    Cute!

Can never go wrong with some California milk chocolate brittle. They have good customer service and you can always find cute seasonal boxes and candies. Check out their Day of the Dead chocolate boxes! They are too cute (see pic for reference).

I am a fan See's Candies. The staff is usually very friendly and sweet. I stopped off here this time to pick up some Valentine's day chocolate. The lady who helped us was efficient but a little brusque which was odd for See's.

Almond royal tub...gonna see how long I can make this one pound tub last :)

The two ladies working this Wednesday night were great! I loved how cheerful and genuinely happy they were to service us. The one who gave me a sample was very thorough in inquiring my kind of treat before offering me a dark chocolate cafe Au Lait truffle (she first asked milk to dark, then fruit, nuts, coffee preference). I also saw how patient they were with other guests who were really studying the piece options intently. They were pretty nice with giving those guests the piece they asked for to sample. After a long day of work I it made me smile to see them still enjoying their day (or rather night) of work. I also tried a new to me candy thanks to fellow Yelp friend recommendation! And those almond royals are gonna be hard to ration.... I give myself maybe a month before the tub is done.

IMHO Don't ya love the smell of chocolate when you walk into a See's Candy store? I had a $25 See's Candies gift card to redeem for my father-in-law and was thrilled that Valley Fair has an actual store there! It has been forever since I've been into one, and I received sticker shock when I did. I remember the pound boxes of candy costing $16. Today's pound boxes are $27.50! Dang, it's been a while! Still, there are so many delectable choices to make, all "eye candy" (pun intended), and yummy. Yes, they still do offer free samples of their candy! The stores are always bright in their black and white decor with splashes of red boxes and seasonal candy gifts. I chose a tried-and-true favorite: Nuts and Chews. I'm sure Dad will love it!

Came into mall to walk around and run errands with no intention of even walking to See's. The smell called me in and the customer service was phenomenal, I was not going to leave empty handed. Anait greeted me with a kind smile and answered my million questions patiently without any hesitation. A big big thank you to everyone at the store and especially Anait. Photo as proof that I'm thoroughly enjoying my sweets

Went inside to look around and see what's new. They have a NEW heart shaped white chocolate w/ strawberry cream inside called Strawberry Truffle. It's a good one for Mother's Day coming up Sunday May 9, 2010. I got some samples. I can't wait for See's newest piece, the Dark Hazelnut Cream on Sat., May 15, 2010!! Didn't buy anything this time and got FREE candy.

See's are pretty much the same where ever you go - Same Chocolates, same taste. Only difference is the service. I dropped by this store while shopping in the center in hopes to pick up some of their Halloween Chocolates - They finally have them in store's! I picked up one pack of the Orange & Chocolate Creams. They are so cute! (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/l2aS3vdGShZSGHneZH2CWg?select=UT-E9vyfnFAVeHRu6TrLmA & http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/l2aS3vdGShZSGHneZH2CWg?select=gLLe2aT2ozJxaeq63w6O2Q) Along with an individual wrap of Orange and Chocolate Wafers (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/l2aS3vdGShZSGHneZH2CWg?select=i5pF2WDnky2CsbKGxO6cYg) They both look very appealing but are way too sweet. Think I will stick with their regular Chocolates. Rum Nougat YUM! Service = Ok. There was no one at the front till taking payments for the items they have out on display so I had to stand in line to pay at the counter where you choose your own selection. One of the staff actually looked directly at me while I was waiting at the till looking about to see if anybody was going to come and take payment yet didn't tell me it was unassisted. Took hubby to notice they had tills behind the other counter for me to then have to go and wait there.

