I was very disappointed with my experience at seasons 52. First, the waitress forgot to bring me my Prosecco after waiting 15 minutes. I finally flagged her down and she admitted to forgetting. Next, when the food finally came out, and it must've taken 30 minutes to arrive, it was lukewarm. I had ordered the scallops, asparagus and mashed potatoes. Still, I could not find the waitress, so I finally flagged down one of the hostesses. I asked her if it would take long to reheat the dish and without apologizing, she said no it won't take long. I waited another 10 minutes for the dish to be returned to me and it was not. I had to flag down the same hostess again and ask her where the dish was. By this time, my companion had finished 3/4 of her meal. She brought back the meal and it was only slightly warmer than when it was originally served. The waitress came back to ask how everything was after probably 50 minutes had passed. Far too late to check in with customers eating a meal. She was fairly quick to bring dessert. The real kicker was when she brought us our check and we put the credit card down to pay. She came back within two minutes to collect the money. I will think twice before I go back to this restaurant. The service was horrible. The food was lukewarm, and, there was no apology whatsoever from any of the staff people. read more

We could not finish the dishes and ended up going to another establishment. The butterfish had its description as it was served with ponzu sauce and shiitake mushrooms. There was NOTHING ponzu about the sauce. Instead, it was salty, overly reduced some kind of soy sauce, maybe with butter(?), or sauteed vegetable underneath the fish was sauteed in Lots of Butter. I was expecting aromatic juicy shiitake mushrooms. Instead, what I got was crunchy strips of what was once shiitake mushroom. Had my birthday lunch here today. Can't rave about it enough! I'm pretty picky when eating out. Started with the roasted tomato flatbread. Tomatoes roasted beautifully, nice and sweet. Had the Chilean sea bass - unbelievable! Asked for an iced coffee, usually watered down, our waitress , Joia added espresso, it was perfect! My sister had a crab cake, perfectly prepared, no filler, mostly crab. Fish tacos (no fried fish here!) that also came with salad. Said it was delicious. Dessert was a mini chocolate mousse and a mini pecan pie. Can't wait to go back. read more

My father in law highly recommended this place. He had been coming here every month for the last year or so and the place did not disappoint. We started with the Chipotle BBQ Shrimp that was delicious, very thin crust, crispy, al dente shrimp and a great combination of sauce and BBQ, that made this small plate delightful to the palate. We continued on the tapas route, as we were getting ready to see a basketball game between Boston College vs. Syracuse and ordered the roasted mushroom flatbread, again, another optimal order and what I continued to love where the vegetables, like the mushrooms cooked al dente, so you could tell that the cook took the time to prepare your meal. By far our two favorites were the Ahi Tuna Tartare and the Lump Crabcakes. The tuna tartare was combined with avocado and arugula on top. The tartare did not break and the four of us were able to try this dish. Nice and soft with great natural spices and flavor. The lump crab cake was also made to order, fresh and you could taste more of the crab then the stuffing, which is the key to this dish. The mustard sauce was also a delight and I would recommend all four of these dishes, but I am sure that all the other ones are just as good. My father in law always orders the surf & turf and for us the price of the meal plus the drink was very reasonable. The restaurant has plenty of parking as it is located next to a strip mall and the pictures does show a nice decor, classic American style with TV sets for those that want to watch TV. I would even recommend this place for a romantic dinner, there are many tables, where you can cozy up and have a great meal. Definitely coming back again and try more of the main dinners, but the tapas/appetizers made the day for me. Cheers! read more

