There for a birthday/reserved table this past saturday night. They charge $15 cover for guys (a.k.a. cock tax). Ok, but for a freaking birthday with 12 people that will order drinks inside? Lame. The inside is dustier than a hoarder's attic, and it smells like jizz. Music is decent considering the establishment, a mix of turkish, persian, italian, english, armenian dance music; a few stinkers in there but up-tempo. My cd's would wipe the floor with this place, but again, for where you are it was o.k. The clientele---to say the least---is not pretty to the eye. Full-bearded armos. ( I am armo too, just not the psycho-gangster type who has a $75,000 mercedes but cant pay the license fee and has an expried sticker) Nasty, mid-age dressed-to-bang women. A full array of lesbians, and not the playboy kind. The only eye candy you'll see here is the DJ who also owns the place, but she swings for the home team as well. I am not dissing them, have nothing against race/sex or preferance, just its what you get, so be prepared. If your white you sure aint in Kansas. Miserable night that could not get through. To top if off some sex-starved persian nasty 50+ year old blonde kept chasing me around; dancing in front of me when I am inside, right next to me and chatting around my friends when we are at the patio; just an awful night. Barely some room outside for smokes at the patio, but was so cold cant enjoy that either. Is a speaker right on top outside really necessary? People go outside to get away from the music, not dance. Not a regular smoker but when I feel in a great mood or suicidal like tonight, like to puff one or two. Our table had a few plates of appetizers, didnt touch them since the pounds of dust settled onto them for hours. Friend said hummus was awful. Diet coke I ordered was strong as hell though. LMFAO Absolutely ZERO authentic, not even somewhat close to good Middle eastern fare. Service was good, not really put to test because I ordered one coke, and rest of friends ordered at the bar. Absolute worst place I ever went to. We went on a sat night for a friend's bday and it was kind of boring so 4 of us decided to have dinner. We sat down and ordered our meals. When I asked for a refill of my coke, so she I would have to pay for it. I don't mind paying, but which restaurant that charges $15-25 a plate charges you? So it just got worse and worse. My friend had a cup of water, the waitress refilled it once, the second time, she had to nerve to say "the bar has bottles of water, if you want more water, buy a bottle from the bar." Do you really expect a tip after that? My other friend had ordered a pasta the waitress suggested, but she had written down the wrong pasta. So my friend ended up with the wrong pasta which was tasteless and the waitress would not change it. She blamed it on us and said "You ordered this, I am not changing it, you said you wanted this." Excuse me, but we ordered exactly what you suggested and nothing else. So I had to run around and talk to everyone there and get security involved (guess they don't have a manager or something) and they got it changed for me), but its kind of ridiculous. Anyways, I had a stomach ache and bloating the same night and the day after. Pretty sure it was from the food. I just know I am never going back there again. I should have read the reviews. If you like a place that plays Mediterranean music, including all the latest dance music for Greek, Turkish, Persian, Armenian, Arabic,French, this is a good spot. The DJ plays great music and gets the crown going... However, as most Mediterranean/Middle Eastern places try, they try to milk you and skim on everything. First, men are charged cover after 9 PM, and women after 10 PM. So, get there earlier to avoid that. The DJ starts spinning around 9:30 PM, so the place doesn't get going until closer to 10 PM. The food is descent, but the drinks are very expensive. More expensive than trendy places in Hollywood & the West side. All regular drinks, like rum and coke, vodka tonic, etc. are $12. What's funny is that my friend got his rum and coke at the bar and got charged $12, and when he ordered from the cocktail waitress, she charged him $13+, which she claimed was for tax. Needless to say, everyone was pretty ticked off over the drinks situation and how they were getting charged random prices. The place looks like the drinks should not be more than $8, no matter what you order. We were there with 20 people and although we had a guest list, anyone arriving after 10 had to pay cover. We had ordered food, but couldn't get them to bring water to the table for us. They brought two small carafes of water, which was less than 3 glasses of water, for 20 people, and told us we had to buy bottled water if we wanted more ;). I had never seen anything like this? Where do you go spend hundreds on food and drinks and they won't even give people a class of water per person?! VERY CHEAP! The food was tasty, but the drinks situation and the water situation ticked everyone off, and we pretty much didn't want to spend any more money there. To top things off, when we got the bill, they had double charged us for drinks we had already paid for and we had to argue for a long time and show previous receipts to get it corrected. I can imagine, a lot of people do not check their bills and just go ahead and pay. It's not a fancy place, but given the fact that there are not that many Mediterranean places around, they stay in business. read more

I have attended this establishment many times in the past year and have enjoyed the music and ambiance. The waitresses are friendly and the drinks are generously poured. The crowed is diverse and so is the music at Serra's. It is a great place for girls night out as well as date night with your significant other. It's also an added bonus to be able to order bar food late at night if you get hungry. read more

Was bar hopping on a Friday evening and a friend and I strolled in because the bartendar called us in like we were in Tijuana. He showed us inside the place which is huge and the decor is tacky. He introduced us to the owner Serra who looked us both up and down and was seated and never got up to say hello and did not take my hand when I offered to shake hers. She is pretentious and her place only caters to her people or anyone who wears designer clothes. I have never felt so unwelcomed. read more

