When I say this place is one of the best Italian places I've ever been I'm not joking!! I might be slightly biased since mostly everything there is gluten free/ has a gluten free option but truly everything was just spectacular. Everything came out very quickly and the workers so incredibly helpful with the menu. Everything inside was so cute and very rustic feeling. Anyone with a gluten allergy in the neighborhood should make this a definite stop.

Second time here and we really enjoy this place! The staff is authentically great attentive all of them. The food is perfectly portioned and wonderful. Comfortable restaurant in a great location. Plenty of Italian restaurants around but his one is simple and has such tasteful food. We'll be back.

Pizza was delicious and frankly was one of my favorite things. I cannot recommend the pizza enough food was good and ambiance was super nice. Cesar salad was ok and so was the pasta but overall good meal.

Serano's Italian is a solid spot in Midtown near Penn Station. A sister restaurant to Freidman, Serano's has cozy vibes reminiscent of a red-sauce restaurant. The service is attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The burrata salad was solid. The pizza was Detroit style and had a cheesy crust. My favorite part of the meal was the pasta. The noodles had an al dente texture and the sauce was well balanced. Would return!

Thank you yelpers for the recommendation. We were starving after flying into Newark and taking the train to Penn Station. The zucchini appetizer and calamari were delicious. My favorite was the Sicilian pizza. I don't think anyone makes it in Texas! The crust was so light w delicious cheese flavor and plenty of toppings

We came bc of their gf menu n enjoyed the meatballs, spicy broccoli pizza and the eggplant with bucatini. All yummy n made gf per our request

The warm, homemade donuts were delicious and gluten-free! Perfect ending to a wonderful meal.

The food was delicious and the service was excellent. I remember that the restaurant used to be Friedman's which is a couple doors down the street. Nice place!

This is probably my new favorite Italian restaurant in midtown - amazing service, amazing food, and amazing attention to those who have dietary needs! I've always been a fan of Friedman's since I have a gluten allergy and I'm so glad they opened up an Italian cuisine-focused restaurant literally right next door! I've been here a few times with friends and family and have gotten to try a variety of their items: - calamari: 3.5/5, really well seasoned but (here's a likely hot take) honestly almost a bit too crispy for my taste, I wish there was more of the actual calamari protein and chew compared to the outer coating - sausage and pepper sicilian pizza: 4/5, these pizza serving sizes are no joke! the dough is quite thick and pillowy, almost reminiscent of focaccia texture, which I actually really appreciate because most gf pizzas always have a super thin crunchy crust instead. I think one pie can be comfortably shared between 4-6 people if you plan on sharing entrees family style! - caesar salad: 3.5/5, can never go wrong with a caesar salad - they make it super cheesy, though it didn't blow me away or anything - chicken parm: 4.5/5, I really enjoyed the flavor, breading, and tenderness of the chicken parm here, my friends who don't have a gluten allergy literally couldn't taste a difference and all raved about it. - italian meat supreme italian sandwich: 5/5!!! If i had to recommend one item off of the menu, it would be this sandwich! it might sound super simple but this sandwich was SO good - so flavorful, the ingredients were such high quality and fresh and everything went so well together! The bread was so fluffy and airy with a light layer of cheese melted in. I honestly think I'd be happy just ordering this specific item again and again each time I came back to this restaurant. Since it's located in the heart of midtown and close to so many venues, would definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time just in case!

Nice quaint spot. The servers were very knowledgeable and helpful. We had the cheese pizza. It was just ok. The mozzarella sticks were good and my wife had Spaghetti Limone. That was good. It comes without protein but she added shrimp. The lemon flavor is very bold. I liked it. Now for the part most people want. It's pricey for the portions. $15 for 3 short mozzo sticks, $24 for the pizza cut in to six 2x2 inch squares. I get it, it is supposed to be authentic. But still. Expect to pay between $20-$30 per person and go eat after you leave.

    Bucatini Carbonara (GLUTEN FREE)

Food was sooo YUM. Had the best gluten-free pasta ever in a style I had never had before (bucatini). You had to get the mozzarella sticks too! All gluten free. Pizza was deep dish which I have not had since becoming celiac

Cute place. The rigatoni vodka was flavorful but came out room temp. The spicy broccoli pizza was mediocre. Service was also mediocre.

This had to be one of my favorite places I went to while I was in New York. If you are looking for some delicious food this is the place to go. The zucchini appetizer is to die for, I miss it everyday.

