    Family dinner @ Hot Pot
    LJ H.

When you have that hot pot craving, this is definitely the place to go. They have a good selection of meats along with a pretty diverse vegetable, seafood and sauce bar. I love how often our server checked up on us. Always asking for any refills of meats or appetizers. This is a place you come to for celebrations and parties. There is a lot of room to move around. For about $30, you can't beat this deal for AYCE Hot Pot.

"wagyu" sirlion tip after a few orders.

Excellent service, great price and decent setup. I appreciated the individual pots. Veggie, seafood, and sauce bar was abundant with plenty of choices and wait staff constantly cleaning it up and replenishing. My biggest issue with the place is that after a few orders of meat the cuts / quality appear to change from what was given initially. For example the first 3-4 orders of wagyu sirloin tip looks great. Marbling was wagyu and cut was clearly sirloin tip. After that the quality drastically changed. What we got was sirloin, but not from the tip. And more prominent it was not wagyu marbling. More like USDA select or choice.

Love the variety of veggies, and the seafood in the salad and sauce bar. I also like that there is only a few pieces on each tray. So I can try different meats. Service as great. Ambiance was really good. There were a few birthday parties and they sang the song.

Came here with my cousin's family and my kids because we were craving hot pot. This was my first time here. We got there a bit before 5, and got seated right away for a party of 7. Broth - you get to choose your own broth for your individual pot. When they do refill, they also refill with broth instead of hot water which is nice. I got the house broth and it was flavorful. Self-serve bar - the variety of items at the self-serve bar was ok. I have been to places where there were definitely more variety and better stocked. Meats - the meat was standard, and there was a good variety Service - we had to flag down our server multiple times for different reasons. Seems like she was pretty busy with the tables she had to cover, and couldn't check in on us that often. Overall, this is a decent hot pot place in the area. If I had the time, I would drive further for better hot pot places.

Been here a couple of times now and we love it. Located at the Veranda so parking can be packed specially on weekends. $29 all you can eat. Restaurant is pretty big, awesome for a big group. Love that the stove are individual rather than other hot pot that are shared within the group, due to my seafood allergies I don't get to enjoy hotpo. Different types of broth are available for each individual. Appetizers, all types of noodles, veggies and sauces. Lets not forget the meat that are also unlimited. We love the prime blade meat and beef toro. Some days tho I feel a little rushed. But overall great food and good service.

My son loves AYCE restaurants and suggested to come here. It wasn't too busy with just a quick 20 minute wait at 6pm. We sat down and ordered appetizers and drinks. Service was fast and friendly. We had the gyoza and chicken teriyaki appetizers...they were ok. I enjoyed all of the seafood options because I really don't eat beef that much but my son and husband had a ton of the sliced special beef. I opted for the miso broth and it was tasty! The dinner was relatively inexpensive for how much you get and we will probably return!

First time but was not disappointed Upon entering the place was fairly more spacious than anticipated, lots of seating and plenty of space Definitely a busy spot though I will say, in a pretty busy area to be fair So had zero experience with this type of place, the staff was very friendly and helpful in explaining how it works. Very attentive and came back countless times to ask if everything is good and if we wanted to order more of anything else. It is all you can eat on everything For the food honestly it's really good as for how it's prepared entirely up to you, they have a huge bar you go up to and grab whatever else you'd like to throw in your broth like green onion, garlic, noodles and so much more. Honestly it would be impossible try it all on the first trip, so definitely gonna have to go again to try different combinations. The appetizers are not many but they're not really the star of the show although they're all so very good so highly recommend trying at least one of each. I can definitely see there being a learning curve to this type of food because if you're not careful you can overcook whatever you put in your broth, I know I did so there is a little bit of juggling or paying attention at least. So don't feel discouraged You do have control over the heat of the hot plate in front of you so you can turn it up or down at any point. I believe you also have a 90 min limit which is pretty standard for all you can eat places so no surprises there. All in all very good and unique food experience Would recommend to try at least once! Especially on a cold day