Quality is meh (for example, had the lamb loin last night -- looked properly cooked at medium rare and well seasoned but unchewable -- not tender at all). Overpriced for what it is and no beers on draft. OK-bottle selection , but if you're a beer drinker, you're paying a pretty big markup for a bottle that would be a fraction of the price from a store. And for an mid-market casual-ish chain, it's surprising that there are no sandwiches/burgers since it seems like the kind of place where you could get one. I've been here a few more times in the past year and each time was very good. Visited 7/31/21: I had a pomegranate margarita, and my mom had an espresso martini, both of which were delicious. My absolute favorite dish is the grilled sea scallops with risotto and asparagus. We also love the stuffed mushroom and crab cake appetizers. Visited 4/25/22: I, once again, had the grilled sea scallops with risotto and asparagus. Others in our large group had salmon (in multiple forms), pork chop, meatballs, hummus plate, and avocado toast. Because we were celebrating an achievement, they gave us a congratulatory card, which was very nice! Also, the staff were very careful with several dietary restrictions/allergies and graciously attentive. Visited 6/25/22: This time, I had the wood-grilled filet mignon in a mushroom wine sauce with asparagus and mashed Yukon potatoes, with a side of mac and cheese. This restaurant's vibes were immaculate. The food was excellent as well. It's advertised as a health restaurant...so everything in the menu is under 595 calories. We ordered the pesto chicken and fresh mozzarella flatbread for the table and it was one of the better flatbreads I've had before! Lovely crisp on the flatbread and fresh ingredients to round it out. I ordered the cedar plank roasted salmon and it was wonderful. The salmon was flavorful and so tender and I liked the potatoes as well. The green beans were a little on the squeaky rubbery side though. We ordered two desserts - pecan pie and chocolate. These came as quirky deconstructed pies/cakes in a glass cup...great presentation of the cross section (and only $3 each!) read more

Stopped by Seasons 52 for the first time for lunch ahead of heading into Boston for a Red Sox game. It was our first time in and arrived slightly after opening time. Inside we found it open and bright. The bar was immediately to our left and had only a few patrons, so we decided to sit there. We ordered a few cocktails from the gentleman bartender and looked at the menus. We hadn't read ahead of time anything about the restaurant, so we were unaware of their whole "everything under 595 calories" setup. While healthy, it was a solid menu with a lot of options to choose from. We ordered two flatbreads to share: The wood grilled corn, cheddar, and bacon, as well as the classic roasted tomato. The crust was unique, and is probably how they save most of the calories. It was almost like eating off of a grilled cracker. It wouldn't have sounded appetizing if that's how the description on the menu was, but it was quite delicious. We would have stayed longer and tried more of their food and drink options, but it was off to Boston so we'll have to save the rest for our next visit! read more

We had dinner with another couple. This was our first time in this establishment. Food was good, service was poor. Our waitress did not take time to walk around the table to serve, rather she repeatedly reached across while saying "pardon my reach." There was also some sort of trash in the water. The restaurant is extremely noisy. The waitress also didn't ask how we would like the check split up, she just assumed one check would be ok. We will never eat here again. The food was delicious. We had a party of 8. 3 of us had the Chilean Sea Bass which I hear was excellent. Myself & 2 others had the Lamb Loin, 1 had salmon and another had a Pork Chop. Once we were seated at a round table that accommodated 8 the service was great! The negative was that our reservation was made for 8 people. When we walked in they said the table for us was only set up for 4 and they asked us to wait a few mins to get it ready for 8. When they brought us to the table we had to squeeze in. The table was large enough for 6 on a good day :(. The hostess clearly saw that this was not good and we asked to be moved. A male manager came over and explained to us that "sometimes puzzle pieces don't fit and that families expand." HUH??!! This is after we made a reservation for 8 a week and 1/2 prior to going. He told us he didn't know when he could move us to a bigger table and we could wait if we wanted. The majority of our party didn't want to wait. Another manager came over, after ordering drinks and said 'we could wait for a larger table' but was not really clear, leaving us with the impression that we would have to return to the front and 'wait again' for our reservation. The proper thing to do would have been to simply state "why don't you have your drinks, remain at your current table and we will move you to a larger table when it becomes available." If they thought the wait would be extended, offering drinks or apps to take the edge off would have been a nice touch (not that we asked). Not having any choice, we chose to stay seated at a very cramped table rubbing elbows and waited on our drinks. As it turned out, as our drinks arrived, a different manager who was very nice came over and moved us to a large round table. We had a great time but the first manager should think before he speaks. What he said to us made no sense and he should be aware. Both managers should have considered how they offered options. They should also consider their options when honoring reservations and being aware of their table assignments. read more

