Well I forgot how I found this place but I'm happy I did because the Banh Mi sandwich was sooo good. I always wanted to go to Edgewater so I finally had my reason to go. The location of the restaurant is in perfect location sitting on the Hudson River. read more

Great restaurant. We went here for dinner and started with the beef avocado summer roll with vermicelli noodles and it was delicious. We ordered bahn mi fries, Heritage Pork sandwich and chicken vermicelli bowl. The sandwich was smaller than in the pictures; however, very tasty. The fries were good. Would have liked more toppings. It was waffle fries with seasoning and some chipotle mayo on the side. The vermicelli bowl was good as well. The restaurant has a nice ambiance with views of the Hudson. Great for groups or couples. I think this is my fourth review I've ever left. Ordered from Uber eats... my "raw beef" that was meant for the soup was all over the other food by time it got to me. I'll pass on raw beef in a ziplock bag thanks... the eggs rolls were soggy and awful. My fiancé's is vegan and got the massamam curry with tofu. She loves Thai food (her idea) and she had three bites and threw it out. My noodles were all stuck together when I attempted to put the broth in. The broth was awful. Here's the best part. On the Uber eats app it says that the vegetable spring rolls are vegan. Well once my vegan fiancé swallowed that first bite of shrimp, she was immediately in the bathroom throwing up. Thanks for ruining our perfect Friday date night during the holidays. read more

One of the best places for Thai food IMO! I had heard about this place from my friend but didn't think much of it. As I was visiting trader's Joe and saw SEAK, I thought let me try this place out and I am sure now I am going to be back there more often! :) We started with Tom Yum soup and it was delicious! Spicy but the right amount that doesn't leave your mouth on fire! For appetizers,we got the spring rolls; though fresh, the veggies were mushy and Banh Xeo (vegetarian version) - the texture of the pancake with the filing was very soft. For the mains, I got the Singapore Curry noodles with yellow sauce which was so so divine!! My husband got the Vegetarian Chay Bahn Mi which was equally good. The texture of tofu on both main courses was really good! We will be back again soon. Definitely recommend. Note: Any tofu additions are fried unless we specifically ask for "steamed". The restaurant was kind enough to swap my tofu for a steamed one as I put this request late and not at the beginning. read more

Don't come here if u want authentic food. Nice venue though. The pho had a weird flavor to it... Something that didn't belong there. Noodles were undercooked, bbh was completly wrong lol. It was better than the pho though. read more

Just left the restaurant. The server there gives us a dish that wasn't the same. The banh mi fries used to be spicy. He brings regular waffle fries out. Portion is also super miserly and he starts telling us these are the fries they always served and that he's worked there for 4 years since the restaurant opened. There was something very unstable about this guy. We got up and left before eating. Crappy good and crappy service. Never again. read more

I come here just about every single weekend with my girlfriend, after reading people leave bad reviews I'm surprised, I order chili lemongrass with tofu and the vegan pho and they're both 10/10, along with the vibe of the restaurant 10/10, inside and out, service is also pretty good, only downside is I have to get up and ask for water refills, but over all 10/10. Over takeaway is that the best meal is chili lemongrass with extra tofu and sauce, and put limes on it then mix with the rice, you won't be disappointed. read more

Disappointing. Hostess is a complete "airhead" who kept asking "are you staying". The whole place was empty except the people outside and so, we asked to be seated by the window. AGAIN, the whole place was EMPTY inside and this girl kept asking if we are staying? And then she finally said, "oh that's deserve. I'm going to ask the manager." My young kids and husband were with me and it was after lunch time and we were quite hungry . She comes back and says, "no, we can't seat you by the window." Horrible service. On Saturday, April 27, I was visiting SEAK my wife and two close friends. We had been to SEAK many times before and enjoyed the food immensely. What happened on this visit ensured that we will be customers here for life! I experienced a sudden and serious health crisis while at the restaurant that left me unconscious. While my wife and friends were clearly shocked and just trying to figure out what was going on, the wonderful staff at SEAK went straight into action. They called an ambulance, brought cold compresses, cleared other patrons away to maintain a safe amount of space around me, and were able to keep my wife and friends calm while waiting for help to arrive. I'm very grateful to the SEAK staff and management for their quick thinking, compassion, and thorough assistance- I'm on the mend now and can't wait to come back to thank them in person. Thank you! In all honesty, I was extremely disappointed with my experience at Seak. After driving back home and checking my bag's contents from my friend's birthday takeout order, I found that the order was incorrect and three entrees were replaced with something entirely different. Had to drive all the way back to the restaurant after calling to ask for the right contents. It was shocking that the staff explained they could not remake my order unless I brought back the entrees that were given to me. Not sure what they were planning on doing with that food, but it seemed really unsanitary given the COVID situation. Although I hadn't touched the food, there is no way to truly verify that on their end, so how would they know if the food was contaminated or not? Why bother risking contaminating their workspace/other food? Nonetheless, I gave it back and watched staff take their time sorting through the bag to take back the entrees. At this point, I was definitely late for my friend's event and it was frustrating watching two staff bicker about what to remove from the bag and how to do it. The food was okay, I've had better and worse Thai at other places. Ultimately, it was just disappointing and unprofessional that no one offered an apology for the situation. Staff seem inexperienced and trained at the bare minimum, and it is truly regrettable. I will not be recommending Seak to friends and family. read more

