I was in town for a conference and stayed at an Airbnb near by. We were so eager to try Seaworthy as it got great reviews and looked so cute. What a disappointment!!! We went for happy hour on Thursday when we walked in (without a reservation at 4 pm) we were asked if we wanted to go upstairs (we had two bags) so we asked for elsewhere and were put in the "garden" an alley when the restaurant was pretty empty. DJ our server was delightful and the best part of the experience. She was informative and helpful. However, the oysters we ordered were tiny and flavorless. We had each variety and one was less impressive than the next. Not to mention they were 50% off and even during happy hour we still had close to $80 bill for 14 oysters and 2 glasses of wine. We left and went to Luke, at the Hilton Hotel we ordered a dozen of the local oysters and drinks and the bill was not even $50 and the oysters were delicious! read more

We stopped in for dinner without reservations on a Sunday and were able to get seated at the bar right away. We started off with a dozen oysters that were great! They had options of gulf, east, and west coast oysters. Additionally, we got some small plates to share including the Red Snapper Ceviche, Pork Belly, Brussels Sprouts, and Charbroiled Corn. The Snapper was fresh but not the ceviche with lime juice that I was expecting. The pork belly was a very generous serving! Outside of the Chinese grocery store, I have never seen such a large serving. It was salty and fatty and reminded me of childhood meals. The charbroiled corn was yummy and the togarashi toppings added umami. There was a large amount of kewpie mayo that was too much for my preference. The Brussels sprouts were roasted perfectly. I enjoy Seaworthy every time I go. I may or may not be stuck on the lobster roll and try to get it every chance I get. The bread is perfectly buttered and soft, the lobster meat is moist and well seasoned, and the fries that come with it are good too. The chile marita ketchup is quite interesting. I went once looking for my lobster roll and they didn't have it but had a crawfish roll, which was good BUT not as good as the lobster roll. I've also had the hot fish dip, crab claws, gumbo, and a ceviche. All were good. The charbroiled oysters were fine (not great in my humble opinion). Last time I went, I got the Holy Water cocktail and it was delicious and very cool looking. Quite an instagrammable drink lol. It comes with the lime lit on fire! The service has always been great as well as the atmosphere. I enjoy dining upstairs but I also like the patio. I was told about Seaworthy from a colleague who said "you love cocktails and oysters, it's a must" from there I was sold and was excited to find a reservation for my first night in New Orleans. From the entry point and the delightful host we found our way to a wonderful table for two that overlooked the street and I was already elated. Our server Adam should receive an Emmy for the best service in the land. Not only was he engaging, charming, knowledgeable, and kind--his takes of the menu and cocktail items allowed for the perfect evening. I knew that dining experiences in a city known for food wouldn't fall short but Seaworthy provided more. This place came up recommended for happy hour so we decided to stop by. Happy hour drink selection is not much cheaper than the regular menu, but all drinks are made well and worth the price. But what's really exciting about this place is their oyster selection. All oysters are exceptionally clean and well served, and their char broiled oysters are the best in town. Service can get better, they forgot about my drink even though the place wasn't that busy, and didn't bring any water the first time around. I am obsessed with this restaurant. We came here during a conference for an early happy hour dinner and it was amazing. I tried the Sherman's cup which was amazing and my coworkers tried the punch which they enjoyed. Their oysters are so good, and we ordered all of the happy hour oysters. We also ended up getting two orders of their fries because they were so good. We tried the charbroiled oysters which were better than Acme's in my opinion. The warm sourdough was great as well because the honey butter was absolutely amazing. We also ended up ordering two orders of the fried gulf shrimp because it was that good. We made a reservation for three and we were seated with the third person so far out in the aisle by the bar that every server or customer had to bump this guy or scoot him. Wanted to try a place I haven't been to for this visit to New Orleans and that is how I ended up at Seaworthy. Since we were there during Happy Hour, we ordered two of each oyster available for the 1/2 price happy hour and they were all tasty but my favorite was the Salty Coast. Ordered all three appetizers from Raw Bar listing on the menu and all were delicious. First time I ever had ceviche with sweet potatoes and I was pleasantly surprised how good the flavors blended. Ordered the Vino Verde Branco which was a perfect wine to accompany good seafood. I was very disappointed that the Fried Squash Blossom was not available as listed on the menu (removed since my visit). Our server, Sage, explained that they were unavailable as soon as she handed the menu to us. I know squash blossoms are rare to attain and ordered the Seaworthy Roll in its place. I did not find much lobster in the delicious bread roll compared to the menu price. The toasted shade on the roll was a bit uneven but did not taste burned otherwise I would have requested a replacement considering the price. Our server was excellent as she was very attentive and knowledgeable of all menu items. Next time I am in town, Seaworthy will be on my "places to eat" list! read more

Not sure what I was expecting from Seaworthy but I was expecting more! People rave about this place and I am not sure why he because to be honest my experience was mediocre. We ordered the Taste of the Coast Tower and while the oysters were good (not great) the rest of it (shrimp and crab claws) were blah. The char-broil oyster are good but don't stand out in anyway from some of the others I've had in the city. The Seaworthy Roll (shrimp) is good but I wish they lobster option was still on the menu. I've had that before and enjoyed it more. The cocktails are excellent and I would def sit at the bar for hours trying those out. Now I do understand that these are limited items and none are from the Large/Entree potion of the menu so I will be back to try some do those and to see if the overall service is better (was not great this time). read more

Celebrated my birthday here last night, and it was perfect! It was our first time here. Dinner, drinks, and ambiance were all on point. Drinks: I had the Ninety-Twenty Nine, and my husband had the Blackberry Canard. Absolutely delicious. Dinner: We started with the hot crab dip - Y.U.M. It reminded me of an upgraded version of a crab dip one of my aunts used to make for the holidays. But so much better. Generous portion. Then came the soft shell crab, which also was generously sized. I am a sucker for soft-shell crabs and almost always order them if they're on a menu. This one was a winner. The best flavors and so much crabbyness - IYKYK. For our main we got the Seafood Tower Tier Two. It was the best compromise since we basically wanted to order everything. lol. I love raw oysters like I love my children, and these were cold and salty and so good. It was shucker's choice, and we got a great mix of oysters. The lobster and shrimp - perfect! And the ceviche was so flavorful. We ate every last bite. Dessert: We finished off our dinner with pecan pie to share. The perfect end to a delicious meal. Fantastic service - attentive and helpful. I tried : Murder Points (big, juicy, slightly sweet) Saucey Lady (compact, salty ) (5/5) Both were perfectly prepared on the half shell, and most importantly, this establishment knows that THE ALMIGHTY MIGNONETTE is an absolute must for raw oysters. I really appreciated that they had this in addition to the signature cocktail sauce and lemon wedge that most places in New Orleans serve. To accompany them I paired with the happy hour house rosé (4/5) The ambience is Sexy, with plenty of friendly staff that cleaned my area and walked me right to a bar seat.
