I'm just going to put it out there, but I think the chicken wings here are better than those at Phnom Penh! Super happy that there's a good Thai place now at Granville Island (it's actually located in the net loft, not in the main market) and I will for sure be back again and again for those tasty wings!!! I'm salivating as I write this just reminiscing about how golden crisp, juicy on the inside, perfectly seasoned sweet and salty tang oh man...the dipping sauce packs a punch of flavour too with the fish sauce and tamarind blend---if you order anything here, make sure this dish is it. We also tried the pad Thai and papaya salad, both also very delicious! Leaning towards 3.5 stars :) Was excited to try this place as I searched online for must tries at Granville Island. Ordered their Chicken pad thai for around $15, which was delicious and had great, strong flavours. It's definitely one of the better pad thai's i've had. That being said, their chicken was almost nonexistent so definitely not worth the extra $3 unless you love tiny pieces of minced chicken. Quite disappointing as I thought we would be getting actual chicken pieces like the prawn one which is around (if not the same) price and you get full prawns! Compared to the $12 egg and tofu pad thai, I could not tell a difference so I would suggest to pick another topping or just get the egg and tofu! Since the flavour is great though and also a pretty good portion, I am planning on trying their other dishes when i have the chance. read more

When on Granville Island there are a lot of excellent food choices, but one of our favourite places to get a quick lunch is in the Net Loft across from the market. Here you sit under the skylights surrounded by Maiwa, Paper-Ya, Granville Island Hat Shop and other great shops. The food at Sen Pad Thai is unassuming but street-inspired noodle and side dishes. This time we ordered the pad hai goong, crispy wings and papaya salad with a thai iced coffee and mango slushy. The line ups here are less intense than the market and the kitchen is very quick. This is the new food fair restaurant opened by the owners of Maenam. The food quality is good for food fair food. We ordered the pad ki mao with chicken and the chicken wings. We had the chicken wings from Maenam and thought they were better than Phnom Penh's wings but Maenam doesn't have it on their regular menu. Was really excited about trying the wings at Sen Pad Thai. They are very similar to the ones I had at Maenam minus some seasoning/ flavouring but still good. Wish their portion was more than 6 wings though. The noodles are delicious but the portion sizes aren't the biggest for the $12 price tag. Wish they use sliced chicken instead of ground chicken. They aren't in the busy food court which is nice cause i don't like crowds and this just feels more civilized. Hope they survive the expensive Granville island rent. They need to do more advertising and need more signage at the storefront as everyone walking by doesn't know what kind of restaurant this is. read more

Standard dropped drastically since the move to the food court. Most dishes are done in batches now as compared to individual orders before the move from across the street. Same prices but done in batches now. Wished they would have stuck to the same way of cooking as before. They've doubled in staff so I do not understand why items weren't freshly cooked individually especially since prices were the same as before. That was what stood out for Sen Pad Thai from the rest of the competition, now they are just another typical food court stall. We used to come here every week but we won't anymore. One of my favorite Thai spots when I come to Gransville Island. They have relocated into the food court area, but I'm always disappointed when they used to run out of the clear sheet pad see ew noodles. It taste so fresh, so clean, gives it the slippery texture that bolds well with the chewy meat and crunchy broccoli. The pad thai is also delicious. They used to serve it with pork belly which was the best thing ever. Now they dont, so it's not as good. Obviously, pork belly elevates any dish. I haven't tried anything else but do love their spicy condiments that I drench my noodles in. read more

Good thai food at this stall in Granville Island Food court. Had the Pad Thai and crispy pork belly on rice. Noodles were made when ordered, very fresh. They give you a buzzer to hold on to until your food is ready. Price point is great and portion is filling. Would definitely return to try other things. read more

Discovered this place in the market place at a Granville Island. Essentially a fast food set up in a food court. It was the first day opened since the Covid lockdown. Ordered the basic pad Thai with tofu and egg costing $12. Served in a rectangular cardboard box. Generally, pad Thai is either on the dry side or somewhat saucier. Their pad Thai was saucier. I was really impressed by the strong taste of the pad Thai which was outstanding. Probably some of the best I have had and this from a food court outlet. The bad thing was I had to share the dish with two other people. I didn't get enough and was left wanting more! I will be going back soon and this time around will NOT share the pad Thai. read more

