Yummy yummy yummy! Huge portions! The price is consistent with similar restaurants but wow! We had so much food it was crazy. The fried shrimp and oysters were fresh, lightly battered and perfectly fried. The oysters were absolutely enormous! A companion had the blackened grouper and I had major entree envy. It was delicious. It was surprisingly crowded for after 9pm but I guess that speaks to the popularity of the place. It was noisy but the food made up for it. read more

This place is like a place my grandparents would have taken me to eat when I was young. Huge portions,quality made and great service. We arrived at opening , met as we sat down by a great server who kept our glasses full and made sure we were happy. I got the platter because I wanted a little of everything. We get into town get settled in our wonderful Spot on Cresent Beach. Decide we are hungry and set out. I google seafood restaurants near me. This pops up! We head there and it is exactly what we were in the mood for. A laid back low key place not all hyped up and glossy. It is where the locals go and it is now where we go! This is a great find for great service, fresh tasty food and at affordable prices! Who knew!? We do now! It is not the neon flash in the pan all glamour all hip kind of place. Seafood Kitchen is our favorite place to eat seafood. Not only is the food fresh and delicious but the prices are reasonable too! My family and I ate here tonight and our Server, Melody N, made sure we had everything we could possibly want and our order came out hot and quick. This is my go to seafood restaurant when I have guest come to town. The staff is always great. I went there last night and decided to try something new. I got the triggerfish broiled, it was amazing. Seafood Kitchen is the best seafood place we have been able to find since moving to Jacksonville! You get a ton of food for the price and its top quality. The wait is definitely less than other seafood restaurants around as well. A side note, if you get lucky enough to land Melody as your waiter your experience will be greatly improved! Ordered a combination platter of snapper and shrimp. I was served some other fish. My husband ordered the seafood platter but subbed clam strips for the deviled crab. Clam strips were chewy and tasteless. His fish was the same as mine. When we asked what kind of fish we had been served, "grouper" was the first word out of her mouth. I'm not surprised; I've heard the claims that basa (swai) is a cousin to grouper. I suggested that maybe the cook accidentally grabbed the wrong fish, so she went to check. She returned to say that he did, and that he was cooking me a piece of snapper right then. The problem is that it's illegal to misrepresent your fish, and it's an insult to people who actually know one fish from another. There's no way grouper was on the seafood platter for $24, not with oysters, scallops, and shrimp, too. And the basket of clam strips was very generous. However, they were not worth finishing. It's just my preference, but I detest butterflied shrimp. It allows the restaurant to serve a smaller, less expensive shrimp but it appears larger because of the butterfly situation. I must admit that the cocktail and tartar sauces were good and we had a generous supply. We're just disappointed that we spent $50 but feel like the quality was more like something we would have gotten at Golden Corral. read more

We went here tonight for our staff Christmas Dinner. They don't take reservations and were packed when we arrived. I was impressed with how hard they all worked to get us in quickly and pleasantly. The remodel looks great! Our waitress, Shelby, was absolutely incredible. We were quite a large party and I was amazed at how efficient yet friendly she was. We ordered and received our food in an unbelievable amount of time, so quick. The food was delicious. I had Wahoo which is my favorite fish. This is the quintessential piece of local flavor that you absolutely want when visiting a beach town like Atlantic Beach. It's a little mom and pop place with limited seating, and waitresses who say things like "Did you get your sauces, baby?' in a nice southern drawl. What a great find! Where the locals eat is always a charmer. Don't come here looking for anything fancy, just good food, very good service and friendly people. We dragged in after 9 pm after driving from the NorthGA mountains. Always risky showing up when a place is close to closing time but they treated us they'd be open for hours. Fresh oysters, excellent price, large shrimp, the crab burger is a huge crab cake, great! Blackend mahi-mahi burger was excellent. Where else can you have all that and 4 beers for under $50 for dinner? Highly recommend it! read more

Came in yesterday for lunch and had the fresh catch wahoo tacos. Tacos were perfect and they are large tacos very filling plenty of tasty fish in the taco. I have been coming here for years. Used to call it my favorite but not anymore. The service was mediocre and my bf got a draft beer in a plastic cup not even the size of a solo cup which was embarrassing to say the least. The raw oysters were good. Came out quickly and good price. I remember a time when this was a place everyone could afford but when the sandwiches are even overpriced there are issues. So I ordered an appetizer of barbeque shrimp to not break the bank and my bf opted out all together. My shrimp came out timely but was absolutely drenched in barbeque sauce. I could not even taste the shrimp. I had to get paper towels to get some of the sauce off. Not my idea of good shrimp. When I got the bill, the tiny excuse for a draft beer was more than my bottle beer. My stomach was hurting from so much barbeque sauce. Just not a pleasant experience. I guess a lot of people around here like fried flavorless seafood based on the reviews, but I am sure I will never go there again. Yes, I may be a little biased from just having one bad experience, but that should be enough. My in-laws seem to love that place so they decided to take us there. I ordered the oyster stew or something with oysters in it and got (I kid you not!) clear flavorless warm water with one oyster looking thing in it. I thought maybe my tastebuds were off that day so I let my husband try it and he felt the same. I usually don't let the waiter take the food back and dismiss it from the bill, but this was horrible. Then, I ordered a platter with everything on it and the waitress sweared it was delicious. When I got it, at leats 30 minutes later, everything on there tasted the same. Like the cook just dumped a can of Old Bay seasoning on everything and called it a day. I understand they are trying to keep it simple, homemade, but the food was not at all delicious. I felt cramped and the waiters/waitresses seemed confused that there's more people coming in to eat. read more

