Unfortunately, I though my meal was simply lack luster. The food is really watered down and doesn't pack the punch as most traditional Thai food does. Maybe it's because I have had great Thai food and traveled all over Asia, but I just didn't think the food was good or something I'd go back to. This makes me sad.. We have been coming to this neighborhood restaurant for years & have been there so often that the waiters know us. The restaurant was sold and under new management in the last couple of years & there has been subtle cutbacks & changes & price increases but still we have always experienced good reliable food/service. Unfortunately, last night we ordered the Tom Ka Gai (chicken coconut milk lemongrass soup) & the Cashew Chicken. My husband & I both got VERY ill shortly after leaving. I called the restaurant & asked to speak to the manager to let them know about the incident & hopefully prevent anyone else getting sick. They took a message but no one ever called me back! I called AGAIN & was told that the manager was off that day...so I asked to speak to whomever was in charge. They actually told me that NO ONE was in charge! REALLY?!? Maybe that could be the problem! We were really hoping that this was a one-time accident but this is totally unexceptable. read more

My husband and I had a late lunch Sea Siam. The food was ok. The prices are reasonable, portion size are very good, and service was also very good. The restaurant is a bit run down and can use a bit of updating. My husband ordered the Pad Thai Beef and he thought it was pretty good. I am not making this up but to me it smell like my Yorkie's paws. Overall, I did enjoy the food and would probably return. read more

This is my favorite place for sushi. The ingridients are always very fresh, and the portions are always filling. Their Thai menu is great as well. They have an amazing Coconut milk w/chicken soup. Favorite sushi: Dragon Roll and Red Rose roll. Their white tuna sashimi is also amazing. Staff: they are generally very nice, especially the guy who greets you when you first come in. Some of the waitresses can be slow, i find the males to be more attentive and have better attitudes. read more

I must preface by saying...i've been coming here for years! This is the usual spot where my bestfriend and I grab lunch. Over the years, i have recommended this place profusely to friends and co-workers. It is the perfect place for lunch because of the low price point of their lunch menu, the food is fantastic and the service is good. Dinner is good too...It has quickly become everyone's favorite lunch spot. The red curry and chili fish are some of my favorite dishes here. Sucked! Gets one star because at least the beer was cold. Was in the mood for Thai food & it was a weird not-lunch-not-dinner hour (about 4pm) on a Saturday. Had been here before a few years back & it was just ok, but since it was the only Thai place around that was open we decided to give it another shot. I got the volcano chicken, which just may have been the worse volcano chicken I've ever had. I mean the "chicken" (if you really dare to call it that) was very thin slices, deeply fried pieces that made me wonder if it really was chicken or just fried chicken skin. Really looked more like chicken chicharones. The Mrs. had the pad Thai which although not as bad as my volcano, still was far from great (better pad Thai at Pei Wei) If you're in the area & are craving Thai, wait until 5pm & head a few blocks down to Tani Thai, which is REAL GOOD thai food. I haven't eaten here for years but I have visited twice recently. Both times I ordered the Gang Puck lunch special and genuinely enjoyed my meal. The miso soup was excellent as well as the veggie egg roll. Atmosphere, decor are pleasant and service was quick and friendly. I've been coming here since I was a little kid, & over the last decade the food has gradually started to fall off with prices slowly creeping up as well. (Although the sushi is still excellent quality!) We consistently get the pad Thai (9/10 times it comes out great), the massaman curry, the crispy duck (4/10 times it comes out good), & the special fried rice. Since COVID, they're taking precautions seriously, which I appreciate. But they're drastically understaffed, and the people they do have are running around, frazzled, like chickens with their heads cut off. The staff used to be so friendly & now it's full of rude, inattentive people. I've had the same woman for a server the last few times I've been there (I think her name is Anna?) & she is the absolute worst. Don't bother eating in - just opt for takeout. read more

I'm a huge fan of Sea Siam. Whether i'm in the mood for sushi or thai food, this place is the way to go. I love their pad thai or the pad woon sen (sp?) Excellent to order take out because it's right by my house. In my experience, the service has been a little slow when you dine in the restaurtant, but i think the food makes up for it. Looked like there's no one from outside but the restaurant had a lot of customers and was busy (Saturday around 8pm). Food the server recommended was very good, the food served at a table near us looked good, too. Our server was not the friendliest person (but maybe she is shy) but she was very polite, fast in bringing and changing plates. We really liked the restaurant and want to come back! read more

We've been coming here for a long time and we usually enjoy the food. But lately the food has become very ordinary and the service poor. When you first come in you are seated. Then you wait...and wait...and wait. No one acknowledges you, no water, nothing for about 15 minutes. Then you get menus. No water, no utensils. After another long delay they take your order. Still no water. Another 15 minutes goes by and they take our order. After that and another 10 minutes the water arrives. Still no utensils. The drinks took about 30 minutes to arrive. A tea and a beer. Not a complicated order. Still no utensils. The food arrives 10 minutes later. Not bad. Still no utensils. A few minutes later came the utensils. I understand the usual excuse but there is nothing complex about water and utensils within minutes if not seconds after being seated. It's expected not a luxury. The food was average. Disappointing for a first visit. Food was decent and server was nice enough, but I ordered a dish that was supposed to have mushrooms (which I love) and there were none so I let the server know and she came back to the table and proceeded to tell me what kind of mushrooms it has and I thanked her and repeated that there were none in my dish and that she might want to let the kitchen know. My husband and son got the seafood pad Thai, my husband's had no scallops but my son's did. The manager came with the to-go container for my mother's leftovers so my husband mentioned it to her and she too tried to say there are mushrooms in the pad woonsen and I let her know there was not a single one in my dish. My son ordered a pina colada from the cocktail menu which said $8 but they charged us $10 each plus $4.50 for the rum. $155 bill (excluding tip) for 4 people and not even a simple "I'm sorry, can I bring you some mushrooms?" or "I will make sure to let the kitchen know" or comp the one dish or one of the beverages for the inconvenience. read more