I believe the cost is by how much it weighs and the type of chocolate? I ended up getting the smaller pieces of the matcha chocolate and the hazelnut chocolate. It came out to be $11.47 for both the chocolates and I have attached a pic to show you. They nicely package it. I def recommend trying this place. The workers here are also very nice! You have plenty of options at VF, but Venchi holds a special place in my heart as it's not too heavy, not too sweet, and really has a flavor for everyone. My previous go-to was a certain store located outside known for unique flavors that rotate every month. Unfortunately, their flavors have gotten a bit too crazy for me, and are oftentimes so sweet that it's hard to finish a single portion without sharing. At Venchi, I can easily eat a regular size by myself and feel so satisfied after. One thing to know before you go is that you pay first before you sample, so you'll need to commit to how many flavors and what size you want before sampling. I highly recommend upgrading to the freshly made waffle cone. There's a lot of other options like adding chocolate and other toppings to your cone, but that's completely up to you. As for the sampling, the people working there are very patient and generous, and will let you sample to your heart's content! If you have specific preferences (like you prefer less sweet or maybe even more sweet), they're happy to share their recommendations as well. My go to is pistachio and cremino, which is like a more hazelnutty version of nutella (and also less sweet than nutella). PS - make sure to sign up for their rewards program! They're running a promotion where you get a free mini bar of chocolate with a purchase of $20. After spending $40, you'll start getting 5% off future purchases.

We walked into a space that is clearly geared toward takeout rather than sitting down, with a sleek, minimalist interior that matches the refined approach of the desserts themselves. Rather than offering a huge bakery case filled with dozens of options, the attention here is on carefully crafted cakes, particularly their signature mille crêpe cakes, and the setup makes it easy to pick up and go without feeling rushed. The mille crêpe cakes are the reason to visit. Each slice is made up of delicate layers that feel light and refined rather than dense or overly rich. What stood out most was the balance of sweetness. The cakes are sweet enough to feel indulgent but restrained enough that the individual flavors still come through clearly. We tried the Hokkaido Milk cake, which was especially memorable with a clean dairy flavor and smooth texture that highlighted the quality of the cream. The tiramisu version added a deeper coffee-forward profile, with the espresso notes coming through without overwhelming the delicate layers. The matcha crêpe cake delivered a genuine matcha flavor that was not buried under sugar, maintaining the earthy, slightly bitter notes that matcha lovers look for. Beyond the flavors themselves, the texture is what makes these cakes special. The layers are thin, consistent, and soft, creating a delicate bite that feels different from a traditional cake. There is a noticeable amount of care in the execution, and the desserts feel thoughtfully made rather than mass-produced. Even the presentation is elegant, with clean slices and polished packaging that makes them a great choice for birthdays, anniversaries, or other celebrations where presentation matters as much as taste. Service was straightforward and efficient, and the ordering process felt easy whether we were picking up individual slices or whole cakes. The staff handled the takeout flow smoothly, and the packaging kept the cakes secure during transit. The desserts are definitely on the premium side when it comes to pricing, but the craftsmanship and attention to detail help explain the cost, especially when you consider the labor involved in creating the thin, consistent layers. Anton feels like a place that specializes in celebrating special occasions. The mille crêpe cakes are the highlight, with delicate layers, balanced sweetness, and flavors that feel carefully developed. If you are looking for a dessert that feels a little more refined than a standard bakery cake, this is the kind of place that is worth seeking out, whether for a celebration or just a moment of indulgence.

A pricey little box, but for this quality, it's to be expected. I sampled Vietnamese coffee and raspberry yuzu. I much preferred the tartness of the raspberry yuzu. The Vietnamese coffee was more on the dense and darker side which I wasn't really feeling. I ended up getting a custom 6-piece box: raspberry yuzu (x2), rose water saffron (x2), and sesame praline (x2). The raspberry yuzu was extra yummy with the chocolate this time. The bitterness and tartness went well together. The sesame praline was interesting. The filling had a more crispy and gritty texture as a result from what appears to be sugar crystals. The sesame was nicely incorporated so that it wasn't overpowering. I really liked it. The rose water saffron was interesting. It definitely had floral and earthy notes. This is among their most popular flavors, but it just wasn't for me unfortunately. It slightly crossed the floral soap threshold for my taste buds.
