My fiancé and I decided to try this place out for the first time yesterday around 1pm since we were around the area. When you first walk in one can admire the beautiful decor with nice dim lighting. The perfect ambience with the NYC skyline in the background. A hostess immediately asked how many and I told her table for two. We immediately were seated on table 8 and greeted by our waiter Ryan. I ordered the Kao Pad fried rice with shrimp, 3 selzter bottle, and my fiance ordered the Thai Basil fried with shrimp. I wasn't to impress with my dish it was extremely spicy which I don't mind but it lacked flavor. My fiancé asked our waiter Ryan for some type of sauce to add to our dishes. Ryan was extremely patient and knowledgeable. He offered multiple sauce and eventually we both ordered the sweet chili sauce. While my fiancé and I were eating our meal we notice this lady (owner named Lynn) going around to each and every table except ours asking how their food was etc... My fiancé noticed she went around 4 times asking how's their experience and how's the food even to customers who were seated after us. Mind you this place was nearly empty only 7-8 tables were being occupied. Out of those 8 tables she manages to avoid our table. She asked the people who were seating behind us and the two guys seated to the left of us. I was feeling a little uncomfortable because my fiancé and I feel discriminated upon. After we finished eating our meal we ordered the Xango fried cheesecake. I must say the dessert was amazing and the best part of our meal. After we finished eating we got the bill for $54 dollars. I find that to be extremely overpriced Thai/ Vietnamese food. I don't mind paying top bucks for good quality food but that was not good quality food. After we paid we were walking out towards the exit and was greeted by a guy at the bar and the lady that I mentioned above who happens to be the owner of this place. The guy said have a good day guys and then owner proceeds to say have a great weekend once we already exited the door. I said thanks to the guy but refused to acknowledge her because I find her to be very hypocritical. She did not acknowledge us not once while we were seated but acknowledge everyone else in that restaurant. My fiancé stepped back inside and asked are you the manager and she said "actually no I'm the owner." Well let my tell you something Lynn your behavior is unacceptable and it's such a shame that you call yourself the owner since you don't know how to act like one. My review does not warrant a reply from you. So please do yourself a favor and don't write anything at all. The damage is done. My husband had high expectations and I had mediocre expectations (after reading Yelp reviews) for this place but it's been on my list for awhile. Our apps were the wings and the beef & avocado roll. The wings were good and the rolls were just ok. Our entrees were drunken noodles and the filet mignon bits. Very under seasoned. Lack of salt and Thai flavors. The portions were nice but the dishes needed life. The bok choy came in the biggest pieces too. We did get Thai chili sauce that we added to the dishes - much needed. My suggestions are the chili chicken wings, banh mi frites, and of course the Thai mussels with curry! The curry will leave you craving for more! We've been looking forward to trying Seak for awhile and got the chance today for a late lunch. I started with a bowl of Tom Yum Tofu. When set down in front of me an intoxicating aroma of spice filled the air the taste was just right. Rich beefy broth with the right level of spicy heat. The bowl was full of vegetables, firm mushrooms, cherry tomatoes which popped in your mouth, tiny baby eggplant and fried tofu. I really enjoyed it and it was perfect as a starter. My Ban Mi Saigon sandwich was what I have come to expect as a Ban Mi. The bread had a crisp crust and tender fluffy inside. Filled with the required meat and vegetables. I enjoyed my meal and the atmosphere. Staff was attentive and quick to respond to our needs. SEAK has so many good options for vegans on their extensive menu! The menu is clearly labeled as to what can be prepared vegan, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating to vegans. The vietnamese crepe was a great starter along with the avocado mango summer roll. All the ingredients were fresh and high quality. I ordered an avocado strawberry shake which was smooth, creamy, and refreshing. The Tom Yum soup is clear broth, slightly spicy, and has some thai eggplants in it which were perfect consistency. The Thai green curry could have used some more spice, flavor, or substance, as it was mostly string beans and tofu. Still, it tasted fresh and I ate the whole thing happily. The restaurant is in a beautiful location with stunning views of the Hudson River and Manhattan across the way. They have outdoor seating as well. The garlic shrimp summer rolls had a delicious slightly charred taste while also tasting fresh with the greens and noodles. Thai tea was also good, as expected. We came in and they didn't really greet us or ask about seating or whatever, just sort of looked at us until it was obvious we were waiting for something. They asked if we wanted to see the menu so we got the menu, and then we placed an order. But they didn't inform us we were ordering to go, so when we were sitting there and asked if we could eat here, they were like "Um, no. Normally, when you're ordering to go, you have to go." They offered us to stay since it wasn't busy, which I guess was nice, but it