To avoid long wait times, try getting "in line" on yelp or making a reservation. They're busy. Once you're seated, service is very quick and dishes come out pretty fast. Our server Brian and Marco were great and attentive. The XLB were my favorite of the 4 things we had. The beef rolls were tasty and very large, but I prefer the steamed dumplings. The house chili oil and house vinegar were good, but I think it would be better if there was a spicy version or something spicier.

I've wanted to try this place for a long time and it comes highly recommended by friends and family. I've tried coming here for early dinner but the line is also very long. Instead, we came when it just opened and over Memorial weekend, expecting most people to be out of town. They accept waitlist via Yelp. Even though there was a wait, at least it wasn't very long. We ordered beef wrap, scallion, xiao long bao, and golden prime beef noodle soup. The beef noodle soup definitely has a kick to it. It was a little too spicy for my daughter so she ate mostly the other three items. Their xiao long bao was very comparable to Din Tai Fung. Everything was very good. Normally, my daughter and I prefer the beef wrap with no cucumber, but we didn't even mind it at all as it gives a nice crunch and not too overpowering. We will definitely come back and try more items.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was very busy but the wait wasn't too long though maybe 25 mins. They don't have many table to seat large parties (3+) they mostly have bar seating and the booth seating is pretty tightly packed so just a heads up that if you have a larger party you might need to wait longer. Luckily I got sat in their few middle tables that were spacious. I was able to order quickly and the workers are nice and gave me recommendations. Passion fruit green tea and this was definitely my favorite thing I ordered that day the drink was so light, refreshing, flavorful, but not too sweet the passion fruit seeds being in the drink was annoying though. (4/5) Spicy XLB they came out quick but I wished they were hotter they were just warm but delicious flavor and filling sadly was not spicy though no kick no heat at all. (3/5) Beef rolls nice and crispy lots of scallions and the cucumbers added a nice fresh aspect and crunch but needed more sauce. (3/5) Pan fried dumplings took the longest to come out were crispy but not that flavorful again very filling though. (2/5) Golden prime beef noodle soup I'm sorry but this was just not for my taste at all I can't even describe what flavor the soup was something I have never had before very unique. The noodles were nice and chewy but again I'm expecting soup to be hot but it just came out warm. (1/5) They had some sauce and chili oil on the table and I made a mix but it did not help add flavor to any of the items. I ordered too much and the leftover beef rolls and pan fried dumplings reheated well in the air fryer.

SEVEN GRAMS @ TUSTIN The food here was SUPER yummy and authentic! We joined the waitlist on yelp and after we got ordered, the food came out pretty fast! I just wish they remembered our water, since we had to remind twice. Overall 5/5!

10/10 Crab XLB - Love these! They're so juicy and bursting with flavor. They add some corn on the outside which is a funny addition lol but no complaints here! 10/10 Wonton W/ Chili Sauce - This is one of my favorites here. The chili sauce is great and it's literally not spicy at all. 10/10 Scallion Pancake - My favorite thing to get here! It's super crunchy. I do feel like it's missing a dipping sauce so I just made my own with the sauces already on the table. 10/10 Pan Fried Dumplings - Probably my least favorite out of the four items. They're pretty basic and generic as far as dumplings go but still good. Cost - Crab XLB $11.00, Scallion Pancake $6.00, Wonton W/ Chili Sauce $9.00, Pan Fried Dumplings $13.50.

We ordered several dishes since there were four of us, and everything was enjoyable. The dumplings were especially delicious. The xiao long bao were even better than the well-known dumpling chain whose name ends in "Fung." Prices were also very reasonable. We also tried the ham fried rice. While I'm not a huge fan of the amount of corn in it, it was still flavorful. The steamed pork dumplings and wonton soup were tasty as well. Service was great, and the ambiance was nice despite the restaurant being very busy--we had to join the waitlist. It was our first time here, and we'll definitely be back.

We recently dined at Seven Grams. We had: Beef rolls: very good. Potatoes strings with shrimp: very good. Pig ears: I didn't try it but my sister loved it. Not my kind of food. :) Spicy pork paste over noodles: very good. Ham fried rice: good. Golden Prime beef noodles soup: very spicy and tasty. Southeast Asian Seafood Noodles Soup: very good, with a hint of basil, lime, and some chili pepper. Several types of xiao long bao: good. Definitely a must return since everything was delicious. We all enjoyed it!