Good food , ambience and Ben was super friendly and attentive . The gluten free menu was delicious

Wrong image on the Crispy Chicken Parmesan Panini (GLUTEN FREE) menu item; don't show the actual bread they use for that dish.

And I commonly see the upstairs for private events like baby showers, bridal showers, or birthday parties on social media. After dinner with my friends, I was looking for dessert and I was glad to see this location closes relatively late on a weekday night at 11 pm. Upon walking in, I was greeted by a waiter who led us to one of the purple velvet chair booths that was perfect for two people and another waiter brought us a pitcher of water almost immediately. The menu is on a QR code already on the table and we were given ample of time to decide. My friend and I both already knew what we wanted to order. I got the purple Yam Souffle which takes 25 minutes to make and my friend got the fried squid tails. We also got a signature Rose Green Milk Tea to share. The waitress who took our order has great memory and recalled all of our items without writing it down. She also reminded me that I could adjust the ice and sugar levels of my drink which I had completely forgotten and would have got annoyed if my drink came out 100% sweetness. Another thing is that my drink order frequently comes out wrong at other locations so I was glad she got it right! Green tea instead of black tea and with milk instead of without milk. The purple Yam Souffle is just like the other locations. Hot, soft cakey texture balanced with an ice cold red bean Ice-Cream. So delicious! The squid tails on the other hand was not what we expected. It came out burnt and hard. The outer batter was not crispy either. We informed one of the waiters and he brought it back to inform the kitchen staff. We received a new batch that was not as burnt and had more flavoring this time around. However, the squid was still hard and not like the ones we get from other locations with smaller crispier pieces. Overall, it was still a good experience and I love the decorations at this location! This might be my second favorite location after the Flushing one. Would love to come back for brunch or hi-tea. Or regular food options when I have not already eaten dinner. My usual go-tos are the twister fries, Santa Fe chicken rolls, fried salted crispy chicken, and the trio dessert combo. However, this location has a lot more variety! FYI - there are two unisex restrooms in the rear for customers to use with really cute wallpapers too.

We ordered potted rose milk tea to share, Dubai affogato and Brown Sugar Boba Mille Crêpes Cake. We came on a Friday around 4pm. Originally I wanted to try the strawberry matchamisu, however, was told that it sold out. What a bummer. The rose milk tea came with a themed pot and cups which is really cute. The rose fragrant smelled so good and the milk tea also tasted good and has a hint of rose taste. The cake was good, the boba was well cooked, chewy and flavorful! This time there was an unpleasant experience. At first when the Dubai affogato was served, we did not realize that the amount of the coffee was little until we saw another customer's dish that the volume of their coffee looked significantly more than ours. My friend brought it to the waitress attention but the waitress brushed it off and did not acknowledge our concern. When we finished and were about to leave, the same waitress came over and showed us that the container of the coffee was different and hence the volume of the coffee looked different. At this point, we did not care for it anymore. We would have been fine if the staff acknowledged our concern. We thought that maybe using standardized containers for the coffee would avoid this problem. Other than that, the food and drinks were good.

Made with rice flour and egg whites, it is so airy, and literally feels like cutting through a cloud. Plus, it's gluten-free! A perfect little cake for a small celebration They also make the prettiest korean dessert sets, alongside bingsu, dubai chewy cookies, and einspanner. They're seriously always keeping up with the trends! *Black Sesame Ssal Cake $16.5 ** My top pick. The black sesame layer on top was the richest. Super nutty without being too heavy. The sponge and cream cheese had a subtle black sesame flavor. It reminded me of the cream in their black sesame einspanner. *Mugwort Ssal Cake $16.5 * This one was surprisingly rich. The mugwort had a strong earthy, herby flavor, while the plain cream cheese layer helped cut through the richness. *Mango Ssal Cake $16.5 This was a bit of a miss to me as there wasn't any mango-flavored sponge or mango puree inside. It was just a plain rice flour cake with a few slices of fresh mango on top. Though I could really taste the mild, clean rice flavor in this one. *Da-On Sang Set $26 ** A must-order if it's your first time here! The mochi was super soft, and the strawberry was so ripe and sweet. The yak-gwa and joo-ak were chewy, sticky, and just sweet enough, especially paired with the tea that came with the set. *Black Sesame Einspanner $8.5 *Mugwort Einspanner $8.5 The cream was lighter compared to other einspanners I've had. The mugwort one was bursting with earthy flavor. Definitely try it if you're a mugwort fan. The black sesame was alright. I personally wish it was a little richer.