just sort of spoiled the mood that they didn't tell us that we were ordering to go when we didn't say anything about that. I will say, that certain employees are probably nicer than others? I left my bag and came back to get it, and someone made sure it was stored safely and greeted me nicely when I went back to get it, and then when two customers walked in at the same time he greeted them nicely as well immediately and without prompting, which we didn't get from different employees when we walked in the first time around. Almost like rotting garbage... sour. So I was turned off by that but I said 'let me try it anyway and see...' The taste just matched the stench and I became nauseous. It was chilly when I went but I saw there were chairs outside so in the summer, I'll definitely come visit for brunch to enjoy the sun or dinner for cool summer nights. Our waiter was nice, responsive and helping but it may be because when we went there weren't that many people. But ofc as soon as we ordered a flood of customers started to come in. We ordered chai, chicken wings (it's ok but too salty for my taste. I prefer korean chicken wings more), two pho tai and pad kee mao (drunken noodle). We were really looking forward to the drunken noodle bc we love flat noodles but the drunken noodle was too small and thin for us. It wasn't thick and chewy? So if u prefer that I'd go ahead and order but if you like it thick I would rather have u order the pho tai, which we ended up doing. The broth in the pho tai is really really good!! It was authentic and not powder msg base like other pho restaurants. The only suggestion is that for the cilantro, I would like to have it served whole, not chopped. Let's start with the AMAZING staff! LJ was soooo amazing and attentive even my slightly antisocial one year old loved her. We didn't even have to ask for water for our baby she just came in and already had the baby cup in her hand. She also noticed our baby wasn't eating and brought us some white rice for her. On first arrival, this restaurant has a nice decor to it. I love the lighting and nice ambience. Compliments to the person who made the music choice selection. Considering the fact they are playing a lot of (R&B), one would have to assume this restaurant is open to all people. (White, blacks, Chinese, filipinos, Hispanic and alike. This list goes on and on. Without paying mind I noticed that a woman kept making rounds to people sitting at every table. This happened once, twice, three times then finally a fourth. Every time she was at a table, she would ask how their visit is going and how is the food but manages to avoid our table at all cost. My fiancé, gave me a quick look but doesn't say a word. I looked at her and just asked a question and said what are you seeing. She then replied with the statement I've written above. I didn't get that feeling from anyone else besides her and that's why I'm not giving them a 1. I can't however not share my experience for others that will try this place after us. The place is cute and the staff was friendly enough but they were not attentive. If we wanted the check, more water, we had to chase someone down. If they were busy I'd understand but it was Sunday lunch and I'd say it was about 20% to capacity. We ordered Thai chili wings and chicken pad thai. The wings were only spicy of you put the sauce on it and the sauce looked suspiciously like the Trader Joe's brand sauce that happens to be located in the same plaza. The pad thai was slimy and there were no peanuts served with it. When I asked they brought them.....after chasing someone down. The food came out fast so I will definitely give them that. Love this place! Everything we ordered was good here. Located in a shopping center in Edgewater, NJ, this place touts a beautiful water view with the NYC skyline. There are tables outdoors as well as a modern and trendy interior dining area. We ordered several bowls of the pho tai (lean beef with pho broth), a bowl of bo kho Vietnamese beef stew, the sesame beef banh mi sandwich, Tom yum soup, Thai iced tea and a mango smoothie. All of our entrees were delicious. The price is higher than traditional Vietnamese establishments but the portion sizes make up for it. They are pretty generous with the meat and noodles. The broth for the pho was flavorful and tasty. The banh mi sandwich was filled with deliciously marinated beef and the bread was nice and crusty. The Thai iced tea was not too sweet, unlike most other places. The mango smoothie is a little too thick for our taste but you can tell it is made from fresh mangos, not frozen. Came here with the fam for the first time today. The restaurant itself has a very fun aesthetic like a coffee shop while also feeling classy. An added bonus is that if you look out the window, you can see the whole New York skyline! The menu was a mix of Vietnamese and Thai dishes. The drinks caught my eye and I can't help myself if I see a bubble tea. So...I tried the Black Sesame bubble tea. It was so good!! It wasn't too sweet and had a unique flavor due to the addition of the sesame. Highly recommend. The drinks were a bit pricy though so keep that in mind. For my main course, I went with the the Grilled Sesame Beef bahn mi. It was a decently, sized sandwich and the flavors were delicious. I will say that I could have gone without the peppers as it made it a bit too spicy for my liking. For $10, I was satisfied. We usually eat Asian food for Friday dinner. SEAK is one of our favorite go to restaurants. We're never disappointed.