Even if it looks crowded, go in! They sat us immediately. Server wasn't Camille (she was off, I asked) but she was nice and attentive. AYCE hotpot for $29.99/pp is well worth it. Food is great- thinly sliced beef and pork to cook in broth to your liking. They also have a cold bar for your noodles, vegetables and seafood. The sauce station elevates the soup/meat to over a 10. I like the Asian chili and soy sauce to dip my meat it. Baby Bear likes the yuzu. The apps are great too the soy glazed chicken and gyoza are always great! Only suggestion would be to bring back the designated metal tongs to place your raw meat in the broth. The plastic forks they offer, melt after some time. Using the supplied chopsticks on raw and cooked meat seems a little unsafe - for me. But regardless- Definitely will be back.

We were surprised that we didn't have to wait long to be seated at this AYCE restaurant. Maybe it was perfect timing -- we arrived around 6:15 p.m. on a Saturday night -- or maybe it's just easier to get a table for two. There's a 90-minute dining limit, so we ordered right away. They offer five types of broth; we went with the Original House and Tonkotsu. For appetizers, we had Gyoza, Chicken Karaage, and Soy Glazed Chicken Karaage -- all delicious, and perfect for us since we're not into spicy food, but if you want spicy, they have that on the menu too. There are seven types of meat, and yes, we tried them all! Each one was fresh and flavorful -- definitely premium quality. The variety of sides, vegetables, and seafood was impressive, making it easy to build the perfect hot pot combination. The restaurant can get a bit loud, so it's not the best place for quiet conversation, but it's lively. Parking at The Veranda can also be tricky during busy hours, so plan a little extra time for that. By the end of the meal, we were so full and satisfied. Great service, good value for $29.99 excluding drinks, and overall a great dining experience. We'll definitely be back!

My husband and I really enjoy dining at this restaurant. We often come here to celebrate family birthdays or just to hang out with friends. The prices are quite reasonable, there's plenty of seating, and the menu offers a good variety of food options. Every time I come, I always forget to bring my Thai-style suki dipping sauce! The staff can be hit or miss--sometimes very nice and attentive, and other times a bit indifferent--but we still keep coming back even though we live quite far away. The food might not be the absolute best we've ever had, but it's definitely worth the price. Parking can be a bit tough on weekends and holidays, but overall it's a good experience. Today our server, Kali G, was especially wonderful--very friendly and attentive. She kept checking in to see if we wanted more meat or appetizers. Her great service really made our visit more enjoyable.

Came in with my boyfriend and another friend on a Saturday evening. We joined the waitlist after checking in with the host and were told it would be a 20-40 min wait, which was accurate. It's located in a plaza where there's plenty of other things to look, shop, or sit at, so time flew by. I checked their website and it looks like you can join the waitlist there, but not on yelp. Service was quick and we were seated near the door, but weren't hit by any drafts when the door was opened. We got our drink orders, apps, and meats. By the time we got up to pick our toppings from the bar (an assortment of veggies, eggs, noodles, seafood, etc) the meat was delivered. Thinly sliced in groups of four per plate. We all ordered the spicy miso broth, which wasn't too spicy. There's additional sauces you can get from the bar if you want more spice. Our waitress was very helpful and even offered rice, which I didn't know was an option. Music was playing a bit loud, but not excessively so, temperature was adjustable for your broth at your table, and each person had their own pot. Bathrooms were also clean, and there's two sides of the bar so it's not crowded. We also witnessed workers restocking the bar, and others going around regularly adding broth to guests' pots. Restaurant was also roomy. For $30 on a weekend? It's a solid deal. Maybe come by when not super busy, or plan ahead.

Social media (Reddit) reporting nearby location - Milpitas - saying servers' tablets now cut patrons off at 60 minutes? Is there now a 1 hour limit?

