Usually I come to Seafood Cove during the day for dim sum and they are usually okay. On this occasion, I came for dinner and ordered from their dinner menu. Had noodles with bbq pork, house special shrimp, and fish maw and crab soup. Entrees we ordered ranged between $21-$23 Based on their menu, their house special lobster and crab seemed to be their signature dishes; however, we chose to go with their "house special shrimp" because we didn't really want to work through thick crustacean shells. The shrimps were meaty and battered well. Got good flavor from soy sauce, green onion, and jalapeno, but I was looking for a little more of a flavor bomb here. This feeling of "wanting a little bit more" extended to the other items we ordered as well. In our noodle dish, our fried noodles were very dry and the pork was very well-done. In the fish maw and crab soup, the flavors were nice; however, there was grainy texture in the soup. Because the crab in the soup was lump meat, I felt that it was probably small bits of shell? Overall, I think that I would still go here for dim sum, which I'd rate as "OK" (3 stars). For dinner, this is closer to two. Will likely re-rate when I come back for lunch for dim sum on a weekend. read more

This place reminded a bit of the dim sum palaces I used to go to growing up! Large round tables with fabric table clothes and the golden wall decorations. Spacious. One special thing here is that it is on the second floor and has big windows. Even though I was only one person, they let me choose where I wanted to sit. What was different about this place was that menu items include Vietnamese dishes. It is in the Vietnamese district. The service was also better than many dim sum places. I missed the carts going around but was happy not to have to smell the fuel smell often in places with carts. Dining alone in dim sum is no fun unless you are close enough to take home lots of leftovers. Otherwise, you cannot order many different dishes. I got the BBQ beef noodle and the black mushroom siu mai. Both had big pieces and so I filled up on just this. The black mushroom siu mai was delicious and the BBQ pork was good, however, I have had better. They give you a couple of sauces and I noticed instead of tradition hot yellow mustard there was a spicy red sauce - again the Vietnamese influence. The oolong was good and was just a dollar a pot. I remember the days when pots of tea were always free! However, one dollar is a good price. I liked the atmosphere. Parking is tight but I was lucky to get a great space. Every time I come here it feels like my birthday, the food is sooo good. I think its better than din thai fung, can't convince me otherwise. I got here when they first opened today and i didn't realize the full menu is not available. I ordered some of my favorites, cucumber salad, ciao long bao, and sui mai, all thats missing is their fried tofu, they serve tofu and other items after 11am. I drove 30 minutes to get here but it was so worth it. All the servers are very sweet and accommodating, they also have dinner service with lobster and other specialties. Trying to find parking in this parking lot during rush hour is atrocious it will take you 20+ mins to navigate. Luckily you can join the waitlist online and that helped a lot. I came with a party of 6 and waited about 40 mins and barely made it at 2 pm to the dimsum cut off which is 3 pm. We were giving a large spacious table and service was great. There was no more carts being pushed around at this time but I was still able to order from the server and almost everything I wanted was in stock just 2 dishes ran out. Everything I ordered was good and pretty fresh. My favorites were the Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce, siu mai, football, beef fun chow and baked pineapple bun. The best drink was the orange slush so refreshing. I don't recommend the egg tart or taro cake with eggs those didn't taste fresh that day. Overall food and service are great and parking and wait times aren't so great but having online check in on Yelp helps and is highly recommended (you need to be within 1 mile of the restaurant). read more

One of the most well-known dim sum spots in OC and the quality has not changed over the years as I've dined here with friends and family! Recently, the restaurant got a facelift and it's a lot more modern and clean now. They used to have carts serving you dim sum but that was years ago and now you order via a menu and write down what you want. They bring food out promptly and they have a huge amount of tables available so you can bring large groups here for meals or for that special occasion. Everything we ordered was good with the shu mai, har gow, and beef noodle rolls being the favorites. If you like chicken feet, they make it decent here. They have hot tea available if you desire it but they use bags instead of tea leaves. The vibe is overall quite casual and there's usually a fair amount of people here for lunch. Service is friendly and quick. You can order as much as your group wants. There is parking available out front but it can fill up quick later in the day. Overall, we had a good meal here for an early lunch and bringing in people who have never had dim sum here would be a great spot for that as the staff isn't too intimidating and are quite helpful! read more

My go to spot for Dim Sum. They are the OG in Little Saigon and has been opened long before I was even born. They are located on Bolsa and are on the second floor of the building. It's right across from Asian Garden Mall, so it's not hard to miss. Just recently, they remodel their interior so everything looks aesthetically nice and modern but still in tuned with the Chinese Culture. The service is always good there. The workers are fast, efficient, and friendly. Austin is super awesome and always taken care of us and my family. There was never a time where we had to wait for our food or drinks. My favorite dishes is the Cheung Fan, Xiu Mai, and the Chinese broccoli with hoisin sauce. Everything is a 5/5. I have nothing bad to say about the food because the flavors are consistent and delicious. Don't forget to order tea on side, so it can help burn the fat and oil. Rated highly based on nostalgia factor. I would always come here for dim sum with my family when I was younger. They also used to host wedding dinners as well, not sure if they do now. Came here with a huge group and they were able to seat us after a 20 minute wait. The ambience is grand and royal, with a staircase leading to the entrance below a chandelier. The inside is very spacious with a very traditional Chinese restaurant interior. From the dim sum carts, we ordered chicken feet, shu mai, har gow, and an assortment of other plates not in the picture. We also got Thai tea, which tasted good. Came across this dim sum restaurant while we were in the Anaheim area and decided to give it a try. The entrance is on the ground floor but the entire restaurant is on the second floor. It is quite big and has the classic banquet hall feel. We ordered har gow (shrimp dumplings), beef chow fun, Chinese leek dumplings, beef noodle rolls, fried shrimp balls, and Chinese sausage buns. Everything tasted good and authentic. The only disappointment was that the fried shrimp balls did not come with sugar cane sticks as shown on the picture (kinda Vietnamese style). It's nice that they offer beef chow fun in a smaller portion instead of a full order; and it actually came with a generous portion of tender beef. Crazy parking lot, not worth the time to circle around for 15 mins for a parking spot. The wait is about two hours. We had a party of eight, after we got buzzed for our table, we have to wait by the host for another 15 mins before getting seated. Once we got seated, the waitress came over to take our orders. It's super confusing, they have a couple of people pushing a cart for some dim sum items but you have to order the remaining items. So far this has not been a pleasant experience. 1 hr-1 hr 15 mins became a 2 hour wait. The food was pretty good but I will not be returning here for dim sum. This place used to be legendary. It still might be, but our last visit made it so we won't be returning. Known for their dim sum and seafood, we came here for Mother's Day. The wait is the wait, everyone knows that, but the food usually makes up for it. This time, the fish was dry and the other dishes were barely above average. With many new dim sum, dumpling houses, and seafood houses that have opened, it's unfortunate that Seafood Cove 2 has slid downhill like this. I will say, the lo mein is still decent and the Har Gow is still solid, but those are relatively easy and should be a standard at any spot that serves them. Came here for dim sum today and left happily full! The dishes were authentic, flavorful, and served fresh. Favorites were the deep fried Tau Huu Ky with shrimp, the black salted egg bun, with the egg yolk oozing out. Sweet and salty. The chicken feet, turnip cake, were amongst my favorites as well. And the egg tarts, perfectly flaky with a light sweetness. Service was efficient, it was right after opening hour. We did have to wait quite some time for our waters to come out.
