See's Candies has always been my favorite specialty chocolate!! It blows Godiva and others out of the water IMO. I went here today to use a gift certificate that my mom had. I picked out a custom 1 pound box. You always get a free sample when you visit. You don't have to take the one they give you, you can chose whichever one you'd like! If you don't want to buy an entire box you can get just a couple pieces in a bag. For YEARS it was a tiny little store...I grew up going to this location as I live in the neighborhood right by it. I would remember a long line out the door every holiday season. It was also a fun, SWEET, seasonal job that I had for 5 years. (Pun intended) ;-) It's such a nice, big, roomy store now. I highly recommend stopping by for a free sample to try their tasty chocolates!

I have ordered from See's only once. The order wasn't for me but the delivery was smooth and I was notified once the delivery was made. Since it was during the hot, hot Alabama summer when I ordered, they packaged the order to protect the chocolate from melting in the process. I really appreciated this small but very important detail. I have a friend that orders from here all the time, which is way I decided to place an order for a friend's birthday. I plan to order from here again ....this time I will be for me!

Once upon a time, this Faerie Queen needed to make her annual St. Valentine pilgrimage to this sweet spot! The staff are always so kind and there is nothing like the classic chocolates displayed beautifully in their cases from which to select your favorite sweets! An adult in a candy store feeling! See's is ready for any holiday. How great to be able to treat my Galentine's to these delights. Please be kind and make sure to leave just one rum nougat in the store for me when you visit! The end.

On the East Coast, there were many excellent candy stores and candy manufacturers that didn't break the bank. Through the years they disappeared to make way for chocolatiers that do break the bank. See's existed only as a small ad in magazines for ordering. The real live See's is like a fairy tale shop found only in the west. Nothing could really be this nice. But it is. "You had me at hello." ...and the arrival candy sample. When we entered, we were informed that photographing of employees was not permitted. Ok. We arrived, I guess during a lull, so there was store and candy to photograph aplenty. Immediately the flow of customers appeared from nowhere. Let me tell you they mean business. Serious and specialized orders. When it started to get busy it was reminiscent of the stock market or old Fulton Fish Market. Real loud. The first candy lady was helping a candy buying bride so we were free to roam. We were like kids in a candy store...oh, wait...we were. Wide eyed. But then along came most helpful and magical Sarah. She guided us through a selection process that befits a luxury purchase. I had a gift card that had been sitting in a drawer way too long. She was charmingly patient with us as we pressed our noses against the lengthy display cases. She even gave us a rewards card and yet another sample. However, we spared her the effort of wrapping our hoard. That box was never going to make it to the car unscathed. Sarah was a wonderful employee.

Fast moving line for Valentine's Day!

Located off of Bellflower Blvd, this See's show was easy to find and there is ample parking in the back. Entering the store on a busy Valentine's Day, I found the store to be very organized with candy boxes stacked neatly and well labeled. Large posters above the shelves provided a good picture of what was provided in the candy packages. While standing in a fast moving line, the friendly staff organized the customers in two lines; i.e. custom orders vs. pre-packaged purchases. This moved things along nicely. The See's staff was friendly and helpful, answering any questions that one might have about their products. An added bonus; you get free samples while you wait to pay for your purchase! Corporate discounts can be available, so make sure you ask if you think your company might participate in a See's discount program. Surprisingly, I was in and out in no time, making my Valentine's Day shopping a breeze. I recommend this See's store if you are a fan of their candy.

I got to the store at around 5pm I walked in and the young lady was on the ladder restocking and said oh I'm sorry I forgot about your order. Her and 2 other employees started to blow up the balloons at that time they mentioned they didn't have the color strings to match the balloons I ordered. I said why didn't you mention this yesterday? They all just gave blank stares. Mind you this was for my brothers home going service my moms wishes. One of the ladies was like well we don't have navy blue.. then she's like oh we don't have white either I'm standing there in disbelief. The balloons weren't ready and now you don't have the correct supplies to complete the job? I settled for what they had. As they were blowing the balloons I noticed they were over filling them I asked for them not to do that but they just stared at me. As a result of the over filling a few balloons popped in the car. I asked them to bag the balloons it was very windy they acted as if they had no idea what I was talking about. Fast forward I take them to the drop off location I arrive by 6:30pm to set everything up. The service was 3 pm the next day. I get a call while at my brothers funeral that all the balloons were down. They checked the cameras and noticed that around 10pm the night before the balloons started to deflate. I have experience with balloons there's no way they should have deflated that soon. I didn't want to ruin my moms wishes my best friend had to emergency call in a balloon company to try and replace the balloons before the repass. This was by far one of the most stressful events I've experienced. I was so disappointed. I will not be returning and I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else on such a special occasion.

He let me sample the vegan chocolate honeycomb and it was quite crisp and delicate. The texture literally felt like chewing on honeycombs wrapped in chocolate. Yum! I decided to bring home the cocoa butter crisps, which the chef states is made out of Ritz crackers and chocolate. Made me quite intrigued cause when you think of Ritz crackers, you don't automatically think of chocolate. But oh my gosh, I really like them! Perfect balance of chocolate and cracker with a great amount of richness coming from the Belgian chocolate. Loved the caramel flakes on top, as well. Ambiance inside the Partake Collective provides a modern vibe with a quick grab and go experience. I like how Chef Albert's sweets are set up neatly as soon as you turn the corner up the stairs. Sweets and chocolates are always an eye catcher for me, so I am glad I saw this and got to meet Chef Albert personally. I would definitely recommend trying the variety of chocolates and sweets-- hope to come back soon when I'm in the area!

What a cool place and yummy popcorn…read more Ever since this spot opened in Bixby Knolls, I have been wanting to make a stop because I LOVE popcorn. First off, shout out to the owners dad who talked about his son's business and how he moved back to SoCal to help him out. To help support their business, I decided to but a few bags since I loved their story. Plus, the shop was cool, service was great, and you are immersed by the popcorn scent once you walk in. Most importantly, there are so many flavors and if you are undecided like I was, they allow you to try 3 flavors. After deliberation and going back and forth which felt like hours, actually 2 minutes, I ended up taking home Doritos Cool Ranch, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Dill Pickle. Doritos Cool Ranch: Tastes just like the chips, and as a matter of fact, there are chip crumbs throughout the bag which is a plus because it is one of my favorites. It's mind boggling how they can master the taste and trick your mind, thinking you are eating a bag of chips. Not too salty, popcorn was fresh, and the taste was perfection. By the time we realized, the bag was done and had us wanting more. Strawberry Cheesecake: Sweet but delicious. Definitely tasted like I was eating cheesecake. Cool tip-eat one of the pink and white kernels to get the true taste and be sure to savor it. Dill Pickle: I am not a fan of pickles but I would make an exception because it had a great taste. My boyfriend enjoyed this a lot, too. As soon as I tried one, it was as if I was eating a pickle but it wasn't overpowering. Overall, such a great experience and we will definitely be back to try out some other flavors. Plus, they take recommendations so be sure to submit what you want to see in the store.
