Wanted to give Pizzeria Sei a shot as I noticed a long line outside one day and wanted to see what the hype was about. Went on a weekend around 430pm and was seated immediately. If you plan on going later, expect a wait time. Ordered the caesar salad, marg, and a diavola pizza. Absolutely nailed it out of the park. Everything was so delicious and well portioned out. Each pizza gives you around 6 slices and the caesar salad was so fresh and savory. Staff was cool and helped out on what to order margherita pizza: 8.8/10 diavola: 9/10 caesar salad: 8.5/10 The pizza is cooked to perfection. Each bite was so satisfying and delicious. The sauce and the toppings and the dough all complement each other perfectly. The richness of the sauce and the saltiness of the crust and toppings make me crave this pizza every day. This was my first time trying this place and I will definitely be ordering again. I ordered a Patate Pizza to go, and it was ready 10 minutes earlier than they said it would be. Unfortunately, I don't think they keep to go orders heated when they are ready for pick-up but it was not fully cold. This was really really good. A lot of flavor and the potatoes didn't make the pizza feel so starchy. The garlic and cheeses were really what added the flavor. This wasn't available as an option when ordering online, I called it in. Very cozy, actually has a firestone oven. The pizza was just like the one I loved in Rome. Got the Diavola and the tiramisu, both were great but the pizza sauce, toppings, and dough are simply the best. 100% worth the hype, really good Japanese style neopolitan pizza. Reservations open online I believe 2 weeks ahead. Be sure to make one, otherwise I believe they sell out early. The location is small but they are moving to west La to a bigger and newer location, of which this will be a takeout only location. Staff was super helpful and recommended a bunch of different things. We ended up doing the burrata, magherita and one that has potato in it. Everything was delicious, cooked extremely well. All I gotta say is wow! Reservations highly recommended! We didn't have one and waited 2+ hours before we got seated. We noticed that they put up a sign an hour into our wait saying sold out and no walk ins / pickup is available but they made sure people on the list were able to get what they wanted. All the flavors from the different pizzas were amazing. The restaurant is super small which is probably the reason for the wait time. This place was good! I wasn't wow'ed but overall it was good. The Caesar was very good but the tricolore wasn't as good it was bitter we only took a few bites. The burrata was a nice appetizer the bread was my favorite part as the burrata lacked some flavor. The Patate pizza was so good! I loved the shallot cream on it. The margherita pizza was very good as well I just wish it was somehow cooked a little more in the center. Service was good they were attentive. The inside is pretty small so it makes sense as to why reservations are hard to get. Sitting at the bar is fun cause you watch how everything is made. Three years after my first visit, I returned on a Monday night in October. I stalked Pizzeria Sei's Resy page for weeks until I finally scored a reservation (also, after weeks of looking, I realized that their reservation times open at 12 pm every day). It wasn't easy to get a reservation as the restaurant is so small, reservations book out quickly after they open. Pizzeria Sei is located on a busy street in Beverlywood. We were able to get free residential parking, but it took a little bit to find. There is no valet here. The ambiance here was just as I remembered it: there are some seats around the counter facing the open kitchen, and some tables inside and outside. The ambiance here is pretty basic, but I've heard that they are moving to a new, bigger location in the near future. We got the burrata, caprese salad and Margherita pizza. The appetizers were good but fairly simple and didn't stand out in terms of flavor. The Margherita pizza was light and airy. I've heard the pizza crust described elsewhere as "mochi-like", and I haven't been able to get that description out of my head because it describes it perfectly. This is pretty good pizza. I can see how it'd be someone's favorite pizza place in LA, but it is not mine, just based on my personal preferences. Service is always efficient and friendly. Back to report that I've been coming here almost every other month since my original review and glad to see they've gotten all the notoriety because they deserve it. Tokyo Style Neapolitan pizza for those who havent tried it yet need to experience it. If you cant book a reservation try showing a little before open or if you show and they're full you can always put in a to go order. Once you get that bad boy to go eat it up and experience the bliss people have been raving about. What you should order your first visit: Specifically the Special Margherita on the special menu. Reason being is they use buffalo mozzarella that takes this pizza into the stratosphere of taste. If you've got adventurous taste buds and if they still have it on the special menu, and you're into lamb make sure you try the Mala Lamb pie. Not heavy on the mala, but this comes out looking like a piece of art, and tastes like nothing you've had before. Still a vibe here, small and cozy with a great staff. I've eaten a lot of pizza and I love to frequent new places when traveling. Was in LA recently and tried Pizzeria Sei and I can honestly say it's by far the best pizza I've ever had. I know Neapolitan isn't for everyone but this stuff is amazing. It's more of a Neo Neapolitan, similar to the Canotto style . The texture of the dough was amazing. The flavors were out of this world. There's so much hype about this pizza joint and the first bite of the pizza made me see why. The dough is light and airy but also incredibly chewy at the same time. I ordered the Bismarck pizza which was entirely covered with layers of prosciutto cotto and finished with a runny yolk in the center. I'm not the biggest fan of sharp cheese so that part wasn't my favorite but everything else about it was perfect. It was also light enough that I didn't feel stuffed after. I also had a slice of the Ruti's pizza, a current special with ricotta and soppressata drizzled with hot honey and sprinkled with arugula. Again, the crust was amazing and the pizza itself was good but not a standout dish. We made a reservation in advance to guarantee a table because we knew the dining area was fairly small so I'd recommend doing the same. Amazing pizza! Came