I've heard a few people say this is the best pizza in LA. I agree!! This is what pizza is like in Italy. Thin crust and fresh ingredients. If you love authentic Italian style pizza you have to try this spot. Hopefully we just caught them on a bad day but it seems they're using different ingredients now. The tomato sauce has less of a citrus/smooth flavor. The cheese is less creamy and more chewy. The crust is saltier and less light/airy. The pizza was still good but it was a pizza that I could find anywhere in LA. read more

Why have a reservation system if it doesn't work anyways? We placed a reservation through Yelp 2 weeks in advance hoping to finally try the pizza we've been hearing about. Called in 2 days before just to confirm the time and over the phone the host told us our reservation looks like it's "been removed" but he could put us back on. So we thought we were pretty lucky calling in and that they still had seats open for the time we wanted despite the mix up..WRONG! Arrived for our dinner and was told that the reservation was STILL removed and that we would have to wait up to 25 minutes (even after talking to an actual PERSON over the phone and CONFIRMING the reservation). Since the place is tiny, we waited outside and within 10 minutes got bit up by mosquitoes. Throughout all this no one tried to offer up any remedies or even any forms of compensation. This ruined the whole night for us and we ended up leaving. This review is not about the food but for the service. If you decide to make a reservation here call at least 3 times to triple check or else you're not getting a table based on my experience. read more

The pizza was great, the restaurant could be better. Pizzeria Sei is a small, cramped spot in Pico-Robertson. It consists of maybe two dozen seats with limited room to move around. I made a reservation beforehand but still had to wait 10 minutes to get seated. I ordered the margherita special from the "specials" menu paired with a glass of the red blend. Fast service. The pizza was unique -- you can taste the sea salt and the oil on the crust enhances the flavor. It's decently sized, not too small. Overall, I get the sense that this place is going for an upscale vibe but the restaurant has physical limitations you can't ignore. I would go again if I'm in the area, but I wouldn't place it in my LA top 10 margherita pizzas. read more

So many friends suggested to try this place. There are times that there are lines down the street gave us even more reason to see what all the hype was about. We entered a two table with bar seating restaurant. I sense this is why takeouts are so many. We tried a Caesar Salad and a Margarita Pizza. The pizza was prepared right in front of us. Pizza dough stretched, beautiful tomato sauce, Burrata cheese and fresh basil, yum! Baked in a oven, shipped from Naples, at 800 degrees, our pizza was served in no time! Delicious at the first bite. Location is very limited on seating so not suggested for groups with more than 4. They have bar seating for you to watch them make pizza. It's a very quick process and the pizza was very yummy. We didn't try anything other than the pizzas. Perfect amount of flavor and can't complain about fresh pizza made in a smoky wood fired oven. Definitely recommend coming here for lunch or dinner. The one-star rating isn't because of the food or our waitress (she was great. attentive and friendly). The pizza was decent, nothing mind-blowing, but fine. What really soured the experience was the attitude from another staff member near the end. While one person in our group went to the bathroom, the rest of us were still seated at the bar waiting. A white guy with a beard and acne scars came over and told us to get up and leave -- for no good reason other than, I assume, to seat new guests. Could have asked politely. We would have been happy to move. We still moved but it didn't feel like we were treated with respect. Why was he so rude? Did something happen in his life that caused misery? Wtf? We weren't lingering excessively or being loud; just waiting for our friend. Really disappointing behavior. Do better. The "#2 pizza in the USA" hype doesn't make up for rude service. Also, the #2 pizza in USA was not at THAT level either (nothing mind blowing). Relax. Do better. read more

It's one of the best neopolitan pizzas my wife and I have ever had, and it's not even close! We started with 2 glasses of Prosecco, which was bubbly and delicious, I might add. We ordered the Margerita Especial with Prosciutto. The Prosciutto was melt in your mouth heavenly!!! The 2nd pizza we had was the neopolitano, which came with a variety of olives. It was also amazing! The crust was crispy on both pizzas, which was to die for. The appetizer we had was the burrata bread, simply yummy! Even the salad, which I'm not even a fan of, was yummy, fresh, and delicious. (Tricolor salad) For dessert, we went with the Tiramasu, which we had to take home due to us being insanely stuffed. I wanted to swim in that bowl of tomato sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious. I ordered a Margherita with added prosciutto cotto, baked in. Giardiniera. Tiramusu. I'm glad I added the prosciutto cotto, it really hit the spot. The pinching of the crust really made a difference. Normally I don't really care to eat the outer crust, no matter how good the pizza. But the pillowy softness under the oven crispness made a very nice difference. The whole pizza was delicious, and that tomato sauce was perfection. I love giardiniera, and this one was so fresh, bright, with good acid, and detailed with herb blossoms. Beautiful. The baguette slices were also really good, nicely toasted and still soft on the inside. The tiramusu. I think that was the best I've had. The texture and flavors were exactly right. The layers were melded and each still held their own, very good mascarpone, fresh sifting of cocoa powder on top. So good. Also, the pizza reheats very well. read more