We stopped by here one Saturday afternoon due to the good reviews. We walked in and by my watch, waited seven minutes before being greeted and told there was quite a wait. The wait was fine, but I didn't care for the lack of any sort of a greeting. Once seated, I enjoyed the open dining room and the paper place mats. This has seafood "joint" written all over it. Our service remained sketchy, but I blame that in part to having only two waitresses to cover the entire place. I'm not sure if they were missing some people, but the waitresses seemed frazzled. The food was plentiful to say the least, and overall very good. I had fish, and my wife had the shrimp. Both were tasty. The french fries were way too oily, and that just detracted so much from my fish. I have since talked to friends that say they love to call ahead, and pick up the order to take home. I did see numerous customers that did this during our visit, and that would make sense for some quick tasty fried seafood. My husband and I were very impressed! Generous portion sizes and delicious flavorful perfectly cooked seafood. The clam strips are amazingly sweet and tender. Not your average clamstrip for sure! They've got to be fresh shucked. We also had stuffed shrimp, fried oysters, and boom boom appetizer, which all were good. Coleslaw was creamy and sweet. I could not finish what was given to me. I also had the cheesy grits which were very tasty. The hush puppies are a true southern delight. WE just visited last week. Its a causal place, very friendly to us old folks. I got a laugh out of the Captain D sized container's of cole slaw, that was really my only knock on the place. Its a 1 room family type seafood dive, it would be right at home on Triple D. Food got there fast and was hot, service was top of the bunch, Never had to ask for anything, we got tea fast and they even asked if we wanted a to go cup. We both had the fried shrimp which is my standard go to dish, a tad pricey but its the beach. Is the place perfect no, but its near a 4 and so I give them the extra points. For those reading my reviews, no I do not like to give 5 star reviews. However today I am giving a couple and Seafood Kitchen deserves it. The fresh fish and the very fair prices had me shocked. The food and service was spot on. they have so many types of seafood it can make your head spin. The staff was very nice to my kids and very attentive to our needs without hovering or harassing. They even had the tact to wait till we were done eating to give us the check. This is a big deal for me as I am disgusted thinking of money while I eat and don't like to feel rushed (I eat fast enough lol). Oh on top of that they give a very sizable discount to our military. Very Classy!!! The dining area is like a small cafe (and they is nothing wrong with that). It was very clean and we didn't wait at all for a seat even though there were a decent amount of diners there, Our appetizers came out almost instantly. The tea was very good and was sweet without being syrupy and didn't taste watered down either. I got a delicious fluffy and moist whole flounder (2 cause I am such a pig lol), I got it with fries and coleslaw. The fries were not bad but the real star was the flounder. The coleslaw was on par with my moms coleslaw. It was crisp and fresh and so yummy I could come just for the slaw. I was almost floored when the check came cause to be honest I wasn't looking at prices and expected it to cost much more for the spread that was on the table. I looked over the receipt several times to make sure it was right and they hadn't forgotten to add something. No it wasn't dirt cheap but so reasonable I felt I got a hell of a deal. read more

Love places like this: casual, no frills, good seafood. Had crab stuffed shrimp that was very good. My husband had fried shrimp and calamari. The calamari was fried a bit too long but still good and he liked the fried shrimp. We also tried the fried banana peppers that were good. All in all this was a place we will come to often. This place is somewhere between a diner and a dive. Not being a big seafood fan, my choices were limited. I ordered "black angus steak", a baked potato & applesauce. The bad: -Service was slow. Painfully slow. -The server had no idea what cut the steak was. (My guess is flank). -Ordered medium, came well. -The potato was way undercooked. -I never did get the applesauce (I didn't really care). -My name isn't sweetie or hunny. A few times is fine but it was overkill and a pet peeve. The good: -Sweet tea is strong. -Hush puppies were surprisingly good -The place was crowded, I always take this as a good sign. The fish was practically swimming it's so fresh. We were truly surprised at the ginormous portions we had the Tuna and Flounder. The Conch fritters and the Crabmeat stew are delicious. Hush puppies were so good they would not be quiet! We enjoyed everything but the melted butter/oil for the baked potatoes and the key lime pie had very good flavor also but not a big fan of high topped meringue on it.