We have been coming to this restaurant for years and tonight we got there sat down and the original waiter was very nice however I ordered chicken coconut soup and a ground pork salad for dinner and some lady came to the table ( not our waiter) and actually tossed the entire ( pork salad ) and said here you go. I said to her I'm sorry I still have not gotten my soup and she said what should I do with this?? I said take it back because I ordered my soup first. She gave me a bad face and took it away. I then received my coconut chicken soup and they forgot to put any chicken and it was just a bowl of mushrooms, scallions and heavy cream with no coconut flavor. I had to ask for the manager. After several minutes she came over and said can I help you but she seamed very bothered and we have known her for years. I explained the soup issue and she gave a fake smile and said what else do you want. I said I will have a different soup but after thinking about also her reaction we changed our mind and actually walked out. The restaurant has changed and unfortunately we will not return. It is sad because we have been coming here for years and this was a very unwelcoming experience. We will have to now try other Thai and sushi restaurants in our area. read more

My last take out order took over an hour when I was told 20-25 mins so I had to sit for what felt like an eternity. They obviously messed up and knew it because they avoided me but when I'd ask to check they kept telling me it was coming right up which it wasn't and being lied to is even worse. The Pad woon sen(clear noodles) are the best I have had anywhere other than maybe in Thailand itself. This place is owned by the same people as the Siam Lotus room in South Miami, but I prefer this location. WORST SERVICE EVER. We waited an hour to sit down. No one came to the table for 15 minutes after sitting down. (Not busy on a Thursday night). Waitress did not greet us or offer us drinks only took our order. She forgot to place our sushi order at the sushi bar and brought us our sushi 10-15 minutes after we had finished our main course. This was after we told her we no longer wanted the sushi. We were a party of 6 which is the minimum for including the tip on the check. She clearly did not care what we thought of her or the place. Food was cold, mediocre at best. I will never return. This is after coming here often for the past year. read more

Sea Siam is simply delicious. I can't remember ever having to wait to get a table. The service is always excellent and friendly, and of course the food is phenominal. Sea Siam is a terrific place to experience Thai and Japanese cuisine in a beautiful environment. Sea Siam is fairly large, with several distinct dining areas: - the main room, with Thai art depicting mythological creatures and a lot of wood decoration, as well as the sushi bar - the Bar proper - and some neat booths behind the bar that have gauzy curtains and bead drapes. There's often a wait if you come for dinner, especially on a weekend, and they keep raising the number of people required for a reservation (7 the last time I checked). Service is always friendly, although at times slow. The menu is large, and divided into Thai and Japanese items. Food arrives with a touch of presentation - they're known for their artfully cut oranges, and orchid blossoms adorn some plates. The sushi is some of the best we've had anywhere. The salmon teriyaki is also a standout, with a generous portion of fish in a terrific sauce. In fact, their sauces for many things stand out as exceptional. For fun, order the chicken appetizer which comes with a small metal brazier aflame, on which you can sear your meat to your heart's content. If you like food spicy, they'll make it spicy - even up to making you cry. They're very accommodating about special requests. this is gonna be one of those update reviews eventually. i need to revisit the sushi menu as my last experience was over 3 years ago. after coming across some gift certificates last night to tango's and arriving only to find it CLOSED FOREVERMORE, i shrugged to boyfriend, "wanna try sea siam? it's pretty good from what i remember." i had originally decided on sushi but after being seated for a few minutes (and waiting way too long for a server), the smell of panang curry did sorcery on my brain bits. i convinced boyfriend to order it and got their tofu pad thai for myself. i'd like to go ahead and take this opportunity to commend sea siam for including tofu as a protein option instead of responding with a flummoxed look when i ask for it. really, every other thai/sushi place? you are completely incredulous when i ask for something that's THE FOUNDATION OF YOUR FUCKING DIET? moving on, the panang curry proved to be all talk and no action. the flavors didn't really come through. pretty disappointing. the pad thai, however...wow. that shit can go head to head with moon any day. the peanut sauce was rich and aromatic and the whole thing really exploded after a few squirts of lime juice. the tofu planks were fried to a crispy finish and were the ideal size for absorbing all the dish's flavor. with cubes of tofu, you end up with a delicious outside but a bland, flavorless middle, so props to the physics department. i'm truly looking forward to cracking open that doggie bag for lunch today. the thai donuts were a little confusing, as the condensed milk dipping sauce had sesame seeds in it, which made for a very unusual flavor combination. not bad just, i would've liked crushed peanuts, that's all. as far as the service goes, can someone explain to me why there was a carousel of 4 servers to ONE table for two? there was the lady that took our drink orders, then another lady that brought the drinks, then the guy that brought our food, then the guy that brought me limes, then the check, then our doggie bags, then the same guy that brought our food, then the same lady that brought the drinks...it was extremely weird and confusing. with a horde of wait staff descending upon on our table, not once did they offer to refill our drinks. i suppose i DIDN'T need another kirin light but they could've - no, SHOULD'VE asked. read more