What more can i say about this restaurant. They have become part of my weekly outing and all my friends have joined in as well. The food is amazing and honestly hard to recommend anything because everything is great. Do not skip on the dessert! I had the mango & avocado summer rolls and tom yum soup. While I don't remember tasting any mango in the rolls, it did come with a mango sauce. My friends each tried one, and they loved it so much that we ordered another! Our table also had the Bahn Mi Frites, Papaya or Mango Salad, Sate Beef Egg Noodle Soup (on my list for next time!!!) and I think the Kao Pad w/chicken. Everything was fresh and delicious. My friends eat gluten-free, and there were plenty of options for them to choose from; the staff was very accommodating when making adjustments for them. One of my friends accidentally spilled her glass of water onto the table, and Jennifer appeared in seconds with a rag to help us clean it up. She's incredible! The Banh Mi Frites are really tasty! Waffle fries that are super crispy and have really yummy toppings. However, I got the Pad Kee Mao as my main course and because it didn't specify that it was spicy on the menu, I asked the waitress if she could make it spicy for me. She said yes but I guess the chefs missed the note because it came out with no spices. That would have been fine except that it was the most bland meal I've ever had in my life. Let's say you're sick and you lose taste in your mouth - that's what this pad kee mao tasted like. It tasted like plain tofu! I had to ask for a side of hot sauce so that I could make it into some semblance of a meal. I won't be going back here for anything except the banh mi frites! read more

We've been coming to Seak quite a few times throughout the last 1.5 years or so. In the beginning, we really enjoyed it - I generally love Thai food, and being outside in the summer is great. We went there pretty regularly last year. The last few visits were very much hit and miss though. It started in the spring, when we ordered food and made clear we were vegan. The waitress said she would make sure that the kitchen isn't using any fish sauce. My wife gets her food, starts eating, I get mine and I notice that I definitely got chicken, not tofu. The waitress takes it back, so I could get my actual order. A minute or so later, she comes running over - my wife's food was made with fish sauce. What if she were allergic? The nice owner is very apologetic, and we don't have to pay. Still, we don't go back for month out of fear that this may happen again. When we return, everything is great. Today, another meh day. The waiters tries to argue with us if vegetarians eat fish, which doesn't give us confidence (we are emphasizing several times that we don't want fish sauce). My wife gets her spring rolls, my rolls come 5 minutes later. Then we think we are getting our mains, but they actually confused our order. Mine comes quickly afterwards, but is lukewarm. My wife's food needs to be redone, and I am finished by the time she starts eating. A few bites in, she decides to take her food home. We definitely won't come back on a busy Friday night. So This place opened up and my Husband and I were amazed at the menu so we went, its a BYOB place as well as about most places in Edgewater, NJ Area. The menu is full of Great choices. & the prices are nicely priced for a Sit Down restaurant. This time I ordered the Wild Salmon and my Husband ordered the Drunken Noodles as well as a side Fresh Mango & Avocado Summer Rolls. The food was all delicious as we like to sample each others plates. The service was most excellent, and the bill at the end was finely priced.
