Came here for the first time with a group of friends and was pleasantly surprised. The appetizers were okay but the seafood entrees were pretty good! I got the fish tacos and shrimp enchiladas which were quite tasty. I was surprised at how cheap the food was considering it's seafood. Definitely get the beerita if you decide to come! read more

This is a second location - the first being off Webb Chapel and Forest Lane. The patio is where you want to sit - regardless of the colder weather. It's tented and offers a nice view of the lake. Great hidden gem. Place runs like a finely oiled machine, staff is solid. Taco Tuesday is perfect, huge fish tacos.

Yum, yum, yum! Was not our original destination but we stumbled onto a gold mind. The shrimp cocktail was the BEST I have ever had. The Hispanic twist was the perfect blend to accompany the shrimp! I had the shrimp enchiladas and the sauce was so flavorful! The rice was simple and very good. I tasted my son's shrimp flautas and they were delicious. We all ordered a fish taco (Tuesday's $2.00 special) and we were not disappointed, very tasty. Next time I am in Dallas I will definitely pay another visit to the Seafood Shack. Came here on Tuesday for lunch and got lucky: $1.50 fish tacos were the special of the day!! Ordered 2, with a $1.95 side of cole slaw (split with a friend) and for less than $5, I had the best lunch! The tacos were stuffed full of fresh fish mixed with some sautéed onion and pepper. Nice meaty chunks of fish rather than skimpy fried bits that you sometimes get at other restaurants. Tasty. Cole slaw was a little light on flavor--wouldn't mind a little lime in it. Service was very attentive. Went back again 2 days later for the seafood soup. Another yummy meal. Flavorful broth, fresh veggies, shrimp, fish and a big hunk of buttered bread. Soup is $8.50 for a small, which is more than big enough for a meal. read more

This place is great, food is yummy. I like the ceviche, coctel de camaron, and the fried fish. Service is a little slow sometimes, and the waitstaff is lacking a little, but the food is where it's at. It's nice to sit at the Bar for happy hour and look out yonder at Bachman lake in the distance with a 5 dollar coronita (margarita/corona dunked in it). Please revisit your menu , especially los camarones al tequila , once you peel off the shrimp , the taste goes away , the rice could use a little less garlic , we order to go and guessing if we had dinner there the food would have been different , the bell pepper on the shrimp had black spots all over it , again if those are what you get on orders to go, it's ok , but you should use more fresh ingredients, we have to go back for the tequila since we could not taste it en los camarones . read more

I really think Yelp needs to allow a zero star rating. I can usually find at least ONE redeeming factor in any restaurant, but I'm at a loss for this place. I had the fried oysters and my friend had the shrimp and crab legs boiled pot. Mine was absolutely disgusting... Literally inedible. Given the choice, I would choose Flying Fish. The batter on the fried seafood was bland. I had the crab legs....bland and the drawn butter was soooo gross because it wasn't butter. The Michelada was tasty and would recommend that for your drink choice but dont get the crab legs. read more

Great place. Had the shrimp cocktail and a couple catfish filet, both delicious. Cocktail had a good amount of medium/large shrimp, perfect balance of spicyness and flavor. Filets were crispy on the outside and perfectly moist on the inside. They have a good variety of seafood dishes which I will be back to try. I like this place. The service was super slow my last visit, but i didn't let that effect the rating because it was really busy and I was given great service my first visit. The ceviche is fresh and tasty. The shrimp cocktail is delicious. My favorite appitizer is the fried octopus. There do a good seafood soup and fried stuffed shrimp is exceptional. I enjoy coming here and I would recommend it to anyone looking for fresh seafood. Oh yeah, fyi its really hectic on Friday and Saturday nights (not very intimate & very loud). Ceviche was awesome, but service was so awful, we left after waiting nearly an hour at the bar for our entrees. We sat at the bar because it was the only available seating. Two different bartenders, one a guy and one a woman, literally walked away from us while we were talking to them. When they told us there had been a mistake with our food order after about 40 minutes of waiting, (translation: they forgot to put it in) we STILL waited another 20 minutes and never did get our dinner because we walked out. The bartenders neither apologized nor seemed to care. We told the host and at least he said 'sorry' while we walked out. Disappointing because their food is excellent, but service is half of the experience if not more! read more

A group from our senior center went to this location for lunch, It was the worst experience of any place we have visited. Arriving prior to 11:30 on a week day, we were the only patrons at the time. Half of us had issues with either poor quality of food or not getting a addition to the original meal after asking 2 additional times. 30 to 40 mins after we were done eating, we had to ask for our bills while others who came in after us already had theirs. When we did get the bills, many were wrong. After providing my cash payment, minutes went by with no return from the waiter. All others were waiting on me. I finally had to go to the waiter to ask for my over $11.00 change. We will never be back to this location either as a group or individual. Went there Sunday at 5pm, not busy at all, service is again lousy. I told the waitress to make sure food comes out hot and not warm as with my prior visit. My party of 5 sat outside and when food finally arrived only 4 of us got our food. Waitress comes back and said " I don't know what happened"...after 4 minutes I asked the manager to check on my food but seemed unconcerned. She comes back and asked "are you upset"? My wife, kids and I have been eating at Seafood Shack for the last 4-5 years. We started off at the original location and then migrated to the new location on NW Hwy. At least twice a month, always on Fridays, we could be found at Happy Hour, with a Margarita in hand and our favorite dish. Our opinion of Seafood Shack has changed with our last couple of visits. Not only has the quality of the food gotten worse and the prices raised higher, but the service has absolutely gone down the toilet. Our last visit two Fridays ago was the final straw. As we rushed to get there before happy hour cutoff at 7:00, we discovered there is no longer happy hour on Fridays. We, as well as people at several tables around us, were upset that the hours & days had been changed. Friday is the one day of the week when we, as customers, look forward to releasing a little stress from our long work week. And now that is no longer an option. Bad decision! STRIKE ONE! Not only is Happy Hour no longer available on Friday's, but the service we were given was inexcusable. My wife was brought a Margarita that was filled to about and inch or two from the top of the glass AND it was way too watery. When we asked our waitress about it, she asked the manager. The mgrs. response was the glass is to be filled to within two fingers of the top of the glass. All she had to do was fill the glass to the rim, like every other restaurant in Dallas and we would have been happy & end of story. She only agreed to give us another glass. But only to the same height and just a little less watery. STRIKE TWO! Lastly, when we presented our church bulletin that states "2$ off with mention of the bulletin", the mgr said she could only take one dollar off because she did not have a way to subtract $2 off the bill on their computer. STRIKE THREE! I left a message on their FB page and got no response. Guess they don't care about their loyal customers. We are very disappointed in the service we have received recently from Seafood Shack and will taking our Friday night business elsewhere. read more