on a Thursday at opening and was luckily able to find parking right in front. I could see parking being somewhat difficult, especially on a weekend as the restaurant is on a busy street. We were around the 3rd or 4th in line, behind a few reservations but we were able to be seated right away, and were able to choose from the bar or one of the few tables inside. We had a glass of Sangiovese with the mala lamb sausage and the potato pizza. Both were really good. The lamb sausage had a nice smoky flavor along with the heat from the red peppers. The cilantro topping gave a nice freshness to the pizza, and the chunks of tomato had a nice touch of acidity to cut through some of the cheese and mala spice. The mala spice itself had a good kick but wasn't too spicy - you may need to take a few sips of water in between slices. The potato pizza was definitely very cheesy, as it did have around 4 different cheeses sprinkled on it. The potato was cooked well and was pretty soft. For some reason, the pizza tasted like a Nick the Greek fries or gyro. It may have been the garlic/oregano/thyme mixture. I also put some lamb sausage on the potato pizza, which made it taste even better (unless you're into straight cheese pizzas). read more

I've been wanting to come here because I've been wanting to try this type of pizza- I kept hearing about this Japanese take on Neapolitan pizza. The first thing I would say is get a reservation. The largest table they have is for 4 people, and there are maybe 3 of them, along with a few tables for 2. They also have seating at the bar. As soon as you sit you're offered pickled vegetables for the table, and the menu is pretty standard. We tried 3 pizzas and had some other dishes like the Caesar salad. Everything was delicious; the food is pretty rich given the amount of quality ingredients they use. The one that stood out to me most was the margarita- so simple and yet so good. I want to go back because I can't really describe the crust- it's nicely charred on the edge like a wood-fired pizza should be, and it's a bit dense with a good chew. Had a reservation at Pizzeria Sei after craving Tokyo-style pizza, and the food definitely delivered. Parking isn't bad, but give yourself an extra 5-10 minutes. There's metered street parking in the area and a small paid lot across the street on Pico. The space has a chill, minimal vibe--not loud or chaotic. That said, service and cleanliness could've been better. Water was served in plastic cups, which felt cheap. They dropped dishes a few times while bussing--not a huge deal, but distracting in a slower-paced restaurant. One of our forks had dried food on it. Our main server was great, but another guy working that night came off cold and made things a bit awkward. Nothing major, but noticeable. The food made up for it. We got the Margherita special and the Potate--both were incredible. The crust was honestly perfect: light, airy, crunchy, and chewy. The crust of your dreams. The undercarriage was slightly thicker than I expected, but it made sense and worked well to hold the heavier toppings. Alternating bites between the fresh tomato and rich white pizza was ideal. The tri-color salad was super lemony and refreshing. And do not pass on the tiramisuuuuuuu. So freakin good! not too sweet, great espresso flavor, just do it. We tried and shared a couple of things: Caesar salad- This was solid but I think I would recommend justfocusing on the pizzas. Mala Lamb special- wow this was so good. The green castelvetrano olives are sweet, meaty, and buttery. The purple olives are nice and briny, like the gooey capers. They spice the garlic, just like the prisoners in Goodfellas. This is a review of a take out order. If you're going to order take out, be prepared to order your food at least an hour and a half in advance. If you're waiting to sit down to eat, be prepared to wait 2hrs+. Do not do what I did and think that 4pm on a Saturday would be early enough to beat the dinner rush and since I was in the area, drive over to order take out at the restaurant, because the wait is just the same as if you ordered online before hand which was 1.5 hrs... Now to the food. I ordered their Margherita and Funghi pizzas. I selected the Margherita as a benchmark testing standard and the Funghi since I'm a big fan of mushroom topping on my pizza. Both pizzas were delicious on all levels. The crust was perfection! It was soft, yet still firm where you could fold the slice and it wasn't flopping all over the place and although the crust was soft and chewy, it was still perfectly crispy on the outside and on the bottom! As for the flavor of each pizza, all I can say is I see why this place is one of the top pizza restaurants in the world. Just some disclosure. I did reheat my pizzas when I got home. I preheated my oven to 250F and placed the slices on a pan that was wrapped in foil and made sure to check constantly so that the slices were only getting just hot enough to eat and no more than that. It made it like I was getting them fresh from the wood fired oven again, at home! I can't wait to order from them again and try their other pizzas! read more

Hopefully, I experienced an off night here. I was disappointed in the pizzas I tried here. They weren't that enjoyable and just ok at best. Slices were floppy and it was a soupy mess. Imagine picking up a slice, but then everything on top just slips right off, splashing down to the plate and then onto your clothes. I cannot believe how amazing this place is, this is the best pizza I've ever had in my life! I've had amazing pizza all over the world, but this was mind-blowingly good. Also, this may be a limited time seasonal offering, so definitely try it if you get a chance. 4.5/5 - Burrata: served with extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, amd toasted bread. I would come as a group of three at most. Majority of the seating is bar top style where you can watch them prepare pizzas which is pretty cool. The staff was great and we were not rushed in ordering when my friend and I were being indecisive. We decided on the burrata to start and the Diavola and Margherita special pizzas. Definitely sit at the bar here if you ever get the chance to get a reservation. It was such an intimate, simplistic restaurant with no decorations and the main focus being the pizza making. The whole team was super amazing and i do highly recommend getting a reservation and getting there early for the parking I liked coming in at this time cause it wasn't too loud and my cousin and i were able to have a whole conversation without having to yell at each other.
