The big heavy seat man at the counter refused to give me my money back after I paid and realize he scammed and overcharged me after swiping my card . This place is a scam ! Fraudulent!!! Be aware : I had a really disappointing experience at this store. After being told one price for my snacks, I was overcharged at the register. When I asked for a refund, the employee denied it. I'm extremely frustrated and will be reporting this to both the Better Business Bureau and the Federal Trade Commission for unfair business practices. I won't be shopping here again. read more

I should've known the cleanliness of this establishment was suspect with all the dogs running around and the person who made my sandwich was wearing gloves and using her cell phone when I walked in. Ordered a roast beef sandwich via Grubhub the other day and they "forgot" my sandwich when ordering. They were nice enough to send someone over and even included a complimentary Twix bar. Sadly enough, the bread wasn't too soft nor fresh. I've been wanting to try a sandwich from this place since I pass by it on the way to work and the reviews are decent. Got the Cuban which sounded good with the addition of homemade pork shoulder. While the sando was "ok" tasting I was very disappointed there was no pork shoulder but bacon instead and it was that cheap super processed pre-cooked bacon. They really need to update their menu. Stopped in for the first time during the pandemic - before my vaccination appointment at the nearby Moscone Center. Parked my bike in the Bike Link lockers (BikeLink.org) in the 5th & Mission Street Garage, across the street from SF D&W. The woman behind the counter made a great BLAT sandwich (a good BLT becomes great with the avocado... and the bacon's gotta be crispy). I like this place. No, I mean I really, REALLY like this place. It was love at first sight, I tell you. Everything from its inside beauty to the amazing customer service was FAB! I walked in during the evening right before class as I was on the hunt for a delicious deli sandwich. I Yelped me "Best sandwiches" in the area and this place popped up. This place is known for their delicious fresh sandwiches. In the morning time, this place is packed as everyone has a taste for their amazing breakfast sandwiches. I have yet to try those, but it's definitely on my list! I tried their BLTA on Dutch Crunch and it was ENJOYABLE! All the ingredients are fresh and they get fresh bread every morning. I never thought I would be in love with such a small liquor and deli shop, but I think I am. I mean, they are not the BEST sandwiches in the San Francisco Bay Area but they damn sure have wonderful customer service, and really take pride in making sure that people are leaving satisfied. Let me not forget a large amount of liquor collection. I swear, everything you want, they got it! The lovely gentleman working here are so sweet. From the time I walked in until the time I left they treated me with the utmost respect. Everything from asking me how my day was, too small chats about what type of liquor I like. Why can't every liquor joint be like this!? Customer service is so hard to find but this place definitely rates 5/5! They're a neighborhood gem for sure. It's located on a busy street, but there aren't throes of people walking in here. It's easy to miss as you're walking by and I love that. When I've gone in here, it's pretty empty and it's great place to get quick last minute host gifts like wine, cigars and such. They have a nice selection of sandwiches to choose from or make your own. I always order a simple salami sandwich on a French roll, provolone, mustard, mayo and pickles. It's the best. Surprisingly, as I made my way to the back row of the wine that features a to-die-for Pinot Noir, from the Languedoc region of France, none other than the transcendent wing Kyle Singler pulled a 40-Liter of Mickey's from the refrigerator. Obvi, we got to talking and he invites me to the team's after party at the HMB Ritz. We exchange numbers and he also tells me to txt Russ my deets so I'm on the list. I was working in the area and was looking for something inexpensive and quick for lunch. Seems like everywhere nearby in the area are pricey and people are in line for their lunch. I notice their sign about lunch combo for sandwich, chip and soda under $10 bucks. I had sliced sour dough breads with salami, cheese and all toppings. Their sandwich was surprisingly good. I've been a patron of just the store for a few years and I've never had a bad experience there. All the staff arr helpful and friendly. This is by far the cleanest, classiest, store with a wife variety of everything in SF, oh and they have a deli. I just had my 1st deli sandwhich(turkey on sweet roll, with the works) and it was absolutely the best sandwhich Ive had in a long time. There are places in SF where that sandwhich would cost about $18, but a whole meal sandwhich, soda and chips was just over $10. If you are on or arojnd 4th st. and Mission I would most definitely would suggest stopping in and grabbing and sandwhich. read more

What a way to start the day calling in to speak to a really rude latin lady. I called to make sure they have bread for their sandwiches because they have had a deli with no bread for the past few days, and the lady who answered was extremely rude the entire call and very unprofessional. She was trying as hard as she could to get me off the phone. First I asked if they had bread for the sandwiches, and with an annoyed voice she said yes. I asked if I could pre-order over the phone, and her reply was "Sir we have a lot of people calling in to order over the phone and they don't show up, so please just come in and we will take your order here" So I said, "So because other people are placing orders through the phone and not showing up that means I am not allowed to because you think I won't show up?" She says "I never said the word you are not allowed, just come in and we will take your order here" Again I wanted to be clear because she did say people were placing orders over the phone and not showing up so I asked "But you said people are placing orders and not showing up, so why can't I?" She ignores me for a while, then says "Oh my god, I'm busy over here sir what is it you want?" I said again " I just wanted to see if I could place an order for pick up" She asks me how many sandwiches I need, how big of an order, then she skips that and says I can just order through grubhub. Another time months later, I came in and asked for a breakfast burrito. The same rude latin lady pulls out some old cold blackened eggs and tosses them in a bowl and cracks another egg, and she giggles a little bit. I asked if she used old egg, first she says no, then she ends up admitting she did use already cooked eggs that was leftover from being too much for the last order. I said I want fresh eggs, not old cooked eggs. She says she can make another burrito with fresh eggs if I want, someone else will come in right after and buy the one she just made me anyway, basically someone else will get the old eggs and not even know it. I had like 5 minutes left from my break so I just said screw it and took it, I ate old eggs mixed with fresh ones and it was noticeable. I work in this neighborhood. A lot. It's obviously there to service the tourists at the conference center and hotels. That said, The sandwiches are great. But only if all great things take time. Slowest sandwich I've ever seen made. It was good, but cost my buddy the ability to get one, because our break was over by the time I got mine. To be clear, I didn't manage to eat it until the next break. A place should be able to make two sandwiches in fifteen minutes. Different trip in: Not a fan of the whole minimum credit card charge either. It may be legal, but it makes your establishment look cheap and the whole transaction felt like I was in a shady hood buying gum from a guy behind the glass. You're gouging tourists.
