Came here last Sunday at 1pm and it was empty! Which I loved, we got seated immediately and our food came out quickly. The gentleman who sat us, gave us over the top customer service. I can't remember his name but he has a man bun, it was probably the best customer service I've received in LA. The food was delicious as well. This location is located across the Americana. It has more options than the Seabutter Raw Bar at the Americana. Good place to dine in if you're not on time constraint. I came here during lunch on a weekday. Spacious place. It wasn't busy so we were seated right away. The food was great and servers were very attentive. This place is super cozy and has an awesome view of the chefs making all the delicious-to-order dishes. My friend and I went and both ordered the 6-hand roll menu option. It's six preselected pieces of fish; everything was fresh, soft, and absolutely mouthwatering. I couldn't have asked for better! The only thing I'll say is that the portions might be a bit small, but not tiny or anything. I'll also say, as far as affordability for this option, it can't be beat. I want to start by saying that my sister and I are originally from Hawaii. Although we don't live there anymore, I still live in a state that is known for fresh seafood. And my sister married a chef who is also Japanese. During my recent visit to CA, my sister and I chose sushi for our first meal. Seabutter was in close proximity to our hotel and only required a short walk (like short, short, kitty corner to our hotel). It was just after lunch on a Friday afternoon, so the restaurant was pretty empty. There were servers and wait staff who were trying to find ways to keep busy and prep for the dinner crowd. We were greeted and seated quickly. We probably had about seven staff members ask us if we needed anything, if we were ready, if we wanted anything other than water, if we had been there before, and if we had any questions. It was a little overkill with service at the moment, but again, they were all trying to find something to do. Anyhow, we ordered the shrimp & veggie tempura, a sunset roll, and a salmon avo, as recommended by the wait staff taking our order. Everything was excellent. The chef even gave everyone (only maybe four parties in the establishment) a small serving of ceviche to taste. After all of our food was served, the staff didn't bother us much, only checking in if we needed more water or tea. We stayed a while, chatting and savoring our hot tea while contemplating ordering more, but we didn't. On Sunday, before our scheduled event, we went back for sushi. The restaurant was fuller this time, but we didn't have to wait for a table or service. We ordered a soft shell crab, U.S.C, dragon, and kanpachi yuzu. We could have eaten more, but had some walking to do and a four hour sitting event to attend. Both times, everything that should have been crispy was. And everything that was should have been buttery was. Everything was pleasantly fresh and melted in our mouths. We would have had this for dinner that night, but it was closed by the time we walked back that way. If we're ever in the area, we know where to go! read more

Tried out this new sushi spot and it was so good! There's a ton of seating and a lot of employees working at a time, the service was super quick. They have a lot of truffle in their menu, so keep that in mind if you're not a huge fan of truffle. The yellowtail crispy rice was my favorite, would be better if they served it with avocado. The jalapeño tempura was SO good on the YTJ roll and the tuna citrus pressed sushi was very refreshing. The citrus in the YTJ and tuna citrus were a little too strong and overpowering for me, but still good and the fish was very good quality. read more

We recently had dinner at Seabutter and the experience was perfect from beginning to end. Parking was easy, they have metered parking out front and more paid parking around the block. We got a spot right out front. Everyone greeted us as we entered. The room was fairly empty at 6:30 on a Wednesday, but I imagine it fills in on the weekends. It had a very modern, clean vibe. Before we even ordered, the server offered us a complimentary ceviche, which was citrusy and delicious. We ordered the pressed toro, salmon medleys, scallop nigiri, the daily special golden eye snapper, and spicy salmon crispy rice and they were all amazing. The king salmon in the medley was our absolute favorite, with the spicy salmon crispy rice a close second. I had mentioned that it was my partner's birthday and the staff came out and sang to us. They also brought out a complimentary matcha ice cream. We aren't usually fans of matcha flavor, but this ice cream was so tasty! The flavor was delicate and the texture was dense and creamy. I also ordered the plum wine, which was super sweet and syrupy, with an incredibly thick viscosity. I loved it! But it's definitely for people who like very sweet wines. One thing that stood out was the excellent service. No empty plate sat on our table. As soon as we finished a plate someone quietly whisked it away without interrupting our conversation. Terrible experience at this place. Our server and the manager were very rude and not professional. We ordered one of their pressed rolls and the roll was completely falling apart making it impossible to eat. When we asked for the roll to be taken away, both server and manager suggested that we eat it with the spoon and basically just deal with it. I'm sorry, but when I'm at the Japanese restaurant ordering a roll, I'm not going to struggle and eat it with the spoon. Sorry. Not good. I have been following their IG for a while and was excited to try it when they opened near my house. It's conveniently located right across from Americana and parking can be easily found at the back lot. Upon arrival, I noticed a really simple, modern interior. The front door was really huge! andddddd that was it. The main problem with their food is that everything is so bland. I can see that they make their own version of soy sauce and use that as a base for all of their sauces but everything tastes so watered down. I asked if they have regular soy sauce but they didn't have it. It should at least be available upon request. Fish quality was pretty standard but wagyu was inedible. It was way too chewy. Pressed roll had a nice concept but it didn't do much to the taste. Sea bass was good though. It was really thick and juicy. However, again, due to their watered down house made soy sauce, it didn't taste like anything. Service wasn't that great. The menu was priced little bit above average and I was expecting much butter service. The busser actually checked up on us more than the servers. There was a guy that looked like he had no idea what he was doing and he made the dining experience much more "fun". read more

This place was clean, fresh and inviting. Modern ambiance with lots of positive energy from the staff. Our waitress (forgot her name but she had tattoos and was very attentive) greeted us immediately and after we sat down, she walked over with the menus. She made her recommendations and I must say, they were all AMAZING!!! My favorite dish was the Mr. Crab!!! We also loved the Pressed Toro, the Salmon Truffle and the Sunset.
