    The Kyle Club Specialty Sandwich
    Blake G.

Got a sandwich from this place. It was delicious. The man behind the counter whipped out 8 sandwiches for us in a span of 15 mins. He ran that shop like the navy. The sandwich was delicious. It was just the cold cut sandwich experience I wanted.

In town for a few days looking for a good sandwich near hotel and came across this place via Yelp. Great menu of sandwiches and build your own. Wine display is fabulous.

Ordered a roast beef sandwich via Grubhub the other day and they "forgot" my sandwich when ordering. They were nice enough to send someone over and even included a complimentary Twix bar. Sadly enough, the bread wasn't too soft nor fresh. Their roast beef must have been some super prime roast beef as there was merely one thin slice of roast beef....maybe that's why there was an option for extra roast beef for $3... ...needless to say, I was still quite hungry after "lunch"...

Stopped in for the first time during the pandemic - before my vaccination appointment at the nearby Moscone Center. Parked my bike in the Bike Link lockers (BikeLink.org) in the 5th & Mission Street Garage, across the street from SF D&W. The woman behind the counter made a great BLAT sandwich (a good BLT becomes great with the avocado... and the bacon's gotta be crispy). A few weeks later, second vaccine dose... and no question that lunch would be another BLAT from SF D&W. Yerba Buena Park is nearby to enjoy the food outdoors.

Great sandwiches. The roast beef and pork shoulder are awesome. Excellent wine selection and great snacks! I recently came in to get a bottle of bourbon, specifically Mitcher's 10 year rye. They had it! Great price too. They have an awesome selection of bourbons. SOMA gem!

The Hamma at Prom. Best owner/cashier I've ever met!

Came through to this establishment after Game 7 of WC Finals against OKC where I sat next to Joe Lacob, my second cousin, in the front row. Surprisingly, as I made my way to the back row of the wine that features a to-die-for Pinot Noir, from the Languedoc region of France, none other than the transcendent wing Kyle Singler pulled a 40-Liter of Mickey's from the refrigerator. Obvi, we got to talking and he invites me to the team's after party at the HMB Ritz. We exchange numbers and he also tells me to txt Russ my deets so I'm on the list. Things are really looking up for the night! As we checkout, the cashier proceeds to ring up my total up and bag my drink. Walking out I had the best experience at SF D&W and 10/10 would recommend.

Very bad service, quote merchandise prices excluding taxes. So you have an extra price on your receipt. Keep your money publik.

They are a great retailer, very knowledgeable of wines old world and new. They have a fantastic selection. My issue is with their auction business, which I think they have very little they can do about it as they are taking the word of the sellers that the bottles have been properly cellared. Multiple Aubert Chardonnays (2014-2017) bottlings, top end, have been clearly past their prime despite being in the start of the prime drinking window, and one bottle that was very tired. So it seems to be less of the "rare bad bottle" problem and more of a systemic issue with some of their sellers. I'll change this review if other such start-of-the-prime-drinking-window bottles through K&L prove to show they are drinking well and increase the ratio of good to bad items. I have a lot more of these bottles to test. Edit: may 2026 - a few more Aubert Chardonnay's going back to a 2018 Eastside were opened and we're all spectacular, crisp and peaked. Our stats are much better now on the aging of chards through the auction. Changing to 5 stars.

From a customer's perspective, this is an unacceptable experience, as neither company accepted responsibility or provided a satisfactory resolution.

I did not touch any merchandise and only looked at the wall of drinks. I was inside for a short time and thanked the staff as I exited. As soon as I stepped outside, I could hear staff speaking about me. When I responded, the situation escalated quickly. Two individuals approached me and began yelling aggressively, repeatedly calling me a "thief" and using other hostile language, despite the fact that I had not taken anything. One individual came very close to my face and pointed at me, while the second moved toward me and my dog in a way that felt threatening. During the interaction, my business card was thrown to the ground and kicked toward the curb. The situation became intense enough that I experienced a physical stress response and had to call 911. Emergency services responded, and the incident is documented with a police CAD report. I also have video of the interaction. After emergency services arrived, the individuals returned inside and closed the store shutters. This experience felt completely disproportionate to the situation. Based on this interaction, I would not feel comfortable returning.