I've been hearing a lot of good things about Seven Grams lately, and finally decided to try it. On a Saturday, even at around 7:45 there was a good half hour wait. But there is plenty to do in the plaza to keep you busy so that was okay. The restaurant is def on the smaller side, and their menu seemed quite small too. I've heard a lot of people compare them to DTF, so - had to try their XLB. Hubby and I ordered - Pork pan fried dumplings, Pork XLB, Mapo Tofu, Beef Roll, and their Golden Prime Beef Noodle Soup. Everything was delicious! XLB was flavorful and juicy, Mapo Tofu had that nice numbing spice, beef roll was super tasty, pan fried dumplings were good - my only complaint was that I wish the bottoms would have stayed crispy as they kind of softened, though they still retained good flavor - and gotta save the best for last - the beef noodle soup. The noodles alone were very flavorful - and the soup had a lot of spice, but it was SO tasty. I almost didn't order it because we had so much food already, but I'm so glad we decided to get it. I understand why there's always a line out the door now, and I'll say it's def worth the hype. If you haven't checked this place out yet, please do! I know we'll be coming back for more!

It's always a pleasure to be in Orange County...and when you are. This place is a must for some yummy dumplings, beef noodle soup and the beef wraps...and unfortunately, those dishes were are before I could snap that picture...next time Yelpers. You know how it is sometimes.... The customer service here has always been tip top. Great seating and location. You have bar seating and table seating which gives you an option on how you want to consume your dumplings. Do not past up these place. Dumplings down, this place is delicious... Thank you 7G's. I will be back again and again...

Amazing and reasonably priced Chinese food! The XLB were delicious and came out pipping hot in the steamers. The spicy pork over noodles was one of my personal favorites--reminded me of noodles from Sichuan! Absolutely loved this place and will definitely be returning

First, I went into the store around 5 PM. There was no wait and the tables were decently booked. The service was decent nothing special but they did come to my table when I asked. Thet never did check on the table, though during a service and when we were eating our food, the food itself was decent. Food: Nothing crazy good nothing bad I enjoyed the spicy wontons and the noodle soups. The XLB is OK. I did like the spicy XLB the most parking is somewhat difficult as a plaza can get quite busy. I would recommend to go earlier before dinner rush

I literally come here just to eat the Golden Prime Beef Noodle Soup. A little different than your typical beef noodle soup. There are mustard greens in there (which I love!). But if you don't like that taste, I would not recommend it. It can be a bit spicy, so I usually just ask them to put the chili on the side. I've also had some of their other dishes, such as beef wrap, XLB, wontons in chili sauces, and tomato beef soup. All relatively good. But as I mentioned, I literally just come here to eat the golden prime beef noodle soup. I've had this dish at a few other restaurants, and it just doesn't compare to this place.

Food****// this place offers variety of foods from xlb to Thai style noodle soup. Make sure to get their fried rice and drinks - no boba but packed with tea aroma. Service****// usually pretty good where they set tables really quick and constantly check in on ordering and waters. They could check in on the food that'd make it even better. Ambiance****// modern with some bar area and many tables which can sit families. But big party might need to call ahead so you don't wait for long time

Service dogs yes, but I don't think dogs would be very comfortable in the restaurant. It's usually very busy and cramped.

They only have dumplings, noodles, beef roll, and side dishes...no dim sum. They open from M-Sat:11-9:30pm & Sunday: 11-9pm

I don't think they have egg. Not completely sure, but traditional scallion pancake is usually just flour, scallion, salt, water, oil

We've been here several times before and what keeps us coming back is the quality of the food. Today, they had a new chef cook our food and it was terrible. Green beans were extremely sour (way way too much vinegar). Mapo Tofu had a ton of oil but not enough sauce, so it was just flavorless except the oil. The fried pork chop was over fried where some pieces you can't even bite through. The rice had too much water in it and was mushy. I rarely return food but this time it was so bad we had to let them know. We returned all of our dishes back to them. They let us know there was a new chef today, and they would remake all the dishes for us with the original chef. The replacement dishes were just as good as all our previous visits and it was excellent again! So thanks to the staff for fixing the problem. I'm not sure if they are training a new chef to take over, or as a backup, but they need to be careful as serving bad quality food like that would drive most people to never come back. We knew the food was good from prior experience, so we knew we could ask why the food quality changed. For first time customers, or those that may have ordered to go - if you had bad food today, it may have been a fluke due to the new chef. Service however was a amazing as usual. For all our visits including today, the staff has been kind and always looking for ways to help out and make sure we were having a good experience. So besides the food being good, I would say excellent service is also huge plus here. Don't be fooled with the automated ordering and robot delivering the food into thinking there is no service. The people behind the counter are awesome! Hope management takes care of this new chef issue quickly since their food quality is the main reason people come here. There was a night and day difference between the original food we got today, and the replacement!

