TLDR: The best way to unite group of people is with some paella!! Small place but great ambiance…read moreand even better service and to wrap it all up is a gorgeous meal Ordered Kale Salad: 3/5 - If you need a good palette cleanser then this is a good one to have. You can't really go wrong with a the kale version of a house salad however there are plenty of other options you could order Scallop Crudo: 5/5 - So incredibly blown away by this? I don't think I've scallop this good in years. Melts in your mouth, the sauce is light but perfectly pairs with the fish. I could not get over this one Gambas Al Ajillo: 5/5 - If I could lick the plate clean publicly and without discrimination I would've. The sauce reminded me of some of the best pasta ive ever had. The shrimp was big and well marinated, oh what fun this one was! It was a crime this didn't have more bread to soak it in. I'm not just leaving money on the table, I'm leaving bliss. Potatoes: 5/5 - These were really good! I loved the heat this had and the sauce to go with it. The seasoning great, the skin was crispy but still a soft moist potato inside. These were great to share. Paella Mariscos - 4.5/5 - After everything we had this was a fairly good portion for 3 people even though it says it serves 2 (I still stand by the 2 serving if you don't have much tapas). With that said I think this was a little more on the simpler side when it came to flavor. You could tell it wasn't trying to do too much while still letting you know she's the star of the show. There was a good amount of seafood all of which was cooked really well. The rice was perfect and the sauce ratio was great as well. I had some the next day and it was even better. I really think those scallops just stayed in my mind the whole night. Bread Pudding - 4/5 - I really appreciated the creativity behind reinventing the bread pudding! It was like a cinnamon roll esc type which was a fun but not blow me out of the water dessert. With that said everything on there looked so good so my eye is on the key lime next. Wine: The Albarino was great! I've never heard of it but was a fan favorite. Paired great with all the food. For 3 the total came out to $280 (with tip) which wasn't that bad. Service: 5/5 I forgot our servers name but he was so sweet! He gave us his recs, checked in on us frequently and was accommodating. I also feel like he was serving a lot of tables so his service was stellar! Ambiance: 5/5 The place is tinnyyy but man I am obsessed with the interior. Its swanky without it being pretentious. Intimate feeling but can feel the atmosphere. Not sure what the noise level was like inside, we were outside (two tables on the sidewalk), but it seems like it could get a little loud. Parking: N/A - Its a prime spot on ventura, only metered so...can't really knock the place off that. Really excited to come back here! Hopefully in the near future!

The staff was very friendly, and the owner checked in frequently to make sure we were enjoying everything. We ordered the patatas bravas, fries, mushroom bruschetta, asparagus, calamari, octopus, and branzino. Every dish was delicious and perfect for sharing between 2-3 people. For dessert, we had the cheesecake with strawberry sauce, which was amazing. They also have a great wine selection and delicious sangria. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would love to come back to try more dishes. 10/10 -- highly recommend!

I can emphatically say he's the best musician from the lineup. We were there on an off day, i think it was a Thursday, and we experienced another musician, David, he's ok, but he takes super LONG breaks, we specifically went there for the live "now Thursday music" which is great, but David just retreats to breaks tooooooo long. The music isn't upbeat. He's talented, but for the ambience, the musicians should make it fun and upbeat with some medium tempos as well. Roger, out of the lineup, is by far the most fun and upbeat, and he is so nice and personable! We went for lite appetizers and drinks, but roger made it that much more fun. We ended up staying until he was done. We gave him a very nice tip, and he was so grateful. Throughout the evening, we requested a few tunes, and he played them! We love his music and his energy! Roberto was fantastic as well, with positive energy and very friendly! We will be back soon, and will check Casa's website for Roger's dates!! He's MAGNIFICENT!!!!!!