The flavor was on the sweet side which I wasn't too crazy about . Actually I found it a little too sweet for my taste . Without a doubt the worst pad Thai I've had in my life. Priciest as well! We waited over twenty minutes for it to be ready. Luckily they give you a disc that alerts you when it's ready so at least I was able to walk around the market. I was handed a box dripping with sauce. Inside was a soggy mess of noodles absolutely drowning in sickly sweet sauce. Minimal tofu but decent amount of small shrimp. I can only assume they are getting by on onetime tourist visitors. I had the worst experience with the manager today. Came here to order food and when asked what was cooking on their stove. The manager replied rudely and said they're called pots and their empty!!! Wtf?? Okay ?? Next he then pointed to a little small sign board and said, hey that's called a menu over there go over and have a look!!?! Very inappropriate and made everyone waiting uncomfortable. Very very very, incredibly, terribly BAD pad Thai. Just got the $12 veggie pad Thai and it was a soupy mess that looked like pig food. You would think it would be decent as it's survived in the GI market, but strongly recommend avoiding this sham at all costs. Ate 3 bites before the noodles were too mush to even be taken seriously. A casual take out Thai food right in the middle of the stores in the loft. We ordered the flat rice noodles and the pad Thai. Pad Thai was meh comparing to the flat rice noodle. The flat noodle was very flavorful and tasty. Even tho it was not authentic Thai food, but I will go back for it. Just wish they used less oil. Next time would love to try the wings and banana roti. As a local living not in the downtown area, I hardly go to Granville island unless we have visitors. But when we do make the trek down to Granville island it's most likely for food. We recently found this Thai place at the loft area across from the market. It's a sister restaurant of maenam freebird and another place that I can't quite remember right now. Anyhow it's amazing! I've only tried a couple of their dishes but what we also order are the crispy wings! Man are those things packed full of flavour! They come with a side of a citrus-ie dipping sauce that's just so amazing! The wings are always friend fresh and super juicy! It's a must get here. I've also had their pad siew and the curry (it was green curry with chicken the day I went) both have such great flavour! The pad siew comes with different choices of protein (chicken pork or beef) and packs a bit of a kick. I love spicy food but my husband who can't take too spicy thinks it's a little too spicy (but didn't stop him from eating it) and gave up 3/4 of the way. The curry was very fragrant. With lots of toppings and chicken. The only complaint here is that they use the same boxes for all food and the rice was kind of drowning in curry. If they had plated it on a plate then it would've worked out better I think! All in all a very great place to grab a bite of your in the area! read more

Hello I am Jef Choy... This place is the best food you'll ever eat from a take out window, and the best food on Granville Island. I suspect there will soon be line ups so I would enjoy it while you can. I regularly eat at Maenam, which is the reigning champ in terms of Thai food in Vancouver. It's a fancier place though, so I don't go as often as I want, this place gives me another option which is wonderful. I had the Pad Thai with side stripes which was delicious, fast, and for the price and quality of food, I found the portion size large. It's a dinner size portion for lunch. I would not consider it food court quality, it is much better than that, so I don't mind paying for it. We also had the papaya salad which was very fresh and flavourful, I usually am not a fan of this salad, but this one was special. Granville island is full of mediocre places which appeal to hungry tourists. Sen Pad is way above this which is awesome, it's something I'd recommend to anyone who visits, and it's a great reason for locals to reacquaint themselves with Granville Island. read more

One of the best Thai food in Vancouver bar none at this hole-in-the-wall, impossible-to-find-parking Granville island location. I would seriously try and go every day if it wasn't for all the frustrations and anguish caused from trying to park anywhere remotely near this area. Crispy Pork Pad Thai is a solid choice, as well as Holy Basil Beef/Chicken. They really hit a home run with this place.