Seasons 52 displays a wall hanging with the word "kindness" near the reception station. From the host to the server to the bus person, kindness as well as care, attentiveness and happiness are in full display. I have not been treated much nicer than this. From the start Seasons 52 was exceptional. We believed we had secured reservations for our party of 11 on a busy Sunday evening. This was a much anticipated dinner as 7 of us were from California beginning a Spring Break Visit with our cousins in Boston. Much to our surprise, we were not listed in their system. Almost despairing of what to do with such a large party we contemplated options elsewhere but very quickly the host with a gracious smile said "please wait and I will see what we can do." After a 10 minute or less wait, she returned and led us to a small private room with a large round table that easily accommodated all of us. Such service and flexibility on a busy night was amazing. I could imagine being turned out elsewhere. So what could have been a big disappointment turned into the perfect setting for renewing our family ties while enjoying excellent food. The health conscious menu was not just healthy but delicious. All of the varied starters and entrees we ordered were very well prepared and a delight to the senses. Fish dishes were cooked just right - not over cooked and dry. Shell fish was the same. Lamb, pork chop, pasta were very nicely done. Season 52 is a simple yet classic Chestnut Hill dinner spot. I came with my family and friends, and one of the aforementioned friends has severe food allergies (dairy, eggs, shellfish, tree nuts mainly) and Seasons 52 has consistently been able to accommodate. For reference, she gets the tomato mozzarella flatbread with no cheese, and pasta with tomato sauce. The ambience and noise-level is nothing of note, but the service has always been excellent. This past visit we were served by a waitress named Stephanie, she was lovely and very efficient! My table shared a (seasonal?) roasted corn flatbread which was wonderful and gone within seconds. I got the pork chop (medium) and it was perfectly cooked in my opinion. My family consistently gets the same food: shrimp and grits, ahi tuna tarte, and the chilean sea bass. All of it is pretty good. While the food here isn't the most amazing in the Boston metropolitan area, it's a pretty good choice for groups, especially in Chestnut Hill. read more

Really in the 3.75 - 4 range Seasons 52 is a chain corporate restaurant - so you know you are going to get tested recipes, minutely measured portions, and precisely at the limit of over priced - pricing Seasons 52 checked all those boxes, the food was solid, the portions were not quite small, and you didn't feel completely ripped off when paying the bill. We ate family style and shared everything - Lump Crab cake was delicious, avocado toast tasted good, but a bit more soggy bread than toast, Brussel sprouts were amazing and the best thing I ate, the crab polenta was a bit disappointing in that we're still looking for the crab, but We really enjoyed the truffled risotto and half chicken too. We went on a weeknight and the place was hopping. Good atmosphere (maybe a bit too loud in that we had to huddle close to hear one another), but a very good ambiance. service was professional and attentive. We make a habit of celebrating occasions here and last night was a big celebratory dinner. The food was mostly great, as usual and our waiter was terrific. Just one problem: I got food poisoning from the chicken (the only item I ate that no one else ate). Hit about 5 hours later-quite severe but feeling better now. I did note the chicken was a bit rubbery-I'm guessing left out for a while in an inadequate temp. I am still giving four stars because normally we have a great experience here. From my online booking experience (love being able to book a 11 person reservation online no problem!), to the great seating area (private corner so it felt so intimate even though the restaurant was packed), and last but not least, to the service! 1st time here. A+. Friday night easy reservation via Open Table. One the way home from the office. Nice outdoor space with plenty of room and plenty people. Salmon on a plank was fantastic. The Equinox had say 50 bikes under a tent for fitness classes in the parking lot. Ingenuity and make it work. Management should have some policy for FaceTime phone calls. Headphones required? We had an older couple who were on with their grandkids for say 30 minutes. Absurd. People go out on Friday night to get away from the office phones and in many cases children before bedtime. read more

Tried this place because the cheesecake factory lines were insane. This place also had a long wait for the tables but i decided to get a seat at the bar. Because it was during lunch time, we ordered off the lunch menu and got the wood grilled steak tacos, and half of pesto chicken flatbread and field greens salad. The flavors here are very good because everything we had was delicious. However, the portions are so small and we left the restaurant not fully satisfied. Glad it was lunch menu prices because if not, i wouldnt have thought that it was worth the price. Also I wish theyd serve bread to get the meal started! read more