I really liked Pizzeria Sei and would love to go back a second time. This is a small no frills restaurant, definitely make a reservation since seating is limited. I really like and appreciate when a restaurant has a small menu, it's less overwhelming and makes me feel they focus on what they're good at. I ordered the margarita pizza, I wanted to try a classic and the salad with radicchio. The salad was very light which I wanted and paired well with the pizza. I enjoyed the margarita, I really liked the outer crust flavor and consistency but felt the middle crust was too floppy. Is this on purpose? I was not sure. I prefer a more even cooked crust so that was my only critique and hesitation to giving 5 stars. I would definitely love to return and either try the patate or the funghi pizza! read more

Was looking for a place to grab some dinner and stumbled upon Pizzeria Sei. It is a very small shop with maybe enough seating for around 15 or so so for our party of 4, I tried to get on the Yelp wait list and watched that like a hawk. They close the wait list after a bit so it is a bit of a gamble. I got on the list around 5:45 for a table for 4 around 7:15 which was perfect for our group. We were all a bit late but they were friendly enough to not kick us off the list. We decided on three pizzas. I really enjoyed the Napoletana. The tomato sauce with the kick from the olives made the pizza saucy and flavorful. The green olives were ones I've never had before so I was surprised it was something I'd like. Next best was the Funghi which was more of a simple dish and it tasted as expected. A bit dry, maybe because it was just cheese and mushroom but overall solid. The Bismarck was a disappointment. The richness from the egg didn't really add much flavor and it still felt dry even though the egg was runny. The flavor wasn't complex either but it was supposed to be Pizzeria Sei's specialty. As for service, they were fine. We only got waters and it was refilled upon request but it would've been easier just to have a carafe of water since the pizza was a bit salty. As others have said, the dough was spot on and even for the pizzas I didn't necessarily enjoy, the dough was enough to entice me to finish the slice. read more

This review is based off two visits over the last month or so. Really great, if simple, service, and excellent pizza -- in fact, this is my favorite pizza. I've had the mushroom pizza, the potato pizza, and the bismark special with black winter truffles. They're all excellent. The crust is pretty perfect to me and the use of a lot of fresh herbs elevates everything. My only slight nitpick is that the crust wasn't sturdy enough to really support the toppings on the bismark, so it kind of got a bit floppy and under the egg, even a touch soggy. However, even though it was messy, once you managed to scoop up the slice, the flavors were outstanding. The $25 corkage is also immensely appreciated as these gourmet pizzas deserve a great wine to go with them. read more

What can I SEI, I ordered and paid for my pizza four hours in advance and I had to wait 28 minutes to get them. We are in Los Angeles where parking is a pain so my friend dropped Me off and drove in circles. I only got excuses for why my pizza was not ready instead of the truth. The truth is they forgot, I would except that more than we are backed up. No excuse when you have a four hour notice and just two pizza's to be made. I would say the only way to enjoy Pizzeria Sei is to get there right at opening and sit at the bar. I would say the simpler the pizza the better and you'll never be disappointed. I'm weirdly not the biggest fan of pizza - weird, I know. I like it fine, but it's not ever something I crave. But I LOVED Pizzeria Sei. I was surprised how bare bones the interior was. The cooks are legit, and they really know what they're doing. I saw the chef inspecting every pizza as it came out of the oven. The white pizza with potato was so delicious. My friend is a diehard margherita fan and was blown away. The pizzas also came quite quickly. The tiramisu was also fantastic, and I'm pretty critical of them. The cake/lady finger portion wasn't too soaked and it wasn't too sweet overall. And a good sized portion. I live 10 mins away and will definitely be back to try different types. The mushroom sounds great. There's plenty of metered parking that I think is free after 6 pm and all day on Sunday. They have a fast turnover and the staff is pleasant and straightforward. read more

I'll preface this with Neapolitan pizza not being my favorite in general, so this was already a hard sell for me going in. Service was great. Prices are fair for what this experience is. Parking is average on the street. The salad options were better than the pizzas, in my opinion. However, this location isn't the best. Across the street from Walgreens and homeless. Pizzeria Sei is tiny. Not good for groups. Maybe 3 people? Not good for dates, because since it's so small, everyone in the restaurant will overhear your conversation. I wouldn't do takeout because Neapolitan pizza needs to be eaten right away to maximize the taste and be less soggy, while other pizzas can be totally fine if eaten 30 minutes after it comes out of the oven. I'm not sure how long this place can be in business once the hype is over. Maybe they'll get so big, they'll expand to a bigger location? I don't imagine coming back, but that's not to say it's necessarily bad. It just wasn't for me for the reasons I listed above. read more