It had been a couple of months since we were last there and my parents and my daughter had been asking to go back and were really looking forward to eating there. However, we were so disappointed when we went back 2 weeks ago! The menu changed a bit, which was fine, and all our usual dishes were still there. We did notice that the cooks have changed and the original Cantonese chef was not there. I think the kitchen staff really changed how the flavors of the dishes for the worst. My 7yo daughter used to love their shrimp fried rice, but as soon as the fried rice came out, the first thing she said was "how come it looks so different from before." Not only did it look different, it was BURNT. It was like they fried the rice in a burnt wok so every grain of rice was coated in tiny black burnt bits. It was essentially inedible. They also just topped the rice with some tastless blanched shrimp instead of actually stir frying the shrimp into the rice. The green onion pancake used to be flakey with layers and expectedly oily for this dish, but the pancake we got this time was essentially a tasteless tortilla. It literally looked and tasted like a tortilla. No layers, flakes or oil at all and was the worst green onion pancake I've ever had anywhere. The fish with black bean sauce was acceptable, but it was definitely not the same. It tasted more like American Chinese flavors instead of the previous authentic Cantonese flavors. The only dish that I thought was still good was the stir fried eggplants, although my parents said it also tasted more Americanized. We are so sad that the food here has changed so much and it was one of the rare places my Cantonese dad actually said tasted authentically Cantonese in the area. The restaurant was full during our latest vist but we did notice that 90% of the diners and people ordering take-out were non-Asians. When we came previously, there was a good mix of Asian and non-Asian diners, so it seems like the clientele have shifted, which might explain the flavor changes or vice versa. The staff is still very nice and friendly, but it seems like the robot server has been laid off. I don't think we will be coming back again unfortunately as the food is no longer what we loved before. However, they seemed to still be doing well so others must still like it.

All the items were really tasty except for the fried pork buns - don't get those. The bun part was very mushy and you didn't get any soup inside. The fish with seaweed and salt and pepper pork chops were excellent. Very flavorful and not too salty. I would definitely get those again. The Shanghai style rice cakes are also very good, nice and chewy, definitely cooked correctly. And you can't go wrong with the shrimp egg rolls - they came with large chunks of shrimp which was nice. The star of the show for me though was the Ma Hu Beef noodles. The beef was remarkably tender and delicious and the noodles had a firmer texture that complimented with the flavors. Oddly enough, the mild heat on the Ma Hu Beef was spicier than the medium heat three-in-one! If you find yourself in the mood for Biangbiang noodles, this is definitely the spot to go to. On a side unrelated note about the parking which did not influence my review; the parking here is rough. It's consistently packed so watch out for that. There is a structure across the street that allows parking for the food court. I parked in the structure but I had a bad experience because since it's also parking for the residents above, the gate was closed on us after 8pm. I had to wait for a vehicle to come out and open the gate for not only just me but for multiple other people that had also parked in the structure!Just something to keep in mind. Hopefully that doesn't continue being an issue for future guests.

Delicious Chinese food and great for family style! Near full house each time I visit but no worries…read more- got seated quick. Casual restaurant with a selection of cold dishes displayed up front. Lemon water in pitcher is provided once you get seated. Order via QR code. A standout dish was the pork pancake, which was layered almost like a savory crepe. The exterior was crispy and slightly oily. Plenty of flavor packed into each bite mmm I also ordered the spicy sauerkraut lamb hot pot. It comes with flames & reminded me a bit of Boiling Point. Lots of napa cabbage in the broth. The lamb was excellently fatty... tender and soft! I've recently had another hot pot place with lean lamb so this was on point. Portions were generous and the price felt very reasonable. My favorite dish of the meal was the fatty beef with scallions. The beef was indeed fatty and rich flavor, with what I think was a nice subtle Shaoxing wine or cooking wine flavor. The natural sweetness of the onions balanced the savory, salty sauce nicely.

We ordered beef noodle soup, shrimp wonton soup & chicken noodle soup. All soup are different, but flavorful. My favorite is the shrimp noodle soup. We also ordered beef wraps and scallion pancakes - it was crispy. Service is excellent - food came put really quickly after ordering.

A&J is an Irvine institution!! Can't even remember how much times I've visited in the last ten…read moreyears because it's probably my favorite Taiwanese spot in the area. It's about time I reviewed them! My number one dish goes to the minced pork rice- it's a pretty simple dish, but it's sooo good here for some reason. I've ordered this dish at other Taiwanese restaurants and nothing compares to the one at A&J- the pork is always SO flavorful, never dry and enough to coat all the rice, the egg is perfection, and all the little garnishes compliment the dish so well. It's also just as amazing takeout which I always appreciate. Other go-tos are the spicy beef noodle soup- the beef in it is always so tender and I love getting the thick noodle option because of the rough texture it adds. Beef roll and pan fried dumplings are always a good option for sharing. Have tried a lot of things on their menu and nothing so far has disappointed!

Went to A&J with a few friends on a Friday night. There was about a 15-minute wait. We checked in,…read moretold them our party size, received a numbered ticket, and were seated shortly after. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, including the beef noodle soup, minced pork over rice, spicy wontons, fried pork chop, and scallion pancake. At first, the portions looked smaller than we expected, but the prices were reasonable and the food ended up being more filling than it appeared. We actually thought we'd need to order several more dishes for our group of four, but by the end of the meal we were completely satisfied. My favorite was definitely the spicy wontons. The wontons themselves were great, but the sauce was flavorful, slightly spicy, and addictive!