Last time we went, maybe a month ago, they enforced it. They always had limit but it was never enforced from my other visits. Perhaps with the popularity, the wait got longer and longer. So to prevent the everlasting wait, they finally enforced…

Does it come with fries and other snacks with the ayce options?

No come with appetizer but no fries

When does lunch time start and how many rounds of meat can I order as well as appetizers? Someone told me only 4 rounds but is this correct?

You can order up to 4 meats per round but there are no limit on how many rounds. Just gotta be out by 90 mins mark

Is there any way to reserve seats ahead of time on a certain day at a possible certain time?

Yes. Just call them. I was able to reserve a table for my family by calling them.

    How much each person?

Lunch $20 Dinner $30 .... Dinner menu includes ribeye

My husband is very sensitive to MSG. can he dine at your restaurant?

Probably not… because we don’t remember if any of the broth was free of MSG… and all the broth were prepared. I would call them to make sure they can accommodate that request. Then again, the broth won’t be the same if it’s altered…

    Are the meats marinated?

    Nope

    Does Shabuya take reservations?

No, Shabuya does not take reservations.

Since when did I have to be there for them to tell me how long the wait is? That's stupid. I don't want to drive all the way out there just for it to be a 2 hour wait.

Larger parties , they should know that it's going to be a wait ... the staff they turn those tables over quickly ... but , they cannot accurately tell you how long the wait is to avoid confrontation that's why they don't give you an exact time .

Are there vegetarian options for broth and toppings?

Their broths are vegetable based & they do have a variety of fresh vegetable toppings. My SIL is a GF vegan & this is her new favorite spot.

Do you serving for 1 person thank you?

Yes, you get your own hot pot with your own broth. Even if you dine with another person, they will have their own broth.

If coming for a birthday celebration; are we allowed to bring in our own cakes?

Yes, I seen someone bring one when I went

So my mom has celiac disease and can only eat gluten free options food, does anyone know if Shabuya has that option?

Some of the broth may be gluten intolerant, but I'm sure you can ask the servers to get one that is appropriate for your mother. They're very nice and attentive. The food is all uncooked, so it's easy to pick and choose what she can eat from the…

    Do you allow pets?

They have an outside patio area for dinning that is pet friendly

    Is this place vegetarian friendly?

There are things that a vegetarian could eat. Vegetables, tofu, noodles, rice, etc...However, there isn't the largest of selections. I would suggest checking the pictures on Yelp of what's offered, and consider whether what they have to offer is…

Is there still outdoor seating these days?

Just went by there today, they took down their outdoor seating

What is the favorite of the broths? Same question for the meats, and favorites among the side dishes/add-ins from salad bar.

Broths: i personally love the spicy miso but i tried some of my friends Tonkotsu so if ur looking more creamy (ish) i would pick that. You could also just add spices to that one…

Are seafood available during lunch time?

Yes , they are ! More so , for dinner ! CHEERS !!!

Are customers allowed to purchase meats from the restaurant to cook at home?

No clue . Why would you want to ? Purchase those meats at the store , freeze them ... have your butcher at your favorite supermarket slice thin and you are good to go !

    Do you take reservations?

No they don't take reservations. You put your name on a list and they will text you when it's time.

I know that a lot of people reading this review are looking for a comparison between the restaurants. Usually, others are split on this opinion when I mention it. So here's my why. The seafood menu selection is the same as most crab boil spots. I ordered the deveined/headless shrimp on my last visit. The spicy sauce was def spicy! Shrimp was cooked perfectly, not overcooked like I've had at other places. They give a generous portion of sauce, which is necessary to pour over some white rice! The appetizer selection at Cajun Crack'n is elite! The fried oysters are my favorite! I've also had the wings, fried mozzarella and Crawfish fried rice. All delicious choices! The combo had a nice variety with shrimp, crab legs, sausage, corn, potatoes, and egg, and everything was cooked well. The house special sauce was buttery, garlicky, flavorful, and the medium spice level had just the right amount of heat without being too much. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the sauce was a little on the salty side. It was still delicious, but after a while the saltiness started to stand out. If they dialed that back just a bit, it'd be even better. Overall, I'd definitely come back. Good portions, great flavor, and a solid spot when you're craving a seafood boil.