Viet thai fusion, acceptable but not particularly great. If you're looking for something authentic, look elsewhere. The pho lacked flavor and any aromatics, just bland and pricey. The classic banh mi is my favorite thing here. Again not authentic but well put together, great textures and is just plain tasty. The space is open and airy, great ambiance and service was outstanding. There's also outdoor seating along the river. The parking is shared with all the shops in the plaza but I've never had an issue finding parking here. read more

Hey Karen, are you still there? Well I love(Ed) your place so much, but recently eh, not so much... I ordered one of my faves - grilled shrimp summer roll, and GODDAMIT... biggest disappointment ever!!! The shrimp was dry and hard, more than overcooked; more like leftovers from last week and forgotten in the fridge and snuck it in like it don't matter. WTH! And to make matters worst, I ordered the shrimp pad thai... and although the shrimp wasn't as bad as the one in the summer roll, it was also over cooked. I know we're still in a pandemic but please don't fall so hard on quality. I can't justify splurging on a take-out meal if it sucks so bad. Make it better and I swear I'll be back! read more

Really disappointing experience. We came here for the extensive vegan options. The papaya salad was tasty but the cook missed adding the crushed peanuts and so we had to ask for that on the side. The spring rolls were crunchy on the outside which was good but pretty flavorless on the inside. One of our party ordered the drunken noodles with tofu. It arrived at the table without the tofu. We had to ask for that. The dish was flavorless; we had to add a spicy sauce to give it flavor. The other two dishes were also disappointing-- no flavor, bland. The servers were nice and the service speedy. However, we cannot recommend this place. read more

We visited SEAK for our first time last night and really thought we'd like it far more than we did. Vibrant spirit, young crowd and very eager, friendly service. Started with pork bi mah, which was delicious...but meal sort of went downhill from there. Pad Thai was very, very bland with shrimp that was only fair and not seasoned. Spring rolls had no real flavor either. The soup also was only fair with strange texture. As nice as the service was, we ordered our main course dishes soon after we had ordered our appetizers. Literally a few minutes after our apps arrived, our main dishes arrived too. We are fully aware how most Asian restaurants seem to not have any sense of timing when it comes to pacing a meal but this was ridiculous! All that said, good chance we'd give SEAK another shot if in that area but hard to see it as a destination given all the excellent Thai or Vietnamese places in our area. read more

I have a thai restaurant that I am obsessed with in my old town. However, this place is comparable. I got the chicken pad thai and I asked for some spicy sauce on the side to give it more flavor. At the other restaurant, I could pick like spicy 1-5 in the meal. The bahn mi fries are amazing. It is waffle fries with sauce and toppings. My cousin is not a fan of this place but I like it when I'm craving Thai. read more

We went to Seak last night for dinner and were so disappointed with the service. We have been going there since they first opened and always had great service and delicious food. Last night it took our server a good 10-15 minutes before she even came to our table. When she did, she asked if we were ready to order without even giving us glasses (byob) or offering water. She seemed annoyed when we asked for wine glasses When she came back again rushed us to give her the order. We ordered an appetizer and 2 entree's We were even done with the appetizer our food came out and was just placed at the end of our table. Even when we were done, the empty plates weren't cleared off. The food was good but what a shame about the service. read more

Came in celebrating our 9 year anniversary. Have heard great things from several friends regarding this place- Great customer service from the second we were greeted at the door. Our waitress was attentive and kind and gave great suggestions. Per our waitress...(( I should have taken her advice )) when ordering our soups to have cilantro on the side. Stopped in here after dinner a few nights ago because I googled bubble tea and they came up. The inside of this place will surprise you! It's very modern and industrial, with an awesome vibe. People are chatting and it seems like they are all enjoying themselves. I'd like to come back one day when I'm back in town, so I can update my review once I try the menu. My bubble tea experience was interesting. You order at the bar, and I was greeted by 2 very friendly and sweet bartenders. However, I was slightly disappointed that they use a powder tea mix to make their tea. It made it seem AND taste artificial unfortunately. I was super bummed about it! Also, thank goodness I asked about their addition of sweetener. I originally asked for 1/2 of the sweetness for 1 drink and just a teaspoon of sweetener for mine... both were extremely sweet. The girls quickly adjusted our drinks by adding more unsweetened tea, which helped a little bit, but not fully. We left and drank our bubble tea on the way home. We still finished our drinks, but it would have been 10000% better with fresh brewed teas. Eager to come back and enjoy the dining room and menu. read more