I ordered the La Bamba Special, which features slow-roasted, shredded pork seasoned with a Caribbean-style marinade and is usually served with rice and beans. I was looking forward to a flavorful Cuban-style dish, but the meal turned out to be quite unexpected. Instead, the plate included chunks of pork topped with raw red onions, accompanied by Mexican rice and refried beans, which didn't align with my expectations. Overall, the dish was disappointing and unappealing, both in flavor and in the combination of sides. I ended up eating only a quarter of it. The refried beans had no flavor, and I chose not to eat the rice because I prefer different styles. One of my friends ordered fried yuca and fried plantains. While I appreciate the effort to include these items, the yuca was quite dry and could benefit from more seasoning. The plantains, which resembled regular bananas, seemed to have too much oil. As someone who enjoys Caribbean cuisine, I believe the restaurant would benefit from focusing more on traditional flavor combinations. Mixing elements of Mexican and Caribbean cuisine can be a challenge, especially for those familiar with both; there's great potential for improvement by keeping these cuisines distinctly represented. I recommend assessing your kitchen staff; they may need training. I wanted to share some positive recommendations with family and friends about visiting this restaurant, but I recommend exploring other options for now. I hope that constructive feedback will help enhance the dining experience. Thank you!

When food tastes good, I dance a little in my seat with a big smile. I guess one of the patrons noticed. As he was walking out, he said you're really enjoying yourself. I really was. The Paella Marinera dish seemed as if the ocean exploded in my plate The shrimp. The prawns. The calamari. The muscles. The clams. I was so glad everything was perfectly cooked and nothing was mushy. There was seafood in every forkful. The taste exploded in my mouth, and not a bland taste anywhere. My comfort were the plants I was seated next to. I touched them to check if they were real. They were real, and they were healthy. The owners care what the restaurant looks like because the plants are healthy. These little things I notice. I had a great time at La Paella. Vibe not pretentious and food wasn't overly precious. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and gave thoughtful recommendations. The owner/chef even came by to check on us and spent time chatting, which added to the warm neighborhood feel of the place. They were also extremely accommodating with dietary needs, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. No full bar, but the sangrias were excellent with great flavors, and the wine list was approachable rather than overwhelming. Nice touch that everything is available by the glass, carafe, or bottle, with bottles still being the best value. The vermouth on ice with dessert was fantastic. Every dish was excellent. The strawberry gazpacho was a fun twist, and the artichoke hummus rivaled the hummus at Saffy's, though in a different style. I also noticed the very high-quality olive oil across multiple dishes, which says a lot about the attention to detail. Heads up, they seem to have a cult around their cheese cake, every staffer mentioned it and waxed poetic (as do many reviews). :-) We'll do it next time but opted for the flan which did not disappoint -- texture and flavor spot on. This feels like a place that wants to become a true neighborhood spot. The long bar seems ideal for casual walk-ins or solo diners looking for a quick bite and a glass of wine. We went all out, but you could easily order a couple of plates and a drink and leave very happy. Portion sizes were generous for a tapas-style restaurant. A great addition to the neighborhood and absolutely worth a visit. Fills a niche in the area.

There was ample al fresco seating, as well as atmospheric, candlelit dining inside. Menu items were reminiscent of my time in Spain and transported me back to my time there. What we ordered for the table, in order of preference: 1. Patatas bravas - fabulously crispy and flavorful. 2. Sardines - always a favorite, and the lemon zest contrasted nicely with the brininess of the fish. 3. Gambas - prawns were perfectly grilled and fresh. 4. Croquetas - love anything fried or crispy, so this was a classic choice. 4. Sardine toast - again, the lemon zest offset the fishiness beautifully. 5. King trumpet mushrooms - so umami, and almost tasted like steak. 6. The steak - loved the bright sauce that accompanied it. 7. Arroz - perhaps because I was expecting more of a paella dish, this one came out a little more textureless than I would've preferred. Decent flavor; just didn't entirely enjoy the mushy texture. 8. Morcilla de cebolla - I ordered this wanting to give blood sausage another try, but it's still not a favorite dish of mine and would not reorder. Overall, most dishes were enjoyable, well made and presented. We also enjoyed a carafe of basque wine, which complemented our meal very nicely.