The jerk chicken was beautifully executed. Smoky, well-marinated, and layered with flavor without being overpowering. It wasn't aggressively spicy or one-dimensional; instead, it had depth, the kind that tells you the seasoning had time to develop. The meat was tender, cooked through, and balanced perfectly between char and juiciness. The rice and peas were equally satisfying -- flavorful enough to stand alone but clearly designed to complement the protein. And the plantains were caramelized just right: soft, sweet, and not overly oily. What really stands out is the care. Nothing felt rushed or generic. As a vendor operation, it would be easy to cut corners but this feels like food made with pride. The Bay Area has no shortage of Caribbean spots, but Jamin Jerk Kitchen holds its own with quality and consistency. We ordered a medley of everything, the Jerk Fish, Jerk Chicken, Oxtails, Rasta Pasta, Jam n Cheez, Rice N Peas, all were incredible. The chicken was so flavorful, the oxtails fall off the bone, the fish with the mango salsa was kickin, and the jam n Cheeze was sooooo gooey! The food was so good in fact that our coworkers demanded us to share! My first…read moreimpression walking into it was that the restaurant was surprisingly huge inside, and I loved how well air conditioned it was, especially on a hot day. Overall, the place felt very clean, tidy, and well organized. The service was also great and staff were friendly and welcoming, which was definitely a plus. Now, let's get to the food review. Original Sisig Kapampangan: Absolutely delicious. It was served on a hot plate and had a savory, creamy flavor (possibly from the mayonnaise) while still tasting a bit tangy once you squeezed lemon over it. I'd definitely order this again. Beef Brisket Kare Kare: I honestly thought I didn't like kare kare until I tried their version. The peanut sauce was rich and savory without tasting like peanut butter in a jar like Skippy. The beef was tender, and I also loved the assortment of vegetables included in the dish. What really took it to another level, though, was the bagoong sauce (on the side), which paired so well with this dish. This dish was absolutely yummy. Sizzling Beef Brisket Ala Pobre: We were really excited to try this because we'd heard great things about it, but unfortunately, it didn't really deliver. The flavor was pretty bland, and even though it was topped with fried garlic, it was still missing a strong garlic flavor. The beef itself was tender, which was probably the only good thing about the dish, but aside from that, the sauce and overall flavor were just underwhelming. Garlic Rice: This came in a pretty generous portion enough for three. I could definitely taste the garlic, but I think it could've used a little more. Still, it was good overall.

lol. i dont know how this place is getting 5 star reviews. looks like the employees are writing…read moretheir review to vamp up their ratings. don't get me wrong the food here are really good especially the sinigang na liempo, laing and pancit palabok. service wise? don't even get me started especially the big guy so called manager raf. raf walks around the restaurant as if he's just walking in the park. he doesn't even bother asking the customers if we needed anything. one table in front of us asked for a take out box and raf asked another server who was busy to get it for him while he was just standing by the register. i didn't just notice it once but multiple times that i've eaten here. another incident i've seen was raf was flirting with one of the employee i don't know his name but he was short muscular guy with a lot of tattoos on his arm in which he just goes in and out the kitchen. they were hugging and flirting around. c'mon, get a room. this is a restaurant. i dont think this is something customers should see. it just seems very unprofessional. i wish i was able to take a picture of them. the owner might want to consider how their manager should represent their business. makes me wonder if the owners are aware of this. not all servers are like that though. diane was one of the servers that helped us. she was very nice and helpful. alex is my favorite he was very funny and knows the menu and all the deals the restaurant has to offer ---can't go wrong with free apetizer when you reach a certain amount. weekends they have live music. i love their two bartenders.