We went there for a birthday and they charge guys $15-$20 entrance fee depending on who's letting u in! The food is horrible. You have that burnt oil after taste after eating French fries or wings:( this place looks old and dusty and the decoration is so tacky. Came here to see a group sing/play and the place is rather tiny. Pics were a bit deceiving, and they over sold tixs to event. Drinks weren't bad, but food was horrible. My boyfriend orders fish & chips, and they looked as if they just poured the two time fish sticks out the Gordon's fish stick bag, and they had the nerve to be $14.95. I had the lamb chops & they were mediocre, but definitely better then those measly fish stick he had. They were $18.95 and definitely not worth the money. The service was super slow. If I do venture back to this establishment I'll make sure to eat first since the foods leaves a lot to be desired. read more

I normally do not write reviews but after reading all these negative reviews of this place, I want to add my 2 cents. I had the pleasure of being invited to the opening night of the Butter Entertainment Show. When I walked in I thought the ambiance was beautifully cozy and sexy. The drinks were fairly priced for the valley and that's good anyone who thinks $10 is high for a drink in the valley must ONLY drink at home...as for the staff very friendly, got drinks in a good turnaround time. Serra the owner is extremely a beautiful person!! Very sweet and attentive to people who had been visiting for the 1st time. I will be going back on Monday to see the show again!!! Serra`s is a great place just to sit back relax or dance the night away. Serra`s has a great band list. I have been to this club a number of times and I am never disappointed. I was there a few weeks ago to watch a Band call Soulicious, it was amazing it was call Soul Kitchen event and they had Soul Food and it was AWESOME. I had Fried Catfish, Candied yams, mac & cheese and some collard greens and the Peach cobbler was to die for. I would highly recommend this club. read more

This place is a complete embarrassment to the Turkish culture. I was referred to go here for "great Turkish food," as I haven't found an authentic Turkish restaurant in Los Angeles. I went here with a friend, the place was empty. When we opened their menu, it had about 3 authentic Turkish Dishes, then the rest were either Asian or American dishes. We ordered the lahmacun, hummus, Lamb Kebab and Manti. The Lahmacun was mushy, and folded into a pocket. This is NOT how it's supposed to be made. It's supposed to be crisp and flat, not folded. The hummus was so thick we couldn't even dip the pita in it, we had to use a fork. The manti was pretty ok, but the dough was hard. The service here is TERRIBLE. It took 30 minutes for the server to bring the bill. I finally had to get up TWICE to walk up to her and tell her that I needed the bill immediately. What a shame.... I can't believe they have the audacity to claim themselves as an authentic Turkish restaurant. DO NOT go here. read more

the pace is nice, the dj was very good, but the service sucked. after 45 min passed my dinner order ,the waitress come s in and stated that the kitchem is too busy to make my dinner ,so they had to cancel my food, the eggplant appetizer plate was small and no filling, I asked for bread to eat that they charged me , i asked for tap /glass of water, she charged me $5.00 for water $4.00 for tea. when i asked the lady why u charging for water ,she said sorry thats what we do, Then i lost my prescription glasses , i looked everywhere and the security guy helped. people in next table didnt even care ,i asked around , but didnt find it, as i am ready to leave, i looked at the next table, i see my glasses next to some body's iphone and flower nicely tucked in , i was appauled and disgusted as how people can steal from you in there. As for myself, and the whole crowd I have went here with have completely amazing things to say about this place! There is so much diversity, and an impeccable time will be spent if you're there with people you adore. The staff is amazing, and the owner Serra and her brother are wonderful. We went here tonight to check out some live music. The show was great and the space was beautiful. Loved the decor, there was a good bartender and good drink selection. Our waitress was terrible though, forgot about us for at least half an hour, didn't try to hear or be heard over the music, and when we told her about the Yelp $10 for $20 deal she sent us to the bar and gave up serving us. Then there was a lot of hemming and hawing over the deal. First, we were using it on the wrong night, then that it "doesn't exist anymore" (we bought it the day of), then that "Yelp won't answer their phone" (not clear why that's our problem), oh and "if it's not printed how will we know it isn't being reused" (not much logic to that and the coupon specifically said could be shown online). After a lot of aggressive talk at us, and a lot of smiling, nodding, and insisting we bought it from us, they gave in. The service was so frustrating we will not return. read more

I absolutely love Serra's Dine & Dance. From the very first time I went there I was hooked. I love the smoky red décor without the literal smoky air for one thing. The food is quite tasty and Serra's offers a traditional cuisine as well as an international flair as well. And in recent months there is even a Soul Food option which is so cool. I have had the pleasure of experiencing Serra's as a patron as well as a performer. As much as I love Serra's the place...I love Serra, the owner even more. She is warm, kind, and accommodating to her performers. She goes the extra mile to make her performers feel welcome and sets the stage for a great performance with her genuine kindness and professionalism. I love the wait staff as well. The ladies are pleasant and efficient. Serra's is a place where you can kick back and enjoy a great meal and a cocktail, or dance the night away. If you haven't been...go. If you haven't been in a while then I say go this Saturday night and be prepared to be fully entertained by Soulicious...LA's hottest full service band. You will love it...I sure do!!
