noticed the items are very expensive. Further, the selection outside of prepared foods was pretty lacking. There was a florist, but I think more fresh fruit and vegetable options (that accept EBT!) would have elevated the experience and helped with the food insecurity issues that plague college campuses. I ended up visiting Belinda's, where I was enticed by some free samples. I had a chorizo egg burrito, which I thought was really good and a deal for $10! Overall, I think the return of the farmer's market is a net positive for the community! I visited on re-opening day, so I think a couple more weeks will help iron out the selection and variety issues!

Coming down to UTC is not something I do often. Still, the chance to try something else off this menu is enticing enough to eventually try.

Every single thing was made with love and delicious - this cost ~$65. For the European girly in me, the nutellino was pure comfort, especially on a cold day.
